Had pool side room, still very quiet and everything was easily available. Breakfast was good and kids had a blast at the arcade! Will definitely come back
This property was filthy. The bathroom had hair on the floor, the toilet was disgusting (the seat had blood and feces on it). Part of the hotel was Being renovated and this was not reflected in the photos that are posted on the site. When informed them about rendition the room, i was told that they could not switch my room and, since i had checked in about an hour before complaining (we checked in then went to eat before going up to the room), they couldn’t guarantee that WE hadn’t made the mess.
Great stay
We enjoyed the Eisenhower very much. Comfortable beds, clean room, nice shower. Good breakfast selections. Close to the battlefield without having to fight with traffic downtown. We’ll be staying here again!
The breakfast was good and always well-stocked.
Room was not ready despite arriving around 5 pm. Same issue for 3 to 4 people ahead of us. Went to eat and came back to no one at front desk. Had to wait 10 minutes. Room dated and not clean. Insufficient lighting in parking area. There appeared to be lights, but they weren't onnor were non-functional...not sure. Photos in advertisements looked nice, but once in lobby you can see place is not well maintained. I wouldn't stay here agsin.positives: good water pressure, plenty of hot water, comfortable (soft) pillows.
Please have doors propped open and the locks to the doors did not work so you didn’t have to use your key to get in
Just the basics
It was clean and basic and just what we needed for our weekend in Gettysburg. Close to town and the battlefield. Bar on site and room service. It's an economy family and dog friendly hotel.
Pleased but room for improvement.
Overall it was nice. I loved the warm pool!! Wish they handed out maps of the facility that also had times for breakfast and when the pool was open. It would of been helpful.
The check in, was bad, the room wasn't ready at 6:30, so we have to wait 20 minutes
When we arrived the front desk staff was very kind. The hotel looks nice and seems to be newly remolded. But once we got to our rooms the bathroom was not cleaned from the previous guest. We called and asked the front desk to send someone up to clean it. We waited no one never came to clean it. We decided to checkout not long after checking in due to how filthy our room was and that no one was coming to clean it. Again the front desk staff were very kind but we refuse to stay in a filthy room. Having checked out not long after checking in , not staying the night. The hotel refused to get in contact with us/expedia to offer a refund.
We were not impressed with the hotel at all. First there was a dog show happening that was not mentioned on their website at all so there were dogs yapping throughout the hotel. The little deli/ gift shop was not open either of the days we stayed. At 8 pm on the second night, I went to try to get a drink at the lounge. The front desk informed that it was not open and maybe open on Wednesday night, it was currently Monday. The bed was very firm and the pool area was definitely not as nice as the pictures.
I selected this property, despite it being a ways outside Gettysburg, because it has an indoor pool, restaurant and bar, which I thought would be great after spending the days touring the town and battlefield. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the restaurant and bar are only open on weekends. When I arrived, a sign directed guests to sign in at Aspire, the adjacent hotel. They assigned me a room in that hotel rather than in the conference center. There seemed to be only a dozen or so guests in the whole complex, and when I made my way over to the indoor pool in the conference center there didn't seem to be anyone in that building. It felt uncomfortable, so I never did use the pool. The rooms were fine and the breakfast was adequate. I imagine it's a great place to stay on weekends or in summer.
When we first walked into the room one bed loosk like some one slept in it, blood on mattress, dirty hand prints on all the doors, chain lock on door backwards and broken, womens eyelashes in the bathroom, fecies in the toilet bowl, poorly renovated, pictures are absolutely not of that hotel i can assure you. No one at the desk after check in, slept in my car after 45.mins of waiting.
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The location is nice, very pretty and quiet. The hotel itself is, a little dated. The carpet is buckling in the hall ways so be careful of tripping. The arcade is lacking. The breakfast is the basic spread you see at any hotel. The tv was severely lacking in options to watch. The ac unit we had was very old and finicky. The hotel itself has a rich history, and definitely has a spooky feel to it, if that’s what you’re looking for. The pool was nice, no hot tub as supposedly listed. The room was very clean which is very important, but we never got any house keeping despite not having any dnd sign up, and we were there 5 days. The hotel is severely lacking staff. So much we had to walk twice over to the attached hotel the Aspine, to get the card keys fixed. The lounge is nice, and the barkeeper was super sweet. If you go on weekdays the hotel is a ghost town, hardly any people, staff and any facilities (deli, lounge, room service is only on weekends) Not my worst stay, I’d stay again, but the hotel would benefit from a renovation of rooms, and more staff.
I've had many stays in many states as well as internationally and yhis was by far the worst I've ever had, especially since we stayed for no more than 8 hrs for an incredibly uncomfortable stay which cost me $251.44.
I would not stay there again. It seemed like a refurbished facility equiped with liquidation items from another hotel. Our tub was stopped up and we asked for another room which was granted. Not sure if there are elevators (i didn't see any) but carrying luggage upstairs was trying for me. The breakfast was good with a nice selection of waffles, fruit, coffee, juice, eggs potatoes and breakfast meats.
Only a short drive from downtown Gettysburg made our adventures during our stay very convenient, grounds were pretty, interior was clean and stylish, heated pool was the PERFECT temp so relaxing. All for a reasonable price! 10/10 We’d stay here again.
Great place
The staff was extremely friendly best I've ever come across and the beds and pillows were amazing the place was just a little worn down in some spots good breakfast unfortunately didn't get to test the pool that was mainly the area that needed sprucing up did room service very fast and tasty was limited late at night would definitely stay again
Disappointed
They need to take new pictures because the outside is renovated. The lobby is nice but my room was subpar. The door was painted and hard to open. The door jam looked like it had the door broken down and just a mental plate put over it. I couldn't get the dead bolt to lock and the there is a little slide bar that looked like anyone could easily break the door in if they wanted. The furniture in the room was old and worn. I wasn't impressed at all.
It served a purpose
Based on the pictures provided, I think we expected more. The indoor pool area is no longer in the same condition. Yes, the pool is there, yes it's accessible from the rooms, but it was rather "industrial" feeling. Most of the furniture around the pool was cheap and broken down. It looked like the pool had a leak at the base and the towels were obviously old and in need of replacement. The rooms were ok I guess, but I feel like we may have had a flea or bed bug problem. I killed lots of scurrying things around the beds and bathrooms and I'm pretty sure one of our kids got attached in the middle of the night. His belly had, what looked like 25 or more small bites in one little concentrated area. Lastly, I know bed firmness is a subjective opinion, but those beds were essentially concrete. It's well beyond time to reassess the replacement thereof. All that to say, the service was good. Everyone we encountered was friendly and always wanting to please. Wear things could be cleaned and kept looking nice, they were. But that's just "the lipstick on the pig". The functional areas that make a place what it is were just not that great!
It’s obvious that this place has not been taken care of
Our room was not like anything we saw on the website when we booked our room. The room is old and has been used hard. It was pretty clean and we were glad we were only there for one night. Walking in the building, it has chipping and peeling paint, the doors at the entrances were dirty and not enticing, the front desk had many pieces missing around the counter. The bathroom in our room, again was hard. You could see the old green tile under the floor that was down, the shower pressure was extremely low.
Hotel is really run down. Photos are not right. Pool was ice cold and area around was so dirty and in disarray. The hotel has a terrible smell.
Stayed here while I was in town for work. You can tell that the pictures are of what this hotel once looked like, but it’s nowhere near that anymore. The hotel is dingy, the wifi is spotty at best, multiple things around the hotel are broken or not working (including the front door). Speaking of not working, there is no staff for most of the week, except for some cleaners that start vacuuming at 9:30 pm, which is probably while the door hanger asking for housekeeping to clean the room was ignored 2 days in a row. The chain lock on the door is broken, and the locking mechanism in the sliding door that goes to the pool area does nothing, so there’s a metal bar you have to slide in place.
Check-in was great. Person who greeted us was friendly, professional and accommodating. This is an old property attached to a newer, updated one (Aspire). Don't expect it to have the frills of a brand new high rise hotel in a big city. This is, of course, Gettysburg. Most people come to the city for its history! The Eisenhower's charm is its quieter, quaint vibe. It's old-fashioned and disconnected from 2024, which is nice. The concierge at the Hotel Gettysburg said it reminded him of the Stanley Hotel in Colorado and he wasn't too far off that mark. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to who ever wants old-fashioned charm and a little mystery during their Gettysburg stay.
Very relaxing place
The property is poorly maintained. The rooms are in dire need of updates. The linens were stained.
The hotel was nice but definitely not worth the money charged for the room. The doors did not have safety locks and it made it very uncomfortable. Also the stoppers in the tub did not work.
The beds were very comfortable. The cleaning service was great and that's where the positive ends. The facility is run down. At one point the police were there. I don't think this facility should be on Expedia. When I book on Expedia, I at least expect an acceptable accommodation.
The beds were nice and comfortable. The swimming pool was amazing and the people there were friendly and breakfast was pretty good. Good place to stay in the price wasn’t bad either.
Checkin was ok, when we returned the first night our keys didnt work, batteries were dead in the door which they came and changed, 2nd day we returned which we left the do not disturb sign on the door as we are only staying a few nights but found our door wide open with some dude changing sheets, very odd and uncomfortable situation, next when we checked out nobody was at the desk so i just dropped the keys over the counter
We were in town for a tournament and needed a place to stay for one night. It was clean, safe and convenient distance to our location.
Never again
Horrible
This was the worst place we have ever booked. We stayed there for 45 minutes and then we called the front desk stating that we were going to check out and willing to lose the one night stay. We were willing to just drive around until we found a nice hotel. They were willing to move us to their affiliated hotel that was attached to the Eisenhower. They let us check the rooms out there before making a decision and we decided to stay at their affiliated hotel. Eisenhower appeared extremely different than the pictures. Not only was the property outdated, it appeared to be under construction and forgotten. It looked abandoned. We should have taken pictures so we could supply them, but we didn’t because we wanted to get out of there as fast as we could.
Good stay
Front desk service terrible in both buildings. The bar and food service was excellent. The room was great. The internet was terrible.
Very nice place clean quiet. Indoor pool with great seating. The gym was in a different building but you walked right to it. Breakfast was really good lots of options. Very friendly staff I would stay there again and recommend it to others.
The advertised pictures of the property not at all close to the actual conditions of this hotel. These pictures may have been taken over twenty years ago but this property has changed drastically, not in a good way.
Nice hotel
Horrible hotel
Hotel looks nothing like the pics.. horrible smell thru out the hotel.. busted doors… bad carpeting.. it’s not tacked down I tripped several times
It’s a hotel that’s not completely filthy that’s all
Close to downtown and very close to Gettysburg battlefield historic autotour
Don’t stay here.
We stayed here for Gettysburg bike week. The rooms are very outdated. The power outlets don’t work. The shower was nasty would not use it. Had to put a towel down. The staff don’t speak English good can’t understand what they are saying. For the cost of the room I’ll never stay here again. 270$ a night is a joke.
Great location for the bike rally I attended.
Our stay was not bad but if it is a non-smoking rooms, I don’t think we should be smelling cigarette and weed smoke from rooms around us. The pool looked very nice but was not very clean. Everyone that worked at the hotel was very nice.
Nice
Room was nothing like the pic on the site. It was very dated and needs updating. Chain lock foe the door was broken. Pool did not look clean enough for us to go in, altho there were people who used it. The restaurant, bar and deli hours need updating on the site. Nothing above average as they did just enough to get but. I do not recommend.
a nice place to stay. the breakfast was good, the pool was clean and warm, and the rooms were large and comfortable!
This once was a great place to stay but age and no upkeep it has declined. The hallways were stifling hot and while there appears to have been an attempt to update interiors they are lacking.
We only stayed one night, but the room was simple and clean. Didn't have time to use pool but it looked nice. Some rooms have doors directly out to the pool. We thought that was cool. We had an incredible price.
Crazy place.
Most ridiculous hotel layout ever experienced. Bring your roller blades ! Completely DUMB. No way to fully explain except to say limited access to poorly labeled room directions and long walks around a long, square, perimeter of rooms. Insane. Breakfast was good. Bed was good. Frig & MW good. Room cost excessive.
This property is one of the worst I've ever stayed in. The carpet on the 2nd floor looked like it was installed by a 5 year old. The parking was awful. They charged me $3.25 for a cup of coffee out of a machine in the lobby that most give their guests
Had to go buy bleach to clean bathroom before use. Needs revived, updated and better entry way into the center is missing a whole lots of things to invite, intice, or welcome guests. À
There is a phone at the front desk that should call other hotel and have employee come to you instead of your customers having to walk to them. I arrived at hotel at 5 pm to a sign that said desk closed go to other hotel next door to check in. We had already brought our luggage in so we had to lug it next door( only maybe a three minute walk) but it was 95 degrees and husband has a cane and breathing problems, so it seemed like a hundred miles to him!! But other than that we loved our stay. Need to fix your carpet on second floor before someone hurts themselves. Maid came by everyday and was very nice. Pool was clean and warm. Room was clean and comfy. Will definitely stay here again.
Partially updated and room/bathroom was clean and newer! But other parts of hotel are super dated. Arcade for kids was filthy, especially the carpet. Pool area is in poor condition. Gym is in different building and very limited-like maybe 4 working machines. Breakfast was nice and convenient for families.
Hotel stay for 4 nights.
Staff is absolutely wonderful! Always service with a smile. Cordial and sincere.
Awesome upgrade
Carpets not clean, door dirty. Room door hard to open and lock stuck. No amenities.
I was surprised that the aspire hotel which was the newer hotel had such big rooms with double King beds. Here is where I think they can improve - better towels- they need to throw the towels with any stains on them - the towels need to be thicker - the breakfast while the food itself was great.. the chafing dishes appeared to have been worn off
For the most part everything was good.
It felt rundown especially on the grounds behind and flanking the Hotel and once you leave the loby area. Room was tired and felt almost dirty. Staff was not rude but not especially friendly. I will not stay here again.
Hotel has seen better days
The hotel is fine for basic needs, but it has definitely seen better days. The pool is very shallow, and the water had a film floating on top over much of it. Much of the hotel is dated and in need of updates. The breakfast area needs a thorough cleaning.
Clean rooms, staff is friendly
The photos were not of the hotel, they were of the sister hotel on the same property. Very short staffed, not friendly staff. Pool area was very dirty, pool needed to be cleaned, beer bottles & empty pizza boxes all over the pool area.
Great property
Property needs TLC. Our wooden balcony overlooked interior atrium area. Wood was decaying. Hallways were extremely warm. There was an old washcloth left in the bathroom.
The beds and pillows were sooooo uncomfortable. Loved the facility but those beds are why i will NEVER book another room there.
Go elsewhere
All the pictures are not actual. The hotel is rundown, when you pull up the landscaping is awful and makes it seem the hotel is shutdown. The ac only worked on low. The shower was not cleaned had the previous persons soap bar in it. The towels smelled like smoke and bed was hard, making a rough night.
Vending machines were supposed to be working but I assume only accepted coins because the bill slot wasn't working. The room was not entirely dirty but I wouldn't say completely spot less either. There were a few pieces of random hair on the beds and in the shower. Overall its a convient hotel to go to if you need accommodations. Staff was griendly and the breakfast was really good. Just wished the vending machines accepted bills and the hallways didnt smell like sewage.
When driving to get to the hotel you go through all the beuty Gettyshas to offer, then you come out to what seems like a horror movie is filming there...nope thats the area of the hotel...the pictures do not show that they were updating and then just stopped...holes in walls, crown molding broken and falling off, doors not working...and to top it off there was a dog show and the hotel was full of Afghan hounds...no warning for other guests...we went to spend our 10 yr anniversary there and when we got into the room I cried for 10 minutes. I wanted to leave and go find another hotel but was told I would be out my money and could not get a refund. The indian receptionist/desk clerk was nasty and got mad at me bc I could not understand his accent.it was an awful trip and I will never recommend or visit again.
Staff was very unprepared! It was no where near a three star rating that it has. It’s old outdated and you’d be better off at a Motel 8! The water in our room didn’t even work! It trickled and took forever to get in the room even though we showed up after our check in time! SUPER DISAPPOINTING! NEVER AGAIN! Online pictures are A LIE!
The place was very nice. Staff friendly. Breakfast, ok. Bed and pillows comfy, tho the comforter could have actually fit on the king bed, more like queen size and could have been heavier. The shower was really good. My only real complaint was that the towels were OLD!! Thin and very rough
Go elsewhere
The hotel was not as updated as portrayed in photos. The rooms were dated. It also had a smell of wet dog and must. We would not recommend.
Check in and out was easy and workers were pleasant. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, warm, and had multiple options. The only issue was the cleanliness of the room, the mattress looked like what to be pee stains, and shower had hair from previous occupants.
The pool was disappointing. No hot tub and it was pretty chilly in that huge room and the water wasn’t very warm. If it was outside in summer it would be fine but too cold for the circumstances. The rest of the place was ok. Not great and too much money for what it was but no complaints about the room or the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was good
The locks on outer doors did not work. Locks on room doors did not work. Looked like the windows could have been entered before. I got into the room, looked around and promptly left. My loss of the room charge but that facility is in need of much help.
The building and rooms are very outdated and lack cleanliness.
A nice place
The property is very outdated, so if you're looking for a stellar room you're out of luck. The indoor pool was great and allthough small the arcade room was fun for the kids too.
Check in was easy and the guy remembered me from a previous stay! Nobody at the front desk the next day! Pool closes too early!
Dig on this
Older hotel. Super 70s feel. I dig it.
More run down than expected
I chose this place for the pool. I was pleasantly surprised that the pool was heated but half the pool area was closed. The hotel was more run down in person than expected from pictures and is not a place I'd return to until they renovated.
I loved the entire property and the friendly staff.
This is definitely an older hotel. No lights in the parking lot which makes one feel unsafe after dark. No extra chain on the door for extra level of security Very old tub which was a slip hazard trying to shower.
close to battlefield
The hotel was clean and perfectly fine. The front desk was great, however. The front desk went above and beyond for us during a convention my family was definitely not part of. Thank you.
Convenient for our Remembrance Day celebration as the ball was held in the ballroom at the hotel.
Very run down. Beds too low.
Fun time for pulling banquet always a good time
Bugs in the bathroom, cockroach on the nightstand, checked out early to book another hotel. NEVER AGAIN, stay away from this hotel! Horrible
Strange Hotel, fine if you're on a tight budget
This hotel is....strange. Our room was very dated, and did not feel clean. The pillows and bedding were odd, and the bed not very comfortable. The walls are PAPER thin - to the point where someone sneezed in the room next to us and my husband said "god bless you" because he thought it was ME sneezing. We did specifically book a room not connected to the pool area because of other reviews I read, so those rooms might be worse smell/sound-wise. It's nice that breakfast is included, it was fine. Getting to our room from the lobby is weird, you have to go through a pair of swinging doors that look like kitchen doors? And go into a weird space that smells like cigarette smoke to get to the elevator or stairs. After we stayed here, we regretted not shelling out the extra cash and staying somewhere nicer. I think this is an okay hotel if you're on a tight budget and need to stay within the Gettysburg area, but if you can afford somewhere better, you should.
Rooms were a bit dated..but bed comfy, nice combo of soft and firm pillows. Only there one night....
Not so great
Our door latch was broken. The pool area is disgusting, complete eyesore. And we had a cockroach in our bathroom. Sorry, do better.
Pictures on the website were a little more up to date than what our room was. It was a little tired. But it was very clean and staff was very helpful! It had great amenities which outweighed the tiredness. We were there for a family reunion and the tables in the pool area were great!
Gettysburg getaway
Pool is the highlight!
Great location and hotel.
Excellent place! It’s a big hotel and it was quiet and service was outstanding! Breakfast was very good and everyone was friendly! Definitely would recommend this hotel.
Very quiet. A little South of Gettysburg, but worth the 5 minute drive time for the piece and quiet.
Acceptable if you have low expectations.
Hotel was okay. It shows its age and lack of care though. The carpets throughout the first and second floors were laid improperly so there are parts lifted up where if you arent paying attention you will trip over. The mattresses in our room had what looked like vomit stains on them under the sheets on the sides, our room absolutely reeked of chlorine, granted we were “pool side” on the second floor but you should not be able to smell it with the doors closed and the AC on. Good Luck trying to find an ice machine. The front clerk had us on a wild goose chase only for us to find out there was no ice machine on our floor. The bar and deli are only open for about 4 hours and only on the weekend. The breakfast was lackluster as well. If you just need a place to sleep after touring the battlefields it is acceptable. If you are looking for regular comforts though, look elsewhere.
Nice place to stay.
Very clean, good breakfast, comfy beds. Quiet. It would be nice if there were a chair in the room other than the desk chair. Enjoyed our stay
Just don’t do it
A little disappointed the restaurant was closed.
