About the smell of cigarettes

I booked a non-smoking room and the hotel provided a suitable room for me, but the room smelled terrible. A hotel staff told me that the hotel recently changed their policy and all smoking rooms are changed to non-smoking, but the room still smelled of cigarettes.

Great breakfast and excellent hot bath

Staffs were super friendly, hotspring was also amazing. The issue was the terrible smell of the bathroom, the hotel need de-humidifier and some deep cleaning

This was my first time staying at a hotel with an onsite Onsen. The facilities were first class and Dormy Inn have thought of everything to make the experience more enjoyable Walking distance to the train station and eateries, this is a great place to stay if you are visiting Wakayama

Extremely professional and friendly staff. Very accommodating and patient as I tried to practice my Japanese. Very convenient to Wakayama Station and many walkable options for dinner and shopping. Communal bath was a great amenity after a long day of sightseeing. Highly recommend and I would stay again.

Dormy Inn is located a short 5 minute walk from the JR Wakayama train station. It is a clean facility with very good staff. The relaxing onsen facilities are a highlight of this hotel. A very nice touch just outside of the onsen is the free ice pops/small ice cream bars in the afternoons and evenings, and free Yakult prebiotic drinks in the mornings. Although I did not try it, there are also free half-servings of ramen in the restaurant in the evening. Laundry machines can be used for free, with clothes dryers available for only 100 yen. Given how hot and humid it was in Wakayama when I was there, access to these laundry facilities was a huge plus. My room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was good. Overall, I thought the little extras at this hotel made it feel welcoming and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful onsen

The overall experience was good especially the hot spring facilities and breakfast. However, the bathroom inside the room was old with some strange smells. I guess people seldom use the bathroom inside the room.

2人で滞在でしたが、スリッパや部屋着等々が1人分しかありませんでした。連絡後すぐに対応していただきました。 掛け布団の汚れがありましたが、連絡後こちらもすぐに対応していただきました。 今回は以上を除けば、全体的には満足でしたが、プラスマイナスで評価は真ん中。ですが、またお世話になりたいと思っております。

Convenient access, however way below standards of Dormy Inn. Limited everything, pillows and towels and accessories. Onsen is less than well maintained, although it was probably better some years ago. Needs a new renvation.

Valuable Hot Spring Hotel in the city centre

wonderful, valuable hot spring city hotel. Very convenient, next to JR station and bus station. The hot spring facilities are brilliant and clean. The room is very decent size and the restaurant provided all you needed. Great experience.

perfect stay!

Pleasure to stay and revisit

Pls make reservation for car parking upon your booking and then I asked for an extension of parking time and paid as I think reasonable. The hotel is near to Wakayama station with around 5 mins walking distance. There is hot spring in 2/f & a late evening Ramen free for all which this is my first time experience it. Overall, great hotel, nice staff and everything around.

Midnight free ramen is a plus for our experience to stay in this hotel. Only 4 channels which we can watch on the TV. We couldn’t find any foreign channels. Inside the hotel was dark and gloomy. Nothing to do around the hotel.

A very special property. More of an oasis inside the city than a “hotel”. An easy simple walk, even with luggage, from JR Rail/Bus drop off. Compared to the tiny hotel rooms of Tokyo, Yokohama you will not believe how spacious Dormy Inn’s rooms can be. Make sure to take advantage of their wonderful casual breakfast. The buffet has plenty of Japanese and Western offerings. And if you take advantage of the genuine onsen the pampering continues. We are grateful for the hospitality we enjoyed during our all too brief stay.

Not bad, but dated and the room had a window but zero views, looked into the next building. Quite a few staff can’t speak English well, but they are mostly polite and helpful

Friendly staff. Small but clean room. But a bit of a bad smell in the room. Desspite all its shortcomings, A really cozy and nice spa makes me to choose this hotel again.

The hotel is a bit old and the rooms are not clean. When we pushed the beds to the wall, there are clumps of dust collected on the carpeted floor. The bathroom is also very small. The tatami floor mats are not cleaned and not well maintained. The onsen bath is very small with limited shower areas. The outdoor bath can only sit at most 3 pax. But the hotel staff are very helpful and friendly.

Room size is too small and the tash inside the room as well, cleanliness have room for improvement. The free of charge night ramen is good.

Great stay in Wakayama

Love the onsen and delicious breakfast with a wide selection of fresh local delicacies.

The hot springs onsen was amazing. I wanted to stay more days because we were enjoying it so much. The noodle were tasty and the ice cream was refreshing after the onsen.

This hotel provides extra services when comparing with other hotels, e.g. noodles for night snack, refreshment/ice-cream after hot spring spa. This extra services really impressed me.

Terrific onsen! Loved the massage chairs. Breakfast was excellent and reasonably priced. The dessert in the fridge was VERY good. Room was nice and clean… except under the bed. I’m sure almost nobody ever looks there… besides me.

The room is a little small but clean and cozy. The pillows are a bit hard and need improvement. The free ramen during night time is tasty, so are the free popsicles/ ice creams.

Although the name of hotel is Dormy-inn premium, the property is a bit old and not as goo as other “premium” Dormy inns.

昨年に続き、2度目の利用でした。 海で遊んだ後に家族5人で宿泊できるビジネスホテルはとてもありがたいです。 館内着も着やすく、部屋もゆったりしていて、朝食も海鮮丼など美味しいです。 温泉とサウナもあり、お風呂上がりのアイスを子供達は楽しみにしています。 子供達が寝るのでベッドをくっつけたら、下に埃があったのが少し残念でした。

Very good stay and great access

Hotel was centrally located. Rooms are fine, a bit small. Parking is not free and around 100 meters from the hotel.

Everything is good except for the room size which seems to be smaller compared to dormy inn we have been elsewhere in japan. Onsen is good as expected and free usage of washing machine is appreciated. Unfortunately only the men have an open air onsen but not the ladies. Parking could be a bit cheaper for guests although we have the option of parking nearby for 600 yen (VS 1000 yen in the hotel)

We love the bath place, which comes with 2 reasonably size onsens and a sanua room. The hotel also offers free ramen as midnight snack. Verygood bargain overall.

Fabulous onsen baths in the hotel which we used several times. Wonderful breakfasts and helpful staff all the time. Loved this hotel, a haven in our travels around Japan.

Like the hot spring and so close to the train station

Close to the station was super helpful to me, since this was my first night in Japan. I appreciated the really clean room, and nice Japanese onsen on the premises. Also, the breakfast buffet was amazing! Really delicious, well stocked and featured many Japanese foods. I was extremely happy staying here for 2 nights last month. I would highly recommend the Dormy Inn in Wakayama.

I love Dormy Inn. It’s just a thoughtful chain. Yes it’s small but it has everything one needs! Unfortunately we were there on a weekend and the place was deserted and most shops were closed so didn’t really get to see wakayama.

The hotel is in a excellent central and convenient location. The staff members are friendly and helpful. The free coffee and noodles are a plus for business visitors who may arrive late.

Fantastic hotel

Really excellent hotel with a good onsen complete with an outdoor onsen and a cold pool. The hotel offers free ramen from 9-11pm as well which is a pleasant surprise as well as free coffee from about 3pm onwards. The room is slightly small but it was a very comfortable and cosy room. I would definitely come back and stay if I am back in Wakayama again.

Comfy digs, great service, near JR station

We wanted a place to stay for a weekend adventure in Wakayama. There is not much right near the hotel, but it is a five-minute walk to the JR station and the bus stop for the ferry is just outside the door. I don’t know what makes it a premium Dormy Inn but it is a good member of the chain. It had a small bath including a nice outdoor tub. Breakfast was outstanding, including local treats like rice balls in steamed mustard greens. Noodle hour is always a mini-treat. Wi-Fi is speedy; everything just works.

Overall good stay. Good value in terms of location n accommodation. Decent onsen which may get a bit crowded at times. They provide a congestion report on the tv menu.

The best part is the inclusion of hotspring bath hall and the complementary noodles at night.

窓のサッシに黒いカビの汚れがたくさんありました。

温泉、朝食、夜のイルミネーション最高でした。

サウナが快適

温泉に入れて、お風呂上がりの気の利いた乳酸飲料やアイスクリームもあります。チェックアウトも11時なので、朝からも温泉に入れて、本当にゆっくりする事が出来ました。ドーミインはお気に入りのホテルで、何処に行ってもよく利用させて頂いてます‼︎

Best in Wakayama

It was a wonderful stay in Wakayama. Dormy Inn was icing on the cake. Hotel was clean and spacious, fun snacks during multiple times of the day... breakfast was a full on Japanese style buffet too! This is the spot for me whenever I'm in Wakayama. Cheers!

早餐真的是太豐盛了還有晚上的免費拉麵也非常好吃，重點是房間很大很舒服，最喜歡他們溫泉池外面的免費冰棒和高級按摩椅。
