They take dogs, very clean and quiet. Close to gas station.
The in was just lovely... All of the in room amenities you would need. The decor was fresh and modern and comfortable. The staff was able to quickly accommodate our spur of the moment after hours booking, friendly and warm folk. Lakeshore inn is a great choice for overnight or longer Empire MI is a tiny town and only has a few dining options in the Fall/Winter but we did find a nice place for dinner.
The property is right next door to the Sleeping Bear Dunes visitors centre. It was clean and quiet, easy walking to the restaurants and beach in Empire. Check-in / out was straightforward.
Everything about this place was first rate. The town of Empire is quaint and the surrounding area offers all kinds of wonderful opportunities.
Beautiful
Poor accommodations at best
We discovered that the main floor room had walls and ceiling that well NOT well insulated. It was very noising during the hour of rest. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. The ice machine was located across the street at their newer building. At $450.00 for the two nights we expected much more. I would NOT recommend this to others or book another stay. We should have requested a partial refund.
Very clean rooms
Sweet little place to stay while visiting Route 22 this fall, everything was just perfect
mmmm
Staff not very congenial.
Nice but could be better
The room and property were nice enough. The bed was very comfortable. Good location to explore dunes and Leelanau. Would give higher rating but was disappointed in service. The bed was not made for the entire 4 day stay and had to request towels after 2nd day. Resupplied the coffee but not the toiletries so bring you own shampoo…also GPS does not take you to office area, you will need to go to other side of gas station.
Very clean and comfortable.
Very clean and quiet.ground are well kept
Frustrating check in
Told at time of booking that payment would be taken at check in only ( not in advance) turns out … they ran my card before I even arrived/ checked in. Not understanding why I could t just pay on the app at time of booking. Very inconvenient and unsafe use of my credit card information.
We love Empires so loved this little inn that is conveniently located at edge of town and reasonably priced.
It was a great stay
Comfortable and Clean
Wonderful experience! Everything was very clean and the space was comfortable. The design utilized the space well, offering amenities like a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker that allowed us to fix some simple meals in the room. Everything was updated and the beds were very comfortable, which was important to me as I have back issues. Everyone we dealt with was so friendly and helpful. I look forward to our next stay!
It was a comfortable and clean hotel and very convenient to anywhere we wanted to go. My only complaints would be that it is 2 buildings that are a good 2 blocks apart with a busy road and a gas station between the 2. The only ice machine is in the other building, so you have to drive to get ice. Also, checking in can be a little confusing, due to it being at the one building. They try to explain it, but it's a rather odd setup. Also, it was difficult to find a local channel and no guide. But really, it was a comfortable stay and I would stay again.
Lovely place
Cute, quiet motel like accommodations close to M22 and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore visitor center. Great place to stay for discovering the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan.
We were allowed to check in early.
Spacious room
Comfortable bed. We stayed in the older hotel and if you wanted ice you had to go about a block away to the newer hotel to get it 😧. The price was ridiculously high for what I would say was a very nice 2 star hotel.
The room was very clean.
The room was fine... clean and a decent size. It was very loud both above us and outside in the parking lot as you can hear pretty much everything going on in the rooms around you. I think we must've had a herd of elephants in the room above us or they were rearranging the furniture all night lol. I'm not one to complain, but even for me it was a bit much. Paid for an upgraded room that I thought was upstairs, management didn't care but Expedia made it right. Overall we got what we paid for I guess.
Not much around the property store wise and dining but the room itself was great and we were very pleased with our stay.
It was close to the lake
I enjoyed the more modern and clean lines of everything it made it feel cleaner and I like that.
High price…..no pool Close to Sleeping Bear National Park
Very new clean quiet and centrally located. Property was well maintained.
Would stay here again! 0 problems
The hotel was easily accessible. Rooms were spacious and service was excellent.
Perfect location!! The beach was great! The staff were very friendly!!
Excellent central location for Sleeping Beat Park. Quiet room
Loved this place! Convenient location tucked away from city life but close enough to drive to many activities. Convenient and clean gas station next door. Large rooms. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.
Clean room and friendly staff.
2 night stay good walking distance to town and beach. Rooms are nice, no frills. I bit pricy for what you get but there are not many options in town. Overall worth the stay.0
I booked this place on expedia and it was not what I wanted. The room that I had booked had a jacuzzi and snack bar. This place did not. I would never pay $1380 CAD for a place that was a step up from a motel for 3 nights. It was pretty clean, paper thing walls to the point where my partner thought I was making noise in the shower, when it was really someone walking down the stairs from above us. (we had the end unit). Not worth the price, but for half the price I would stay there again. Very convenient to the beach and food spots.
New clean simple traditional motel. No views, next to a clean new gas station. Again, nice, adequate but mundane.
We had a great stay at Lakeshore. Walking around and going to the beach.
A Gem
The rooms were remodeled and excellent.
Close to sleeping bear dunes and beautiful beach
Very clean, nice room, easy check in and check out process.
Very nice small hotel with friendly staff and a quiet place to relax and just a few minute walk to beach access at the lake.
Lacking in the amount of soap and shampoo.
Wonderful place!
Clean Quier stay.
Clean(very) quiet stay. Coffee, microwave, fridge provided. Short walk to the beach, gas station next door, sandwich shop nearby, always a great stay here. No pool/hotub. You have the beach a short walk away. Also go around 8pm. Watch the sunset.
it was lovely
4th of July trip
Good location could walk to restaurants and close to the beach
Updated, clean and quiet. The bed was amazing!
Spacious and very clean room. Lovely landscaping. Large bathroom. Comfortable bed.
Welcomed Stay
What a great find! We were very pleased with the location, the room was extremely clean and well kept up. It was a very nice stay and we left wishing we would have booked for another night. Very close to shops, and Dunes.
Great location to Empire Beach and Sleeping Bear Dunes
AC did not work properly. Bathroom door was warped and would not close. Pictures on webpage were deceptive about views. Very few places to eat. The motel should provide a continental breakfast for the price they charge
Amazing, the room was lovely. Super clean and 5 mine from the lake, truly the best
Simple, but perfect hotel. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Exceeded my expectations.
Helpful responsive staff, very clean and well maintained. Comfortable bed. Very close to Sleeping Bear park entrance. Easy to get around.
Very nice staff. Very clean
Never talked to a person at this property as we got in late and left early. They didn’t come and clean our room during the day either but I wondered if we needed to hang our tag on the door to get it. The address isn’t exactly right for the property- it may be across the street between the gas station and the Sleeping Bear Dunes Welcome Center
New hotel, clean, comfortable. Not much to do in the area.
New clean and fresh
Great lodge, clean and new however, the walls are paper thin and the white noise machine on the nightstand tells me that the owners know it’s really a problem. Was kept awake first by the loud tv and talking and then by loud snoring till 3:30 am. it WAS HORRIble the guy was sputtering and choking and coughing All night. Wouldn’t stay here again unless other rooms next to me were empty ! Too bad because it was so close to the dunes!
Property was a great place to stay. Clean and updated. No breakfast in the morning; however.
This property has very nice rooms and is close to the national park and Lake Michigan. The staff is very helpful and considerate.
We had a lovely stay here. The only thing it was too short! Empire is a darling little town and this stay checks all the boxes. Short walk to everything in town and just a mile to the beach. Do yourself a favor and catch a sunset. Don’t hesitate to book your stay.
Walking distance to Lake Michigan beach via Front Street that has a few stores and a tavern. Rooms were a not very soundproof, could hear neighboring conversations, snoring Modern and convenient for the area
Peaceful Stay
Always a very clean, quiet stay. With a short walk to a very clean beach
This hotel is beyond clean, new and such a warm welcome and pleasant surprise. Very friendly and perfect location for what we wanted to see and do while in the area.
Easy to find, great location, clean and pleasant rooms. The perfect place to stay while visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes park. I will definitely be going back.
Great
Great Stay
Great location. Great price. Great accommodations. Great staff.
We stayed at this property because of its location at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. We were in the annex building, across the street from the main facility. The walls are thin and we had noisy neighbors. The half-and-half creamer was spoilt. The TV did not work but we had internet for evening entertainment.
This was a great place to stay. Very clean. Only downside was the limited places to eat.
Nice and clean, no one there at property. Near Big Bear which is great!!
The owners/managers were very nice, approachable, and responsive. The Inn is very clean and very close to Sleeping Bear Dunes. The beds were comfortable. There are really nice places to eat in nearby Glen Arbor.
It was more modern & updated than I had expected. It was right next to the national park headquarters.national
The location was perfect
Very pleasant place! Clean, quiet and comfortable. Thanks for a restful night.
This place was wonderful. Very clean and in a good area.
Beautiful area, great hotel
We are use to hotels that don’t allow smoking. Accepted recreational smoking has a down side, it makes accommodations stink.
Lovely little quaint hotel. Rooms were very nice and had comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and gave excellent service. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Cozy, quiet motel
Great motel in a very good location. This is our second time to stay at this motel and we just love staying here. Quiet in late October. Easy to drive to Leland, Suttons Bay, and even Traverse City or Frankfort.
Lovely Hotel on M-22
We checked in late and left early. The office was not open at either time, but provisions were made by leaving the key in a mailbox where I dropped it off the following morning. The room was spotless which I loved. Comfortable bed. Mini fridge. Wonderful stay!
It was what was needed, a clean, safe affordable place to stay while viewing the colors. A bit noisy, so very grateful for the "ambiance sound machine" the hotel provided. Nice touch! Exceptionally clean. Never met any staff, but was able to get in and out without a problem. Room cleaned each day.
It was clean
Super Clean & Quiet
Spotless, super clean, very quiet area, short walk to Sunset Beach to see the sunset , it’s too cold to swim this time of year. Rooms are spacious , and have a small table and 2 chairs, coffee & tea is supplied, small fridge and microwave. Walking distance to the Visitor Center for help with things to do around the state park area and the dunes. (No indoor or outdoor pool)
Nice getaway
The room was everything we needed. Most of all we appreciated the cleanliness and the bed was super comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!
Love the two sinks in the room! The room was large and extremely clean and comfortable.
The stated address of the hotel on the website is not the address of the property. As a result, GPS and navigation apps cannot locate the property. I had to call the front desk for directions, which were contradictory at times (go past the post office, no turn around). As a result, I wasted 20 minutes tyring to find the hotel, which was not enjoyable after a 3.5 hour car ride.
A very nice stay. New. Clean. Not as quiet as one would hope, but it wouldn’t prevent me from staying here again. This trip is to visit local family and to go down “memory” lane of visiting cousins who lived in Maple City. We are revisiting all of our childhood locations. This hotel is in the center of all of them. I’m glad we chose this place.
Nice hotel
Nice hotel for thr area. Great location. Never saw any staff .
Hotel is OK, would probably try another one next
Hotel was adequate. The lighting was terrible both in the sleeping area and bathroom area. No elevators, so must walk up stairs with luggage. Parking limited right in front of bldg, but there is another lot across the street. We only stayed one night after getting off the ferry, so it worked out ok.
First time staying here and will probably be back if we come back to the area! Rates are fair. We were on the bottom level and the only downside being on the bottom is you can hear the people above very easily. Would probably request top floor for next time if able. Otherwise very clean and convenient spot!
Very clean, updated and plenty of outlets!
Booked last minute while traveling through- clean lovely place near sleeping Bear state park which was so beautiful 😍
My sheets where not clean. The room is nice
Nothing special about this place. A spartan room with minimal amenities (missing lotion and Kleenex). You could hear the TV and people talking in adjacent room. Would be quite overpriced were it not in the peninsula and early fall.
