V good
V good central hotel, breakfast bit grim but given room rate cant complaun
Habitaciones confortables y muy buen desayuno
The hotel is under construction. However, it has nice location and friendly staff. The service is wonderful!!! Location is nice!!!
The property design is beautiful and modern. The location is great so close to the main plaza. The only problem it has been the bathrooms the hot water doesn’t come out in the shower, the toilet doesn’t flush too well and there is a lot of mold on the shower grout. Kind of scary.
The Design Suites was a nice property with English speaking staff and good facilities. The breakfast was adequate. The coffee was not good and to drink better coffee you need to pay for espresso. But it’s not an issue. The shower/faucet was leaking, but otherwise the bathroom was spacious and good, The bed was comfortable, although a bit too firm. The pillows were great. Overall a very good value hotel.
Still our favorite place to stay in Salta. Beautiful lobby, good rooms, good breakfast, great location!
Hotel was perfect
Great location. Park across the street is ... interesting at night. Great hotel staff. Great corner room with a view. Nice buffet, bar/kitchen and great restaurant Resto in historic building. We really enjoyed our nine day stay.
Amazing massages
Ok, in need of TLC
Pros: great location in lovely city Large rooms kept in good condition Very clean Most (but not all) staff friendly and helpful Cons: Pool area is just there for photos. It was dirty and had no shade Bar and breakfast area completely unloved Nothing really wrong with the hotel, just needs a bit of TLC. Don’t that let put you off the city; it’s very charming
Great hotel
Great hotel, great service and staff very friendly. I would recommend this hotel. Location is fantastic.
The staff were extremely helpful and made our stay quite pleasant. The room decor was fashionable but not extremely livable. The room's lounge chairs looked good but were difficult to maneuver in and out of. Bed and bedding could use improvement to increase comfort.
Comfortable, clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, etc. but far enough away to be nice and quiet. Love that they were able to preserve the beautiful old building when they added the modern sections.
Great location, skip the breakfasts.
The hotel is in a great central location and walkable to most areas. It also feels safe. The gym could use a few more machines but is ok. The breakfast is not very good for a hotel of this rating. It feels budget. So much so we skipped the breakfast we paid for and walked to Selina which is a boutique hostel that does great breakfast, brunch coffee at reasonable prices.
Property was great for our 4 night stay in Salta! It was very central to the main square, restaurants so we could walk everywhere. The hotel staff were very helpful and made some good restaurant recommendations and were able to exchange money. Would visit again and stay here.
The staff was very nice but the overall was much below my expectations. Hot water were not available in 4 out of 5 nights. In most times they fix it after my call but not in my last night. The chair in the room are so uncomfortable. There is no desk for offline work (the hotel arranged me something after i asked for). The breakfast was minimal
Great stay in Salta!
Great hotel in the center of Salta. The bed was comfy, room clean, views from the room were great, and the staff was helpful.
Front desk was very helpful with making arrangements with tour companies!
Location good, property needs update generally, breakfast very uninspired, bathrooms need taps that work properly, hooks for hand towels sinks need good cleaning and face clothes don't seem to exist.
Liked the hotel, staff helpful, very clean, needed more toilet tissue in our bathroom had to ask twice as did our friends, breakfast was not very interesting could have had more choices.
Excellent, belle surprise.
invest in hygiene
We can't understand than as we made reservations in October, FOUR MONTH ago, and you didnt honor the request of just one corner room, of which You must have between probably 18??? We cannot understand how the hotel leaves the jacuzzi in such deplorable conditions, in most countries the vigilinacia sanitaria would prohibit this space or the whole hotel, this is really shameful. There is a big gap of profisionality between the front office staff, Daniela is excelent in her attitudes and language skills, where as some of the boys seem to be desinterested and not corteous enough. Room 705 has a problem with the shower that was never solved. With few efforts in human resources and infrastructure your hotel could be Much better.
I was pleased with the hotel, two minor things, one was that I arrived around 2.20pm, they told me that I had to wait since check-in only started at 3.00pm. That was a first timer, but ok. Came back around 5.00pm and they had to check whether the room was ready (?). I got one of the few rooms in the traditional area, really nice room but you can hear all the cars and street noise as if you were outside, so if you have a light sleep I would recommend to ensure that you are getting a room in the new side of the hotel.
Good location. Very helpful staff. The elevator arrives only at the 9th floor, and the pool is on the 11th. In the suite there was not a desk to work with a computer. The sockets did not match our plugs. Wrong distribution in the bathroom
The room was noisy and the mattress has no support. Our back was hurt the next morning. Fortunately hotel changed the room for us. Overall, the ambience was drab. Staff was professional but it felt no personal touch.
Great design hotel ! we had a very pleasant stay with reallly friendly staffs ! highly recommened !
Service was a little impersonal. Person manning the bar was also providing room service so there was a long wait for a simple glass of wine.
Great hotel, especially the older part. Tasteful rooms, good staff and decent breakfast, next to the old part of Salta.
Location perfect / rooftop pool with city view perfect / room spacious w perfect view / staff very attentive . Best place to stay in Salta .
Excellent hotel
Excellent hotel. Staff very good. Restaurant excellent but hours limited. Good wifi and AC. Good location on quiet square but easy walk to market, main square and main shopping area.
Enjoyable
Nice hotel. A little different from what we normally have but it was a real Nice experience. Friendly and helpfull personnel. Fantastic location. Possibility to use the swimming pool untill leaving for the airport.
The hotel is excellently located just two blocks from the main square and a few blocks away from Balcarce where the largest number of restaurants are concentrated. The rooms are comfortable, clean and modern, the beds are super confy. The hotel has a nice terrace with heated pool. It also has a fairly basic gym but with top quality machines that allowed me to maintain my training scheme. The breakfast is quite good although it lacks more options without gluten, in that sense, they did not offer eggs among their options or any relevant source of protein. Just on my second day I discovered that one could ask for scrambled eggs to be prepared, I would certainly recommend that they regularly offer that option. Finally I must emphasize that the hotel does NOT have parking as shown on the website. Either you have to park on the street if you get a place (which is difficult because it is a crowded area) or you can go to a private parking garage that has an arragement with the hotel. Outside of it, it is a very good hotel, modern and with an unbeatable location.
Great room space. Modern design and great location
Fantastic views and comfortable room.
Fantastic views over the city from our 8th floor room. Very comfortable bed. The staff were helpful. Fresh orange juice for breakfast and eggs on request. Brilliant location in a delightful city.
Excellent standard and excellent location: very good quality price
We just had one afternoon / night in Salta, but this fitted the bill nicely. We had a great inexpensive deal through Expedia (60 GBP) and we were really pleasantly surprised at what we got for our money - the cost lifted this up from average. Friendly service, good sized room, OK bath/shower room and an adequate breakfast choice. We asked about parking, which you could pay the hotel for, although the receptionist said we could park in the square outside for free, saying it was safe. So we did that and everything was fine, although in the morning there was a ticket warden around and we had to pay 10 ARS to her (don't quite know how it all works so be careful). But that's more or less free parking. It seemed well located too. I would consider staying here again.
great
amazing
GREAT
AMAZING
Great apart hotel recolleta convenientely located . Only down is breakfast room too small , had to wait 15 mins for a table but the bread was delicious
We got a room in the old wing, it was extremely noisy since it faces the street. The windows are old and poorly insulated and the noise from the street made it impossible to sleep.
Good hotel near central plaza and Museo de Antropología de Alta Montaña (MAAM) which houses the Llullaillaco mummies. Expedia rate did not include breakfast buffet offered to guests with local reservations.
One big lamp didn’t work, there was no complimentary water and there was no kettle and complimentary tea and coffee in the room. The air con also did not go cool
No Internet Service on Rooms
I spent 2 days complaining about the Internet service. On the 3rd day I was out. The room was noisy, big bed but without a table and definitely not for working since no internet was provided. Pool painting was disappointing, rusty and no service over the pool. The discount over Restaurant WAS NOT Applied!. I asked at Checkin for it and they say It was granted.
Nice hotel, great location. 1st floor rooms get a lot of street noise, but they were kind enough to switch us to an upper floor. Service was good, rooms are clean.
Great hotel, great location.
I had a wonderful stay here - perfect after a long trip through the desert. Really liked the location and loved the comfy beds and decent showers. Good views - the only downfall was the limited wifi in this hotel, I would have to go down to the lobby to get reception. If they fixed this problem, I would give them 5 stars for facilities and conditions.
Average Hotel
It’s in the city center and easy access to sites but its modern room design and furniture reduces its usefulness. For example, one cannot use the sink without splashing water all over the bathroom floor. Breakfast was okay similar to most other hotels in Argentina. One plus was English speaking front desk staff. Room needs some maintenance. It had cracked glass that made cracking noise in the morning once sun shined on it.
Good location and clean hotel
Great location to walk to local restaurants and town square. Clean rooms and friendly staff
Ok for price but don’t expect too much service
I was there on business and given a room that was in a beautiful part of the hotel. However, street noise was unbearable at all hours. I was then very abruptly forced to move rooms one morning with no explanation. It was a huge inconvenience as I’d been traveling for one week prior in another climate, had wet clothes drying and business items literally everywhere as I’d been so happy to unpack for 4 nights straight. Not to mention, I was out the door to get to the conference. I called down when I was all packed up and then was told that actually I didn’t need to move yet as my other room wasn’t ready, to call back in an hour. This was not possible for me as I was trying to get out the door. Then, someone shows up at my door and hands me a new rom key. Upon seeing the disarray, the guy did ask if I needed help, which I did, and helped me carry some of my things. The new room was fine and had much less noise so that was good. At check out I asked if my two bottles of water couldn’t be comp’d due to the room move inconvenience and was flat out told “no, you have to pay.” If you have hopes of getting a drink or coffee from the bar be prepared to wait 30 minutes for them to find someone to staff it. If you come in late and ask to buy a bottle of water from the bar, the answer you get is “no, it is closed.” Breakfast atrium is nice, food is ok if you avoid the eggs. Location is fine aside from noise. There is a great coffee smoothie place across the other side of the plaza.
Interesting addition to an old building
This is a daring concrete extension to a colonial building... but it really works! The pool and hot-tub on the roof are a nice place to spend the early or late daylight hours. Why do you have to walk the last flight of stairs, though, instead of being able to take the lift all the way to the top? The room wasn't exactly spacious, but was comfortable enough, even if the air conditioning was a bit noisy. Breakfast is in the opulent old part of the building. Disappointingly, the extensive buffet didn't, to the best of my recall, include any hot food.
Sweet Design Suites, Salta
From the moment we pulled up in front of the hotel, this was a great experience. The reception staff were well trained, polite and helpful. The hotel's design is unique, modern and stands out. Too bad the front faces a much bigger and overbearing hotel across the street. The restaurant is in what looks like an old bank building. Very clever and attractive. The free breakfast was good and more than adequate. Beautiful marble bathroom with nice amenities. Free safe in the room. Bed was comfortable and warm (Salta is cold in the winter!) Location of the hotel very convenient to the main plaza and many walkable attractions. It was good value for the money and I would definitely stay there again.
Nice but not good service.
Check in was bad. Was supposed to get VIP reception and did not happen at all. Room air heating was not working and the staff took ages to react. After all I received un upgrade and everything was right. The hotel is nice and really good located. The staff does not seem to be well trained on hospitality. Breakfast is good.
Gorgeous, large room
Amazing room! Very helpful staff. I got sick from something I ate, and they let me stay in the room past check out, until I had to catch a bus south. My only wish would be an electric pitcher to make tea instead of having to pay room service each time for just a tiny cup.
Spacious and modern accommodation.
A very pleasant stay at the hotel - very helpful staff. I fell ill and asked to stay in my room for couple more hours before transfer to airport. The staff at reception was considerate and accommodating. Really appreciated - thank you.
Excellent hotel in good location
Good central location very near the main square with plenty of eating opportunities. Helpful english speaking front desk staff. Spacious comfortable room. Good breakfast with plenty of choice served in the old building.
Old Mattress
Mattress was old and sank into a deep hole. Promised a changed mattress by reception, but did not happen.
Simple, Clean, very well located.
The room was nice and clean - whilst it was quite big it was rather sparse and lacked comfort. Bathroom was large as well but small shower/bath unit didnt make use of the size. The staff were welcoming and helpful and knew the local area well and were able to recommend things to do and places to see.
very nice hotel close to main plaza
Rooms large and comfortable; restaurant high quality and has lovely décor (dinners excellent; breakfasts good); workout room adequate; roof pool and Jacuzzi very comfortable. The one big issue is Internet--spotty to nonexistent in rooms (we had three rooms--all with same issue), which is a real problem. Routers in each main hall's ceiling link to individual floors, and other guest floors besides ours were weak too. Lobby and restaurant reception are fine, but you can't keep going downstairs to read NYT or check email. The hotel advertises internet access so this is something they Have to Fix asap (by contrast, internet reception at Buenos Aires hotels was very good).
Amazing hotel
The bedroom is wonderful and modern. We enjoyed relaxing in the heated swimming pool on the terrace while appreciating a very nice view
Stayed for a night after traveling and staying in hostels. Amazing amenities with a rooftop pool and jacuzzi. Gym and sauna rooms very cleaned and well maintained. Internet worked very well. Room had views of the city and large bathroom. Staff was very professional and escorted me to the room and explained the location of the amenities. Nice breakfast with a great variety.
good but lots that detracted
Contemporary hotel with lots of good points, but some real problems with service from the desk at times, enough to make it a pain. Also, they used the most noxious chemical to clean the rooms. I had to open the windows to try to clear the air.
Very nice hotel for a night in Salta
We stayed for one night and overall the hotel was excellent. Hotel staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke English well. Room was very large and very clean. Only issue was that the heater was not working, but the hotel staff was very kind and brought us some blankets to help. Breakfast was also very good. Hotel was close to many restaurants as well. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Salta!
Great Stay
It was a very nice stay at the Design Suites, it would have had a much better rating however the bath tub leaked and all our stuff got wet, there was no invitation by the hotel to dry all of our stuff for us. If it would have completed that it would have been 5 stars all year round
Awesome hotel
It was very nice and comfortable in a modern sense.
Nice hotel near the center of town
This was a great hotel near the center of town. Very modern and cute. Terrible breakfast but decent coffee.
Good for salta
Downtown salta close to the city center
A Fine Hotel in Salta
We enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room was very large and comfortable. Based on this experience, I would stay at Design Suites Hotels in other cities.
Central hotel Salta Argentina
We a such a relaxing stay in Salta after our 5 days in Buenos Aries. The hotel was central easy walking distance to key attractions and bars, cafes and restaurants
Fantastic views, gigantic rooms, modern design
Unparalleled confort in the room, lots of space and quality furniture. Buffet breakfast in the old part of the building, which has been refurbished elegantly. Terrac solarium with a swimming pool overlooking the whole city. Very complete spa service. Would definitely come back to this hotel.
Big and comfortable rooms, but limited amenities
The room was huge, the hotel is in a decent location, but the hotel lacks some standard amenities. The "gym" has two exercise bikes and one weight machine (no treadmill). The restaurant is not open on Sundays, so if you're looking to stay in, you can't. The furniture in the room is also not very practical-- for instance, there is no desk or desk chair for doing work at a computer. The black-out curtains in my room also didn't fully cover the window. So, overall, the hotel is just fine as long as you know what you're getting and it fits your goals.
Nice hotel
We would have given 5 stars except that the amenities needed maintenance. The bathtub was slippery, and one of us fell. The bidet did not work. Bathroom fixtures were somewhat inoperative.
beautiful room
we stayed for two nights in Salta and the Design Suites. Loved the room with its great view over salta and cool décor. Staff were really helpful with our travel arrangements and the town itself is gorgeous. loved our stay!
Great location, rooms a little basic
Room was a little basic. It didn't seem to have a proper ceiling as you could see the cork plasterboard quite clearly! Wi-fi signal was quite weak in the room as well. Staff at the hotel were excellent though and very helpful. Hotel location is excellent as well as it is very much in the centre of town close to the main plaza/museums as well as restaurants.
Near the Center of Town but Quiet
I enjoyed the hotel very much as it's only a couple of blocks from the main square, but on a fairly quiet street right across from a small park. This hotel is a modernist, "artsy" one, where they hang photos and objects d'art on the walls, and have postcards of some of these for you to take or mail. The staff was very courteous and most speak good English. My room was quite comfortable and very clean; the bathroom had nice amenities. The TV has lots of channels and you can get some English programs; each room has it's own heater/AC, and windows which open if you prefer fresh air. The rooms come with a breakfast - it's pretty standard buffet fare, and they will be happy to cook eggs to order if you ask. Their coffee is great! I note it's part of a local chain with hotels in BA (Recolleta), Barioche and Calafate, and I wouldn't hesitate to try any of the others. And if you want to stock your room with a local wine, I was suprised to find out that most convenience stores in Salta do NOT sell wine or beer, but did find a great wine store just a couple of very short blocks from the hotel - it's on Caseros between Balcarce and Alberdi - it has a huge selection of wine and beer, as well as cheese and meats. Don't know the name; bring cash as credit cards not accepted. Oh, and if you need to get cash from an ATM in Salta, do NOT wait until Saturday; for some reason the lines for the ATMS are VERY long!
Cool, Authentic and Helpful
We loved this hotel. It has a cool modern feel close to the heart of the city, with plenty of Argentine flavor. The restaurant is good, the bed was comfortable, and the service was great. The only issue we had was when the city cut off water to the hotel. I went down to let them know and the person on staff at first wasn't extremely apologetic (regardless of the source of the issue). I expressed frustration, and they later apologized in the form of a food/drink voucher, free late checkout and option to move rooms. This was appreciated. We also stayed at a hotel right on the plaza, and Design Suites was far superior. Stay here!
Excellent hotel ingreat location. Not all the "design" details work - as noted elsewhere, the blackout curtains don't completely cover the windows. Our bathroom was laid out backwards, so getting in and out of the shower was a little tricky. But the room was spacious and comfortable, and hotel service was excellent.
Great value!
A remarkably clean and well-appointed hotel near Balcarce Street and downtown in Salta.
Excellent
Overall excellent. This is a great hotel property, rooms are spacious with great views, great location. Very good breakfast. Staff are professional, personable and helpful. Special mention to Ines, Christian and Martin. Highly recommend to try the Osado sandwich from the bar menu....amazing.
Close to everything
An excellent choice if, like us, you plan staying for 2-3 days in Salta. Clean and meticulously maintained, helpful stuff. Close to everything. Well deserves its 4-star rating. The bar and restaurant seem overpriced if you are buying Argentinian pesos at the official exchange rate. The pool was somewhat smaller and poorer maintained than the property overall, but the gym, sauna and steam room were great
A very modern, stylish hotel in a great location.
The location of this hotel cannot be beat. It is right in the middle of Salta with all the local attractions easily reached by foot. The rooms are slick, bright, stylish, and spacious, and if you are on a higher floor, you get some really good views of the city, even if you are on a lower floor, you can always go up to the rooftop swimming pool which shows these same views of the city. Staff are extremely friendly and willing to help, and when we had a problem with the hot water in our room, they moved us to a better and higher one rather than have us deal with maintenance people in the room trying to fix it. The wifi was terrible though, constantly dropping and slow at best. We never tried the restaurant as our package did not include breakfast, and their breakfast was way too expensive, especially when you are right in the center of town with so many cafes around. If you have a car, parking around the hotel can be tricky, but is very cheap if you park on the street (if you can find it) the hotel itself does not have parking, but they send you to another parking lot where they charge a premium, best to park on your own. Over all, it is highly recommended.
excellent
I was supposed to stay at the hotel for 2 nights, however due to flooding on one level they have to put me into another hotel for the night. Any difference in price was covered, and I was upgraded to a better room for the second night, and given free dinner & breakfast. While I was tired and grumpy after a long day of travelling and arriving quite late, the staff stayed professional, and assisted me in going to the other hotel, and while I was on a tour the next day, my luggage was brought back to the hotel for me. Apart from inconvenience of having to have everything packed up early in the morning before I left on my tour, I can't complain about the service or facilities.
Stylish in Salta.
Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, who really ensured our stay in Salta was first rate. Everything about the Design Suites exceeded our expectations and we are returning again.
Design Suites Salta
A real oasis in a very delightful city. Located on Belgrano square it's very quiet. Excellent facilities throughout and even bacon and eggs for breakfast; unusual in Argentina. Ugly building; wonderful hotel.
Beautiful Salta region
We enjoyed two nights in Salta and the Design Suites hotel was perfectly situated for our purpose. The staff were helpful and the buffet breakfast was excellent.
A too expensive hotel
The room is very noizy, the staff not efficient, the the bath room very old. Too expensive hotel regarding the quality of the room.
Noizy
We we arrive at 11pm our room was not ready. Moreover the isolation between the room is terrible, you can hear every noize. The window don't have shutter, therefore you have a lot of light in the morning and more noize from the street. The jacuzzi of the hotel was not in service. The staff was unusefull at all. For the price of the room, it is absolutely not a good deal.
nice, modern hotel in the prime area
We stayed 3 nights. Hotel looks like new. Rooms are large and modern. Wireless internet worked without problems. Service was good. We did not eat here so we can not rate the hotel's food. We had suite on the 7th floor and the view was great. The location is prime. We would recommend this hotel.
super stay, modern and cool in the meantime
we enjoyed much, will come back once again.
Excellent modern hotel
We were very pleased with all aspects of this hotel and found the staff helpful and friendly. Rooms were big and clean and modern too!
Great location and good 4* hotel
The Design Suites is 2 blocks from the main suqare ) de Julio and near to most interesting sports in Salta. The most typical area for restaurants (but mainly pubs) is 7 bloks away, it can easily be reached walking or by taxi, which are very cheap. My oom was huge and very confortable, the staff very gentle and helpful and I did enjoy my stay.
Good Expirience
Nice modern & large rooms, Pool on roof top, verry design.
Great choice
Contemporary hotel with big rooms and big breakfast. Close to everything and staff was super friendly and helpful.
Hotel is fine, but I am not especially impressed
Stay was fine overall. Still there were some drawbacks for a hotel of this quality: 1) Breakfast not included in the room rate and very expensive to be taken separately (price is well above comparable breakfast options outside the hotel) 2) Parking not included and expensive when compared to parking options outside the hotel
Good value for money
Spanking new, very modern, clean and great view of the city from the room. Some of the info regarding the hotel on expedia was not accurate such as free parking, DVD player etc...
If your face fits, you´ll be fine. Pack the Mulberry luggage.
This hotel is fine apart from the staff. I found them to be extremely discourteous and rude. I am travelling around Argentina with a rucksack, but it is so compact that it looks more like a soft travel bag, no untidy straps, buckles etc. When I first arrived and at various times during my stay I was treated like a mere problem by the staff, especially Guillermo, who seems to be the guy in charge. I found it disappointing that the staff could not see that actually I was just like other guests, wanting to enjoy my time in Salta and my stay at the hotel. On the day of checkout they insisted on checking my room completely before letting me checkout. Something that no one else in the queue had to do. Overall, my impression is that if you turn up with the right look you´ll be fine. It seems a shame though that people who choose to travel exstensively and vary their lodgings according to location are assumed to be rif raf and not deserving of respect.
Fine hotel in Salta
Beautiful hotel, the suite big and stylish.
Modern luxury in Salta city center
Great hotel. Extremely comfortable, great service and good location. I love the Design Suites brand and would always recommend it.
The best hotel we had in Argentina!
The best we had in Argentina! We traveled to 5 cities and stayed in top rated hotels; this one was most deserving of a 5 star rating. The rooms were very modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great with a wide selection. Location was also fantastic; right across from a park.
Modern design in the old city center of Salta
This hotel provides rooms with a modern design. It is very well located, about half way between the old city central plaza and the Balcarce neighborhood (restaurants, bars, and the train station). The staff is very friendly and even let me stay a few hours beyond check-out time. The breakfasts are pretty varied and a good deal. There is very good wireless connection throughout the hotel.
Nice hotel, Excellent location
no hot water in bathroom 1st day, but they fix it inmediately.-
Great place..... Get a corner room for the view.
