Nice hotel, close to the central railway station, good access to train, tram & bus. Reception staff are excellent with local knowledge of places to visit and great restaurants. Breakfast is expensive at €19.90 unless pre booked as part of a package but good choice of hot & cold food. We had a Chill Out Alm room which was spacious with a separate toilet and bathroom. The TV could be in a better position as it makes it difficult to walk around the bed. The desk is a useful space but has to be cleared to close at night in order to switch off the light around the desk and there is no chair for the desk. The bedside tables are quirky wooden stools that are very small. Some coat hooks would have also been useful.
Convenient location and was easy to connect to train and other public transportation to explore the city. Lots of restaurants and shops around. Easy walk to the historical city centre. The room was on the smaller side, but it was just fine as I was travelling by myself. Due to it's proximity to the train station, it the area is not as charming or residential as other parts of Munich.
The rooms were very small but very cute and themed. I would stay here again..great walking distance to train and trams to fo into city center.
I stayed here twice. The first room I had I loved. Everything was very clean. The second room I got was extremely dirty. No trash can instead a big white bucket. Room was not clean and no towels. The shower needs some work. The water gets everywhere and floods. Breakfast and coffee was great.
Very comfortable bed, quiet property, basic accommodations but exactly what we needed. Very walkable and convenient for train transfers
Staff was welcoming upon arrival, loved the ski theme. Room was tight, but expected for hope and with no expectation to spend more than sleeping hours in room.
Very convenient to the main train station. The breakfast is good, but I’m not sure it’s worth €19. If you get it with your room for less, I would buy it. There’s not much nearby to go for breakfast. We used the train to go almost everywhere. Summer rooms are smaller or larger than others. I know this because we had four rooms and there were three different sizes. Some of them have a separate toilet and separate shower, which is nice if you’re not traveling as a couple. The lobby is cute and the coffee machine is great. There’s also a bar that we did not share in the evening.
Uniquely styled hotel with fun "alpine" touches. Excellent bed, great shower and a very quiet stay in an eccentrically styled room with some really well thought-out touches. Friendly, helpful staff with good English language skills. Lots of places around Munich to eat, so we didn't breakfast at the hotel. Hotel is very close to the main train station, very easy to get to. Very walkable for central shopping district (10min) and museums (15-20min) all well served by public transport. Only (small) downside is the huge amount of construction in central Munich right now. (This is not any fault of the hotel.) Despite this, the hotel was VERY quiet and we would visit and stay there again.
Cutest hotel ever with all of the details of a ski lodge. Would recommend to others staying in Munich. Worked well for the Christmas markets.
Just a note
Everything is fine for this hotel except the room size is small. Be mentally prepared to move is a small room.
Close to the train station close to the main areas close to the Christmas market great area
Loved the ski resort theme of the hotel, as well as the convenience to the Central station.
Great location for people taking trains to other destinations (e.g., day trips to Nuremberg or Salzburg). 15 minute walk to Glockenspiel (Marienplaz). Breakfast was included and it was a great way to start the day. There was construction across the street but it was not noisy. Would stay here again.
Internet was unstable
Happy and helpful staff! Great breakfast spread with well labeled options for folks with dietary restrictions. Super close to public transport hub.
The cleanliness of the bathroom could be improved, as there was a strong smell of urine.
rooms are relatively very small and not well organized (e.g. the bed is not facing the TV screen). staff very friendly and kind. breakfast buffet is excellent.
greatses
Great Hotel
Great room, great price, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Munich.
perfection location to the train station!
Great place to stay at affordable prices .I believe they should provide breakfast free of charge than charging 18 euros. The place is very close to the train station and central Munich . Overall very satisfied with staying here .
Very clean, spacious, creative decor. This is a hotel that values sustainable practices and executes them well.
Friendly staff and very comfortable accommodation close to the station. Excellent breakfasts and bar on the ground floor. We hired bikes from the hotel to see more of the city and had a lovely autumnal ride along the river.
It was just barely okay for one night. The buffet breakfast was very good. The mattress was too, However the bed was against the wall, so climbing in on the wall side was difficult. The worst thing was we had to drag our luggage down and up 10 steps to and from the room, and when we left, downstairs from floor 5 (that would be floor 6 in the United States) as the one and only elevator was out of service and no help came or in sight!!!
Everything seemed fine to us, there is nothing to comment on. I would only ask that when the client does not have time to make comments, I just mark the stars so that the message can be received. I have stopped posting my comments due to lack of time, I would like to just mark the stars and nothing else.
Walkable from the train station and to the Marienplatz. Cute Alps theme throughout the hotel. The only small issue was once we got on the 5th floor off the elevator, we had to walk down several steps with our luggage to get to our room. I would come back.
All members of the staff were very courteous and responsive to our requests. The area around the hotel is not very appealing but very convenient to the train station. The main disappointment was temperature control of the room. Evidently the hotel switched all rooms over to heat only requiring us to open the windows in order to cool the room. Meaning we heard every dog bark, car horn and siren.
The TV didn’t work. Unable to connect my phone to the tv. A little frustrating. The staff was a bit rude as well. Would be nice if there was a coffee maker or kettle on the room
Property was very nice...neighborhood wasn't
What a cute hotel. Close to train station
Amazing Alpine Themed Hotel
Incredible hotel to stay during Oktoberfest! We had 19 family members throughout the hotel and had no issue with gathering in the evening in one of the beautifully decorated common areas. Absolutely will recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in Munich as it is so close to a huge public transport hub as well!
Very easy access to Oktoberfest
The staff was not knowledgeable. I paid for B&B but ended up getting charged for the first day then no one could really give me a refund or know how to and kept getting bounced around from night shift staff to day shift.
Excellent room. clean and close to train station. friendly staff!
We loved the breakfast which was included.
We stayed at this property in Munich two separate times during our visit to Germany. It is very close to the main train station which was perfect for us. It is off the busy street and has a restful patio seating area which we used most nights.
Ok hotel , clean . Overpriced .
Best breakfast ever :)
Good hotel close to central train station and walkable to old town. Spacious room with good breakfast. Would stay again.
The rooms are clean and very quaint with a farm theme. Customer service is excellent and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, they speak English well. Breakfast hours are extended and the food fresh. The offerings changed daily and were quite appetizing.
The hotel is just a block away from the main rail station, making it very convenient. The alpine theme is carried throughout from the decor in the lobby to the elevator that mimics a ski lift to the individual rooms with milk bucket trash cans, snow rake clothes hangers, etc. They have an obvious commitment to the environment from their choices of soap to toilet paper to the frequency of room refreshing (by request only). An optional app makes requesting specific services (more soap or towels, etc.) very easy. The breakfast is a bit spendy if you have to purchase it, but if the breakfast tokens are included in your stay, you'll find it to be a substantial buffet spread including eggs and sides, traditional German meats and cheeses, breads, cereals, yogurt and muesli, and a coffee machine with many options. The staff were very friendly and professional. The biergarten onsite made it a nice place to hang out at the end of the day and trade stories. The rooms are compact but clean and modern with both a rainfall shower and hand wand. Would recommend checking that the shower gel is not empty *before* getting in for the first time, wetting down, and discovering that it isn't. My only critique would be that the hotel had switched rooms over to heating only when the temps were still in the low 70s and the ability to set the HVAC to cool would have been preferred, as opening the windows on the streetside can be a little on the noisy side. Overall, a great place to stay.
Good
Very fun hotel in Munich! They were very thoughtful when designing it. I loved the ski theme and that the elevator played a video that looked like you were at a ski slope going up and down. The rooms are very small, but they have everything you need. Breakfast was awesome and we loved the ability to fill our water bottles easily in the lobby.
We stayed here for my birthday in a suite and requested the cable car room. Staff responded quickly to my queries. I was able to leave my bag after arriving in Munich at 11am although check in was not till 3pm. Little bar in hotel and breakfast was very good. Room was lovely with comfy bed and lovely theming. The only let down was checkout where the staff didn't ask if our stay was ok and seemed a little stand offish although we'd been polite and tried our best to speak in German with them.
Disappointing experience caused by misleading information online. The theme seemed cute online but in person the hotel and staff were awful. The ambiance is dreary and not well-kept, our TV did not work, we tried to watch something and it kept trying to open Netflix automatically and interrupting us; the electric blinds would close and NOT open again; the rooms were advertised as much bigger online and my husband and I could barely walk around our room. The worst part was the staff. They were rude, and the woman working the front desk at night gave us dirty looks as we left for dinner; she was outside smoking when we arrived back from dinner and I tripped a little getting out of the cab. She LAUGHED at me , literally saying “Haha!” And giving me more dirty looks. So childish and rude. All of this led to us booking at La Meridian for our second night and not staying there despite having already paid for another night. Seems like the staff where we re-booked had heard bad things from other guests about that place. If you care about your money and the service you get for it, personally I’d stay away and pay a bit more for a far better experience literally anywhere else.
Great location
Location is great as its right around the corner from the Munich train station and S/U bahn hub. Place was very clean and allowed me to check in early without issue.
Very unique hotel
Great place for a short visit.
The room was very small for more than one person. There were two of us, so very cramped for what we had use on this trip. We selected it because it was so convenient to the Hbf. Very clean and a bar down stairs.
Cocoon hotel was truly a unique stay! The breakfast was delicious and the rooms were spacious, new and clean. The location is very convenient for the central station, and there were many restaurants and shopping in the area. Would definitely stay here if we are back in Munch!
Hotel room had facilities as described. Cleanliness could be improved. Area near hotel felt intimidating particularly at night, but very convenient for main station and easy walk to centre of Munich. Staff were helpful and breakfast great.
Hotel was ok, area was very busy though, near the train station. Construction across the street.
The Coccoon Hotel is well situated close to the Hautbahn and is situated in a quiet street. Walking distance to good restaurants and shopping. The breakfast is excellent. Definitely to be recommended.
cosy small room was perfect. Comfortable bed and clean room. Highly recommend. Very near to the train station!
A nice hotel with friendly employees lying very near to the station. The styling of the hotel was excellent,
Very close to train station which was super handy for arrival and departure from Munich. Surrounding area did not seem the best and had a lot of construction going on. Hotel was very quiet and cozy though. Breakfast was excellent and staff was helpful.
Thebbreakfast was great! Rooms were small. Staff wa great!
Well located next to the central train station so easy to get to and get around (about 50 min to Munich Airport on commuter train). Nice beds, clean rooms and AC!! Good breakfast and friendly staff. Recommend this place.
Really enjoyed the vibe and staff was great
Great location. Comfort lacking.
Very cute trendy hotel in convenient location. The room was not as great as expected. We had a loft family room. The loft was extremely hot. They did give us a standing fan to help. Pillows not comfortable. Pull out couch for kids not comfortable. Not many outlets.
Passive aggressive staff
Location is good and the standard is fine. But the staff has a very sharp tone. Two exampels: 1. We were not informed that we needed to ask for cleaning of the room. When we called ta ask about this we got a very patronizing way stating that we should have known that they don't clean the room because they have a eco friendly hotel. We question the eco friendlyness of saving cost on cleaning with friendly reply we wouldn't mind. 2. At breakfast we asked if we could have breakfast. We didn't pay in advance for the service.but dediced we wanted breakfast. Once again we were told in an unfriendly way we hadn't paid for it in advance, which we knew about. We just wanted breakfast and of course we were expecting to pay for it.
Wonderful stay
The property had a great atmosphere and made you feel like you were at a ski lodge. It was close to the main train station which made our travels around Munich very convenient.
Hotel location is central. Close to most of the city sites.
A fantastic stay. From the friendly, helpful staff to the weird (in a good way) lifts, the excellent room and they even made the balcony fun. Thoroughly recommended.
The hotel is very handy for the train station. Really nicely decorated in an Alpine theme. The lift is great with a video like you are riding in a cable car. Staff were great and communication excellent. We left our passports in the safe when had left. A few emails later and they had been collected for us and kept in a safe place till we returned. Nice bar and outdoor beergarden
Awesome hotel. Next to red light district. Lots of construction and chaos all around. But the hotel feels like a safe heaven. Munich has declined a lot in recent years.
Great place, really cute setup. Staff was nice and helpful. Close to the train. Worked nicely.
Lovely service, very cosy room - all you need, really. Fantastic breakfast buffet - highly recommended. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly. No complaints.
Spent 3 nights at the hotel with friends. Hotel was an easy walk from central train station and about 15-20 minutes to old town. Lots of restaurants in area. The buffet breakfast had lots of options. Rooms were clean. Located on a quiet side street. Garden in back of hotel was a nice spot to have a drink after a busy day of touring.
I loved the theme of this property! I ended up staying at a Cocoon property in Salzburg because I had a great stay here. Breakfast was wonderful, and the outside garden was a nice respite from the busy city. I had the room type that had an upstairs loft. I wish it would have had a small table to sit at but I ended up just going downstairs when I needed the workspace. Coffee in the room would have been nice as well since I was awake before the breakfast service started. My only slight gripe is that the only air con vent in this room type was underneath the stairs so it was difficult to keep the upstairs cool. I was there in summer so it was difficult to sleep comfortably. I would recommend the smaller rooms in summer so that the cooling can be controlled better. Any other time of year, that room is wonderful.
Yes, you must book the Cocoon Hotel!!
Great hotel with a great atmosphere!! Loved the Swiss alps themed concept!! Staff were friendly, especially Kevin the supervisor. He was extremely helpful and accommodating. Close to the train station and easy to navigate Munich. We love the cocoon Hotel!! Will go back again!!
N
Small rooms but nice hotel
For me the rooms sizebis very small and it felt slightly claustrophobic which considering other parts of the hotel are great was surprising, good breakfast the room cost are not cheap my view is good for one night but longer stays
5 Star Experience
We were here for a few days enjoying Munich! The hotel was perfect for our family of four. The location was convenient to us catching the train system to get around town. The supervisor Kevin went above and beyond to make our stay amazing! He was wonderful with directing us to local spots and well as arranging car service for us to the airport. Kevin made our stay a 10!!
The motif of this hotel is so creative and eclectic. We really enjoyed the rooms. Our beds were so comfortable and the duvets were heavenly. The staff were very helpful as well.
Just a quirky laid back hotel. Really pleased with all aspects. Would stay again travelling alone but maybe not as a couple being that bit older. Brilliant for younger couples though.
The hotel itself is very clean! However the area around it is not the greatest. Dirty and rundown
Hotel was clean, comfortable and conveniently located. Munich is a fantastic city.
Unique decor
Hotel was clean, updated, and excellent service
A quirky hotel near Munich main railway station - Alpine themed throughout! A decent choice in what is a busy area although it is located down a quiet side street. Staff were upbeat & customer focused. Easy access to city’s excellent transit system.
Really liked our room. A little small but clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was expensive for what you got, wouldn't get it again. Staff were super unfriendly. Like we were definitely annoying them by being in their presence. Maybe the hotel should try self check in? Just a thought to avoid having to deal with customers.
Decent stay with partner. Abit small but it’s cost !
The decoration was unique
Loved the ski chalet look and quirky design especially the lift
Quirky and fun!
The room is small but well designed. I loved the commitment to the theme! Also, the breakfast was amazing and well worth the money. Next time I'm in Munich, I'm absolutely staying here again! The only drawback would be if there is more than one person staying for multiple days, it might be too cramped in that scenario.
Perfection! This hotel is fantastic in every aspect. The only criticism I have is that they charge an additional fee if you arrive a little bit early and a room is available. (The official check-in time is 3pm. We arrived at 12:30pm.) This seems to be a relatively new trend - a way to make more money from guests. If a room is ready, it should be made available without any extra charges. Also, it is best not to justify it with "all hotels do this", especially since it is not true.
Beautiful property well kept clean and friendly staff.
The hotel is cozy and a little whimsical, with a ski chalet ambiance. Room was small but enough for one person.
Nice hotel, we were here for 5 nights, they have us a nice room on the top floor. Quiet, and comfortable and easy access to the elevator right by. We did find some small bugs throughout the stay crawling on the wall and by the windows. We weren’t sure if something got in or just came through the window cracks even though they were shut. But other than that the room was good. The staff was friendly and helpful.
great location, great price. will stay again
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was great for walking to shopping and dining areas.
Clean and convenient hotel with well equipped room. I recommend this hotel for an overnight stay since rooms are small.
Poor Stay
Very small room. Poor lighting as of you are staying in a real cabin in the middle of the forest. Room has no drinking cups and no fridge. Had to collect cups from the front desk. No fridge means we could not buy milk or fruit juice to keep. Asked for a kettle because its winter and need to make hot drinks and was given one that looked like un-descaled in the last 10 years. Totally unusable. Shame on the hotel for keeping it as a relic. Staff (except for 1) looked uninterested all the time and slightly grouchy. Bathroom door is faulty causing water to seep out from the shower area into the dry area. Hot food served at breakfast were all salty especially the eggs. The hotel does provide free bottled water. You just pick it up from the counter. But this minor service does not make up for all the missing amenities and services usually offered by a standard hotel.
Nice clean hotel near train station
The staff was very helpful and the lobby/open area provided a nice place to have a take away meal and the outdoor area was a great escape within the city
Cute and convenient
Exactly as advertised. Very cute property with a nice patio, good breakfast, easy walk from central train station. Rooms are small, no place to unpack except two small shelves and 2 hangers. Good for a short stay.
Friendly staff, clean modern facility.
