Love Trinity and Coral Sands has been a favourite for a while. Prime location and great pool

Extremely clean, I'm OCD clean and ran my own cleaning business so my expectations are high and I wasn't disappointed. Great apartment, we stayed in Apt 42, it had absolutely everything you need for your stay, ample cutlery/Crockery/pots. Coffee pod machine, large fridge, dishwasher, dryer, washing machine. Large dining table and 2 large couches. Aptment was huge with all 3 bedrooms having more than ample space and clothing storage. 2 Balconies and 2 bathrooms. Split air conditioning in each bedroom and living areas as well as ceiling fans in each room. Large TV in living area and one in main bedroom, also had unlimited fast WiFi. The apartment block was quiet and a beautiful location opposite the beach with beach views. Loads of eatting options just a stones throw from the resort including a small grocery store and another larger one a 1km walk up the road. Location is perfect on 20 minutes to Cairns. Parking is available in the secured basement carpark. The pool is huge and great for relaxing by while the kids splash around. BBQ facilities outside and a great grassed area for kids to play. The property from the beach side is secured with a fence and gate accessible to only guest. Would highly recommend the resort and we won't hesitate to book here again if we return to Cairns. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.

Beautiful place and small beach town of Trinity Beach. Bus stop across the street, easy to take to Cairns. Quiet and relaxing. Really nice pool. Well equipped kitchen and laundry in your room!

Coral Sands Resort is perfect for a family getaway, it's right on the Esplanade giving access to the beach and local restaurants. Some small updates to the rooms would benefit those wanting to stay, such as updated shower head, the dryer is too close to the washing machine making loading difficult, and the dishwasher was too big for the space blocking a cupboard door. Outside of these small things the apartment was a great layout and was perfect to take my teenage girls. Giving them their own bathroom and toilet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. And we loved the pool.

Lovely property had no issues at all

Disappointing and Dirty.

On checking in the receptionist immediately told us that the fly screen on the main balcony door was ripped, but that it would be replaced the following day - we stayed for five days and no one came to fix it. Within half hour of getting into our apartment the air con unit on the wall was streaming water down the wall and onto the floor. The temperate was set at the temperature we were told to maintain it at. We went to report this to the lady at reception only to be told that it couldn’t be looked at that day and she handed us two towels to soak up the excess water on the floor. So we were expected to walk around towels on a slippery tiled floor. The bathrooms were extremely run down and dirty. Toilet was dirty, mould all over the shower screens, ripped lampshade, old broken window blinds, dirty rings on surfaces. The only good thing about this apartment was the view of the ocean. The pool and grounds are also nice. Definitely not a resort experience or worth its 4 star rating.

A lovely stay, really enjoyed the pool and close proximity to terrific food options. Checkin/checkout easy, staff lovely.

Great location across from the beach and next to great restaurants. Very comfortable and quiet..secure parking. Balcony overlooking the ocean.

We were not contacted ahead of time that the reception office closed at noon. We had to use the phone on the outside desk to locate someone to help us get our key to the room.

Our particular room was a bit out dated and satisfactory in cleanliness. Great deal online, we had a car so was easy enough to get where we needed to go. Pool was great for the kids learning to swim, as is shallow for a lot of it.

Great position to shops beach and restaurants

Just had the best time. Definatley would stay again.

Our stay in a superior 2 bedroom apartment was great. The apartment was clean and comfortable and large enough with 2 young kids. The kitchen had all we needed for self catering, and plastic bowls and cups were provided for the kids to use. The pool and view was wonderful. The only downfall was the beds were a bit hard and pillows not very comfortable.

Both the unit and property location were ok however we expected to have some kind of ocean view from our room given its beachfront location. We were told we didn’t request this in our booking and therefore nothing they could do. The wifi was terrible, kids had to hotspot when we were home and couple of days with no wifi due to maintenance. The beach water was murky, so with the local crocodile warnings we didn’t end up swimming at trinity beach. Then the day before our scheduled checkout at 10am, reception phoned to see what time we’d be leaving. Overall not the best experience 😕

great location, good room, few issues ( broken AC ) but were dealt with quickly by staff Slightly aging property but comfy beds and had everything we needed for a week No close supermarket but bus stop close and coles and woolies deliver for bigger shops

5 star resort

Our stay at the Coral Sands Resort was amazing. Our superior room was comfortable and roomy for 4 guests and a baby. The pool was clean and the gardens well maintained and had access to the beach through a back gate. The view was beautiful of the pool and beach. The staff were very friendly and checked in before and on leaving the resort. Would recommend.

Nice and close to everything. Staff were friendly and resort amenities were pretty good. Within walking distance to restaurants and cafes.

Didn't like the high step required to get in & out for older people. Shower screen is very narrow resulting in splash. Required to wait over an hour past check in to access apartment. Excellent pool. Plenty of space in apartment.

Highly recommend a stay at Coral Sands. Suited our family perfectly. Close proximity to beach and restaurants. Pool and gardens were immaculate. Loved having the full kitchen and washing machine. Quiet and safe location, but still plenty happening in town.

Location was good. Unit was listed as “ocean view”. I think this is misleading and partial ocean view or obstructed OV would be more accurate at best. The unit had an “old” odour and was in need of updating despite a recent paint job and new sofa. The quality of furniture was not that of a 4 star property as listed. Expedia also listed as a hotel- this is not a hotel but a self contained property. Smoking on the balconies was also not appealing. Local restaurants provided good Food. Pool area and grounds were well Maintained. Make sure you have pool towels unless you want to rent them!

We loved our stay at coral sands- it was the perfect place to finish our holiday/ an ideal location- beach and pool on the doorstep- a few restaurants and cafes in close walking distance. The place was clean and ideal for our young family. Will definitely be back.

Loved the location. Family friendly and nice atmosphere. I didn't like the beds at all,every movement can be felt through the springs and made for some bad nights sleep. Be sure to bring your own pool towels as they are not provided.

Terribly maintained

Broken dining chairs, unpainted walls, broken bathroom fixtures, saggy beds this hotel stay had it all. Unfortunately as each unit has individual owners it appears the resort has no standards and as a result our appartments looked like the last time it recieved any maintanence was some time ago.

Coral Sands is a nice resort in a great location, across the street from Trinity Beach. The resort has several apartments over 3 levels, with underground parking, but no elevator. We are seniors and getting our luggage up and down the stairs was a feat in itself. The property has beautiful gardens and a large pool - great for families. Communication with the resort could be improved. The resort emails that are sent to guests are mostly non-replyable,so this does not allow for two-way communication. That aside, the resort is well kept and only a few steps from the beach.

Fairly average stay

Pro: Easy access to beach. Few good restaurants nearby. Spacious. Big Pool Con: Stairs access only. Maintenance issue (See picture). Poor sound proofing. Limited Reception time and late to turn up. Mattress extremely uncomfortable. Moulds in shower. Air-conditioning restricted.

Loved our stay at this resort. The beach is just across the road. Kitchen is a good option for family with kids.

Perfect location

Great location, walk out u are on the beach. Lots of food options around. The rooms are getting dated, but have everything you need. We have 2 bedrooms and both had a bathroom. There are no lifts so if you cant do stairs make sure u get bottom floor. Secure underground parking. Great pool and bbqs . We would stay here again for sure. Right oppostie a bus shelter

A lovely stay overlooking the beach. Units are starting to age a bit but staff are lovely and had no issues.

Fumes.

There were many positives: a large pool, free BBQ's, & a large 2BR unit which was well-supplied & fitted out. BUT They allow smoking on the balconies, which was an issue. Our unit was in the L-shaped bend, and was one of the few where a neighboring unit balcony not only gave view of our balcony but into the front of our unit. Wouldn't be an issue except the next-door resident (? permanent) was a chain-smoker (2-4 times per hour!), & the predominant SE winds & the laws of physics resulted in the smoke eddying & in fact concentrating into the SW corner & us being prisoners - unable to sit or air our towels/bathers/clothes on the balcony, nor open our doors. Even with the patio doors shut our room smelled of smoke, & the stairwell (having permanently semi-open wooden slats) smelled fiercely from the concentrated fumes. Smoking status is not a usual requirement to be disclosed on booking, but I would have to suggest that anyone wanting to stay here specifically ask to have a room away from the bend or NOT next to a room with a known smoker.

Property is in a great location and is set up well. Only complaints was tv in bedroom not working and the beds were as hard as a rock

With 3 kids it suites us perfectly

Quiet area, though resort rooms were a bit dated. Although it didnt matter to me, there was no daily housekeeping to make up the room. I checked in on a Sunday at midday and the reception was closed, which wasnt a great start. A quick phone call gave me access to my key (in a lockbox) When i went to offically check-in on Monday morning, the receptionist was 30 mins late to work which made me late for some.plans i had up in thr rainforest. Better communication would have helped here. All that said, it was a pretty good place to stay, and id probably return now that i know what to expect.

The toilet in the top floor apartment was noisy and made a pumping sound at all times throughout our stay.

Dirty and smelly!

The room was dirty and smelt terrible when we arrived even though the patio doors had been left open. The dish washer was blocked and the floors had not been mopped. The cupboards and draws smelt terrible, I washed everything before I used it. We never ate anything prepared at the property. The air conditioning was non existent we had the fan on all the time to help with humidity. The beds were acceptable with clean bedding but not enough pillows and the mattress was an industrial and hard. The apartment could have been a lot cleaner and a bit of attention to house keeping to make sure residue dirt and smells are eradicated would go a long way to making this an acceptable accommodation. I would not recommend.

Our family of 6 stayed at the Coral Sands Resort for a family holiday/special event. Beautiful clean accommodation situated just out of Cairns on the way to Port Douglas. Lovely walkways to the pool area. Staff helpful and lovely to deal with. The location is amazing! Beautiful views of the beach and a 60sec walk to beautiful restaurants and COFFEE! We will definitely be coming back.

Beautiful Stat

Our stay was wonderful and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Communication was excellent. Location was perfect on the waterfront and next door to Italian restaurant L’Unico which was convenient for us to pick up dinner. The view from our balcony overlooking the pool, gardens and the waterfront was beautiful and picturesque to enjoy the morning coffee and a glass of wine in the afternoon. Our 2brm unit was spacious and had all the amenities. We loved the idea of self service apartment which had all the bits and pieces to get guests started. Would definitely recommend. We loved our stay and will definitely return in the future.

The grounds, pool, and location are 5 stars. The unit, we were in was 2 stars. The units are individually owned and the quality is dependent upon the owner. My sister and i booked the same "superior" 2 bedroom apartment. The layout is the same. The quality was polar opposite. Our unit, 40, has not been updated since at last 1990 and not painted in the last 5 years. Mold and rust in both bathrooms. A broken curtain in the living room providing no way to block out a clear view from the courtyard into our entire unit. We could not use the living space after dark. The king size bed was two twin cots pushed together and held in place by a thin fitted sheet. The front desk did ask if we would like to switch units. We declined as we only had 2 more nights and did not want to repack. Unit 38 was recently fully renovated and was lovely. Good luck rolling the dice on which unit you receive as they charge the same for less then motel quality as they do for hotel quality.

We booked a 2 bedroom standard apartment for 9 nights with a family of 4. We were extremely impressed by the tidiness and size of the pool, grounds and location. The standard 2 bedroom apartment serviced our needs and requirements during our stay and it was much larger than we expected which was pleasing. We loved that the apartment had cooking facilities, a large fridge, dishwasher, a washing machine and dryer, plus 2 bathrooms with 3 girls is a big bonus. The balcony had a great view of the pool and beach. The pool looks awesome at night with the blue light lit up and even encouraged me for a swim before it closed. The standard appartments are quite dated in the bathrooms mainly and could use some attention such a fresh coat of paint where paint is cracking and broken fixtures replaced or removed, however saying this we did expect this reading previous reviews and it wasn’t a big deal for us or we would have booked a superior apartment which are renovated. When we first arrived the kids had fun looking at the tourist board provided by Coral Sands Beach Resort and taking pamphlets of trips they wished to go on and sites to see and I was happy that the facility included car parking for our rental car with easy access from the car park to our apartment. On our last night we had dinner at the onsite Italian restaurant which was delicious. Trinity Beach is a wonderful and pretty location and we were just so happy that we chose Coral Sands Beach Resort for our accommodation.

Location was great. Apartment was 4th floor walk up which was hard to manage. We checked in after dark. No receptionist snd very dimly lit path. Apt had almost no kitchen amenities so cooking was out pf the question. Shower was like luxurious but hot water was limited. The thord person in our party took a cold shower.

The unit had everything we needed and was close to restaurants and the beach. Great stay.

The location was just what we were looking for so close to the beach and to the restaurants, the pool was so inviting and so relaxing lazing on the sun lounges the room had everything we need especially for 2 adults and a 14yr old boy we all had our own space i would highly recommended this property to all my friends to stay at and look forward to coming back next year

Resort look

If you're thinking of a budget stay that's a fantastic option which is clean with acceptable level of amenities, but you will not find the place lux at all... Location is great to Trinity beach, but for the next time we will consider Palm Cove beach!

Everything we loved, location, functionality and especially cleanliness

Clean apartment and swimming pool is awesome. service is great, and surrounded by trees and near the beach. Maintenance needs to improve like keeping spare bin bags for kitchen, there was no iron thus I had request. These minor things make a difference when we need them in a hurry.

Lovely location, choice of walkable restaurants/cafes. Spacious accommodation with good facilities.

Spacious light filled Appartment. Comfortable bed. Nice furniture. A home away from home.

Great location and rooms

Great location and rooms are a good size. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and was pleasantly suprised to have a 2nd bathroom. In effect 2 on-suite rooms 2nd bedroom had a tv so great for our 15 year old after getting back from dinner. Had all we needed ann a full size kitchen. 6 nights and we loved the location.

The place was nice and in a very good location to all other facilities. Only issues were the pool was very hot and no cover provided even though the cyclone had passed by over a week ond some of the furniture was old the bed was well passed it's use by date. Over all it was not a bad place to stay.

We stayed for 6 nights but the apartment was only equipped with basic things likes toilet paper, bin linen for 3 days only , we asked at the reception we were told that we have to buy our own , the apartment just gets you started then you have to service your self, I we told it’s not a resort , it’s a self service apartment but why the name is coral sands resort , something is not right. Also they charge for pool towels which are not refundable. Reception is always unattended

Really nice premises, good location and great pool for the kids.

Great value for the location we really enjoyed being right on the beach and having such nice gardens and pool. Would definitely like to stay here again, relaxing spot for beach walks and to wander down to local cafes in the morning for a coffee. Staff were very helpful, felt secure location, easy parking underground a few steps from our room

Quiet, plenty of room, self sufficient

Horrible place to stay

Do not stay here. The place did not provide enough towels or soap. There was a water leak in the ceiling and there were random tiny ants crawling around the place in the kitchen and the bathroom. Hotels.com website claims they have a hottub which they do not. The webaite also fails to mention that this is a self-contained apartment. Everything in the area closes at 8:30 pm.

The location and area around Coral Sands was excellent. The pool did have a few bandaids in it that my children commented on. The apartment was a great space, however the pillows were very flat and the trundle bed for my 7 year old was terrible. The mattress was very thin and felt like you were sleeping on metal. There were 5 of us staying there and only 4 chairs at both the indoor and outdoor tables as well as only 4 forks in the drawer.

Love Trinity Beach, apartment was great except for bedding. Extremely uncomfortable mattresses and pillows and we selected 2 queen beds but we’re given a small double and 2 singles.

Fantastic Location

We stayed at Coral Sands for a week as a family. The location is fantastic. So close to all the restaurants, beach across the road and easy access to public transport if needed. Staff were friendly and attentive, the grounds were beautifully maintained and the views were great. The apartment was a great size and functional for our needs, however the he room was tired and in desperate need of a paint and some basic maintenance. Not as clean as we might have hoped for, or maybe the cleaner was having a bad day.

Lovely place

The property grounds, pool and bbq areas are very nice. The resort is in a great location for accessing the beach and all the local dining options. It has an underground car park which was easy to access but dragging bags up several flights of stairs needs strength and makes noise that everyone will hear. We were disappointed that our apartment needed some obvious maintenance and did not reflect the photos viewed before making our booking. The apartment did not have smart tv's so bring your own Chromecast if you want to watch any personal streaming subscription services. Lots of mobile data is also needed as the resort wi-fi is useless.

Everything about this property is fine, it's in a great location and the rooms are nice and large. The one BIG Negative is there is no internet. The local resort WiFi just isn't good enough to connect to, so we were suggested at check-in to use our Telstra data from our phones, which would have been totally fine but the Telstra coverage again wasn't strong enough in our room or balcony to connect. Normally not having internet would have been okay if on a holiday, but I was up there for a different reason and really needed access to internet, so that was a bit frustrating. I have stayed multiples times in other resorts in Trinity Beach and never had an issue with WiFi.

Great location on beachfront, property has very good street appeal, next door to best restaurant in Trinity Beach, close to convenience store and bar, large pool, friendly and helpful reception staff, bed was comfortable - all good but rooms are very outdated & no lifts - my 70 year old body was stuffed after walking up 3 flights of stairs with our bags! Ideal for families.

In a great position in Trinity Beach. We had 2 x 3 bedroom apartments for 7 nights. Both were a bit dated and could do with a fresh coat of paint. Bbq and pool were good and used by our group a bit. Standards of cleaners need to improve for apartments and towels, as they were not very white.

Standard Room Review

Booked a Standard 1 bedroom Apartment. 100% practical, but certainly rough around the edges. Crack in the Lounge Room ceiling and missing ceiling light needs attention ASAP. Lounge Suite itself is way out of date and uncomfortable. However overall the apartment itself is workable and practical, and very clean. 3rd floor with no lift means difficult to lift up luggage if you were to be physically challenged. Grounds and pool space beautifully kept, excellent. If youre unlikely you’ll get a large group with multiple screaming kids in the pool like I did for a couple of days. People do need to consider others! Right on Vasey Espl next to the wonderful L’Unico. Overall Coral Sands is an excellent choice, but perhaps aim higher than the Standard Room.

Great beach location

Wonderful location right on the beach. Apartment itself was clean and tidy, but showing its age. Door locks that did not really work (used a bit of timber to "lock" external sliding doors!). Kitchen had been updated, but new dishwasher and microwave did not fit in the spot properly, so could not open cupboards to get to bin because the DW was in the way. These are only small things, but a bit of attention to the apartment would help it get to an excellent standard. The only other major issue was the WIFI. It really did not exist! The few times we could actually log in, it was so slow that you could not even do basic web browsing or check your emails. We mentioned this to management and they are aware of it and sounded like an upgrade was being planned, so hopefully all good in the near future. Appears to be in a bit of a 4G blackspot, so good WIFI is important as you cannot rely on 4G either. Nevertheless, a great spot and we would recommend and we will return.

The only thing I’d say is that the unit was a little dated and could do with a bit of a make over

A piece of paradise

Amazing apartments. Gorgeous grounds. Excellent location. Lots of families seem to stay here so there's a bit of noise but usually happy noise. Stair access only. Always find this a struggle with luggage.

The reception staff were welcoming and always helpful. The rooms were very clean. The location is perfect.

We stayed here for 4 nights last week. Really nice property close to restaurants and the tavern. Smithfield shopping centre a short drive from there. Close to the ocean and the rooms were large and comfortable. The only downer is having to walk up 3 flights of stairs to get to the room. May be a bit difficult for the elderly.

Room Pictures don’t reflect what we experienced

The room did not reflect the pictures seen online. The bathroom exhaust leaked when the guests above us used their water. Mould in the bathroom shower doors. Bathrooms were not renovated they looked like they were from the 70s/80s More than just ants crawling in our kitchen, we never cooked and we had to keep all our snacks in the fridge. Couches and curtains were stained and dirty. Towels were also poor quality and thin. One looked that it had white paint on it. Great location but I believe the pictures advertised should reflect what you will be paying for.

Property is really old and its not even 2* motel quality. The bathrooms are 20 year old. and rusty and overall so poor .It is real fraud to rat this accusation as 4.5 * . No wifi in the flat as well. it was total shocker and i wouldn't even recommend this to my enemy

Wonderful location, beautiful grounds and pool. Large two bedroom and nice layout for families with a full kitchen and laundry. Reception was freindly and told us of local attractions Downside was that mold was growing in the walkin of the main bedroom that caused an odour. Linen is canged once if you stay a week or longer but they didnt restock rubbish bags, toilet paper ect which was a little inconvenient.

Lady at reception was quite unhelpful and frustrating. I asked to upgrade to a larger room, she quoted more than the advertised price. Then asked me to start making offers of what to pay? I felt like I was bartering for my hotel room. When I got into our room, the smell was awful. Body odour, either from the cleaner or the previous guests. It was absolutely disgusting. Had to open all the doors and leave for a few hours. With bartering and the smell i thought I was in a 3rd world country. Will never recommend or stay here again.

Stinging jellies in the ocean limited swimming to confined netted areas of the beach. Under some conditions, the netted swim zones were not safe from small stingers. On those occasions, swimming was still possible in the Coral Sands fresh water pool. We did not like the absence of common items like no blender to make our fruit smoothies with, no hand towels, face cloths, or hand soap. Cooking items such as vinegar, cooking oil, and spices were not left for next occupants.

Perfect location

Generally ok typical well used accommodation. The in room book tells you the apartments are privately owned, Which perhaps leads to the lack of information between reception and apartment users. Especially re internet. Owner would could use a little more thought into providing a little more utilities. Due to overseas and interstate users.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. It had all the comforts of home. Both bedrooms had there own bathrooms. The only fault in the apartment was there were small cockroaches in the cabinets.
