Coral Harbour Beach House and Villas is right on the beach and away from tourists. It is a tranquil area. While the beach is not necessarily private, we never had to share the beach with more than a handful of people (truly). Suppose you love waking up and being right on the beach, enjoying the view (the sun rises and sets in the ocean), silence, simple accommodations, kind people and homemade food you can wait for, walking 15 min to a grocery store, and perhaps meeting a couple of people who enjoy doing the same. In that case, this is the place for you. It is the Caribbean with Caribbean vibes and pace. Disconnect, slow down, and enjoy. If you want quick customer service, luxury, being entertained and served, this is not the place for you. If you enjoy scuba diving or snorkeling, it is across the street from Stuart Cove's. Recommendation: rent a car to visit Jaws Beach, Love Beach, and other places on the Island. Bring something for breakfast and snacks. Bring a book or stare at the ocean all day. Vanessa, the manager, is super kind and helpful. Edan, the restaurant's chef-manager, offers an exciting menu daily. He's an amazing person to talk to. Restaurant hours: 12 pm-8 pm. Looking forward to the next time.
The ocean wiev
This property is in disrepair and not well kept- broken locks on the doors, broken lights in the parking area, outlets that do not work, this place is in need of major renovation and cleaning. The listing shows breakfast served at 8am, this is not the case. When I called the manager about getting coffee, she dropped off some instant coffee with a few bottles of water- which we appreciated immensely. The cleanliness of the room was okay- but very dirty fans & no remote for the TV (the manager was able to find a remote after we called her). Air conditioner worked well and was nice. The photos on the website are no reflection of this property. Just be warned that when you arrive, the place appears closed down- the area that might have once been the office is closed, with the rental area looking in need of some sprucing up. The furniture and beds are old & not what you expect when seeing the advertising listing. The property is right on the water, with a small beach access, with some lounge chairs- but one kayak for rental and just overall dingy appearance. The dining area and bar are just off the beach- the listing says two bars- there is only one next to the dining area. The food was great! We had a rice and beans, curry chicken which was the best thing about the place. This property is also not close to any grocery or stores- you have to walk about .5 mile to the nearest place to buy water. If you stay here, you will need a car to take you to beaches that are beachier!
Bed was very comfortable and the beach was beautiful . A very budget friendly place to stay , a bit out of the way so you must rent a car . Friendly staff not always onsite but will get back to you if you need them . I’d stay again
My stay was perfect I love the staff so friendly my flight was changed she gave extra time with no charge the room so clean nice beach on the back I will never choose another place very nice for family to enjoy
Roaches infected
No staff to check us in awful
The room was very clean and the staff was very helpful. They were always available to answer any questions that I may have.
staff was helpful.
Too much light at night, everything else is fine
I liked everything the but holes in front of the property i dont like.
I could of walk out of my room door on the beach into the water
No towels in the bathroom, no coffee maker no kitchen essentials. It was just a place to rest.
It should not be listed as a 4 1/2 star venue/hotel/villa, the door electronic lock was broken they bypassed it by jimmying the key plate, the only way to lock that door was by $2.00 shed slide lock, a safety issue, the room had mold, the room had several cockroaches, the patio doors were unaligned, making them UNABLE to close properly, a safety issue, plugged in the fridge sparks shot out of the outlet, no on site place to eat, the toilet wouldn't flush, I have pictures of all the items listed. I did not stay, I left by taxi and had to book a hotel, The Courtyard by Marriot, I have PROOF of checking in on the 9th, I have picture proof of the room.
Nothing to like. Cockroaches. Run down. No food. Had to order Domino's Pizza. No face towels. None of he amenities listed were
Rooms here were nice and the beach was beautiful. But this is by No Means what was advertised! There is absolutely no food here and both “restaurants” look like they’ve been closed for years. The only thing open was the sand bar that is basically a run down shack that serves beer from a cooler and mixed drinks from bottles that have been sitting in the sun all day. If you’re looking for a nice quiet retreat id recommend this place. But if you’re looking for a resort with amenities stay on the north side of the island. Uber is non existent on the island so you need to rent a car or pay big money for a taxi if you want to leave the motel at all.
While the staff was pleasant and helpful, the hotel is simply run down and in need of a makeover. It felt like an old abandoned western motel. The room was not ready by 5pm. The water was not working until they fixed it. The room was just in needs of repair. Would not stay there again.
The staff are friendly and I did feel safe in the area, however, this is definitely a rustic experience. If you are resourceful and need no frills this place is perfect.
The property is quiet and ammenities are good for a getaway. Decor and customer service were middling at best. We didn't like that the coded door lock was not operational forcing us to leave our room unlocked during absences.
The property is very old and in disrepair. The manager wasn’t even aware that we were arriving. Our rooms were poorly equipped and could have been cleaner. Their amenities said they have a restaurant but it was more like a takeout menu. On the good side the people were very friendly and the manager went out of her way to arrange a morning taxi for us.
This property is as advertised. Quiet, beach access, and everyone there is super friendly. My trip was for work so it served the purposes with wifi, cold AC and a kitchenette. The staff at the bar was super friendly and check in was very easy.
Not good
All the staff had really good manners. If you’re traveling solo or without children or a looking to spend a quick night, this place is for you. Anything over 1 night, I wouldn’t recommend. The electricity went out twice, clogged toilet, no housekeeping. Old furniture, old fridge with peeling paints. Needs renovation. No breakfast as advertised. On a private beach (unclean), quiet, friendly staff, near downtown. If you’re staying there, just don’t go with any 5 star hotel expectations and be prepared to drive a few miles for food.
This resort was not at all as advertised. The beach was filthy and full of stinky seaweed. The accommodations were unclean, most items in the room were broken/missing, the staff was disorganized and/or non existent. Stains on the towels, foreign hairs in the bed, no shower curtain (which we found crumpled in the closet later) broken towel rack and toilet paper holders, rusty faucets, toilet didn't flush, no keys were issued for our room. The stray dogs in the dining area were at least tame and docile. We left and went to another hotel.
The bad weather impacted our stay so could not even assess the beach location which was presumably 😌
!
it's right on the beach
This property desperately needs repair.
Great location for a peaceful getaway. The Staff are super friendly and accommodating. Food is great too!!
Vanessa was awesome! She made our stay the best! We will definitely stay again! Bahamas owes us nothing! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Vanessa!
This property is a complete dump. Do not be deceived by old pics. The host is very unprofessional. Complete Scam, none of the advertised amenities exist. I paid in advance for a week vacation but the property was so deplorable, I had to book somewhere suitable for humans. A wrecked junk car is a entrance of property, the " guest services" was a cluttered mess. A pigeon was found in our room pooping all over. If a dump is your idea of a pleasant stay, please look no further. Do not waste your money at this dump.
The facility is old ; shower had very little pressure and water flow. Furniture is old
We enjoyed the very pleasant welcome and service from Precious. We enjoyed delicious peas and rice with jerk chicken as well as great breakfast. The property is undergoing some much needed maintenance work that will improve things in the future. We had to book something for one night at the very last minute and this place suited our needs perfectly. The location is away from the crowds and has a small but lovely private beach.
Authentic Bahamian experience. If you’re looking to be a pampered tourist like at an all-inclusive hotel, don’t come here. This beautifully scenic and delightfully quiet paradise is for the traveler looking to relax and enjoy natural beauty. The shrimp gyro is out of this world delicious. We were terribly sad to leave as we made friends with the entire staff at Coral Harbour Beach House & Villas. In 4 days, we have become great friends.
fix shower
I loved this place. Super friendly staff. Nice area. Cute little private beach for guests. The restaurant food was also amazing with generous portions. Would recommend.
Overall a very good experience for the price. What to beware of: most of the rooms DO NOT have partial ocean view, they mostly face the parking lot (beach is in the distance beyond the trees); rooms don't have working TVs; rooms don't come with water as advertised, you have to ask. The staff is super but very overworked, they have too much to deal with so most requests take ages - including the food as many have written. The chef is very nice and does her best to provide everything you request. Vanessa at the front office is very obliging and does her best to keep everyone happy. The beach here isn't turquoise blue like it is on the north shore, BUT it also isn't swarmed with other tourists - it's pretty private and you get a Bahamian feel as opposed to big resorts that feel like you're in key west. The conch salad here is super (get the scorched version), and you get a local flavor. They even pack up food for you to eat in your rooms if you wish (although they say they don't really have room service, they will do their best for you). There's also a market and dominos right nearby which is convenient. Hotel needs to put water and coffee in the rooms daily!! get the TVs working! But overall a little gem of a place - just keep your expectations in check and remember that even crappy bit hotels in Nassau cost hundreds of dollars more and aren't as good or as private.
We stayed here one night as a stopover, mostly because it was close to the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful but the condition of the room was not worth the price. We paid 300 USD for the night so I expected something much nicer. The AC was leaking water (they fixed it), the TV didn’t work, the key code for the door didn’t work, the room was dark and felt dated. I also realized too late in the night that we only had three pillows on our beds for four people so I used towels for a pillow. 300 is too much for the conditions of the room.
Friendly and helpful staff. Community feel. Delicious Jerk Chicken! I would stay here again.
We were stuck in Nassau and needed a room. The hotel staff was friendly and welcomed us warmly. They made us dinner and breakfast. We had time for a nice walk on the beach. The price was reasonable.
Nice place, friendly people
Wonderful quiet place on the south side of the island with an impressive beach and very helpful staff.
If you’re looking for a quite and wild place, far from the city, this will be perfect. Precious (the bartender) was amazing in taking care of us and helping in getting us a car. You will need a car to move around the island, buses are not common and taxi are expensive. Overall was very good time staying here!
No front office. No wash clothes. Sheets had stains. Room was filled with mosquitoes. The mattresses on the bed had a rather deep indentation which caused back pain and lack of sleep. The bathroom mirror had a hole cut out with a electrical outlet in. The bathroom shower barely worked enough to even take a shower. Once in the shower I noticed hair and mold everywhere. This place is purely a cash grab from outsiders.
I couldn't even stay at this property, i had to immediately find another hotel to stay, it was smelly, old, run down, unkept, overall horrible.
Property needs to be fenced in with additional security measures in place
If you want plastic luxury, this isn't it. If you want genuine local vibe, beautiful quiet beach and lovely humans- it can't be better.
This is a really charming family-run property right on an absolutely gorgeous beach. Rooms are lovely and well air-conditioned. We felt really taken-care of by the staff. This isn't the Four Seasons, don't expect super-luxury, but I felt welcome and accommodated in a way I never have at so-called "world class" resorts and hotels.
Staff was very nice and welcoming. Room was not clean, dead bugs on wall, bathroom light was not working, dirty spoon and cups in sink. I was bit by mosquitos during the night, I had to move the table lamp to the bathroom so I can see. Water pressure was extremely poor, very difficult to take a shower. Toilet did not flush.
Don't Stay
Upon check-in - nobody to assist - ate at restaurant and got food poisoning - sick for the first night with vomiting and diarrhea - no towels - no wash rags in bathroom - no sheet on the bed - couch was disgusting - refrigerator not plugged in - kitchen cabinets damaged from a previous fire-
when we arrived at the property it was a run down dump. All the lights were off and the doors were locked! We thought we were going to be robbed in the parking lot. I cannot believe Expedia would promote such a place.
Didnt get room we rented. No airport transportation as described.
I flew to Nassau to scuba dive. The manager, Vanessa, and all of the staff was very kind, helpful and dedicated to making my stay great. They provide a complimentary taxi to and from the airport and the taxi man, Mr King, was friendly, courteous and prompt. This property is located in a quiet area away from the touristy parts of the island and has its own beautiful beach with covered and uncovered seating to enjoy. The water was gorgeous. There is parking onsite but since the dive shop, Stuart Cove’s, is across the street I did not need a car. My place had a small kitchen with stove and refrigerator, a bedroom with king sized bed and a living area with a futon couch. It was very comfortable. There are two bar/restaurants onsite. One has live music on Sunday nights. The owner has other entertainment scheduled at various times. The food here is wonderful and the pricing was very reasonable, especially, after hearing the prices for meals other divers paid where they stayed. The jerk pork dinner was my favorite but everything I tried was great. This stay was perfect for me. Quiet, great food onsite and the dive boat was just across the street. Even so, the owner is continuing to renovate and improve things to ensure his guests a great stay. I will definitely stay here again when I return. It is the place to stay when diving Nassau as far as I am concerned.
Amazing place to escape
This was an amazing and affordable place to stay in Nassau Bahamas and enjoy your time right next-door to do nice beautiful beach you can walk right outside of your room to get a few cool drinks and walk right down to the beach with you cocktail. I spit I spend most of my time on they are wonderful and amazing bar right on the beach front you can’t eat the Bahamas delicious dishes drink the Bahamas stay with cocktails enjoy yourself by by yourself on the beachfront and all with friends and family this is a amazing place and I enjoyed my time and you will as well it’s an escape from an escape
It wasn't worth the money I paid.pictures don't .match the place
Expedia should take this hotel off its list of options in Nassau. It’s run down, dirty, ants and cockroaches in our room. We asked the front desk lady for toilet paper since there was none in the room and she gave us a stack of paper towels. The sink and shower barely drained. And the worst part was the price, $250/night. Do not stay here.
Everyone was very nice. It’s an older hotel, but very clean. Perfect for an over night stay.
Beach, breakfast, canoeing, etc. we’re all nice to have so close by, although I did not use any. However the lock on the sliding glass door was broke & there was an in house lock in the front door, I did not feel safe. The bathroom is barely bigger than the airplane restroom & is very dated. I would not stay here again, even though the staff was very nice & accommodating.
It has a at home feeling unlike most hotels . we really enjoy
I like that it has this at home feeling unlike the big hotels
It was a great place for the price! The staff was totally accommodating, couldn’t be better! The beach is quiet and very nice. It was the real Bahamian small hotel experience.
I loved everything about the place all slthe staff was very nice n helpfull
Vanessa and staff was awesome .i was waiting on my ride to take me to the store to get medicine for my baby and vanessa took me and brought me back to the resort before my ride reach
There was nothing likeable about it would like a refund
It looks like a brothel, unsafe, unclean, staff was unpleasant. I would not recommend this place.
The staff are nice, the ambience is "beach house" cozy. Problems: shower not working; bathroom extremely small; first day they didn't make my room at all; no shampoo in the room (very inconvenient after a swim in the ocean); breakfast is extremely simple and only available after 8. None of this you have any chance of knowing beforehand. All that was acceptable if it wasn't for the price tag: I paid USD 180 per night! It felt more like a 50/night room.
Enjoyable stay, lack-luster food, beautiful grounds!
Nice staff, but things like DOOR LOCKS - should work!! And cleaning up the room only once in a week? The place is in tough shape. Sorry it’s just not very clean.
The photos and the description of the Hotel doesn't match with the actual conditions of the facilities. Not recommended unless is your last choice.
An experience
I can't say enough about the hotel staff ladies, Vanessa in Particular who go the extra mile to accommodate guests' needs. However the proprietor is not giving this staff much to work with. The rooms appear to be partially renovated but the interiors have not been adequately invested in. The bedding (need a proper laundry servise for the sheets) and window coverings need a serious upgrade. Some of the lighting was not functioning and the kitchen did not have any coffee cups or basics to work with. The included breakfast is very basic. Lastly although the bar restaurant is outdoors and has a bit of authentic local charm, it is looking a bit run down. The flowers were all dead on the table centerpieces, the service was spotty as hotel staff seem to run it as opposed to a restaurant employee. These ladies can't do it all. Lastly, the grounds are pretty depressing overall. This hotel would not be able to charge what it does in most places but that's Nassau for you, inflationary.
It was such a welcoming place! Right on the beach, and extremely relaxing. The room had a view of the ocean from the balcony. The hammocks were great to read in as well.
A relaxing place
Mr. Johnson, Vanessa, and Tamara, as always, were very helpful. They always asked if everything was all right, and were quick to accommodate. I've stayed here many times and look forward to my next stay.
8*) Smiles
Old school beachfront living. Reminded me of all the good times fishing with my dad. People were kind, food was good and the beer was cold. Just what I needed to recharge after a cold tough week at home! None of the hustle or overpriced, overrated bs of big brands.
I love it
This is a wonderful authentic Bahamian hotel. Don’t go if you want to be in Disneyland. Go if you want to be in the actual Bahamas. It’s quiet, on the beach and clean
Excellent Place
The rooms are excellent and the staff were exceptional. They will go out of their way to fulfill your need. My family and I have enjoyed our stay and would go back. The owner, Mr. Johnson is a great guy to talk to History, Religion and the source of information anything you wanted to do while in Bahamas. The taxi driver, Rodney is a knowledgeable of Bahamas landmark, a safe driver and will give you great rates if you don't drive. The Hotel will have the number for you.
This place is NOT for the average tourist.
The rooms are barely OK. Small and not upto the average American tourist standards. The only good things I can say about this place are; the AC works, there is plenty of hot water, the toilet flushes. This is a LOCAL joint. The locals come to the un-airconditioned bar every night. The food while very good, is very local! If you want to experience the real Bahamian Experience, this is the place. There is Nothing around there. The beach is OK and there is nobody on it but you. You can walk for miles and not see another person. This area was hard hit by a hurricane in late 2016. There are destroyed homes and dead trees everywhere! A stay here will cost as much as a much nice hotel on the North side of the island or on Paradise Island .
Disappointing in the staff, the area was ok
poor customer service, dirty room, staff with improper training, no politeness and staff act like we owe them something. We are the guest they should want guests and appreciate and value guests
Bahama mini vacation
The outside of the hotel is run down. The continental breakfast had spoiled food both days. It's a $50 cab ride to Nassau from there. The only reason I rated it 3 stars is the people and the beach. The staff was amazing and fun, and the beach is literally RIGHT there and beautiful. If this were $70/night, I might still come back, despite its shortcomings. But it was over $200/night! Highway robbery.
Great little hotel very close to beach
Nice place to be away from the city and just a place to relax
Quiet. Old style. No crowds. Not near cruise area.
I have stayed here before and know the owners. They are great. This is an old school property. Nothing modern. Hotwire booked the room, got their money, and thought all is good. Property took first hit from cat 4 hurricane eye. They are really not open yet. They took good care of me. No food on site, but can still have a cold beer.
just wish they had better up keep
The stay was nice. Very quiet & relaxing. Just wish they had better maintainance service
Relaxing Time
I chose this hotel because I wanted to be away from the crowds. I loved to have the beach practically to myself. The staff at the hotel was great, they went out of their way to make my stay pleasant. The location is really isolated, so having a car is a must. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood and I felt safe all the time.
Very basic hotel.
We were only there for one night, we arrived late and left early the following morning so are not really in a position to write an extensive review. It was basic and offered all we needed - a bed a shower and some average food.
Great location, Bad Staff and Facility
The room wasn't what they show on their site. The bathroom was TINY, the water pressure in the shower wasn't good (we had to go somewhere else to shower). The door had (1) lock so safety was an issue. They cleaned the room and left the same sheet from days before. The check-in person was rude, whenever I let her know about the issues her response was that's what I paid for. We paid for (5) nights (6) days stay but I only spent 2 nights there, we checked out early because we were so disgusted with the Place & Attitude. So I felt like I wasted my money going there.
Ok hotel. Not great.
Not worth the price. Bathroom lock was broken. Toilet paper holder was missing. Some iron here and there was rusted. Restaurant service was super slow. It took us an hour to get our food. The view from the restaurant is good. Not sufficient utensils in tje kitchen. Hotel is right by the beach, which is a good part. So you need to decide based on what you are looking for. Staff is courteous. They gave us early check in also
Disgusting place to stay
This room was absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed! Room was filthy, torn curtains, shower only drizzle in tiny bathroom, carpet, beds, ceiling walls all stained. Found a used needle in the parking lot. Lock on door was added and substandard. Literally slept with 1 eye open all night, never felt safe. Water had broken beer bottles in it so you couldn't even walk out into the water. HORRIBLE
Bad Bad
The hotel was not great for anything. I don't recommend staying here ever\!
Overnight stay in Nassau
It was a great hotel for an overnight stay close to the airport. $22 cab ride from airport. It was away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Loved the hammocks and the beach. We were able to watch the sunset and enjoy a beer on the beach. The rooms were clean with no bugs. We didn't eat at the little restaurant. Just had a couple of beer. Enjoyed a great complimentary breakfast in the morning. We made our own waffles. We requested a cab for a morning flight and it arrived on time, in fact, a bit early. I think it is a good hotel for a overnight stay.
Nice beach but cut off from everything else
Room had kitchen but no where to eat unless you ate on the balcony off a little table. Just a bed and not even a chair to sit on. No phone in the room. We left immediately and forfeited our money. Definitely wouldn't recommend to someone who is looking for comfort.
Great escape from live
Great experience! Nothing fancy, but if you want a relaxing time with exposure to local culture, then this is the place. The bar has a restaurant with it, which has good local cuisine. The hotel has a private beach which we would often have to ourselves. The staff is friendly and accommodating.
Quiet Getaway
The location was close to the international airport, yet quiet. Coral Harbour is as far away as one can get from busy tourist beaches and resorts and Nassau traffic. The little apartment was clean and had a nice sitting area and kitchen. The beach was quiet and enjoyable. Staff was always there to help if there was a problem.
4 days in the Bahamas
Friendly staff. Nice room good views. Music at the weekend. You need a car to stay here but a local bus ride into Nassau is a must and cheap at 10 bucks return. On
Great Service.
Our stay was pleasant. Private area not too many people around.
Had a great time there!!!
Very nice hotel in secluded area, far away from touristic, high traffic parts of Nassau. Right on the beach. Ideal for people that are looking for quiet retreat. Reflects the character of Bahamas. Very nice and helpful staff. Clean and well maintained facility. Good affordable food at the hotel restaurant, and some rooms have a kitchenette. There is a convenience store 25 minutes by foot from the hotel. If you want to explore the island you need to have a car. Taxis are not cheap. Beware of bottom of the ocean which has coral rocks. Bring beach water shoes.
Nice stop after a week of diving on live aboard!!
My husband and I was in great need of a nice rest after a great but exhausting week of diving on a live aboard boat!! It was just what we needed. Nothing around except ocean and a comfy bed!! The restaurant was good and the continental breakfast was more a hot one (eggs, waffles, toast, bagels, fruits, cereals) The staff was friendly and helpful!! Nothing fancy but a great place for peace and quiet!!
Worst place to stay
I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. The hotel is in a bad area and scary to stay at. it reminds me of a hotel in TJ Mexico. The woman at the office was a nice person, the resturand was awful took about 45 minutes to order and get food hamburger and cheese sandwich basically had to follow the waitress around to get served. Giant cockroaches in room we killed with shoe. The travel company involved should be ashamed to have them on there website and I should get a refund for lack of food and sleep due to this hotel.
Scary
Scary area, didn't feel very safe. Had someone try to come in my room one night.
Hotel for layover
Booked this hotel to try to keep costs of an unexpected layover down. I would call this a two star. The building is on the quiet/residential side of Nassau and from what I could tell there was no food/drinks/entertainment within walking distance, so if you want to go out you would have to walk a ways, possibly after dark, or tack the cost of a taxi round trip on to dinner or whatever. There was an on-site restaurant, we were told, but it burned down a few weeks ago. They are rebuilding it, so maybe when that is up the food/drink situation will improve. The building was in a little rougher condition than I was expecting, but maybe my expectations were unrealistic. If I could do over again I might have spent a little more for better location and newer building. I guess it's okay for a layover but I wouldn't make this my destination. The staff was friendly and helpful for the most part.
long wait for food
The rooms were OK with unpredictable AC, there is no pool and the biggest problem was the food. The kitchen burned down in a recent fire (July 2015) and we had to wait for 2 hr for dinner.
Coral Harbour Beach House And Villas | Hotel in Nassau | Travala.com
When we arrived we really thought it was a bad joke. Everything was terrible. Everything seemed improvised. The person in charge did everything possible to make us feel comfortable. We thanked her, but it was not enough.
