Super friendly and helpful staff.

The Commodore was easy to find and a great place to stay. The bed was comfortable, shower great and easy walking distance to the rugby. We would definately stay there again.

Short stay and didn't spend a lot of time in the room so was fit for purpose. Clean and tidy, had a unit separate to the motel complex.

The beaches were within minutes of this hotel. We even were able to walk to a restaurant for supper. Vikki was very very accommodating with whatever questions we had. Very informative. We stayed two nights and so glad we did.

We loved staying in our unit, it's clean, fully furnished, walkable to all stores like New World, Countdown, coffee shops and University . Great place to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Will definitely stay there again.

Well presented older property which has received some recent upgrades. Extremely comfortable and close to several dining options. Well worth consideration if you are after value for money.

Awesome service and room, would happily stay here again. It's proximity to student accommodation might lead to some noisy streets, but nothing that kept me awake.

Lovely folk. Appreciated the welcoming text prior to arrival. Room was all one could need and very clean! Not a frequent user, so it could have helped to have had the fridge switched on - or told it was off. No I didn't notice for a day and a bit. Liked that they gave an eco responsible option for towels/waste bags etc

We had a 2 bedroom unit located at rear of complex which made for a nice quiet stay. Had everything we needed.

i think that the TV channels offered are too limited. Why not have more Sky channels, e.g. CNN, BBC, more Sky sport and movies, etc. With much else to do on these cold evenings, they should make watching TV pleasurable. .

The Commodore Motel was clean and spacious and much better than what I was expecting in a "motel". The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were large and had potential to sleep families and larger groups. It was a pleasant stay in the beautiful town of Dunedin.

Location is not very convenient enough. Our room faces front of the road, a bit noisy and unsecured if open windows. In room conditions is okay.

An older property now that has once been one of the best. However, it is still good, and is good value, and the information about sightseeing from the manager is great.

This is an old motel. Quite dated. Plastic shower recess. Also located on busy road with quite a bit of noise at night. Staff friendly and helpful. But second day servicing of room poor. For half the price it might have been ok.

Having lived in Dunedin many years and coming back as a visitor, it was nice to finally stay and I was really impressed. Service on arrival was fantastic, taken personally to my room shown around and very pleasant manner.

Incredibly friendly staff, had a great stay over a very busy weekend.

Lovely, welcoming staff - couldn't fault them at all. Very convenient location, especially walking to Forsyth Barr stadium and has some great cafes in the surrounding area. Room smaller than pictures show, but had everything we needed and was very clean.

Disappointing stay

Really unhappy with the room that was allocated, a cabin away from the main building which was at best two star standard, bath room had mold and loose floor tiles and a stale drain smell. It was a queen bed although we thought we we were getting a king bed, not even a motel guide in the room and wifi was patchy. Very disappointing.

Hotel staff were warm, very pleasant and extremely helpful. Room was very well set up for homely stay with full cooking facilities.

Great place to stay downtown Dunedin

Very handy location to visit Dunedin and close to city surroundings. Family friendly and parking onsite. Very spacious well equipped rooms. The only downside was that there was no onsite restaurant. But there are places within walking distance and the hotel across the road has a restaurant. They even send the bill into the hotel where the payment could be made at the front office! Staff are great and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay over there and would recommend the place to a friend!

A modern, clean motel with friendly helpful staff. The motel is well situated beside the Botanical Gardens. We will stay there again when we are in Dunedin.

Great place to stay

We were very impressed with the service at Commodore Motel - they even loaned us an umbrella when we got caught out with the weather. Our room was clean and tidy, and the bathroom was nice. The only thing we needed was some air conditioning as it was incredibly hot while we were there! All in all it was a great place to stay and we would stay there again.

two bedroom unit spacious ideal for family clean + well appointed

We had an issue with the booking reservation (receptionist could not find it) however the matter was resolved by the time we left the following morning and we were reimbursed for the extra money we initially had to pay. The receptionist was more than helpful sorting out the problem.

Staff went out of their way to be helpful, very friendly. Highly recommend. A simple motel with everything you need, exceptionally clean.

Good location and very comfortable

Overall very happy with our stay. Our only concern was a tendency after cleaning for the cleaners to leave the curtains and windows open which worried us from a security perspective. But that aside great location and very comfortable.

Close to what we wanted, warm, had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The customer service was absolutely excellent - nothing was too much of a problem. We felt really looked after and everything was easy it was great hassle free and enjoyable.

Quiet location

Although the room ticked most boxes, two issues of note were the free wifi and internet was so poor and slow it was mostly unusable and the water pressure in the shower was very poor when hot water was added. Nevertheless, our stay was generally pleasing and comfortable.

The motel is close to the city, easy to find.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was quiet no traffic noise, very clean and well presented.
