I booked my stay through Expedia and accidently booked the wrong date of 1/11/25 instead of 1/4/25. Realizing my mistake in less than a minute, I changed the date and cancelled the one for 1/11/25. Was charged for both dates. Contacted Expedia and you to ask for a refund and have not gotten any response from either.

I like the area in the middle that’s private where you can sit outside and enjoy a game

Convenient location. Room nice but the shower has half a door which lets water out and is drafty.

The hotel was very clean. The breakfast was subpar. Looked like an airplane meal just popped out of a microwave. Parking was very expensive. Lack of an employee at the desk to direct out of town guests to sights in the area or restaurants. Rooms not cleaned daily. Area around the hotel was questionable.

Nice hotel

The gym was well maintained. The staff were courteous and awesome. The location is ideal if you wish to walk around downtown Richmond, unless you are adverse to walking uphill. My only issue with the hotel is the Wifi. I tried to connect in my room and could not connect at all.

This hotel is old needs an upgrade. The view from the window was horrible. The view was the garbage center from the building

Nice place! but no free parking. No room service if you stay two day. They just hanging the extra towels no cleaning in the room.

The staff in-person and over the phone was so personable and eager to answer questions and offer advice/help when requested (e.g. dining options, parking, check-in/check-out). The room was clean and elegant with a spacious bathroom, a very responsive thermostat, a mini fridge, a microwave, lots of access to outlets, and a good size television with a full set of channels as well as the option to use your own streaming services or attach your own devices.

Receptionist/hostess Catherine was exceptionally wonderful.

Updates Needed

Pleasant hotel in the downtown area however, updates needed throughout the room and bathroom. Lack of mini fridge space was also a disappointment. Unable to fit leftovers in the mini fridge due to the bottle/can design taking up all the room.

The hotel is in a prime location but along with it comes problem of space, parking, price etc. Room rate of more than $200 per day is in my opinion very high. It appears there is a cartel among the hotels in this area which keeps the price so high which is unreasonable and not worth it. I booked the hotel for my guest who stayed for two nights with his family and waiting to hear from them as to how the facilities of the hotel worked out for them. Thanks

A very enjoyable stay!

The room smelled a bit sweaty and musky. Service was wonderful. Front desk staff were very cordial and professional. Easy check in and valet was fast.

Front desk lady at check in was fantastic. Lady at checkout was also pleasant. Room was clean and comfortable. We got 1 round of drinks at the bar and outside of being incredibly over priced the bartender wasn't great either.

The sidewalk had bricks all around it. Sidewalk was not finished very unsafe

The establishment needs more weekend help for Valet parking. I had to wait an extended amount of time for both checking in and checking out.

I absolutely loved my stay here.It was in an area with a lot to do in walking distance.Great restaurants and bars.It has an outside patio area which was very enjoyable.We came for the NASCAR race and this hotel was so easy to get to the track.It literally took us about 10-15 minutes.I will definitely be coming back next year.I would give this hotel FIVE PLUS STARS

While not the best Courtyard Marriott I’ve stayed at from the perspective of amenities or room quality, although they’re certainly acceptable, the hotel staff was incredible. Great location in the downtown. A little more street life around here in the evenings than some of the other areas of downtown Richmond.

Great downtown location near Capitol bike trail. Hotel was courteous and stored our bikes for us free of charge after hours 55 mi ride. Great neighborhood for restaurants and bars.

The stay was cool. Nice comfy rooms. The location was great. Everything is pretty much walking distance. Poor valet guy was struggling. He was doing his best though, ya’ll have to get him some help. It should always be two people at valet.

You might think about springing for a few plastic cups for rooms - not sure how you expected me to take my meds. Know you’re trying to make money but bathroom needs a glass -

Did not enjoy experience

It is conveniently located.

I stayed here as part of a ten day road trip. I stayed at two Hilton properties and had negative experiences. This property was fresh, accommodating, and comfortable. Based on this trip, I will be looking for more Marriott properties in the future.

It’s the first Courtyard that actually had a courtyard. Breakfast not included was a bummer. Even basics such as coffee had a price. Not much in the area to walk to. Some restaurants but no cute shops. Cobble stone streets and uneven sidewalks made it definitely feel like old town. It was very quiet and room was nice.

Nice and new hotel!

A clean and modern property with a nice lobby, a great location on a charming street, and an all around great place to rest after days out and about. The room was a little small for 4 as the sofa bed was really only big enough to sleep one which meant that you would have to fit 4 on the king bed. Not ideal unless you have small kids who like snuggling with each other.

Property is in an area with a lively night life so expect noise both inside and outside the hotel until after 11:00. Decent bed, but could use bigger pillows. Excellent temperature controls in the room. Only 2 cups made it difficult for a couple to make coffee and have cups for the bathroom.

The staff was nice and the room was fine. My room wasn't efficiently cleaned. There were either soda or coffee spill stains on the wall. The showers body wash wasn't refilled and was empty after about 2 pumps. The small lotion on the counter was used and also nearly empty. The coffee machine in the room was also dirty. This shouldn't have been almost $200 per night.

This place was great!!! We loved staying here. It's a perfect location for exploring and enjoying downtown Richmond.

We had reserved three rooms. We were in the area early so called to see if we could check in early. We were told one of the rooms was available but we would be charged for every hour before 4pm if we checked in early. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and have never been charged for an early check in. I totally understand if the room isn’t available but if it is most hotels are happy to let you check in early. There are a lot of options to stay in Downtown Richmond so we will not be staying at this hotel again.

Our stay was quick but lovely. Everyone was kind, the location is wonderful, and the room was clean and comfortable. The water pressure was the only negative but it was warm, so still worth it.

Curtis was very helpful with valet parking and check-in was quick and easy. Would definitely stay here again.

Uber help

The front desk staff were amazing. There was a lot going on during our stay. Shamrock block Galaxy con, a formal wedding, Girls soccer tournament, Wanda Sykes show. Even helped some seniors figure out their first Uber!

We really enjoyed our stay! The valet parking was simple, all of the staff were really friendly and helpful, and the space was nice and clean. It was a nice, easy walk to the convention center. I would happily stay again!

For the insane price they charge they should offer breakfast!!! They do not offer anything other than a pay menu that is microwaved eggs!

Not a bad hotel

Hotel was very nice and very clean. Room was spacious and clean. Front desk was professional and got me into my room before check in time. Hotel is in walking distance to a nice selection of restaurants. Parking is the only issue. Valet is offered but had to park in a garage across the street and pay but at least it was close.

Arrived late around 9:20pm and had to circle the square block 3 times before the 2 space valet area had anywhere I could park bc street was already full, so was nearest parking lot. Person at desk just checked me in & handed me keys. Walked away. No kindness or courtesy, no info how to give my stuff to valet. Saw someone finally at the stand & handed keys over. Took an hour to get text with info. Room was nice, however the fridge didn’t work. Called down & no one answered. Went down & they said push the button inside again. Yeah…that’s to boost it for 2 hours. Didn’t ever do a thing bc although plugged in-it never would run or work. Stunk bc there for a comp & had some food & drink for us for breakfast that all went bad. People were SO loud at 5am I finally just got up. Decided not to even stay second night, which of course I still paid for. Fine, I get it. No valet stand. No person. Took forever to get response how to get my car. I anticipate time normally for them if busy, but this was like 30 min. Won’t return there. Room fine, but location, staff & noise level & issues are a no for me with so many hotels down there I have had good experiences with

E-Gift Cards

My daughter's and I take a trip to Short Pump in Richmond, Virginia for shopping after Christmas every year. This year I happen to have a $500 e-gift card that I had one from work earlier in the year, I decided to use that and pick this hotel. When we arrived to the hotel on Christmas evening the young lady at the front desk didn't know how to enter my e-gift card so she informed me that she would just take my debit card charge me for the incidentals which was $40 for two nights and that someone tomorrow would be able to walk me through getting that added on to my room. I MADE IT CLEAR THAT I DIDNT WANT THE CARD I PUT ON FILE TO BE RAN AS THE PAYMENT UPON CHECKOUT. The next day I speak with a different person at the desk and he has to call for help in entering the e-gift card to my room. He assured me later that evening that the gift card was entered and I would not be charged on my debit card. The next morning I checked my bank account online at they pulled the money from my debit card. I understand that they don't get a lot of these to process but it's still an option nonetheless. I will be calling for I still have not received the credit back to my bank account!
