I payed extra to stay at Marriot to have access to swimming pool and I could not use pool, it was old and dirty. Imagine hotel was full and not 1 person by pool. Very disappointing, the aesthetics and pictures does not do hotel any Justice. Hotel is old and definitely not worth money spent. Staff is wonderful, very kind and courteous. Marriot needs to invest in aesthetics, get some new umbrellas, new awnings, power wash pool area, clean pool, new lawn chairs and some new green plants and make pool area welcoming.

The staff here is OUTSTANDING. They are all really sweet people and they took really good care of us (and we had several reasonable requests). They went above and beyond at every turn. It really made a big difference to us for our family.

I stayed here for almost a week and honestly it was a comfortable stay, but due to the amount of traveling I do.. this hotel was not worth the prices. But, I understand it’s PR, so I will have to rate by a different standard. It did not offer the different accommodations that other hotels do. The reason I give it a high rating is because of the staff there. Everyone was soooooo nice!! But I have to give EXTRA THANKS to Antonio & Francisco for providing me a delicious cup of cafe the first morning of my stay. It was one of those mornings where I just wanted to relax and get coffee, but didn’t want the room coffee because of no milk or creamer. I go to the lobby and they don’t have ready made coffee. I went to both to inquire about it, and after complaining and joking… Antonio approached me later outside the hotel and said they will be getting me a cup of cafe and started a conversation until Francisco sweetly came out to give me the cup. They literally went above and beyond, I appreciated it so much especially since it was delicious. They didn’t have to do that, thank you for the kindness.

The property was nice however for the price it’s now worth it. I didn’t feel it was close to anything attractive. No complimentary breakfast. No parking and the weird $17 up charge gives you snack credit however please be very careful as you will not be able to use it on the last days.

We had to stay here because of our flight delay. The staff was wonderful and the room was so clean. My wife and I would consider to come back here to this hotel.

The rating is the result of 2 issues. The first and most unacceptable was the toilet. The way it was installed, you could not use the toilet no matter if you were male or female. The toilet was installed under an extension of the countertop and as a result neither the seat or seat cover would stay in the vertical position. Standing up you had to hold the seat up with one hand….well you get the picture. If you were seated, the seat cover is firmly planted in your back. Neither one could be raised to a vertical position. When I raised the issue at checkout it reminded me of the time I complained to my car mechanic….”they all do that”. And that was the excuse…all of the rooms had the same issue….. The second problem was shower soap. Like many hotels, this one changed to the dispensers for soap, shampoo, etc. That’s great as long as they actually put soap in there. Overall the property was clean but lacked the amenities such as USB outlets and even had a limited amount of standard outlets for plugging phones, watches and iPads.

It was a great experience. The only thing was for breakfast. I had to let them know that I had the package for that and parking. And you had to pick up the tickets the next morning before breakfast and then my children had to go pick up the tickets Separately instead of allowing us to get them all at once. The Continental breakfast was very good. The fruit bowl was amazing. All of the staff were very courteous and helpful.

Leves EVERYTHING about this hotel. Is in a great location, clean, rooms are nice, pool area is cozy and the decoration is a little old but nice. But by far what makes this place is their staff. They are AMAZING and go out of their way to help.

The staff I encountered day or night were excellent. They really made the experience very pleasant. It is a great location for many walkable restaurants and the beach is a 20 minute walk or just rent a bike. The parking for your car is great with in/out privileges.

This property was very centrally located. My family and I were able to walk to the beach, and multiple breakfast areas. Very clean, and very safe.

The restaurant Comedor was convenient and a cozy atmosphere, the area is pretty quiet and not as touristy, which I liked. Great cafe around the corner called Lucia.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting San Juan.

Valet only parking for $20 fee which should be free.The towels were changed but not the sheets during our 3 night stay. The beds were not fixed daly either.Garbage bags were missing in the bins. The staff subsequengly placed bags over garbage in the bins. The beds are not comfortable. Having the $17 daily credit for snacks and water was a plus but this is already included as a fee in the daily cost.

Stay was so so

Comfortable beds, and quiet room, but for what we paid seemed a bit outrageous for the price. Plus, there was a mandatory “credit” of $17 that they charge you for snacks and drinks and if you do not use it, they still charge. Also the area of the hotel is run down and I tripped many times On the sidewalks on the streets near the hotel that are not well maintained.

$17 worth of available snacks free each day. Restaurant, at least for brunch was so so. There's what looked to be a decent little place for breakfast about about 2-3 blocks heading to Old San Juan, same side of the street.E-scooters all over which are great for a quick trip.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It was very clean & comfortable. It’s also near a lot of great restaurants & stores within walking distance. It’s a short Uber ride to a few other places of interest like Old San Juan. The restaurant downstairs had great drinks & great food. I would 10/10 stay here again. When checking in there were no issues. Moises was very informative and helpful and ven assured that my request for a microwave was fulfilled in a timely manner. The room was beautiful and clean. The housekeeper, Nitza, was very thorough when cleaning and assuring that we received anything we were needing. She even brought more shampoo expeditiously. Some concerns were the vallet parking. You are forced to use this service if you have a car rental needing to be parked. The amount of time you have to wait for your car is a while. I even attempted to call in advance, but the button for vallet parking in the in the rooms line seems not to work. Also, there was a vallet workers was very unprofessional and created a bad experience for me as they were being homophobic towards me and my spouse. They have made comments on numerous occasions. There was even an issue where they didn’t put our room number down for the vallet parking and I had to bring this to the attention of the front desk for them to correct this. Another experience that was kind of offputting was ordering from the comedor restaurant downstairs. I ordered 2 comedor burgers well done and when I received it, it was burned. When brought to their attention they offered to remake them but even then they were burnt again. The following day when we went for drinks the staff just gave us looks due to the previous day issue with the burgers. Besides these things the experience was ok.

Only two things: our light between beds was out and didn’t come up to fix it. Be sure and get a room far from the elevator ours was right across and it sounds like a freight train when in operation😃

Old hotel conveniently located. Hotel needs a facelift but the staff who checked us in was very helpful, friendly and gave us good restaurant recommendations. There is a supermarket almost right opposite to the hotel. Also quite a selection of restaurants within walking distance. Only one lift and the door closes very fast. Would not stop closing even if one tries to manually force it to.

Arrived from the airport at 2PM. Room not ready but was not guaranteed until 4PM so that was ok. Was told they would call when the room ready. No call! Went back at 4 and room ready. We got drinks and an appetizer in the Comodore room while waiting. That was nice. Dinner in the Ariel Restaurant did not start until 7:30 so we went to a nice steakhouse down the street.
