Great stay!
We were very pleasantly surprised with our room. It included a separate sitting area with a second television. The room was immaculate. The gentleman at the front desk was polite and friendly. We will most definitely stay again.
We have family in Berne and live almost 3 hours away, convenient to enjoy being with family close by.
I really enjoyed my stay. Front desk staff and housekeeping were so nice.
Was A good stay clean an comfy rooms
Old Not very clean Weirdest automated checkout I have ever seen Breakfast not until 8.00am. When asked it was because of COVID !!!! That was years ago Being run on a shoe string. It’s a bed. That is about it.
Only place in town. Needs updating. Clean tho
Kiosk check out was difficult, person on the other end was hard to understand. Bathtub floor was slanted and slippery, no grab bars. Bathrooms need better ventilation, clean towels felt damp. Actually the whole room needed better ventilation, objects in the room also felt slightly damp. 8:30 is too late for breakfast
Was clean, quiet, and friendly.
An independent small hotel. Quiet. Clean. Ou staffed certain hours (starting 8am) so checkout might be via a remote worker on a machine. Breakfast also starts "late" (8am)
No elevator and I was on the second floor
Very quiet and very nice. Love it there.
Nice comfortable beds and good free breakfast , but the room smelled a bit musty.
This was a quaint room which was extremely clean and quiet. Perfect for our overnight trip and price was amazing!
Liked - room was clean
Nice hotel! Will stay here every time I’m in Berne
Nice
Room was clean, everything in the room was in working order. The description said the rooms were handicapped accessible. My bathtub was not. A standard 18 inch wheelchair is a snug fit through the bathroom door.
Breakfast isnt served until 8:30. I'm on the road before breakfast. It might as well not be served. This not a convenience and should not be advertised.
Great place to stay
Staff was very friendly. Although we checked out before 7AM We had to check out via a video, the person we spoke with was difficult to understand, however we managed and got a receipt. Breakfast is served at 8:30. We planned to leave well before that the next day, so the attendant gave us permission to take our breakfast sandwich to our room so we could have it before departing. I would gladly stay here again
Bathroom are a little too old
Came for Eclipse
Stay was comfortable in a clean room, a king suite with kitchenette that was larger than expected. Breakfast was okay, but nothing special. Staff was attentive and very responsive.
Nice place to stay
Very nice people
The Clock Tower Inn staff went above and beyond my expectations. My only complaint was the people staying above us sounded like a freaking heard of elephants half the night.
The room was clean, the parking easy friendly staff
Berne Haven
Clean, roomy and affordable. Comfortable beds and breakfast is included.
The location is fine. The bathroom had mold and the flooring was curling up. The tub was nasty. The breakfast was just cereal. The waffle maker and juice dispenser were "out of order".
Older property, room was clean, but some obvious signs of wear. Hall had a really bad smell the first day. It was slightly better the second day. I needed to have breakfast before it was available at 8:30.
Nice Old Hotel if you can climb stairs
It is a nice old hotel. There is no elevator to the second floor. Everything feels old. Bathroom sink was very low, barely reached top of legs. Metal chairs at the table. Barely found enough outlets for all our devices; phone chargers, watch chargers, CPAP machine, hearing aids charger. Continental breakfast was a joke.
No elevator, when the receptionist noticed I had a disable person with me he did not offer to switch us to a room on the first floor. Only 2 cars in the parking lot. Black mold lining the tub. The coffee pot had coffee in it from the previous occupants. Very very loud!
Checked in at 10pm and it was a kiosk. Very uneasy with no person present.
The room was fine. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was disappointing.
Great Place to stay!
No breakfast for early birds!
The room was clean and in pretty good condition, but the odor in the hall was nasty. We felt that the price was pretty high too, especially when we realized the next morning that the breakfast buffet didn't start until 8:30 am. We needed to hit the road, and others were leaving too, so it ft like they chose that time so they wouldn't have to feed any guests! Will not return...
The staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel was clean. The town had a few unique stores to visit.
Continental breakfast not served until 8:30am.
They need mats in the tub to prevent a fall couse it was slick and the stairs was dirty and i think housekeeping should come around later in the morning instead of 8 or 8:30
Front desk clerk was a little rude. He called a couple of times. I was busy working We didn’t know the front desk closed at 10. We were there before 10. I called him back Told him we were on our way. He called again when we were pulling in. Wasn’t very friendly in our eyes. Hotel was very clean and quiet.
Clean and comfortable
The Clock Tower Inn is always welcoming. The rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. Shower is hot. We enjoy staying every year.
This was a quick overnight trip, but we found the Clock Tower Inn Berne, Indiana to be a great place to stay. We would highly recommend this place!
Comfortable place to stay in a small town.
Staff was super friendly and very helping
the room had a musty smell to it but the gal at front desk gave us Fabreeze and that made it alot better
Our stay was brief, but enjoyable.
Quick getaway
Enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean and the breakfast was good. Will stay here again when we are back in town
The property was fine. What was not fine is that they had no notification of our reservation. There was no reservation for us! There was a room for us, but not what we reserved, and no thanks to Travelocity. And I would like the insurance money refunded to me, since I had no reservation to insure.
Very nice place to stay, but continental breakfast leaves a little bit to be desired. Wish they had pancakes or something like that. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
So thankful they followed up with me regarding our late arrival and picking up key after hours!
They try really hard for a small town, so I understand the lack of amenities. However, I would expect that also to reflect that in the room rate which it does not.
Our experience at the Clocktower Inn would have been satisfactory, if nothing special, if it weren't for one major problem. It doesn't appear as if they have any employees in the building after 10:00pm to take care of problems in guest rooms. When our toilet became clogged we fully expected to have one delivered to the room within a reasonable time after we called their after hours/emergency line. I called that number twice leaving message both times after no one picked up. Finally left a message at the managers number after waiting about 45 minutes. No plunger or response was ever received. Can't imagine what a mess we would have had on our hands had the toilet overflowed. Frankly, never stayed in a hotel, no matter how inexpensive, that would let this happen. It was a strange and disappointing stay because of this.
No staff available during the night for problems. Had loud neighbor until 3am and tried to reach staff after hours number and no one responded. Other family had clogged toilet and couldn’t get any help until morning.
Very friendly, quiet and clean. Looking forward to returning.
Pretty good stay
Everything was great about the hotel until you get to the bathroom. The water pressure was very weak and the water would pool a few inches deep without the plug. Not a huge deal, just annoying.
As the only hotel in town, they certainly did not need to be excellent, yet they were. You can tell that the staff and hotel are very proud of their accommodations. It’s a simple hotel, but impeccably clean and with amazing and helpful staff.
Never a Complaint
Always a pleasant stay.
Very nice privately owned motel would absolutely stay there again.
Clean and good rates
Clean hotel. Friendly and accommodating staff.
The room had only one chair, which was a relatively comfortable wooden straightback. An armchair would have been welcome after a long drive. I was disappointed to see not one staff person wearing a mask.
Staff was helpful. Room was clean.
the stores and other places closed at three we just checked in at 3
Clean, comfortable bed, no breakfast, lobby closed and won’t open until 8:30, no WiFi info around.
Disappointed
The mattress was very uncomfortable. Nonworking lightbulbs.
We enjoyed our stay very much - just wish there would have been breakfast offered.
Very clean but read on......
The hotel and room cleanliness was excellent. The hotel had a hold on breakfast service but instead provided a 10% discount on a local coffee shop. The coffee shop had a very limited and disappointing menu. It is important to note that most of the rooms are on the 2nd floor.....with no elevator and 18 steps to get there. Not a great visit for handicapped or most elderly.
Average
Very friendly staff. Room was clean. Hotel could use updating. Low quality toilet paper and tissue. Reasonably priced.
very clean and great staff
Never Disappointed
We come into town 2-3 times a year to visit family and we have always had a great experience at Clock Tower Inn. Clean, comfortable, quiet and safe all combined with excellent service... exactly what you want when staying away from home.
Very comfortable, clean, and cost effective
Very nice hotel with excellent staff, the area is a little sparse in terms of eating establishments or retail. The other issue that I experienced is that the person in the neighboring room snored all night long and I could hear them.
Nice place but cold shower.
Checkin must be done by 10pm. Desk clerk leaves at 10pm. Overall a nice place to stay except for one major problem: No hot water on shower. I had to shower in cold water.
Very comfortable beds, great maid service and room size. Only drawback was the on-site breakfast was not available due to covid restrictions.
Best place to stay.
Excellent place to stay! Staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable. Location is close to town with easy access. No complaints at all.I wish all hotels were like this one.
BEAUTIFUL PLACE
The staff was very nice. Bed felt like it was very old and not very comfortable. TV channels were very basic. No movie channels. Room had a very odd, mildew smell. Air conditioning was very noisy. No elevator.
It was conveniently located
It was clean and the staff was friendly.
We have stayed here before and the rooms were clean and well done. This time it looks like the attention to detail was not as good. The bathroom was not as clean as it should be and it didnt look like they vacuumed.
Elliptical needs service
Good Family time!!
Great time at Portland Eng. Show Loved the towns clock tower!!
Clean room and staff was courteous
Good Choice
Frequent visitor to this hotel. No complaints!
Loved it an went back and stayed again.
Excellent stay very clean. Friendly staff, reasonably priced.
It was a nice hotel. It was close to our destination of Pine Lake Waterpark. We missed out on the breakfast due to covid but used a coupon down the road at the filling station. It was great as well.
Close location to family, comfortable bed, friendly staff, nice size room.
Ring The Bell
I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't know what to expect. I normally stay at hotel chains. This is an independently owned hotel. The condition is good, but not new. They add extra touches like a DVD player in the room, quilts, throw pillows. It's a little touch of home, when you're away from home. I didn't get to take advantage of the room or area. The one downfall was they don't accept new guests after 10 pm. They lock the lobby and shut it down. Luckily, I checked in a little after 9 pm, so I made it in time. If you stay, be aware of the lobby closing at 10 pm. Breakfast wasn't served because of the Pandemic, they are still waiting on approval from the health dept., the ice machine is on the first floor and there's no elevator. Not a big deal for me, but for a handicap individual, its important to note. Overall, clean, comfortable, quiet, nice stay. No restaurants near by, but fast food is within a mile. Parking is free.
This was nice clean hotel and staff was very friendly. It is a 2 floor hotel with stairs only so if you can do stairs make sure you ask for a first floor room. No continental breakfast do to COVID restrictions at this time June 27, 2021
Surprisingly nice!
Only hotel in Berne. VERY clean, beds pretty comfy. Have all the usual stuff plus dvd player so bring your favorites. Staff goes out of their way to be helpful. Carey, front desk, really sweet. Mindy-Mgr, called next day to alert us we had left some shorts in the room. Would recommend staying here if you are going through N. Indiana. Pine Lake Water Park near by.
Clean friendly place
Wish there was an easier way to get to the second floor.
Very nice hotel
Stay was very nice.
The historic paraphernalia on the property. Amish owned. very clean, with a warm comfortable feeling. I recommend it to anyone. Thank you Clock Tower Inn
Enjoyed all of the Amish furniture and photos/paintings
Overnight stay
Was a nice hotel but expected a bit more from reviews I saw. We had a small problem at checkin with payment but it was minor. The room was clean and comfortable and was one of the quietest stsys I have had at a hotel. Rooms were a little plain and could use some redecorating but overall it was fine and did the job.
We always have a nice stay. It’s very quite too
I didn’t realize until I checked in that they don’t have an elevator. I would think the lady checking me in would have out put me on the first floor since I am older and traveling alone with my big suitcase. I highly doubt they were full. I won’t stay again.
Highly recommended
One of my better hotel experiences. Extermely clean, quiet, and comfortable. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
Wonderful experience, beautiful furnishings, clean, smiling faces, loved it there.
Booked it because of advertised breakfast. Upon check in, was told no breakfast being served due to COVID-19. I asked what I was to do for breakfast and the counter person said there was always McDonalds. Should have at least discounted the rate or given a voucher for McDonalds. No mention of of no breakfast on web site.
Really nice
Beautiful hotel and the lady at the desk was friendly and helpful. Only complaint I have is there service desk closes at 10pm and you can’t do late check in. We had to drive 30 mins from Portland to check in then go back to Portland for our show instead of checking in when we were done at night but overall very nice place
