Very friendly and helpful.
Great value
Older motel, but very well kept and very clean
remember when this place was built and how popular it was ...Sorry to see that it needs some TLC added to make it something it could be again.
2 stars
Price it no restaurant or coffee pot in room
Good very good
Cheaper comfortable family hotel option
I liked because the room has the necessary stuff like microwave, fridge, if you want something comfortable to sleep this hotel is a great cheaper option.
Nice surprise was microwave and frig in the room. Location was convenient
Room floor has stains, over all the hotel is outdated
Owner was great maybe the best shower ever hot and strong
Its perfect
Owner really tries, but the place old and is not kept up. Many things do not work, depending on room
This property was locked and empty. There was a window and the office area was abandoned with papers on their desks as if it was left in a hurry. Don’t book a reservation here, they are CLOSED!
This hotel is great for the price. Has everything you nred and so nice and clean! The Manager is so friendly. He's the BEST!
Everthing ok.
Very sketchy internet. AC did not cool after day 1. No coffee in room or lobby. Room was large and adequately furnished and decorated. Good restaurants nearby.
Property owner was very accomodating despite my indeciveness. Issue with shower draining was resolved promptly. Was more than accomodating when job i was working ended prematurely and refunded balance of reservation. Will stay here again when in the area.
We let them know we will have a late check-IN and at the time we arrive at the hotel we stood outside for about 10 minutes waiting for them to open us the door, we ring the night service bell several times and they never assist us, nobody show up at the door.
You get what you pay for, I suppose. El Dorado has seen better days. An abandoned look, stained floors, the wifi was iffy, and it took a long time for the older manager to shuffle across the lot, then another long time for him to process us. As he climbed back up across the lot to his room, he turned to stare at us, over and over, at each step as we entered our room. Parking lot in poor repair, overgrown with grass in parts.
The owner is really nice and helpful. We broke down in nogales and he helped us get a good mechanic.
The manager at El Dorado is the perfect example of what amazing customer service looks like. The stay at this quaint little hotel was perfect for our family.
The room was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Nogales
Staff here are very kind and courteous. The room was comfortable. We would stay here again.
Great friendly staff
slept on softer rocks
Comfortable, quiet, and inexpensive.
This is an older motel, located off the highways in downtown Nogales on the old route into Mexico. It's been kept up well by the current owners, is very quiet, and worth the extra 5 minutes of driving to save some money. Recommended!
Nice place to stay, El Dorado
Very nice hotel, nice beds very large handicap rooms
Good experience.
Will stay agian
This is our second stay here, the staff /owner are awesome. The rooms are always clean the beds and linens are spotless. Its a quiet hotel, the lobby is beautiful. It is an older building but the rooms are all well maintained, and very clean. The hotel is family owned and run, as such the rooms are kept spotless.
I liked the price which was less expensive than a number of other locations however the blankets had holes in them and the room's carpet was sticky. The towels were thin and small and there was only one per person. The tv was satellite only so there were no local channels to watch the news and etc. The gentleman at the desk was helpful, but overall the place was disappointing.
El Dorado Suites
Everything worked out well. Only concern was some noise as guests arrived late and left early. We got locked out of our room because the temperature turned very cold over night, but staff were excellent at fixing the problem. Breakfast was very basic. Room had all the necessities.
Carpet in real dirty
Tried to have a shower in the morning. Could not turn on the water. No cold water in the sink. At 7.40 am the doors to the office and dining room were still locked so no breakfast. Even a simple coffee would have been nice to start the day.
I liked the family owners were so polite and helpful. Didnt like no ice machines, pool always empty but pool not that important to me personally.
Simple but clean room with cable, fridge, microwave. Very pleasant couple running this place. There was a really rowdy party in the parking lot the night we stayed, but I got the impression this was unusual, and it was handled so that's okay. Simple, standard hotel breakfast.
Dirty old
Worst hotel ever horrible never book this hotel again if it was the last hotel available in the city
Inexpensive, pleasant managers and convenient location.
The owners are very friendly and polite. I liked just being able to relax there. The motel needs a little fixing up cosmetically. But personally. I still liked it there because it is in a good location and i like the family owned atmosphere
No pool or spa both out of order. No welcome drinks the bar was closed for repair. Ice machines out of order.
Very well maintained, clean, the rooms are with enough space, the beds are in very good condition, I think it´s a very good worth for the money
I liked this place, although there are a number of nearby motels not listed with a booking site that are just as suitable but less expensive. You have to ask for ice, as there is no outside ice machine. The only thing hot about breakfast was the coffee. There are packets of instant oatmeal that you could make if you happen to carry a microwave oven in your hip pocket. Nevertheless, breakfast was good with some very nice bagels and other usual carbohydrate fare. Breakfast wasn't ready at 6:30- I had to rouse someone to open up. This place has a great outside pool -- all it needs is some water. Nevertheless, overall I was pleased. The room condition was good. They placed me far away from the road noise, and internet worked very well.
The room was clean, bed comfortable. Only two or three rooms occupied. The hotel's best days were forty years ago and it looked worn and ready for a complete remodel
Good price
Stayed here for business.
"Hot" breakfast is bogus
The "hot" breakfast means that they have a toaster for the bread and bagels. Room was ok. But just ok.
Fantastic accommodation off of the main roads on south end of Grand Ave---owner was very friendly, rooms had just been renovated---for a 3 star property it was well worth the low price !!!!!---hardly anyone was there, only 4 rooms rented our night, well lighted, safe,& quiet---we would highly recommended it to mid-budget travelers, especially if you prefer a Kingsize bed, like we wanted---make sure you check it out for your next stay in Nogales,AZ ------Wayne,Canada
Great for the price
The room was clean and spacious with microwave and fridge. The owner and host was a nice man and very accomodating. Large hotel with few guests. Large parking area where I felt my vehicle was safe
It was a trip for the SOA Watch Encuentro and the rooms were very basic but fairly priced for what it is. There aren't amenities to speak of in walking distance but, again, it's just a basic hotel.
there were no breakfast at 630am and I have to leave and buy some, the hotel is very old and it looks dirty.
Look elsewhere it claims a lot online delivers 0
This place was I nightmare. I showed up to check in and the front doors were unlocked. No body for over 25min showed up. I walked a round a bit the restrooms and the Bar they claim to have is a lie. Yes they have one but it’s highly chained up. All the taxi driver said the owner said he will be reopening the bar in 2 week. That was probably last July 2017. I actually had to call The Nogales Police dept to do a welfare check to make sure they owner or employees weren’t dead in the back. I even shot video of the whole fiasco. I will up load to to YouTube next week.
Great for the price
From outside this hotel looked a bit run down and dated, but the room was very clean and comfortable, and the couple who checked me in where friendly and helpful. There weren't many other people staying there, though, and the breakfast was slim.
NICE EXTERIOR
I’ve found that when I check into a hotel that has been purchased by East Indians, they are very nice but they don’t seem to put money into their hotels...i can expect to find the thinnest towels, cheapest toilet paper, worn out furniture and rugs and worn out facilities in general. The place was dead but they put me into a room right next to the other occupied room where the inhabitants were quite noisy. I knew that it wasn’t going to be great because of the price but I may have to start hiking up my budget if all of this bothers me. More than one night would have been tough.
A kind Place
The people were so very kind- very responsive to the needs of others.
Many Rooms, Few Occupied
This is a strange place. It's got a huge number of rooms - maybe more than 100 - but only four or five seemed to be occupied the night I stayed there. One man seems to run the entire operation. The room was in fairly good condition (but smoke alarm battery missing).
won't stay here sgain.
Older hotel,
Older run down hotel, seen it's better day.
Many small maintenance issues, i.e. shower head spraying all over the place, hot water short lived, screws missing in safety devices (door lock), smoke detector hanging off wall with no batteries, swimming pool and hot tub very dirty and non-functional. I was the only guest for 4 out of 5 nights. Disabled vehicles in the parking lot. No breakfast served, ice machine non-functioning. Furniture uncomfortable, no relaxing here. BUT very clean.
convient to border
Modest clean hotel
This is a modest hotel in a border town with Mexico. There was adequate but noisy air conditioning (very necessary in daytime). The cooking facilities consisted of a microwave and a small (dormitory size) refrigerator. Everything was clean. Free wifi and plenty of parking. Staff friendly and helpful. Facilities were appropriate for low cost.
Great motel, great price, great service...
It was a great motel, the price very affordable, microwave and fridge in the room very convenient, basic but very confy, cozy and clean. The receptionist very polite and helpful. I would stay in the same motel if i needed to stay agaib again in the town. Happy customer.
Nice older hotel
An older hotel in amazingly good condition. Convenient to downtown, on the former main road. The owners try very hard to be helpful: I wasn't able to connect to the WiFi with my laptop or my phone. The manager sat in my room for half an hour working on the problem before giving up. There are several older hotels on this street that are perfectly adequate, and substantially cheaper than the newer hotels that line the newer road to the border. It's worth the extra 5 minutes of driving.
Needs some TLC
One night before crossing the border.
Nogales!
It was fine short and sweet the hotel owner was great an was safe place to stay
The owner very nice and helpful It is an old hotel but nice for its age.It was clean and comfortable.
I am very disappointed, we couldn't even turn the lights on, because they were desconnected. The paint is coming out. Etc.
The hotel requires some improvements.
The gentleman that checked us in was very courteous and accommodating. The room had a lingering musty odor. We suspect it was probably the carpet. They did not provide enough towels. Only two bath towels, one face cloth, one hand towel. Not sufficient for a male and female. The room where the toilet and bathtub was located did not have a door for privacy. The knobs for the lamp switches were missing and were difficult to operate. The queen sized bed was equipped with only two pillows. The wife uses two pillows for herself. The ice machine was extremely far from our room. It required a key from a staff member as it was not functioning properly. The smoke detector began beeping intermittently indicating it required a dry cell battery, which a staff member immediately installed after I notified them.
One of many places to avoid on Grand Avenue
Cost was high to begin with; not worth it. Internet not functional, staff not helpful. We went across street to Time Motel.
Would Stay here Again
There was No Microwave & No Refrigerator in My Room #128... Other than that, Everything was to be expected for the Price
Great Price....
The manager was extremely nice and helpful with directions and advice on surrounding locations. Great price if you plan on staying for an extended period of time. Internet connectoin was good as well as all appliances in the room. I would suggest the El Dorado to anyone.
Motel review
I was not satisfied with the overall condition of the motel, it needed additional work to be completed, I came in late and tired and needed a hot shower, and had no hot water. The rooms were clean and the Owner was real friendly and worked with me finding the places I needed.
Expensive and Bad Hotel
Price is too high for the quality of hotel: -The room smells of spout -They offer continental breakfast, but do not serve it -The facilities are ugly and old They have a good location but there are other hotels surronding.. any other hotel is prefered than this.
Fine for a night but would rather stay elsewhere
When I turned on the light to the room I had to flick the switch several times to get the light to stay on. The light in the bathroom was a strobe light. The sink faucet needed replacing and was difficult to use. The shower faucet was tricky to use because you had to pull it straight out really, really hard. The bed was uncomfortable and hard to sleep on. The room was clean though.
never go there
do not stay there
Better than average for its price range
The name El Dorado Inn Suites is probably a little pretentious, because the El Dorado is not quite El Dorado nor was my room, at least, a suite. However, giving the motel namer the benefit of poetic license, the El Dorado is a step above the average for its price range. (I'm retired, travel a lot, and spend 60-90 days a year in a varied assortment of motel-like places. Typically my wife and I travel together, but since she still works, I sometimes travel alone, particularly to desert areas for photographs. I was alone this time.) My room was smallish, but adequate for me, with a low-powered microwave, frig, coffee maker, a very effective Carrier HVAC system, and a definite lack of available power outlets. I had to unplug the frig in order to plug in my laptop. This wasn't much of a sacrifice, however, since the frid was too noisy anyway. The big inconvenience was that the Internet was either having trouble or is shared by the lower half of Nogales. With patience, I was able to check email, but there wasn't enough bandwidth to check my bank account (timed out, repeatedly) or do any other activity. I finally gave up and drove up to the McDonalds which has free WiFi (the one on the way into town on West Mariposa Road – the closest McDonalds is in a Home Depot store and doesn’t have free WiFi). Since I was only there overnight, and was off at dawn, I didn’t have any experience with the local nightlife or neighborhood.
"Terrible Experience"
Not only the hotel looks dirty, but they promised to have a continental breakfast, but when I went to get it, they just told me that the lady who cooks didn't show up, so they didn't have breakfast that day. The shower in the room didn't work and when I explained that to the owner, he just told me that I didn't know how to use them, but didn't do an effort to check it out.
Room was dirty, many things broken, the front desk guy was nice but charged my card twice for $97 for the stay and I have not received my $50 deposit back. I think I may have been the only guest staying in this motel I did not feel safe at all. Thankfully it was only one night.
