An excellent find

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Everywhere was spotless and comfortable. Highly recommend the restaurant as the food was exceptional and beautifully presented. Service was amazing.

Lovely setting, very nice staff and nice hotel. Meal was very good, but disappointed that our 90euro per person meal did not have a fish course and a meat course, especially as the lobster half was very small. Also confit tomatoes did not go with the raspberry sorbet, not a good idea. But the sorbet was delicious

The property was in best conditions, the staff very friendly. The Restaurant was nice but limited menu.

Had a lovely stay for three nights. Bedroom was fine and with a/c. Good swimming pool to use and good grounds. Just 5 mins from the train station. Al a carte menu was good though they didn't offer any alternative if you didn't want a la carte which was one downside. Good selection for breakfast.

Room at the top

The restaurant was the best feature of this hotel in a small town on the outskirts of Poitiers. We were happy with the five course Menu de la Motte. Distinctive flavours, small portions but all delightful although the apricot and tomato desert was too sharp and bitter for our taste. The reception staff were friendly and helpful without hassle checking in and out. Our attic room was a little cramped and at the top of two flights of stairs - perhaps they don't want a dog in one of the better rooms. A venerable building like this deserves a little more tender loving care and a window cleaner but overall this was a thoroughly pleasant overnight stop between the Dordogne and the Loire.

Mixed

The room we were offered was in the attic so I paid for an upgrade, which was the floor below with large windows and a huge bathroom, so much nicer. Dinner on the terrace outside was nice but the service was extremely slow. The food was good enough. The hotel is situated in a lovely quiet area of Poitiers and is surrounded by pretty gardens.

Good choice for staying one night enroute to Borde

We stayed one night in this Château enroute to Bordeaux and it is a very nice property. We stayed at the wing which has been recently renovated and the room is simple but comfortable. The restaurant is everything as we learned from the reviews. It is exceptional and well prized although the pace of service might be too slow for Asian......

Posh!

Well, quite posh anyway. Main building had a nice feel to it and the annexe we stayed in was fine, despite some reviews to the contrary. Our room was spacious enough and had all the necessary. Double pull out bed for the kids - they would have preferred twins but didn't argue too much! The pool was lovely and very clean, towels freely available from reception. Not a lot in the village itself....nice river running through but not a lot else going on. Main draw was the hotel restaurant. Read a few reviews that said it was disappointing but I thought it was excellent....proper French "gourmet" cooking at what I thought was a reasonable enough price for highish end food. (€35 for 4 courses including cheese plus amuse bouches, etc.etc.) Childrens menu was also pretty good & well cooked (but why French restaurants insist on putting it on cheap plastic sheets so that the children think they are getting second best, I don't know - just put an extra page in the menu guys then the kids don't lobby for something from the "proper" menu that they won't eat) and they didn't leave the kids out of the amuse bouche which was a nice touch. Service in restaurant was a bit hit and miss in truth - we got forgotten about - but all in all we really liked the hotel and the restaurant and would recommend.

Nice hotel, but have stayed in better chateaux.

Do NOT eat at this hotel. We had the 45€ menu. Starter and dessert OK but main course was terrible. We sent it back and complained but same plates returned. "Sirloin" steak was full of gristle, fat and white sinewy bits totally unable to chew. No vegetables unless you asked. Fabulous write up in menu about local farms etc. but rubbish, came nowhere near description. Called Maitre D' who was busy with a large party. Next morning hotel director did not want to talk but offered 20% discount. When I insisted to speak to him, he was abusive. Other staff were polite. Food let down this hotel.

Queen of the castle for a day.

We checked in on a very hot day and the reception was lovely and cool and so was our room. The pool was a great place to relax. All staff were friendly and efficient, making us most welcome. In the evening we enjoyed a fabulous meal in the restaurant. We had eaten at the restaurant three years earlier and vowed to return when we were next in France. We were not disappointed .

Only a one night stay

Check in was quick and efficient. Reception was friendly. Dinner was superb. Room on second floor a good size. Bed a bit hard. Nice to have coffee pot in room. Skylight brightens the room up.

Terrible toilet

The public areas of the hotel and stsff are very good. The rooms are a little dated. The toilet is separate from the shower area. The shower area is nice. The toilet itself has a pressed wood toilet seat that has the paint work away from all around the inner rim. The exposed pressed wood is frayed. Not at all sanitary. We found the toilet had a crack on the top. This was in room 36. Our friends stayed in room 35 and found the same condition. Could use new toilets to make this hotel acceptable. The restaurant was great and we enjoyed that very much.

This is the second time I have stayed - very nice, best to stay in the main building. Excellent dinner.

A quiet getaway.

The setting is beautiful. It's quiet and peaceful. A lot of room on the grounds and a great pool.

Beat even my boldest expectations

I am a bit surprised that this hotel is ranked only 3 stars. The only reason must be the distance from Poitiers. All about it was just love able - spacious rooms, cozy garden, gastronomic restaurant, helpful staff. Highly recommended!

Excellent

Watch out - the very good reviews do not match with the actual experience. The walls of the hotel room are paper thin, there are cockroaches in the hallway and the building is a bit run down. The spa and gym cost 15 euros per hour and person. On the positive side, the staff is super nice and helpful, the breakfast is really great and put together with attention to detail.

Halte ressourcante à 2 pas du Futuroscope

Très belle halte à l’occasion d’un séjour familial au Futuroscope. Accueil très professionnel, propreté impeccable et literie très confortable.

Sehr zentral gelegen, mit guten Frühstück.

Lovely place

Our stay with our two dogs was very comfortable. It was a bit pricey but normal for the location. The ac blows towards bathroom so room was not very cool and we closed windows and darkening shades early to keep sun heat out. Bathroom very clean with tub and shower and separate toilet.

Un séjour agréable à Chasseneuil du Poitou

Nous avons passé une nuit au Chateau du Clos de la Ribaudière. Nous avons apprécié notre chambre, petite mais lumineuse et cosy. La literie était très bien. La décoration est assez classique à notre goût (poutre, moquette, coussins en jacquard...), voire elle peut passer pour vieillotte pour certains... Nous avons cependant apprécié l'atmosphère. Nous avons choisi par ailleurs de nous offrir un moment au spa qui est payant mais cela valait le coup car l'endroit est spacieux, très relaxant et il y avait peu de monde, ce qui nous a permis d'en profiter au maximum.

Juste parfait !

Super court séjour proche du futuroscope et de l'Arena mais dans un lieu qui se prête parfaitement a la relaxation et au delicatessen. La chambre grande et belle avec une superbe terrasse et une vue magnifique. Le restautant un délice, le personnel adorable et le cadre magique. J'y retournerai à coup sûr !

Bien pour un passage

Cadre de l'hôtel splendide , mais attention piscine fermé les dimanches et jours fériés, dommage quand cest le critère qui a fait choisir cet hôtel !! Ensuite la chmabre se situant a l'étage le parquet grince terriblement des que vous ,ou vos voisins, pose un pied au sol !!! Et enfin attention au poutre entravees de la chambre pour les personnes de plus de 1m80 !

Super étape à mi-chemin entre Paris et Arcachon. On y retournera

Problème concernant la douche -> Douche froide la première fois // Puis grosse variation de températures de la douche la seconde fois (très chaud à froid). La climatisation ne fonctionnait pas dans la chambre

Bof... poutres à 1.50m et 1.70m dans la baignoire !!! Si on s'avance pour se doucher, on projette de l'eau dans la petite salle de bains ! De ce fait mon mari s"est abstenu. Jamais vu ca pour une cham bre à 140 € et 4 * !
