The room was comfy and clean. The continental breakfast was adequate. The front desk was open 24/7. My wife and I stayed at Club Raro for 2 nights. We had a late night arrival at Rarorotonga and we had an early morning flight Aitutaki 2 days later. There were no walkable dining options other than the hotel restaurant. We had an ocean view room. There is no sandy beach at this hotel. If you plan to stay longer than 2 days, we recommend that you get your own transportation. There are buses but they don't run very often especially on Sundays and holidays. The hotel was a good place to stay for 2 nights.

Staff always deliver exceptional service every time I stay.
Room is dated, bathroom needs updating. Staff lovely, drinks delicious, pool area very nice
Third time staying at Club Raro lovely setting great friendly staff, nice atmosphere gd buffet breakfast, and the rooms cleaned daily. Will be back again enjoy staying there.
Absoutly wonderful stay!!! Loved how they provided pool towels and you could change them daily!!! The breakfast provided in the morning was also a highlight of the trip!!! The pool was lovely to swim in! All the staff were friendly and accomadating! The cleaners did a fantastic job
Many hidden costs applied on checkin. Many functions and guests excluded from certain are
Everything was ok
Club Raro was the perfect place for my first stay away on my own.. The staff were amazing! I felt part of the family by the time I left... leaving was bitter sweet xo I will be back!! Thank you Papa Tom, Tan, Sicilia, Elenoa my daughter... and all the lovely sand bar guys... reception staff... and everyone else who made my stay amazing!! Miss you already xoxo
Clean and tidy, staff friendly
Great this property was adults only. Awesome staff and service. Meals were awesome too. Even better still will be to have free wifi, this was the only let down.
They need free WIFI. I would not stay there again without WIFI. Lovely staff and very hardworking and pleasant.
I loved how friendly all the staff was, and was not far from town or nearby stores. Our stay was peaceful with our room spectacular.
We had an amazing stay here and will be returning next time we holiday in Rarotonga. The only thing we did not enjoy was the meals breakfast was amazing but we ordered twice from the main restaurant and both times was very disappointing. We just ate at different places.
Breakfast is continental. Hot breakfast available for a few. Daily house keeping. Rooms varied depending on room number. For example a group of us stayed and booked poolside rooms. However, one couple got a renovated room with a spacious bathroom and large shower that had amazing pressure and another couple had a tiny shower, small bathroom. They were all the same price. Bar is cool, you can swim up to it in the pool.
We just stayed at Club Raro. We had a beach front room and it was magnificent! Beautiful views right from the front door watching the water and the whales jumping every day. Staff here are absolutely beautiful souls and nothing is ever a problem, they are always happy and helpful. Great fire dancing show on Friday night, and each night is something different within the restaurant and resort. Pool and swim up bar is just beautiful, we sat around the pool in the pool lounges with our bucket of beer and relaxed the day away. you can walk straight down the stairs and you’re in the water. Complementary snorkelling gear and reef shoes ready to go. We had an excellent time here and we have already started planning for our next trip back here next year! Very happy with our choice to stay here.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Club Raro. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bed and pillows very comfortable. Daily servicing of our room was completed with efficiency and we really enjoyed the tropical breakfast and the opportunity to supplement that from the breakfast menu when we needed to. The swim up bar at the pool was really enjoyable and while the pool area itself doesn't offer a lot of shade, we most often used loungers in the shade on the whale watching deck under one of the table/umbrella set ups. And we saw whales almost every single day, what a treat!
Overall. Affordable. Friendly. Comfortable. Great staff. Especially “sue” We will be back
Very friendly and helpful staff.Excellent meals.Particularly good as adults only.Great fire dance show.
The only thing that let this property down was the lack of staffing the kitchen for dinner.
Excellent ocean views with whale sightings every day of our Oct/Nov stay. Poolside bar and sun loungers were just perfect! We felt the resort could lift its game a little bit easily to push into a 4star facility. Staff were excellent and food good.
Excellent stay here staff are very helpful and friendly Breakfast included is lovely all meals we had were fantastic saw Whale playing just beyond the Reef from our Ocean View room Swim up Bar in pool at Sand Bar which served great cocktails highly recommend staying here
Friendly staff,excellent food,comfortable bed.
We liked their facilities, our room, the layout of the communal spaces, gardens and the tidiness of the outside areas, they were well set out and well kept grounds. We liked that the complimentary Breakfast was included in our deal, and we enjoyed the selection of food that was provided. Some staff were excellent in their manner and service, while some were not at all. Unfortunately two out of the three nights we dined in the restaurant we found it took a long time to receive our meals, and it was the same for other diners as well. Overall we enjoyed our time there and would stay there again.
High lights see the whales from this accommodation lovely friendly stuff
Location is convenient and the view is great especially if you want to see the whales. We stayed there last year, but found the rooms a bit run down this time. We were put up in a poolside room for our first night, as the oceanview room we booked had a maintenance issue. This was rectified by a resort credit and they let us stay late on our last day at no extra charge.
Friendly staff all happy we will be back.
Most of the staff friendly
All of the staff at Club Raro are so lovely! Great location, will only stay here every time we visit Raro now.
Perfectly positioned adults only resort. Friendly attentive staff make you feel at ease
great for a group of friends
Great place to see Humpback Whales
We had a great stay at club Raro. The location is right on the coast with fantastic whale watching spots. Loved the pool and the grounds and the breakfast. Stayed in a full kitchen room which is one of the few not to have been renovated and no balcony. Other rooms looked fantastic. Great place would stay again
For a 3star hotel the outdoor gardens were kept immaculate. The fact that you can see whales if you’re a patient and looking out to sea is fantabulous!!! However the toilet in our room was subpar, and the shower had mould, don’t get room 203! However, we stayed in another room 53 where you can cook your own meals and that was nice and up to standard. The staff were somewhat friendly and very attentive to your needs. The pool is very refreshingly cool.
Great experience with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms could do with a bit of an upgrade.
service and facilities are excellent!
Wonderful intimate resort, beautiful staff, great aircon, amazing setting over looking ocean. Fantastic experience. Kia Orana
Good group stay. We had ocean view. Dont book poolside if you want peace and quiet. Saw lots of whales. Cocktails and drinks very reasonable prices. Stayed 7 nites. We had a rental car so no worry with transport. Still needs renovations done in some areas.
Average
Was a nice resort with entertainment most nights!
Great location
Great place to stay watching whales off the deck area all day. Great value lovely friendly staff. Pool was very cold though and shower very small.
Facilities are tired and not confident that there wont be mistakes made with requests
Excellent
Wonderful stay. We stayed here for 6 nights total. Arrived at 3am on the first night and were checked into our room asap. Rooms were clean and spacious. The pool area was fantastic and there were lots of places to sit down and sunbathe or have a few drinks. Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive.
The service and the atmosphere is amazing,
The property is conveniently situated within a walkable distance of Avarua. We couldn’t get a continuous booking in one room for the week as we booked at short notice. Initially we were supposed to win an ocean view room but were lead to a garden room facing the main road. Queried why and told the other rooms had been double booked! Heard of a few others that this happened to. We did get a credit etc. so the week was pretty good. Staff are generally very friendly and restaurant food at a good standard.
I had a lovely stay with club raro, staff attentive and friendly, good food. Pool area is lovely, great view and a swim up bar. The rooms are basic and a little tired, but clean and tidy.
Great place
Really enjoyed our stay
Awesome would do again nothing to complain bout
Club Raro is a great place to stay! Close to town, excellent restaurant, beautiful view and pretty gardens. Staff very friendly. We didn’t get in the pool as we thought it could have been cleaner. Recommend this place.
Good
Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was well priced and good quality. Very relaxing to stay easy to get around the island from there.
The staff and food was amazing.
Nice quiet place to relax. A pleasant enough place to stay. Staff were helpful and thoughtful. Unfortunately their booking system is unreliable. The room we had booked, an ocean view room, was not available for us! We were not told this when we checked in, but were lead to another room out the back facing the main road. It was not until we got there and re-checked our booking that we noticed. I immediately went to reception to ask for an explanation as the price difference was around $100/night. We were told that there were no booked rooms were available. I did get some compensation, however we also spoke to and heard that at least 5 other couples had the same experience of being taken to another room and not the reserved ‘ocean view’ room.
The staff were friendly and accomadating but the resort was tired and old.
Enjoyed the staff and the great food at the restaurant. It would be nice to have a little gift shop for small purchases and some guest activities. We had a nice vacation at Club Raro!
Hard to beat the staff hospitality and the food at the restaurant was great. Would be nice if they had a a little gift shop on property. Great place to kick back and enjoy some quiet time
Had a nice stay at club raro
Small quiet resort which is adults only and is very affordable. Staff were fantastic. Close to town. Recommend for couple.
Great place to go with a group.
Staff was very friendly. Food was amazing. Never had a bad meal there. The rooms maybe just needed to be updated, but very clean.
The resort was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and the food was good. The swim up bar pool was great but the service was very slow
.
Lovely spot. Not a sandy beach but still amazing view.Great to not have kids
They were really good to us
Great food cocktails nice staff room whales passing by will be back for sure.
Very good location and setting. Staff friendly and helpful. Local bus picks up and drops off at front of resort. WIFI not free which is disappointing as it's an essential service. Only 1 TV channel in room so cable option would be handy as well. Swimming pool temperature was very cold even on warm days so not very useful.
I didn’t like having to pay for wifi as the other places I stayed at all offered free wifi but everything else was great! Such a beautiful hotel.
Good value for money. Easy access and friendly staff
Has a lovely feel to it. Everyone so helpful. Lovely gardens and the place is set Up really well. Could do with a bit of a refresh in our room but very clean and lovely housekeepers
Staff were great
Pros and Cons
Resort is fine and has all the facilities that you need. Staff are mostly very friendly and helpful. Restaurant food is good and reasonably priced. Rooms: Our room (Apartment) was spacious and well equipped. Shower was good. Housekeeping was good. On the down side, there is virtually no soundproofing between rooms and even normal conversations (or snoring) can be heard from neighbouring rooms so no chance of sleeping until they all go to bed. Location: We found that there was always a strong onshore wind on this side of the island (July) compared to the side, and a stoney beach (not sand) which was not as ideal for beach lounging or snorkeling. All in all it was still a nice stay and if you consider the pros and cons and what is important to you, then this is still ok value for money.
we stayed in the self contained garden room, situated at the back of the pool villas, good spot was much quieter than around pool area. room was ok could do with a bit of a update. Funny vibe at this hotel, staff didn't seem very happy and only did the minimum of what is needed. Was a cheaper place to stay on Raro and fine if you wanted to spend most of your time elsewhere around the island. Its beach isn't very good and quite windy. Food very average at best We were overcharged on our card, which we questioned the following week when we returned from Aituutaki, management said it was an error and would refund amount.. 2 mths later haven't seen it.
Lovely place to stay, but could still do with completing the renovations It didn't bother us too much as we where in paradise Our daughter stayed in the ocean front rooms and they need to be deep cleaned because of mould, wash or replace the curtains
Over-all a wonderful experience with super friendly staff and guests. Everyone of all age groups mixed and mingled, generally a fantastic holiday
Friendly helpful staff. Gorgeous setting, very tidy and grounds immaculate.
Easy and hassle free
Staff were friendly and attentive
The staff is very friendly. The rooms need a huge refurbishment, they are CLEAN and COMFORTABLE, but they just don;t look well. The pool is like you are taking the ice bucket challenge! It is extremely COLD!! The tropical breakfast is packed with CAN FRUIT!! in a tropical island! The almonds are great. The breakfast for the price of a room is very poor.
Great for the price. Staff are very friendly, especially Mere in housekeeping who took extra great care of us.
Great place to stay. Easy walk to town. Staff very helpful.
Great location, clean room and really great customer service!
Excellent stay. Staff were very friendly and always helpful. The resort puts in free shows, free activities. I thought the amenities were perfect for what we wanted.
Good but average
5 stars all round! The staff are very helpful and go the extra mile to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Awesome atmosphere. The bar and pool was my favourite place to be. Only downside was our aircon kept leaking however that could’ve been due to the humidity but it still didn’t put a damper on things. Thank you to all the staff. Definitely be back.
Nothing wouldn't bother again
Awesome friendly people
Had an awesome time in Rarotonga. Club Raro is a smaller adults only resort. Great friendly staff. Not located on a sandy beach, instead a beautiful view of a coral covered beach and out to sea. sea was a bit rough for snorkelling when we stayed so we ended up exploring other beaches around the island. Could snorkel on calmer.days though. 30mins walk to town and also easy to jump on local bus to travel around the island. Would hapily stay again!
Lovely stay but the showers in the poolside rooms need updating
Club Raro is a beautiful small resort, the staff could not be faulted. However if you want to swim and snorkel you need to be on the other side of the island as the water out the front of the resort is treacherous. If you like laying around a beautiful pool this is the resort for you.
The staff here were fantastic and friendly
Staff absolutely amazing
We loved our time at Club Raro. Everything about it was awesome. From the swim up bar, super friendly staff and rooms. Would definitely recommend and we'll be back
The rooms are getting little tired. The staff and restaurant were fantastic.
We really enjoyed our stay at Club Raro. The facilities were great and the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they were always smiling and happy and made us feel like we were one big family. Can’t speak highly enough of them
The staff at Club Raro are awesome loved that its adults only. Meals are amazing great fun having a swim up bar to enjoy
Second time staying at Clubraro. Great place, friendly staff, good food. Clean and tidy rooms
Perfect place to stay
