They requested a $500.00 damage deposit for a room that was already very damaged and dirty. I took photos as soon as we were in the room to prove damage was already there and showed them to the staff. When we went to checkout, the staff didn’t know how to deal with the booking through Expedia and wanted to add another payment to my card and were attempting to add the payment to the machine manually even though i showed them my online booking receipt. The manager eventually stepped in and let me leave. Also the room was super hot even after we turn the temperature way down. I had to soak towels with cold water, put them in the fridge, and change them out all night long while trying to sleep under them. The bathroom floor had hair and debris all over it. The beds flet like laying down on plywood with a bedcover over it. Suppose to be a non-smoking room and floor but the hallway had lingering smoke in it when we got off the elevator and there were burn marks on the tv stand in our room.

We were booked for three nights. When we arrived, they checked us in as usual. When we got to our room, it was hot. I called reception to ask why, and the lady said, ‘There’s no air conditioning. Would you like a fan?’ I said no, I need a room with air conditioning, or we can just move to a different hotel. The lady then said they would just give us a refund. The hotel lobby was dirty.

It is not a good hotel to stay in .

It is so old and dated (in a terribly scary not busy/back alley). Not the “normal”lobby it was old/small/ dingy, drugs our front. I was worried. When I got to the room it was old/dated but clean enough. So I stayed. Would never stay again.

I didn't feel safe at this hotel, especially having to walk my dogs at night. The front desk service was good, we went to the elevator and there was a pile of onion rings on the floor, the lights in the elevator were disgustingly dirty. We walked to our room regretting our choice for the weekend and our keys didn't work so at that point decided it was time to leave. We didn't stay and won't again.

Would not recommend

The beds were horrible, they have so many homeless people living there my Kids couldn’t sleep because of all the noise and partying. Screaming in the halls. Horrible beds. Bed bug covers at least. Gross and dirty

Dirty a very noisy environment

The inn is very dated but the rooms are clean. The staff was very accommodating

The pictures are not accurate of the property. Very dated. Tremendous noise from other rooms, drunk people in the halls, 2 nights in a row. Writing this at 4am as still not able to sleep due to the noise. Staff is very good and friendly, only good thing to say. Shower has very little pressure you may as well pour a cup of water over your head. We will never stay in this chain again. Unfortunately it was close to where we needed be.

The rooms condition was quite dated and many things in the room were damaged or broken including the thermostat and the tv. The room was clean and, despite the damage, tidy/well cared for. There was a lot of noise from other rooms and floors while trying to sleep.

When booking I requested beds for 5 people. It put my transaction through. When we got there they told us we were only allowed 4 people per room.

Honestly, it was like being in an episode of hotel hell with Gordon Ramsey. Front entrance desk/cabinet is literally held together with moving tape. Rooms had alot of damage, leaking faucet, stains on carpet and chairs, furniture wasnt matching, and was extremely old. For $184 for one single night, not worth it. I've stayed at $50 motels nicer than this. Extremely dissapointed. Staff was friendly. Only thing I have good to say about this.

Love the location however lots of sketchy neighbouring people around hotel. Great price👍

Food was good. Restaurant service was good. The noise, banging on the wall most of the night, the smell of cigarette smoke and Marijuana smoke all night, and the 3 am phone call was unacceptable. Probably will NOT be staying here again.

No playpen or crib, blankets were thin, and so were the pillows. Noisy at night from other guests.

Front desk customer was excellent...

Food is great, staff is awesome, great atmosphere . I highly recommend staying at the West Continental Inn

My family (we have young children) had to deal with other guests who reeked of marijuana in the lobby while checking in. Could not get a luggage cart, another family had one tied up in the lobby for the entire time (25 minutes) it took us to unload and get settled. Room floor was sticky like a dance floor at a bar. Bathtub not clean. Coming back to hotel later in evening, there were drunks outside, lots of smokers. Did not like taking our kids past this kind of activity. Inside there were rowdy guests, loud and noisy until 3am. Wife and son went to get an extra pillow from front desk (reservation was for 5, only 4 pillows in room.) and while waiting they observed a prostitute there. Upon going down in the morning to complain and check out a day early, we pointed out a man passed out in the hallway next to the restaurant. We didn't expect a 5 star hotel, but did not expect this kind of establishment. The lady at the desk was gracious to our situation, we felt bad for her because she knew the hotel had better days in the past.

Its says air conditioning and iron ac wasn't working and iron wasn't there very noisy and smell was awful down the hallway and rooms smell cigarettes. My room atleast as it showed in pictures

Friendly service. Great price.

Smelled terribly. Loud partying and cigarette smoke is constant day and night. Police 2-5 times a night.

I like that it's smoke free and they have laundry facilities. They're were kids in the room close by and could hear one crying which was unpleasant but it happens so not the hotels fault. Overall I was really happy and came back 2 days later for another stay.

I read some of the reviews of this property before booking. I have no idea why this hotel is rated so low. From when we arrived until we left, we had nothing but good things to say about Staff, the hotel and the area. its well worth the price!

The room smelt like smoke from the old carpet most likely. The bathroom did not have a fan, and the door was difficult to shut likely from the steam of the showers. So our smoke detector that was placed right outside of the bathroom would keep going off from the steam. The housekeeper also just opened the door to our room without knocking first or anything.

It was close to where i was going for my appointment.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and my room although fairly basic was very clean and pretty quiet.

Satisfactory & affordable

Parking lot was filthy with cigarette butts and garbage. Beds are horrible and the AC wasn’t working and uncomfortable night. The Lounge/Games room is too quiet, should at least play a radio station. Here’s some good features; Great location, good restaurant and 24 hour security

There was bags of garbage lying on the hallway, we thought maybe they are cleaning but they where there the whole time we stayed there, the place is very dirty and it had a bad small in the hallways the front desk staff was nice! I will never stay there again!

There were people smoking in their rooms . The room that we stayed in had a stench of tobacco and pot. The bathroom was so small , there was only room for one person to stand . There was a small fridge in the room that made howling noise when it kicked in. The thermostat in the room was falling apart. There was litter in the hallways for 2 days before someone picked it up. Loud and drunk people on the floor that kept yelling and slamming doors all night long.

The bed was comfortable and the in-room coffee was pretty good. It was nice having a microwave and mini-fridge. Parking was easy and accessible. The room was really old, but that's fine, it's an old hotel, and it was expected. The bedding was clean and neat. However, the lobby and restaurant smelled like smoke, random people just hanging around every time I went through the main floor, there were people partying in our hallway most of the night, the pillows were really lumpy, and the bathtub faucet ran all night. There was no card lock on the elevator which made the room feel unsafe, especially with the party right by my suite all night. There was no chain lock on the door to add that slight extra protection.

Nothing good about it.

Old and maintenance is terrible no air conditioning offered me a fan if I need to. Very bad experience with this hotel I had to cancel and find another hotel with a last minute booking. Beware of booking on this hotel you will regret it.

Excellent staff, very friendly. The building is old and run down evidence of stains on walls and ceiling, and carpet’s in room. No A/C as advertised. Rooms are very Hot

The stay was terrible. I had to change hotel as i was not comfortable staying there with family. I went to Edmonton with family but it does not seem like a family friendly hotel. There were always 10-15 people in front of the main door smoking. The room was not clean as there were stains on the carpet and you cant leave your little one on the floor or carpet. Coffee machine didnt seem like was cleaned properly. Overall very disappointed as it cost me double to book another hotel.

PRICE AND CLEAN

I think they need to fix some things around the place to make it a bit nicer. The ac in the room couldn’t be tuned off, the beds were unconscious, the lighting in the bathroom was horrible and the carpet behind the counter was dirty. But the the front desk staff lady was freaking amazing and so freaking sweet! The housekeepers did an amazing job! So there is some give and take from our experience!

A lot of homeless in the area however there is security 24/7👍😁 My spouse cut his on the bathroom door, went to ask front desk for a bandaid and she said she couldn’t because she would have to do a full checklist of the first aid kit. What’s the point of having a first aid kit, if they can’t provide to their guests👎 Restaurant is good and very friendly staff👍

Very run down, the curtains were useless as they had holes everywhere and the sun kept us up. Very noisy, the lights didn’t work, the lamp was burnt out. It was nice to have fridge and microwave. However the staff were amazing. Such a shame that the hotel itself was so bad that I don’t think I would ever go back.

Close to west Ed mall

Our room was very warm and no way to regulate it, the room was spacious and comfortable other than that

The location was great . BUT, the overall experience was terrible . From disgusting carpet stains ( not sure what slime it was) to people yelling back and forth, kids screaming, doors being knocked on constantly, and shady people throughout the hotel and property . I was told that the government was housing people . NEVER EVER WOULD I RECOMEND THIS HOTEL . For $95.00/ night I should have slept in my truck . I would have felt safer .

Nothing fancy with this hotel. Beds are the regular with clean sheets and bathroom were clean. But i felt the room temp were too warm and no way we could control it.

The location of the hotel is close to West Edmonton Mall. The series here is goog.

The area of the hotel is poor and scabby many homeless wondering around wasn’t going to park my truck there in fear of being broke into or vandalized

Never staying here

I will never stay here again. Didnt have much sleep, next room was a loud rude drunk who was freaking out for a fix. Food from prior guest on carpet left, hair in tub and beds, stains on sheets. Beds were so uncomfortable, springs were exposed. Asked for late check out to get some rest but housekeeping was also loud in morning. Checking out, front desk Natalia didnt seem to care didnt greet or ask how was our stay. Check in was good the two ladies were welckming and friendly.

Always great to stay there. Restaurant has great staff and awesome hone made meals and they do not skimp on servings

This was my worst experience in a hotel ever. Dirty/filthy actually! They stole my truck’s exhaust in the parking lot!

Even with the Covid 19 virus, the service was great. The bed and pillows were not as comfortable as I had hoped.

The music they had in the cafeteria n the food. N what I didn’t like was 1 bed was really bad to sleep on I think it was broken it made a lot of noise when u moved around.

The bed is very uncomfortable far too stiff. We rented a suite with a hot tub just to be disappointed, it had black gunk all around the drain so we didnt even end up using it.

Horrible place and staff

First of allwhen we arrive in the hotel was people standing smoking and the smell was bad when we going in the hotel also is the smell is Smokey and the other thing we checking when we saw our home oh my goodness it's smelly and we can't stay there tonight but we said already it's late we have to an the next day we have to check out when we go down in the front desk in the front desk and we told her and we want to check out today she said you didn't reserve from ours so this is for hotel.com you have to call so even she didn't give us a chance to tell her what's that situation we go up and we call a good thing the one representative is he's a very nice from customer service and he helped us we told him our situation and he he said he will talk to the hotel and then he will come back to us but he did he said he apologized and he cancel the today's and then we find our own if we said we can still book under you guys because it's a situation we cannot handle it this mail and the carpet is very dirty it's not exaggerate it's very dirty so after he talked to us everything and then we heard is Aries unexpectable situation from front desk for the housekeeping that's what they did before we check out before we take out our luggage from inside and our door is disconnected and then we out we was out we try to use the keys not working the housekeeper help us to get our luggage out for the roothey are mean this is the truth they are mean I don't recommend it for anybody to stay there

Clean staff were friendly beds comfortable and clean

Quick overnight stay resulted in a total let down. from the beggars for change out the front doors, the smokers you had to walk around, the stained dirty carpet that looked like it hadn't been vacuumed and the curtains that we filled with holes. I didn't even want to try the shower. The patrons running up and down the hallways hollering obscenities in the night and the children screaming all night. I understand that children may be cranky but please help console them. The room was hot with no way to control the air. i'm glad I wore long pj,s.. the bed sheets had stains on them. My self and the other room mate were just too tired to go anywhere else. This is not my place to stay again.

The location is great close to West Edmonton Mall and the price is also great.

It was the nosies hotel I’ve ever been in. Every door that shut in the hall you could hear. People were up allllll night long. Definitely the WORST hotel I’ve ever been to. Booked 2 queens and got two double and still charged way too much. Smelled like cigarettes everywhere. DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL

we only stayed one night, but staff were very accommodating. Appreciate that there were real mugs for our coffee!

I used my credit card and I had to pay again with my debit card so I was charged twice for the room. Now I have to wait 5 days to get my money back. I'm so disappointed so I think I'll be staying at a different hotel next time and the room beside me was very noisy party going on.

The beds were uncomfortable and the room was very outdated. The door had an inch gap at the bottom so you hear everything out in the hall... the vacuum the next morning sounded as if it was right next to me. You pay for what you get. I would definitely spend the few extra bucks next time and stay somewhere else.
