The hotel was amazing
The hotel was hosting multiple events during the week & was constantly crowded. One night it took 20 minutes to drive from the hotel gate to the main reception. My room was old, water leaked in the bathroom which was constantly damp with unpleasant odor.
Though the hotel seems clean overall, my room wasn't. Infact my toilet had poop stains in the bowl. It was disgusting
I loved the vibes and buffet. Also the gym.
The food buffet was lovely
The room I was given was so ugly and dated that I only lasted 30 mins. Peeling furniture, a toilet that wouldn’t stop running and the view that I paid more for, was not a view at all. I am shocked that they charge that much for that room. I ended up moving to a different building. Had to pay twice as much but I knew I would not last one night in that room! Would never book the Eko Main Building again.
Love the staff.
The staff is nice. From the front desk, to housekeeping, to the servers and even the barbers
The hotel was fine.
It’s convenient for any type of stay
Eko hotel is my go to for a getaway
BEWARE! I travel for a living all around the world and don’t have time to review every hotel I go to. I had to write this review because it was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in any hotel anywhere. Management and Service is absolutely horrible. They are CLEARLY trained to say no to your needs and requests, and there is so much wrong that it ends up abtotally horrible experience. Broken air conditioners. Yellow water, promised rates then over charges, 7 HOURS to check in. they will lie to your face, Take your money, then you have to deal with the headache after. Nighttime the property becomes a hub of am unbearable amount of prostitutes, some quite agressive. I chose this hotel because the property is unbeatable! huge amount of space and considering the fact that there is nothing to do off the property. This was a huge attraction. Unfortunately, being stuck here was such a terrible experience. I spent the rest of my time at another hotel. I checked out as soon as I could Go to a much smaller hotel with much less space for a long stay, which was very difficult, but because of the improvement of environment and service, was totally worth it. . I reccomend Avoid at all cost.
Bathroom shower didnt drain even with 3 promises to fix it. Site boasts beach lounges, laughable. Site boasts “8min walk” to beach, but with what bodyguards?
Room 650, and the entire section where the room is located, needs thorough refurbishment. Bathroom door was dirty with rusts at the base, holder for shower head was broken, water from the shower sipped out to the floor through the sides of the glass divider, water was dropping from the AC vent, room needed paintwork, and then the cleaners topped it all up by leaving their cleaning buckets with dirty water in the hallway even after 9 pm. Experience wasn't worth the room rate.
Bad Eko hotel
Everything was just bad that I can’t go back to stay. The only thing they have it’s just the name Eko hotel 😩😩😩😩
The bathroom needs updating immediately. It looks very unhygienic and dated. I had to upgrade to Eko Signature. On more than one occasion, I experienced really slow service in the restaurants on site. I wouldn’t stay here again
Hotel was nice. Staff was excellent. What i didnt like was that my room was really hot. The AC was on and I could feel it blowing, but it wasnt blowing out cold air. The thermostat was really old, dont know if it even worked. I knew someone on a different floor. When I entered their room, it was way colder than mine, and their thermostat was a digital one. Also, did matter how much I tried, when showering, the water would come out of the tub. There was always a huge mess of water, almost flooded.
The hotel and its rooms are very, very old. Poorly. It’s like a ghetto brothel. Shameful indeed. Electronic doors don’t work, had to be opened manually. Safety deposit box doesn’t work. A risky experience. Bathroom shower cabby drain is clogged up. Waste water doesn’t drain out.
Horrible stay
It was horrible because I had mosquitoes all through my stay. Even when they said they have dealt with it, it wasn’t done. I also didn’t get breakfast I paid for because the kitchen said this was not the case.
The location was great but the property was awful. The main facility was dated and needed upgrade. When taking showers, you have water running every where and felt unhygienic. My son literally refused to take a bath there. Out of 3 days booked, we could only slend a night at the main facility. The 3rd night , i had to pay extra to be moved to the signature which was slightly better. At the signature, the bathroom had constant pee smell . The room was nicer and newer though. The signature was the only facility that remotely met the stardard expected for a 5 star hotel. The other buildings like the Gardens and Suites were too far away and dated as well. Overall, I dont think the hotel is worth the amount charged. I never plan to stay at this hotel ever again.
Eko Hotel - Good Location for Fun
Lovely stay
Staff were friendly and polite
Enjoyable relaxing stay with all amenities
The toilet is leaking from the top, TV went blank n never came up rill i checked out
Towels were old. The the price, they could have done better.
I felt very safe on site. The dining options are plentiful. I especially enjoyed their restaurant, Toast! The pool area was beautiful and the staff were friendly. It was my first trip to Nigeria and I would stay here again on my next.
Not value for money
This was a big disappointing and was not real value for money at all.
A woman came knocking the door severely making noises and shouting along the passage. I called to report to the reception no response. For an international hotel, this is vwry embarrassing and unsafe as i wonder how the woman got into the rooms area unchecked
Great experience
Great experience
It is in a nice environment.
First time impression
I enjoyed my stay from the very first day! The hotel staff are very friendly, polite and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure that my stay was a very pleasurable and comfortable one. The downside is that the that food served was very hot and spicy and therefore you have to becareful with food selection! I would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family abroad who is looking for a safe place to stay away from home!
What has to be understood first about this property is, It is a multi-hotel property. The Graden Hotel is one of the oldest buildings and it is in bad condition, with bad plumbing, mold and mildew. Eko Main Building is where all of the social activities take place, it is a nice environment; however, it too lacks in bathroom conditions: The bathroom shower floods and there is no ventilation. If you choose to upgrade your room your surprise will come in the bill: I was quoted $150 per day to upgrade, at checkout it was greater than $250 per day. I was robbed.
The toilet roof is licking, water frops on U when using the toilet, the TV is horrible not clear it's like not well connected and it's always happening each time i stay in the wing. The breakfast is also way below standard, this isn't the Eko Hotels i used to love staying some years back
I stayed at Eko Gardens. It got the job done. One thing I didn’t like was that I wanted to check in 2 hours early, but they were going to charge half the room rate. The problem with that was that the room rate they would use was not the rate I booked the hotel. The “half price “ would be more that twice the full room rate amount I was paying for my reservation. Given that I had reserved multiple rooms for 10 days, it would have been nice for them to have used discretion. Overall, I was pleased with the service.
Everything you need for a relaxing holidayis in this resort
Hospitality
Clean and safe
Excellent experience for my husband and I.
Absolutely beautiful hotel and clean. Service was great. The rooftop is exceptional, loved every moment of it! The only downside was that the bathroom ceiling was leaking of water.
Enjoyed my time at Eko hotel. The staff was friendly and the property was clean.
Clean room with a great view of the Atlantic Ocean. Will be good to check the AC for room 1110; only works on #3 setting.
No robe. Dirty towels
Never again
This place is all about money and lacking good service. Hotel garden is old and there’s a smell. What’s the hype about this place? I will never stay here again. For the amount you paid not even 1 free breakfast.
We chose to book Eko Hotel for a business trip as we were advised this is the hotel to stay at when visiting Lagos and is one of the best 5 star hotels on Victoria Island. We booked two rooms at Eko Gardens and were very dissapointed upon our arrival. Whilst the other 3 hotels on the complex may be considered 4/5 star, Eko Gardens is at best 3 star. The reception area is poor and looks more like a motel, as for the rooms, they need a lot of work. My room had cracks in the walls, especially in the bathroom. Along with a flickering light in the bathroom, it was a guessing game as to whether the water would be scolding hot or cold when showering, bed linen was not spotless and had marks, no batteries in the TV remote, and I had 3 cockroaches during my stay. I appreciate tropical countries will have bugs but in an alleged 5 star resort I should not expect to come back to my room and find cockroaches. However, I cannot fault the service provided by staff, they were very friendly and always went above and beyond, be that at reception or at the various dining facilities on site. If you want a 5 star resort, do not choose Eko Gardens, choose the Eko Hotel or Eko Signature, I would hope the rooms are in far better condition.
Service was very good. Everyone was friendly & made us feel well taken care of. Restaurants on site are good. We especially loved the rooftop restaurant & bar.
Air conditioning is not perfect. Bathroom has no 3 point electric sucket. Towels are old. No wash cloth. No toilet brush/plunger.
Food is a bit pricey though but if good quality.
Property is great with bars, restaurants and swimming pool in the resort and very safe. The only problem is the internet/wi-fi is poor.
Rooms were big, view was nice. Accessibility was good too.
Check-in was easy and fast
I had gone to enjoy the entertainment got to the entrance and an intoxicated guaasked for ID when they don’t ever ask anyone.
Rooms need upgrading
The property is great as always. However, the room is a bit old and bathroom is old too. Depends on personal preference, I will recommend this hotel because the land is huge and I enjoyed the movements in the hotel property since I lived there for a week.
Clean
Experince
amazing experience and value for money.
The whole list.
Renovation
My room is always full of ants all around the room the room needs to some renovation.
I had the worst experience staying at this property. I would not recommend anyone staying here.
Pros: Great location. Great staff. Lots to do on the property. Plenty of food and drink options. Housekeeping was wonderful. Check in was very easy. Con: Hotel needs to be renovated. The upkeep of the property is not good. Leaking in bathroom. Old furniture. No ventilation. Broken shower. Stains on floor. Mold.
The room was small. bathroom shower poorly constructed so water runs every where when bathing. one has to call for tooth paste, robe and tooth brush. for N198000 a night those things should be available
Everything in one place and safe.
I loved the pool, the hospitality of the hotel staff, the cleanliness of the property, the food (I went to the pool restaurant, Chinese, and Mexican one), the comfortable beds, gym (very large and lots of brand new equipment), the steam room, and activities available on the property ( Karaoke on Sat and Night club on Wednesdays). I am an avid traveler and I was in Nigeria for a traditional wedding. I stayed at the hotel (Eko Gardens) for about a week. The hotel was my home away from home and I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel staff were very attentive and professional and the bathroom was also remodeled. The non-remodeled rooms were also really nice as I had family staying there. I also liked that their was a local shop on the property where I bought my souvenirs and items for my family back in the US and never had to leave the property. Overall, if I ever return to Nigeria I will be staying here.
It
Needs a make over.
Property was ok only they made me pay for breakfast after confirming it was complimentary which was very embarrassing
The property is in an excellent location, rooms are spacious, land scape is gorgeous. It’s a little pricey but the people are much more welcoming. Shalom.
No wash clothes and bathroom tiles are so slippery. Also it’s so hot but the refrigerator is locked. Never served cold water
This place is all about money. I didn’t enjoy my time here at all. They need a better variety of food as well.
The Buffet
It has so many options you really don't have to leave the property. However the water being shut off was not convenient nor was the upstairs having chairs moving at all times of the night.
Faulty Phones and Unresponsive service
Stayed at Eko Gardens. The phones in the room had loose connectors which made it immposible to use the phones. I requested for an Iron on and it took 2 hours for someone to deliver it after numerous call to reception.
Great place to relax. Lots of facilities on site.
Great
The perfect place.
Perfect!
We had a great stay in Eko Garden. Comfortable king bed with large bathroom with shower, fridge, TV, A/C. The Jewel of this property is the outdoor pool area with restaurant and bar. Go in the evening to experience the beautiful lighted tree. I want to give a special thank you to the staff, who went above and beyond. Shout out the JOHN! He gave us excellent service when we had dinner, poolside. 5 star treatment!!! The breakfast staff at Eko Garden Suites were very friendly, attentive, professional, and extremely welcoming. We will stay here again and recommend to our friends to do the same.
I liked how friendly the staff were
About three tiny essential items were gone from our room and never to be seen again. It has caused us some inconvenience. But we have not been able to provide enough cash for tip, so we understand the imperfection.
The receptionist said at first my booking was canceled and referred me to reservation. When I refused and asked for the manager- my booking was miraculously fixed. Was sent to room 505- room was dirty and smelling of poorly piped plumbing system with no toilet ventilation. Went back to reception and room was changed. Stay was otherwise uneventful thereafter.
It felt secure. The room I stayed in at signature could use a lot of upgrades to the bathrooms. Amenities are not in line with the brand of the hotel. Showers are slow running with water the tubs look outdated the toilets need upgrades too
Optimal location
Excellent location for events in Victoria Island area of Lagos, but the hotel bars, pool area and conference facilities do get VERY busy during holidays for said events. Facilities in the Eko Hotel wing.
Great experience
fastest check-in i ever had, no delays, was in my room within 5 minutes. best room service response time i have had in recent times, they were always ready to give me the extras.
Wonderful experience in all
It was wonderful I love the breakfast and the view
Plumbing, Wi-Fi, need improvement.
My stay at the holtel was nice
Big name but terrible stay
Very poor services. Terrible internet connection. Very limited food choices. Never ever will stay here
I liked the security level, food range on offer & room space. I did not like the food price, inability to exchange foreign currency as well as non-provision of room facility tour(s)
Adequate
Check-in was super quick, room was spacious but outdated. Room service was not good at all!
Excellent
A lot of nice things about the hotel. However, I am extremely disappointed from my experience. I hold Eko hotels to a very high standard hence the disappointment. I presented my check in confirmation. (I had booked 3 rooms for me and my family), also another last minute extra room booking outside Expedia now totaling 4 rooms. Out of all 4 rooms, I was told I had only 2 rooms, we showed them the confirmation once again with the booking details from the email, but this went on for almost an hour while we waited in the lobby with a toddler and an elderly person. Eventually, we were asked to go resolve the issue by ourselves by going to meet reservations team. (This got on my nerves, we shouldn't have to do that, you should fix the issue especially after you can see that we booked 4 rooms), we went to reservations to fix it, and someone in there ended up saying we were being pompous for demanding they fix the issue. We later found that they can't track room bookings by confirmation number, only by names (so the guest rooms I booked in the first booking werent available in my name - well that is a terrible system). We finally get into the rooms, TV doesn't work, wifi SSID we are supposed to connect to for internet isn't in range, bathroom ventilation issues and mold buildup, shower leaks when in use, and expensive food. Every other thing was good, I didn't use the pool while I was there.
Main hotel, bedrooms need a complete overhaul, bathroom too, not worth what you pay for.
The swimming pool was great, nice restaurant, good security making sure everyone is safe
My stay at the hotel was lovely and the staffs was friendly and very helpful.
Nice.. but there food are too expensive… ❌
Ok, not inspiring.
Check in was fast. Why do we need coupons for wifi in this day and age? The bell boys were helpful. The Eko hotel main building was a bit deserted of guests during my stay. The front desk manager appeared a bit arrogant.
My first eko hotel stay
The hotel was nice but it needs some upgrade. The bathrooms needs to be cleaned very well. The shower area was nasty. They obviously don’t clean the walls in the shower area. The hallways are old and need upgrading. The 6th floor stair was opened so I was unsure about the security. The most disappointing was that I called twice to make sure our rooms were close to each other because my daughter can’t be on her own. That was not done. I was on the same floor but literally at one end of the hall to the other end. Not happy at all.
Excellent buffet breakfast and dinner
I liked that services were prompt 24 hrs
The atlantic view from the room was amazing. Hotel facilities waa great. Hotel was a little bit too busy for my liking and my bathroom drain was a mess as water took a while to drain while bathing and spilled on to the main toilet floor making it uncomfortable to use after bath.
The hotel is only dwelling on it's past name. The facility needs upgrades, Wi-Fi connections very poor, no power plug in washroom, air extractor broken in washroom, washroom door broken, customer service inefficient and unprofessional, dents all over walkways walls. TV not working properly.

Eko hotel gives almost a resort kind of feeling. I would definitely stay here again. Some rooms are better than others and more updated.
