Fabulous location within walking distance of all the Old Town.
Convenient location, easy access to Old Town and transportation. Simple rooms but very comfortable with everything you need. Breakfast had basic offerings but great option to get your day started. Roof top views are wonderful. Overall and awesome property for a reasonable price. Would def stay here again and highly recommend.
Enjoyable stay.
Front desk staff are very friendly!
I loved the fact there were a lot of dining options in a near vicinity, and that it was easy to access all the well known tourist locations in Prague from here. However one thing that let us down was having to pay twice for the extras we consumed from the minibar despite having proof of the original payment
Book this place JUST because of the BREAKFAST. It was fantastic! Delicious, warm and cold options, SO MANY OPTIONS! the look of the hotel is outdated I hated the red carpets but for the price and location and breakfast it was worth it! Location amazing a quick walk to old town square and all of the cute streets and shopping. It is on a pretty busy street though. The bed was very comfortable lots of room to put luggage out on the floor and on the shelf they provide, kettle also in room, bathroom clean and nice the shower tub was kinda tight I didn’t love the curtain but it was doable, big ledge to put your toiletries on by the tub. Staff was nice and helpful and always saying hi at breakfast. I would recommend this hotel.
Good breakfast, well situated, clean and good price.
.
Choose the same hotel 8 years apart to travel in Prague. It's located between the old town and the new town. You may need a bit walk to the main area/ Charles Bridge about 15-20 mins. Breakfast is nice and variety choices.
Great position but some issues with the room
The hotel was in an excellent position, the room size was ok and very clean. The breakfast was good and the staff were lovely. However we had a problem with our room (802) where the thermostat in the room clearly didn't work as it was SO hot. They staff were very quick and sent up an air con unit but that also didn't work properly and kept turning off. So in all it was a reasonable hotel in a great position but had problems.
Very good
At the edge of the old town city centre, so everything is walkable, but way too loud at night, at least when you have a room facing the road. Breakfast buffet offers quite a broad range, but generally low quality food. The hotel is basically a 9-level staircase with rooms around it. Must have passed it three times before noticing the entrance...
Everything okay.
The staff were great/helpful. Very disappointed with our room, we don’t mind dates but it wasn’t clean, dust, mould in the bathroom, fixings just about hanging on, that was on arrival. Our room was also next to the lift and above the dining/kitchen area. If you can avoid room 111 due to noise we would.
Great location Nice budget cafe and restaurant with included breakfast buffet Big room
This is a good place to stay. It is very convinience. Everything is within walkable distance. I enjoy the view on the roof top.
A terrific facility and location for the price. The roof top terrace is totally unique. Great breakfast fare and restaurant option.
Fantastic hotel, great location, was easy to get to everywhere on foot and Mustek underground station close by. Short walk to Charles Bridge and Wenceslas Square as well as most of the old town. Breakfast buffet was super, staff were super helpful, storing bags on checkout day was cheap and easy. We recommend this hotel after 3 days there. The only complaint was that there were not enough power sockets in the room and the kettle had to be used on the floor in the corner not on the table where we found it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay 😁
Location is superb, Helpful and smiling staff
It was perfect hotel but it’s not good with babies and we payed for parking The hotel location is perfect
Very good and friendly staff. We enjoyed.
Basic
Basic hotel. Slow reception and beds not confortable. Breakfast is ok. Location is ok Stayed ome night.
Value for money
Nice clean cost effective Hotel in centre of Prague , with easy reach to different types of transport. With few minutes walk to the most important tourist attractions
Good location and good price
We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again on a future visit to Prague. All staff were very helpful and friendly.
Very decent hotel in the very hearth of the Old City
Very good location
Clean quiet room in a good location for the city centre and tram links. No hot drink making facilities in room only a mini bar.
Central hotel ticked all my boxes
Great central location. Decent breakfast. Room comfortable. Reasonably priced. Only minor issues: elevator lift was a bit slow, odd room decor (red carpet and curtains), unusual bedding with two separate single duvets for a double bed.
Nice hotel in a nice area!
Hotel is definitely worth the money regarding the area and the comfort in the rooms. Good service also! The only really back draft was the breakfast which was not good at all. But you there is free instant coffee and a water boiler on the room and many very nice and cheap cafeterias close. Don't bother about some of the bad reviews below. I found nothing of what sort during my four days stay here. The roof top area is also very nice and easy accessible to relax some at.
The man at reception michal was extremely rude. Most of the staff were not friendly at all. Very small hotel with very small rooms. Not clean at all. Uncomfortable bed.
Very Clean, Had everything that anyone would need for a weekend break. Breakfast surpassed any expectations and was plenty of choice for anybody. The only negative I have with the property was that a couple of nights it was very noisy. I think the noise is something that has to be sacrificed for the great location and excellent breakfast provided.
Excellent location, walking distance to most of the attractions, restaurants, shops, mini markets. We love the area very much.
Do not stay here
I travel several times a month for work and pleasure all over the world. This is the worst hotel I have ever seen. Im not even sure it can be called a hotel. We were greeted warmly by the smell in our room - someone or someones had fornicated all over that room. The maids have no blame. The revolting room is covered in a thick shag red, out of an Austin Powers movie. The staff are mostly rude (except the maids who may have the worst possible job). The breakfast room is tastefully decorated in soft core porn and the breakfast staff put their hands on the food, eating it while they spoke loudly.
Rubbish hotel
Hotel cancelled our booking prior to our arrival without telling me leaving us with nowhere to stay. Thanks
The location is fabulous. The breakfast offers good variety. The staff were efficient and helpful. Most of the basic amenities are provided - a safe, soap/ shampoo/ moisturizer. The storage space is very small. If there are two people in the room it is not possible to unpack as there were only 5 hangers and a few small shelves - no drawers at all. So you live out of your suitcase. Our room was too warm and even with help from the staff we couldn’t correct that. It was impossible to leave our window open because of street noise.
We liked its location walking distance to main tourist attractions. Liked the roof top terrace. Was dissapointed witht he view from our room very different from the one on the add, my view was a outdoor wall I was a bit dissapointed of that. Overall good stay
great location
Over all this hotel is a good choice...right on Main Street with shops and restaurants galore....breakfast was very well done with plenty of choice’s....but all hotels charge @$21 per person per night tax...so be ware hotel prices might look good but read any small print possible. Rooms are very small but they are nice.
great location. wonderful breakfast. basic but sufficient nicely decorated rooms. very cold service.
Good location, good breakfast, friendly staff
Great hotel, great location.
Very nice hotel in a great location. Price was good. Near the heart of this wonderful city, short walk to the train station. Staff was very helpful.
The staff was very accommodating and cheerful. The breakfast was well done with a large variety / selection. The only disappointment was the rooftop area didn't offer much.
Location is very good, hotel is quiet. Staff is average
Muy bueno todo, excelente ubicación, muy buena comida y el personal muy atento 100% recomendable
PRAGUE VACATION
Great trip to Prague. Close to nightlife.
It is in the Old Town but only half a mile from the New Town. Easy access to all the interesting sites, tram station and shopping areas.
Prague Central
Professional staff
Well located close to both tram and Metro stations. The breakfast buffet is pretty good although some variety would be a good addition. If you book the top floors you may get the 'shopping centre view' rather than the 'city rooftop views' they use in all their promotional photos - not nearly as glamorous. But the rooftop area is a nice place to sit, have a drink and enjoy the view.
The concierge Stefan was fantastic very welcoming and knowledgeable about his city. The roof terrace was great fantastic views.
good location, good breakfast but very small room.
Rooms and bed was too small, could use a microwave in the room for the price
Very nice location. Staff are helpful and friendly.
AVOID AT ALL OR ANY COST
Warning!!!! This hotel was barely two star. First the elevator was not in service first 3 days/nights.Then the front desk clerks were all quite rude. The bright red shag carpet was old and stained. The only good thing was location and breakfast. Also, the wifi was almost always impossible to connect to.
Centrally located and quite clean. Nice breakfast buffet with variety. Staff not smiling though, and not very polite
Great location!!! Very close to old city center, 6-7 min walk. No need to use public transport to main attractions of the city. There is also a mall with supermarket just across the street. Breakfast was fine. Only disadvantage is rooms are REALLY small. But it is large enough for short stays for two people...
If you are booking the Castle view room, here what you'll get!! is that awesome?
Fantastic location. Very quiet and clean.. the view from our room was stunning
Room was very small and stuffy. 2 single beds in our double room wasnt ideal
A basic hotel without the bells and whistles. Good location that sits between the old and new town. Having said that, I supposed the price could have been lower for the fact that everything about the hotel is just so basic.
The hotel was modern and breakfast was great. It was a 10 minute walk to the powder tower and astronomical clock.
It’s look better on profile !! Poor facilities and breakfast really poor
Stayed here for 2 nights, easy to find from the metro system, although Prague can be a bit confusing to find your way aroumd. The room was good standard, just the bed was a bit too soft, and en-suite bathroom was small for me. The hotel has a rooftop terrace with good views across the cityscape . Breakfast was continental and plentiful .
The hotel room was clean and tidy with fresh towels each day. We couldn’t fault the location, all of the main tourist attractions are within walking distance.
Good location and comfortable
Centrally located within the city. Staff were helpful upon arrival. Easy check-in and was highlighted that they have a rooftop access for all guests. Great views of the city from above.
Trendy hotel in nice area near main parts of town within 10 minutes of walking. I had top floor room which looked exactly like in the picture. View was very very cool but room is small and not alot of space. Housekeeping and the breakfast was abslutely wonderdul. Really nice and clean and cool hotel to stay at. 👍
Fantastic location!! The hotel staff if exceptional, especially front desk/concierge. Roof top terrace can't be beat!! Loved it!
Property was fine but room did not have a view. We were looking at the back side of another building about 25 ft away
very centrally located, ideal for everything
Right in the heart of central Prague, literally within walking distance for everything; shops, restaurants, tram/bus stops. Perfect in terms of location, we could not have chosen better. Hotel staff were mostly friendly, apart from the guy who told us we weren't allowed to sit at the front part of the restaurant near the door as there were no seats, telling us 'this is for non hotel guests only, in case they want to come in.' Fair enough you would think except he allowed other guests to sit there, younger more attractive female guests. When we checked-out very early around 6.30am reception staff booked us a taxi and prepared a couple of takeaway bags as we'd miss breakfast which was delightful and very much appreciated. The room, while small and sparsely furnished was adequate, clean and did the job well, serving as a good base for our belongings whilst we went exploring Prague. Would defo recommend and would stay here again.
We want more friendly deal
Room is interesting design and clean, but person in front was not quite trained and not so friendly. I was not comfortable when we checked in.
Situated in the heart of Old Town Prague
We had a truly pleasant stay at Design Metropol. It was not a 5 star hotel, however the customer service was 5* and they catered for our every need. The room was an upgrade as requested to the 8th floor with wonderful views. The room was not very big, but was clean and comfortable. Can not thank the reception staff enough, very friendly and accommodating. All speakers English well. The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of the hotspots and the Old Town. We would definitely come here again!
No ice, great location was the best for walking to sights
Nice hotel for visiting the old town.
Wonderful views from the rooftop terrace. Central location. Not the usual type of hotel, however offered very comfortable accommodation. Highly recommend.
Perfect Stay
Great hotel right in the heart of the city. Easy 5 minute walk to the Old Square and 10 mins to the Charles bridge.
Well positioned Hotel.
Arrived at Hotel early evening. Reception staff very welcoming and check in very easy. Nice young lad named Jacob showed us to our room and showed us how to use the window opener and aircon. Room a decent size for a standard room and the bathrom nice also. As for the room comfort, here is were it fell down a little. There are 2 plastic chairs. One impossible to get out off because of the so called modern design, and the othe very uncomfortable to sit on as the edges dig in to the back of your thighs. The bed was so low it was like sleeping on a futon !! We had great dificulty getting ourselves off the edge of the bed. As pensioners an extra or higher matress would be a lot better. It just made trying to relax in the room more dificult. Having said that, we could not fault the Hotel as a whole. The Staff, food and central location made for a good stay in Prague.
Very nice experience. Clean rooms and friendly and helpful staff.
Not a 4 star hotel, but good location
It's worth noting before staying in the design metropol hotel I had been in another 4 star hotel in Budapest. For my reservation, I paid for a superior room with views which ended up overlooking a department store and a Main Street which I didn't anticipate. The general cleanliness wasn't amazing, and the room seemed well used. I was surprised to find in the room there was no guide on telephone numbers, hotel details and also no tea/coffee making facilities. I couldn't get my TV to work, I could've been doing something wrong but the battery closure had come off. Also note that there are 3 plug sockets on one side of the bed, but they are all occupied by the reading lights, so you will need to sacrifice light for plugging devices in. On a more positive note the breakfast was good but not amazing and the location is very central, the view from the 8th floor is truly amazing despite the random mix of outdoor furniture. Lastly I was also put off by the staff being quite unfriendly and their taxi service costing €25 as a flat rate when I had paid €20 on a meter from the airport on arrival, overall if I knew what this hotel was like before I definitely wouldn't have booked it, but it's bearable for a short stay.
Location, location, location.
Location is perfect for a break in the city very close to everything you could want and need on your holiday. Excellent views from the top of the hotel that any one can use. Staff couldn’t have helped more if they tried and always looked happy to see you.
Christmas in Prague.
What a lovely hotel this was ,staff very helpful and friendly, Food was very nice particularly in the cafe, the cakes were delicious. Room was comfy and clean. The hotel is well within walking distance of all the shops and markets.
Excellent location
Our hotel was very central and perfect for seeing the city. The room was clean and comfortable, if a little basic. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Our breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. As the hotel is on a main road you would expect a little noise however, the electric window in the room didn't shut fully (about 1cm gap) making it very noisy at night. We should have reported the fault but were busy enjoying the sights of Prague.
Modern hotel
Amazing location! Had a blast! Rooms were clean, comfortable, had a safe, fridge, blow dryer, breakfast was good, walking distance anywhere around Prague. Not more then 15 minuets walk.
Ok hotel , breakfast good , people reception , bellman. Servers etc could be nicer to tourist after all that is their business and there are in it.
Three night stop in central Prague
This is an ok hotel nothing more or less than that. Hotel is very well located for local sights and ease of public transport across Prague. My second stay here and it seems to have been less good than when. I stayed here some 4 years ago. A few examples of small (negative) changes include a 1€ charge for leaving your luggage to collect later - fortunately I did not use this as I had a train to catch that morning; charges for some types of coffee with one’s breakfast. WiFi requires you to keep logging back in - and it’s rather slow! And finally member of staff stands in the main doorway smoking as it’s under cover - I do wonder whether anyone is actively managing this place. So average it is. Don’t think i’ll Be staying there a third time - there is plenty of choice in the area.
Lovely staff, lovely clean room lovely food... what morecould you ask for
Nice hotel close to shopping
Very close to the shopping and the sights & there’s even a Tesco over the road to pick up little bits for your stay. Only thing is that the breakfast plates were really small so it was inconvenient to keep having to get up.
A convenient surprise in Prague
Perfect location. Very helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Room was small but very comfortable beds and very clean.
Great location
Stayed 3 nights in September. The location is great. Not more than 20 minute walk to virtually all the historic sites. Hotel staff was friendly and efficient. Rooms are small but okay, though some bath towels were worn through. Quiet, even though we were next to the elevator. A kettle and/or coffee maker would be appreciated in the room. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Plenty of restaurants of all types and pubs nearby if the restaurant in the hotel won't do.
Ideal for our needs
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for four nights during a short break in Prague. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff are very attentive and helpful. Location is ideal for shopping and visits to attractions. I would definitely recommend this hotel, particularly for a short holiday break or a business trip.
Excellent location. Good breakfast with a lot of choice. Great staff.
Perfect location & great hospitality.
Great location, exellent hospitality and amazon views of the old town from roof terrace. Very good breakfast. Also restorant/bar serves very good drinks and food all day long. Thank you to all for making our stay Great!!!
Very comfortable, very friendly and helpful staff,
We enjoyed our stay in Prague at this hotel. It is comfortable, friendly, clean and the food was excellent. Staff were so helpful and the cost so affordable. Location to everything just perfect
Good locaton
The Design Metropol is about ten minutes brisk walk from the centre of Old Town. Being across the road from the Tesco metro is a bonus as well. The room was very clean, modern, and comfortable. The air conditioning was efficient and quiet - a real benefit in heat of summer. My only gripe with the room was that we'd asked for a double bed but we given two singles joined together. Housekeeping was excellent each day and the breakfast was well managed and tasty. My only disappointment was how the reception staff were in collusion with a local taxi firm. On our arrival, we'd walked from the main train station to the Hotel (about 1.5 km). But, as we had an early train on the day we left, we asked how much a taxi would be. The receptionist showed us a card with the cost written down so we asked her to book a taxi. When the taxi picked us up he proceeded to drive all around the town and over the river twice to try and justify the price. As a tourist, you expect to be exploited by cab drivers but expect more from hoteliers who refer to you as a valued guest.
Nice hotel
Nice hotel, good staff and brrakfast. Very well located and clean hotel.
Highly recommend this hotel !
This hotel was brilliantly located : 4-5 mins stroll to Old Town Square one way & 4-5 mins walk to Wenceslas Square another way. Hotel is modern & clean. Service was friendly & efficient. Buffet breakfast was lovely, fresh food & good variety.
Nice neat hotel
Excellent and convenient. Nice restaurant and breakfast options.
Ideally situated
Great hotel in Prague 1, within easy walking distance of all sights, would recommend for anyone wanting to see the sights over a weekend.
Top location, superb breakfast, great staff.
The location is one of the best in Prague. Rooms were great, staff were superb, and the breakfast is excellent - from real fruit and runny eggs, down to coffee with proper frothed milk. You can even sit at the hotel bar/restaurant and have a nice reasonably priced drink. Bonus: a proper roof garden with plenty of chairs and amazing views. Has to be one of the very best hotels for its price range. Would come back.
Good Location
A seamless service from check-in to check-out. Breakfast OK. Hotel location is excellent - public transport just outside of hotel, old town within 5-10 minutes walk away. The strongest WIFI signal I have seen in many hotels.
This is at best a three star hotel. Tiny rooms. Terrible bedding - double bed with single quilts, pillows that are far too soft. Slow, noisy, annoying window "shades." Breakfast OK. Local area is fine. Getting laundry done was like pulling teeth - I got told how difficult it was, the local laundry was closed blah, blah blah - they did it in the end so what was all the fuss about! Wi-Fi was OK.
good location
carpets on the floors and walls is strange. worst beds i have seen in a long time - uncomfortable and staff was unable to stick them together, so for a couple - no go. tv on top of the wall - not comforable. cleaning can be done better.

Basic, but does the job
Average stay, does what it needed too. Very questionable carpet, very basic breakfast and very basic room
