Probably the best country house hotel in England
Relaxing stay perfect choice
Couple staying for our anniversary. Dinner in both restaurants absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. Spa facilities were decent however steam room by the pool was closed. This was not an issue as there is a steam room in the changing rooms. Gym and fitness classes were fun and easy to book as was the use of the pickle ball court. My partner played a round of golf which he enjoyed, the grounds are beautiful and so is the walk down to the beach. Lounge and bar staff lovely, great cocktails. Highly recommend Chewton glen
Beautiful hotel, lovely staff and amazing food.
Truly exception from the moment you arrive at the gates to this magical place. If you are looking for a very special escape and a lifetime of memories there can be no better place that Chewton Glen.
A great place for a high quality and relaxed long weekend stay. The atmosphere in the hotel was excellent - probably due to the staff in all areas who did all that was needed to make our stay so enjoyable. The dining experiences both formal and informal were very good. The Spa was of the highest standard - the staff, the services offered and the quality of the facilities made this a great experience.
Lovely two night stay
Lovely two night stay at Chewton Glen. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Had a meal in the dining room and the Kitchen and both were very good. Room was superb. Will definitely come back again
Fantastic hotel
It was my wife and I’s first fl stay at CG. We loved our room and the service was great. The hotel and grounds were immaculate.
Service levels were amazingly high, so hard to find in the UK these days.
Perfect wedding anniversary stay
Great stay, friendly efficient check in with complimentary room upgrade. Complimentary chocolates, nibbles and soft drinks were also provided. We appreciated the evening turn down service but the maid service was erratic turning up at 8.45 was a bit early then disappeared until lunchtime when two sets turned up within 10 minutes of each other. Aircon also appreciated as the weather was very warm. Excellent food in the main restaurant on our first night we had food from the bar on our second night on the outside terrace. Very nice pool and spa with great hydrotherapy area and outside terrace. Beautiful grounds and walked kitchen garden. We would definitely come back.
The spa is ok but the pools are super, as is the rest of the hotel and service. Lovely stay.
The best stay
One of the best stays in a hotel we both have had ! Everything was utter perfection and we look forward to coming again soon.
Old fashion luxury
We booked one of the suites with the hot tub. While it was a luxurious experience, the bathrooms needed a bit of renovation and care. You could still hear neighbours and staff cleaning rooms next door, which is annoying if you want to have a nap. Lovely surroundings. Main restaurant ok-ish. I wished they didn’t put so much sugar in all the dishes. Only the dover sole escaped the sugar and was delicious. I think the place is overpriced for the comfort and service, like a lot of places in UK. If you like old things and the smells that come with that, you will like it.
Briliant and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Highly recommended *****
The staff here are amazing. They were always alert to our needs, and were happy and cheerful. The hotel and especially our room was spotless and every need was catered for. They set extremely high standards and are determined to make your visit as good as it can be. Nothing is too much trouble. I wish we lived closer and could visit more frequently.
One of the best if not the best that we have stayed Spa staff and food options stood out
Slight hitch on checking in but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us.
Best hotel ever
Great facilities and lovely hotel grounds. The Kitchen restaurant was really good and everything we had was delicious. Sadly, the same can’t be said about the Dining Room. Perhaps it’s time for the chef to try his own red curry that’s not red and super bland with extra dry rice? Slow service at dinner, had to ask for the table to be cleared. The breakfast was below par for the hotel of such calibre. It has an all inclusive “vibe” where lukewarm buffet seems to be acceptable.
A wonderful property offering utmost luxury, along with state of the art spa facilities, set in a magnificent grounds with timeless elegant rooms in traditional English class, helped along by fabulous staff to match
Perfection
The property is beautiful and the surrounding area is stunning. Really enjoyed our stay The only disappointing aspect was dining at the Kitchen
Excellent hotel with beautiful room. Great restaurants!
An amazing property. Attention to detail impeccable and the staff are amazing. Such a joy to visit.
35th Birthday Celebrations
Amazing stay… this place has the wow factor when you arrive! Staff welcome you at the door, check in was very easy. Spa is amazing. Only negatives, not enough Sun loungers we had to wait quite a while. The lockers in the changing rooms there were no free ones and lots broken. Changing rooms good have been a bit tidier. Swimming pool is lovely, hydro pool is great but again very busy. One hot tub outside couldn’t get in as it was so busy. Restaurant in the spa could be improved, make sure you grab a seat with a view. The rest of the restaurant looks like a leisure centre, needs to be made more premium with more sofas! Room was amazing has a Junior suite, ground floor with huge balcony. Had dinner in the Dining Room- recommend the lobster curry! Breakfast was average it’s buffet and lots of choice but lots of warmed up food, should be a few more table service options for high end hotel. The grounds are beautiful and very easy to walk to the beach! Few animals on site, very fluffy sheep and a horse dressed as a unicorn! Over all an amazing trip, I would def come back! Shame I couldn’t take my dog… lots of dogs but you have to pay the extortionate room rate in the treehouses to be able to enjoy this luxury!
A very special place. Very memorable as we celebrated my husband’s birthday. Staff were fantastic and nothing was ever too much. Catered for children exceptionally well. Only suggestion would be for the pool to be warmer. Otherwise, a perfect stay.
Lovely, scenic location.
Amazing stay.
We stayed in the treehouse, it was amazing, so beautiful, service was outstanding and so was the food, particularly the kitchen restaurant. Only niggle was that some items on the dining room menu were unavailable which was a shame.
Lovely staff, amazing food and wonderful grounds to explore.
great place to stay
Very relaxing and service was very good. Spa has been recently refurbished and rooms are if a good standard. Would recommend booking the restaurants prior to arrival as although not open to non residents there isn’t enough tables to accommodate all guests
Nice location for beach walks and cycles
The location and grounds of the hotel make for a very nice stay. The hotel is a little tired around the edges with some dated decor particularly in the corridor areas but the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The hotel was busy and the staff struggled to cope with service at mealtimes being particularly erratic and slow.
Lovely
Almost faultless. Would have been nice to have a coffee machine in the room, rather than instant. The patio could have done with a sweep. There are limits to how many people are allowed in the spa at any one time which is not monitored. There should be a time limit on certain areas to ensure all guests are able to use them.
The Chewton Glen
We stayed in an exec room (14) which had its own secluded decking area - perfect for summer stays. The hotel was spotless and staff went the extra mile to ensure all guests were happy.
Chewton
Beautiful hotel, good service. Great for a romantic break.
Fantastic service and the kitchen by james Martin is an excellent addition
Always lovely
Always a great stay
Amazing for families, lots of space to play and run. Pools were great. Food lovely.
The attention to detail by this hotel makes all the difference, could not fault it anywhere.
Even better than expected and the hotel facilities are as good as it gets.
Fabulous service, beautiful setting, great facilities, relaxing atmosphere - a wonderful hotel all round!
Excellent accommodation and friendly helpful staff. Would recommend
Absolutely wonderful stay
Great stay!
Beautiful property, amazing service, great food!
wow
Wow what an incredible stay. CHewton Glenn has become my new favourite place. Breakfast served in a beautiful room overlooking the stunning grounds. Staff couldnt be anymore helpful or lovely. Spa treatments top notch (although i think the extra £20 added on Fri / sat/ sundays very unecessary). wish i had gone for longer! thanks CHewton Glenn
What a beautiful property in beautiful grounds, service from every single member of staff was superb, our room was beautiful apart from a very uncomfortable bed, was such a let down as was a very unsettled nights sleeps the howling wind was making doors rattle too, but overall a beautiful hotel but perhaps a new bed in room 20
Lovely stay ! spa treatments we had were relaxing and worth getting. We got upgraded to a suite as it was my partners 40th birthday. The bed was uncomfortable so didn't sleep very well. Room service problem but hotel apologised and sorted and gave us meal for free and complimentary glass of champagne. Highly recommend this hotel. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Fantastic!
Quick little getaway at the most wonderful hotel. The staff are beyond fabulous and everything about Chewton Glen is just magical. We will be back!!
