This hotel began operation in 1909 across the street from the Alamo so it exudes history. That is why we chose it. Staff were welcoming and even though valet parking can be pricey, the reality is, parking anywhere downtown is going to be a headache, so at least you didn’t have to drive around looking for a place and you know your car is safe and handled appropriately by their valets. We scored a corner room that looked out on the nearby Alamo, with plantation shutters, upscale linens, and all amenities. As a historic hotel it shows its age, yet the rooms are nicely done. It was quiet and convenient to the Riverwalk. Would definitely stay here again.
Close to the Riverwalk
Hotel was a great location to the Riverwalk, it was very nice, clean, & comfy.
Historic
Historic Hotel. Had a great time at a fair price.
Great hotel in a perfect location
Hands down my favorite hotel in San Antonio, possibly anywhere. The hotel is fully of history and absolutely stunning. You are within walking distance to the mall, river walk and the Alamo. The pool is beautiful and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The onsite lounge and restaurant is both inviting and serves delicious food.
Amazing!!!
Was close to the Convention Center.
Being able to walk to everything was a plus. $45 a day to park was ridiculous. It was very clean but the tub was flaking bad. Very noisy all night outside. Alarms going off.
I stayed 2 nights. I love old, historic hotels.... Especially if they are haunted. I did not see any ghosts, but if you are in town to see the Alamo, you can't do any better. There is construction of the new Alamo Education Center going on right outside the hotel (as of the date of this post). Hotel is in need of new carpeting and an overall sprucing up on the floors with rooms, but the lobby is great. Very close to the Riverwalk with shops and restaurants. PARKING IS EXPENSIVE. I would stay again.
The staff was pleasant. The rooms very comfortable. The bed and pillows very comfortable. Very comfortable hotel with a great San Antonio flare.
Great location in central SA with a view of the Alamo from our room!
Deposit
Still waiting for my deposit back it’s been a week.
Davy, Davy Crockett!, King of the wild frontier!
Great deal and location…behind the CURRENT Alamo property. Once it was part of the Alamo fort property. Next to the Mall right at IMAX theater entrance…Morton’s steakhouse. Short walk to everything downtown. There is valet parking that is $45 per night, in and out whenever. Comparing with other local parking, in and out will cost more than that.
One thing I was NOT aware of is that there is no self parking available at the Hotel. One can choose to pay the hotel’s valet fee per night or pay for parking at another location. Overall, this was an unexpected expense and had I known this I would have found a different place to stay.
Room noisy
Does not warn you about the $50 parking fee
Very authentic and original close proximity to the Alamo dome in downtown
Great location close to shopping, dining, Riverwalk and the Alamo! Room was okay.
I had to leave the first night, loud noises throughout the whole night kept us awake. The bed was super hard and uncomfortable. We moved to River walk plaza
Lovely, historic and a bit quirky
A very nice historic hotel in a great location. The service from the front desk was impeccable. Room was nicely decorated and comfortable, especially the bed and bath. Restaurant serves good food. Keep in mind this is an older building so it has its quirks- we were constantly adjusting the thermostat, clock not working, no in room microwave, and the noise level outside was disturbing at times. I think the $45 valet parking is worth it if you stay more than one night.
This was such a better hotel compared to the other one i stayed at. Staff was SO friendly and our room was nice and cozy like advertised. had the best time! and it’s super close to the boardwalk!
Place to stay if you love History
If you love history this is the place to stay! The room was very spacious! Clean and quiet! Great view out the large windows in your room.
Very clean room and close to everything we wanted to see
Love this place
Place was great. Loved the live music in the patio and then the live music inside by the restaurant. Great atmosphere! Will definitely come back!
Love the historical elements, closeness to the Alamo and the beauty of the hotel.
Very enjoyable stay
Great stay!
Our stay at the Crockett Hotel was great! Love the tavern and coffee shop. The lobby was beautiful and exactly what was expected for a hotel this old. Love all the history. Will stay again!
Shoutout to Jesse! He was beyond nice, so professional. You could tell he takes great pride in his work. It was so convenient to have the bar right below where we could watch the game, eat then head out for a night on the town with bars/ clubs super close by. It was right outside the Alamo which the area is recently renovated so it’s beautiful. Even without buying tickets for the Alamo you could still learn about and get a taste of history by walking around the area.
Conveniently located, clean, restaurant in lobby
Great location. Walking distance to San Antonio's landmarks.
The concierge was very helpful and informative . My family of 4 has a great stay it was walking distance to all the sights the kids wanted to see
This was quite a nice hotel, right behind the Alamo. However, the hotel makes you park your car at a $45 rate, higher than places around. We found out this when we were checking in.
Great location. Rooms are older, and valet parking is expensive, but location makes up for everything.
Great place!!
It was amazing!!! Love this place and will be my goto place to stay from now on!! Great location, restaurant and bar. Rooms were very comfortable!!
Rooms need an update. Very dated
Cool place right near the Alamo. Easy access to River Walk.
Very clean and able to walk area
Would never stay there again. Valet parking is a joke.
Historic
The beds are horrible. The shower is cold, then hot every 5 seconds.
Very good exept for construction noise
Second Home in San Antonio
Our stay was better than expected even though the area was crowded, but Crocket provided a quiet atmosphere…Found the room is a good size, clean and well decorated and maintained…We found its location excellent; everything we are interested in a walking distance…We’ll repeat our stay soon!
Property is good just need some parking included.
No breakfast
Nancy at the front desk was nice and sweet . She let us check out later and that helped my situation. However the hotel did not offer breakfast and was very misleading from the advertisement. We woke up esrly and went downstairs only to be dissapointed by the worker saying they havent served breakfast since early covid 4yrs ago.. im like wow...
Alamo stay
Staffs very respectful, polite and very clean hotel
Holiday Destination Gem of a Downtown hotel
Very pleasant. Perfect location for downtown holiday events.
TV only worked part of the time and chair is not usable due to a bar in the middle of the seat.
Centrally located for the river walk and shopping at the Rivercenter mall
Mattresses could be replaced for sure
We enjoyed our stay. Our only issues was that the bathtub had pieces coming off and some rust on the metal part that the water would’ve touched once filled, so our children could not take a bath. But that’s okay as they showered. And our only other issue was the noise from the tavern or any other music outside. It echoed pretty loudly late in the evening. Making a little hard to sleep. Other than those minor issues, we had a great stay overall
It’s very dirty and the shower water would not stay hot or cold. It was on and off with burning hot water and then ice cold water.
Great service in the front desk, valet parking was awesome as per cleaning we found the restroom needing to be swept but other than that great location.
Very good service lol
Loved the convenience to Alamo and River Walk. Dining staff, breakfast bar staff, housekeeping staff courteous and helful. Desk staff so so. Room was clean. Outside of windows to bedrooms need cleaning. Food there was great.
Amazing location with a lot of local flare.
Couples Christmas Getaway
Beautiful Historic Hotel just steps from The Alamo. Very affordable and comfortable. The Crocket Tavern had yummy food and great drinks. Will definitely stay here again.
Beautiful hotel, gentleman at the reception gave us excellent service. Our stay was great, just booked another stay for March 2025.
Great historic gem.
Love the history and location of this place. Tavern and coffee cafe have great food and drink. Sound from band playing was a little loud at night but all quiet by 10:30/11 so didn’t mind. Being so close to the Alamo and Riverwalk is such a plus!
Solid hotel for the price. Great location.
Solid hotel for the price, excellent location directly adjacent to The Alamo and close to Riverwalk entrance. Room was clean, a little dated. Staff was friendly, standard room pretty small. Two full sized beds. Liked that the toilet and shower were separate from the sink and vanity.
Really loved it-
It was very nice and clean, easy valet. Absolutely no issues checking In. There’s a bar with food at night and morning coffee. Room is very nice and clean. It’s been updated. It’s is so close to the river walk mall, we paid once for valet $45 and that may see expensive but pretty much everyone charges for parking these days. Stay here if you want to visit the river walk, be so close to river center mall and AMC theaters and have a good time. Nice staff and atmosphere. I will be back. I can’t wait till the other phases finish. It’s going to be a really nice area around the alamo.
From the minute we were greeted at the curb, we were handled with professional friendly service. The stay was great!
Great location!
Very helpful and accommodating staff , who went out of their way to make you feel welcome
Great place to stay
Walking distance to the mall and river. Staff every friendly.
We had the live band under our room that night until 1 am with people outside The Tavern talking and then awoke to the Alamo construction that started at around 5:00 am. Valet Parking was charged near $50 on my credit card with no explanation. There is lots of construction going on at the Alamo and doesn't look like it will be completed soon.
Very much enjoyed my stay.
The front desk help was very kind and the property is beautiful. The rooms are very clean and spacious and the beds are very comfortable!!
Always a pleasure staying at the Crockett. The staff is amazing, the location is perfect, and the rooms are cozy!
The Hotel and staff were great unfortunately the area around the hotel is under construction and is terrible to try and get anywhere
Great location, friendly people. Good food in the tavern. Some live music at night in the bar. Close to the downtown and Riverwalk Alamo.
Thank you for a great stay.
Great old style hotel. I sayed there before and now even better renovated Great location.very friendly staff. Clean. Beautiful Nice pub I little item missing is a safe on room. And second: the gardeners started leave blowing with very loud noisy and stinky gas powered leafblowers. These are banned - for a good reason- on my home town Miami beach
Heat/air in room was difficult to set.
Easy, easy parking

Great location close to the Riverwalk but didn’t cost an arm and a leg. We’ll be back for sure!
The rich history of the hotel and area around it.
Loved this historic hotel. Small but lovely room. The restaurant & bar was a plus. I would stay here again but not bring my car. The valet is pretty much the only option & it was $45 a night. The location was so convenient to Riverwalk & the Alamo.
Excellent location
I encountered the worst customer service, and I'm shocked by how rude some people can be. While I could express my frustration more strongly, I'll refrain. However, I want to point out that the rooms smell bad, and the receptionists provide disastrous customer service.
Beautiful historic hotel in the heart of the River walk area. We walked everywhere we wanted to go. Room was comfortable and quiet. The tavern had fabulous food and entertainment.
The hotel itself is very nice. The location was ideal for the Alamo and River Walk. Staff were not overally friendly. Were told since we were checking in and staying at the hotel we got "complimentary" valet parking. Did not bother to tell us it was $48 a night.
Will definitely stay there again. Really nice and clean hotel.
Na
Treasure of a place.
Everything was great, except the construction going on right in front of the hotel.
The staff is super friendly and the hotel is awesome and in a great location!
coffee maker did not work; sink drained slowly; bath tub leaked; carpet was dingy; no manager available.. Had to walk across the street to sister hotel for breakfast.
Lovely hotel in the heart of the Alamo and Riverwalk area.
Other than the construction going on, this hotel was perfect.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay. We were in San Antonio to celebrate his birthday. From the front desk to the valet staff everyone did an amazing job. Eduardo checked us in and Cody checked us out. Both were a pleasure to meet. I will definitely be back. The ongoing construction at the Alamo could pose a problem but not for us. Mrs Brown
It was all around amazing. I highly recommend it.
The staff members are extremely nice. We dined at the Crockett Tavern and we loved the atmosphere.
Great historic hotel and pub in a fabulous location. Unfortunately I could not see outside from my room b/c windows are very dirty. There is NO Continental BREAKFAST. That was false advertising.
clean safe and affordable
Staying at the Crockett was an excellent experience, well definitely be staying again. I went to the Iron Maiden concert and really made a good choice in staying there
Most Excellent Staff
Eduardo at the front desk on Sunday at 12:45 pm is by far one of the friendliest men ever. The female employee at the Valet stand was amazing as well! The bartender that evening is also excellent, red hair and red eyebrows. Definitely coming back.
The pool was a major disappointment; unheated kiddie pool. It was immediately adjacent to the Alamo and about a block to the river walk. I highly recommend this hotel as an option unless you're a swimmer. The Tavern has good meal choices; after walking all day it's nice to relax and enjoy the live entertainment (Country) without having to go anywhere else...
There was construction going on. I recognize, it is not the hotel's fault. Great hotel!
