Great thumbs up for the following staff: 79 floor breakfast staff manager and kitchen - they were super accommodating and even arranged for off the menu Beijing style jianbing just for me everyday. Such a delight. Cleaning lady (first week) She was great, attention to detail and even went for extra mile to adjust my bed. Cleaning lady (2nd week) Not a criticism but more attention to detail is needed.
The room they gave me smelled really strongly of ammonia, and it took them 3 days to change me to a new room. Now the new room smelled of rain and soggy. The ceiling was kind of falling apart, the light switches crooked. It was also quite unbelievable how I had to remind them and call them multiple times for them to change the bedding, or else it wouldn’t be changed at all. The housekeeping overall does quite a bad job. Not to mention the useless concierge. Cannot this, don’t know that. Needed the manager to get anything remotely done.
Amazing property with the best view in Beijing and proper 5 star experience which has become a rarity even among properties that are rated 5 star. Check out the pillow menu, I recommend the lavender. The cristal steam room on the 67th floor is worth mentioning as well.
City break treat
Wonderful room on the 73rd floor. Couldn’t ask for more in all aspects. A brilliant stay! The only let down was the weather which meant the views weren’t as spectacular as the could be. However, this gives me a great excuse to go back!
Perfect stay
It’s the perfect stay in Summit Wing. Consistent perfect service provided by Shangri-la Hotel.
place but name can be confusing
Excellent stay. Love the 79th floor pool and the gym. View over Beijing is needless to say spectacular. Only point is that many taxi drivers are confused as there are 4 different hotels with the same name around China World, plus another Shangri-La across town which you might mix up. (Yes I did thank you, and yes Beijing is big I know). Bring a print out in Chinese with the exact address before you leave, and get one of those visit cards from the hotel when you are out and about to show any driver. Otherwise a top place
The highest hotel in Beijing, that’s all. The breakfast is muslimbecause of Malaysia guests, it’s terrible.
Love the Stay!
This Shangri-La property at CBD of Beijing was really nice, with plenty of shopping malls nearby! Our check-in staff was very friendly and warm. We love that the mattress was firm and we can choose buckwheat pillows, and other types. The breakfast was OK and was a good combo of western and Chinese style. The bar at floor 80 was pretty cool and on a good day, you would have a wonderful view of the capital city! Will go back again!
A modern and well kept property located in the best business area of Beijing. Convenient close to shops and all other amenities. Hotel rooms and facilities are well maintained and kept very clean. However, lift access to room and restaurants is via two sets of lifts, it’s cumbersome and confusing.
Convenient location for business. Excellent service.
Beautiful hotel with amazing views of the city. Fantastic workout facility/locker room/spa
Amazing Views
We took advantage of the short term visa that China allows and only stayed at Shangri-la China World Summit for just one night. We wanted a hotel that would be extra comfortable after a long flight. We could not have been more pleased with our choice. Check in was smooth and efficient and soon we were in our spacious room. The view of the city was fantastic. The beds were good size and very comfortable . The bathroom was very large and well appointed. And, the water pressure in the shower was perfect to get the kinks out after a long flight . There is also a lot of storage in the room . Our only (minor) complaints about the room were figuring out which light switches controlled which lights and the lack of (enough) outlets in the bedroom. The pool and gym looked wonderfully relaxing. And, like the rooms, provided a great view of the city. The bar, Atmosphere, on the top floor is supposed to be the highest in the city. The views are fantastic , the band was so-so , and, as to be expected, the drinks are overpriced. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have seen. There was a bit of continental choices and some Asian delights as well. The smoked duck and salmon were especially good. Our trip was off to a great start with our stay at Shangri-La China World Summit Wing, Beijing.
Excellent
Nice and clean hotel right in downtown. Service is good. Staff is polite. Will definitely come back.
I liked the location, room on 68th floor, view from the room. I didn’t like the small size of the lounge and having to take two elevators to get to my room.
Beautiful, comfortable and clean room and great service. Great Chinese food. good wine selections. some improvements - dirty windows, lobbies ( do not have a 5 star hotel look ) foods ( non Chinese ), men’s uniforms, And I did not like to view nuclear power plant from our room # 7506.
I stayed one night in Beijing and staff specifically Summer and Dirk were super friendly and professional! Amazing thing was they were so accommodating when I had to check out late because of my trip to the Great Wall. I definitely go back there!
Excellent as usual
I’ve always enjoyed staying at the Shangri-la World Summit, and this time it doesn’t disappoint either. I was there in mid-July for business. My butler was super thoughtful and left me a mouse pad as he noticed I was working from the room, and extra hair conditioner for my hair. The girls at the spa and the lady lifeguard at the pool was also really friendly and helpful. Thank you for another excellent stay!
Excellent hotel
We had an excellent time during our stay at the World Trade Summit Wing. Hotel staff are professional, courteous and well trained. Hotel facilities are well maintained, and the room is lovely arranged with elegance and convenience. Will stay at this hotel during our next trip to Beijing.
Convenient!
Helpful staff at the reception and lobbies! Keep up the good work! The room has great view of the CCTV building athe the city-scape.
Hard to fault
Awesome views Great location Lovely room Efficient service Generous residents lounge snacks The place to stay when visiting Beijing
Great value when compared to similar standards in Japan or Hong Kong.
Top notch
It had nice view, clean and for a couple it was the best.
Very modert
Elegant in the financial district close to shopping centers and restaurants. Happy hour was a bonus
Very solid 5 star Beijing Hotel
Fantastic Place in Beijing
During recent travels to Beijing, I stayed at the Shangri-La. Terrific location, amenities, etc. The room was well appointed and very clean. The entry to a high-floor check in and then need to switch elevator banks for rooms was odd, but I chalk that up to first world problems. Breakfast buffet was exceptional. Room service was just fine. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. While I hope not to ever go back to China, staying at this hotel would make a future trip bearable!
very nice hotel and great location
very nice hotel and great location
Everything great - breakfast wonderful - only bad thing was that they did not have a record of the hotels.com reservation
Need Improve breakfast service
Excellent staff, incredible skyline
Perfect hotel for a luxury and elegant stay! Best skyline view in Beijing.
Great Hotel, Very Central!
The concierge of this hotel made our honeymoon one to remember! They truly went above and beyond in every detail!
Great place to stay in Beijing
Spacious room, gorgeous view. Very nice staff in general. Being the tallest building in Beijing at the moment, you can enjoy your daily breakfast on 79/F with a very nice view of the whole city. If you look to the west, you can even peek the forbidden city.
We had a great Chinese New Year experience at this wonderful hotel. The staff were polite and attentive and particularly kind to our 2 young sons. The maid (sorry that I didn't catch her name, she worked on 74th floor during our stay) was so lovely to our 2 boys, made such a fuss of them and even put their teddies in bed cuddling when she came to make our room up which the children loved and we really appreciated. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the bed comfy, the bathroom huge. Lots on offer at breakfast, something for every taste and the food at the happy hour was delicious. The view from our room was incredible looking out to Tianamen and the Forbidden City. Sitting and watching the fireworks over the city from our room will be one of my favorite memories of Beijing(we live here and came for a 'staycation'). Would highly recommend this hotel at any time but Chinese New Year here was particularly special, we were even treated to a lion dance at breakfast!
Dust Bowl
Hotel room was appallingly dusty, even for Beijing. Every fabric surface-draperies,couches,carpets, etc--was covered in dust. Cleaning was impossible and we were told all the rooms were the same!?. We had prepaid the room, but we left with two nights remaining. We've stayed at the sister hotel China World many times and never had a problem and its only 500 meters away.
Good view of the smog.
Overall very good experience. YunKu cocktail bar is expensive for average cocktails. Avoid restaurants, super expensive for ok-ish food.
Great staff, great bed, nice spa (except all the screaming kids) and nice view (unless on smoggy days). Overall a nice stay! The only real downside of this Shangri-La was that I got food-poisoned by the hamburger from room-service. So, if you stay...avoid to eat at the hotel.
Efficient hotel. Great pool.
Completely hassle free stay, which is all I really want when travelling for business. Great pool. Nice breakfast. Good views - smog permitting.
good experience
stay at this hotel for business since i have meetings arranged in Guomao. I depart early next morning so no chance to try the breakfast. Nice stay but some of the facilities are quite old
Excellent hotel with great views and great service
Overnight stay to celebrate an anniversary
Very Great stay
Good but not fantastic
They haven't cleaned the room ones. The restaurant didn't have great service but the view is amazing
Amazing views of the city, Helpful Staff.
Great hotel! Wonderful staff!
Clean and modern with amazing views. Super comfortable bed and very spacious for the money.
Amazing views that tower over Beijing.
Breathtaking views of the city that can be seen no where else. If you are lucky to get clear weather, you can see forever. Beautifully styled and spacious. The staff were fantastic our whole trip and there was plenty of shopping near by. Very central in the CBD, made all sights a short taxi or train ride away.
Wonderful Beijing Treat
Wonderful stay at a lovely hotel. On a clear Beijing day go to the Atmosphere bar on the 80th floor for a fabulous hand crafted cocktail. We enjoyed everything about this wonderful hotel and recommend it highly.
Perhaps I being too harsh
I am used to Shangri-La hotels giving the absolute best service. The staff tried very hard to please, but, the standard of service was below my Shangri-La expectations. I have stayed in Shangri-La hotels all over the world. Perhaps I am being too strict in my judgement. They just need to train there staff better on the subtle differences of outstanding service. The effort was there.
Awesome
Definitely one of the best in Beijing
giant scam and great views
Take care when booking this hotel. Expedia and other sites will tell you that the room fits two adults and two children but when you get there they hit you up for a second room so it doubles your cost. We argued the point and they eventually put two children's beds in the room but then charged us more than the cost of a second room! They also rubbed it in by leaving only two towels out per day. Staff were very unhelpful and not interested in the information provided on the Expedia receipt. By the way the view is spectacular.
Nice
Beautiful
i dont think i'll stay there again.
I'v stayed the Shangri-La TOKYO, and i live there. But the Shangri-La China was different...
I’ve traveled to many places with great hotels, but this one truly stands out as exceptional. It's super luxurious and fancy, with everything being new and in great shape. The endless indoor pool was absolutely stunning and added a touch of elegance to my stay. The gym offered a beautiful view of the city, making workouts a pleasure rather than a chore. My room was comfortable with a lovely view of the city as well. Overall, it was an outstanding experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a touch of luxury during their travels.
