It was a very sketchy place. We went there and waited over 30 minutes to be helped. After, we asked about the cancelation fee and the man got super aggressive with us and said we couldn’t cancel and he would not give any of our money back. He also said breakfast was not included and we would have to pay. Overall, it was very scary how aggressive he got and I would definitely never stay there again. Save your money and stay safe by not staying here. The man screamed at us and was extremely rude and mean. It was so bad it almost made my friend break down into tears. Avoid this place. Also, if you’re looking for good food you will be dissatisfied and disappointed because there is none near.
Checking in and out at this hotel is not a efficient setup or do any of there phone numbers connect you with hotel staff.
Good position but reception/contacts and check in/out Times ridiculous as the overpricing for a late check in (after22.30) 15€
what the hell?
I have no idea how you as a reputable business have connections to such a rundown establishment, it's beyond me how you don't check up on them before you make the connection. the airconditioner didn't work at all, the shower doors kept coming off, the walls were peeling off, the toilet seat was unscrewed, there was a huge hole in the wall which they valiantly tried to cover with a closet, the "fridge" they provided made so so much noise it wasn't worth turning on, the hallway the room was in smelt so bad we tried to keep the door closed at all times. we had mentioned to the staff about our problems(especially the aircondtioner and shower doors) and they said they would fix it, but their only offer was to move us to a much smaller room which we declined, and after 2 days just ignored our request. they say you get what you pay for, but sometimes it's well below that, i wouldn't recommend it to anyone and would try to forget it ever existed.
Not as expected
If you want a place only to sleep yeh thats ok, but if you want a hotel then No is not hotel.
Friendly and convenient
Basic accommodations at a good price. They have signs up saying something like "come as a guest, leave as family", and this is how I felt. The room was not fancy, but it had what I needed in a great location. A bus to Pizza Venezia stops almost at the front door, and a Rome metro station is just a couple blocks away. Also within a 20 minute walk of Termini (main Rome train station) and Via Veneto (where you can rent a car).
the check-in felt like an interrogation
I am fine with the cleanliness of the room, however, the receptionist was super strange and the whole check in process took 15 minutes and felt like an interrogation.
Nice and clean. Friendly staff. Close to a train station.
The guy never came to open the door for us. We called and called, waited outside, the guy picked up and said he is sleeping
GROSSSSSS!!!!! STAY AWAY, IT'S A RIP OFF!!!
MOLD, STAINED LINENS, LEFT AFTER ONE NIGHT AND THEY WON'T REFUND THE OTHER 4 NIGHTS!!! THEY LIED TO THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY SAYING I STAYED!!!
Wouldn't really bother
Selected the hotel because of the parking (doing a road trip), the parking is only on the street and paid for (apart from late evenings). Area is very busy, we were lucky to find anywhere some distance away. Nothing is allocated for the hotel. Hotel is hard to find. It is exactly where (generic) maps says but there are no signs, only a name tag above the intercom. Much more a b&b than a hotel. Walk is quite far into the best bits of town but manageable, there are buses but we didn't try them. A few decent places to eat nearby. Though the owner is friendly and it was cheap.
Unsatisfied
Hotel cheated on us for one night. Though I had booked the room for 3 nights more than a month with full payment, hotel sold my booking to someone else and pushed me in overbooked category and when I reached there hotel attendent asked me to shift to another hotel. They did not bother to inform me on this change earlier. As I had no choice, i agreed and they shifted me to a one star hotel which was at least 1 km away. Hotel guys made us wake with luggage on road. They could have arranged for a car for drop, but they were very unkind on this front. Next day the another hotel asked us to leave as Caesar only paid for one night though I was to stay for 3 night. Cesar did not bother to make arrangements to get us back. They left on our own to come back . They had to rearrange our sight seeing plan and lost few euros too. Beds are split beds put together. Very uncomfortable for a couple is sleep. They gave breakfast couple, which is not served In the hotel. You have to go to another small cafe and he will give you only one coffee and crossiant. Again very down market arrangement.
Do you call this a "HOTEL"?
It`s just an appartement turned into what they dare to call a "Hotel" Noisy and not pleasent to stay in. Check out at 10 am (Crazy no?) Stuff not available, you have to call them by phone or look for them in the 3rd floor (Where they have more rooms) I din't like it bad stuff (refuse to call a taxi for an old couple, they asked for money to do so)
The room was smelling so bad as soon as we enter the room and when we asked for the room change, they said that they have no other rooms available and the smell is coming from outside and not from inside. But after we left the window open for a while the whole smell was gone.
Nice Experience
The staff was very nice and passionate.
Nice hotel and neighborhood!
I only stayed one night because it was a little too noisey outside my room door due to staff or people talking loud or walking so I couldn't relax. But the room was nice and clean. The guy who checked me in was very helpful and informative and spoke great English which I appreciated.
This hotel is very close to the city center, you can walk to the city or you can just take a bus. The bus stop is on the corner of the block that it's on. The workers were very nice and welcoming! Always cleaned our rooms and cleaned it nicely, have absolutely no complaints! Would definitely come back and recommend this hotel to friends and family:)
The staff was rude. The wifi doesn't work. Did I mention the staff is rude. I think one of the receptionist told us it's not a 5 star hotel so he didn't understand why we were upset when all we asked is if he could fix the wifi.
Very polite receptionist. Customer service is a MUST and the receptionist man did that. However, the condition of the bread and beakfast is terrible. There is NO LIGHT on the front door of the building which makes it hard for the customer to locate it at night time. The elevator was extremely old. They should change it because others can't use it if it's not properly closed. That is really annoying if the guest has a lot of stuff.
Not as centralized as advertized
This hotel was not at centralized as advertized. WIFI failed multiple times. Ordered a taxi through the front office, but was notified at 2AM the morning we needed it that they couldn't provide one as promised. Very disappointed with our stay. Room was clean, but towels were never changed.
would recomend
I arrived late, but someone was there to see me in, the young girl ( student ) was extremely nice and helpful, the place has excellent security ,small rooms but very clean, I would stay there again.. the girl told us which buss to get and where to get our tickets, she also drew a ring around the places to visit and the cheapest way to get there.
Disgrace
I'll never be back. Reception was only available for a few hours. I was insulted by the cleaner regarding my fatigue. The hotel was 5 floors up and the lift broke. I never felt safe in this hotel and the beds are probably the most uncofortable bits of fabric I have slept in. No amenities or access to them in the room. An awful area.
Basic but clean and comfortable
we had a little trouble initially as the large front doors were shut and no buzzer was being answered. However once we telephoned the receptionist came down and opened the doors. She answered our questions with regard to the facilities and was forthcoming with information about the local travel links and supplied us with a map. She was very busy but was helpful. we had no need for any further contact as the room was fine and cleaned daily and everything worked as required.
Met our needs quite well
We found this to be basic, clean and safe. The people in reception were quite nice and welcoming. Daily light cleaning with linens changed every other day. It was a bit far from the center of Rome but we enjoy the walking so we walked everywhere. Price was reasonable. TV was OK but no English language programming that we could find. Also, Wi-Fi in the room was good and mini-fridge worked well. Overall, good value.
Difficult to find. No signposting.
Staff trying to sell parking for €24 night when it was free and even tried to mislead to buy parking ticket. No shampoo in room. Towels not changed. When trying to call hotel nobody answers. No wifi in our room. I had to go to other corridor and sit on stairs to get signal
Not a bed and breakfast
This hotel was difficult to find. Upon arriving, we were brought into a small room where check in took far too long. After this we were given room keys and sent on our way. The bed was terrible. It was two twins pushed together. It also stated in the description that it was a bed and breakfast. In fact, there is no food available at this hotel whatsoever. All in all I am very disappointed as reviews for this place were fairly reasonable.
Friendliness of Staff Easy commute
The staff at Caesar's Palace was very friendly and very accommodating. They helped us with directions and buses to take to travel around the city. Commuting was very easy. There is a bus stop and a taxi station 100 feet away from the hotel. Even though there was a distance between the Vatican or the Coliseum and other attractions, it was not difficult to get to them. Nice restaurants in the area.
Good enough for a short break to Rome.
The hotel is clean but basic. The a/c was amazing and they also had a hairdrier which was useful. The hotel was about a 30 minute walk from the main termini, however it was easily accessible by bus. We bought metro rail cards as we travelled in Rome by Metro so we were able to get the blue line Metro from termini to Castro Pretorio. This was only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Please note that although the hotel says it is a B B, the hotel itself does not serve breakfast. They give you a voucher for a croissant and a tea/coffee and direct you to a local cafe. This only cost €1,50 each if we were to buy it so if given the option to have breakfast I would decline as there is no point in spending extra money on it. The hotel is hard to spot as it does not have a big sign outside so be aware of this. Go with the street name and number and you'll find it. Overall a nice stay and not too far from the main termini train station. The attractions are all easily accessible by Metro.
The hotel was clean with good access to public transportation. good for the price.
Would stay again
We had a great stay here. The room was extremely clean, bed was comfortable with clean linen and the bathroom in great condition. We also had a balcony and air conditioning. The room was quiet and away from the road. There was also the bonus of a lift as we were located on the 5th floor. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Great value and location.
Nice place to recharge for a new day of adventure
Given the proximity to multiple good gelato establishments, it is a good thing the entrance is up 5 flights of steps. - They either changed the towels and sheets or tidied up the room daily, which I appreciated. - The double bed in our room had two mattresses, so each sleeper had a minimal effect on the other.. - The windows were sufficiently screened by the trees so that while we could open them for a healthy amount of fresh air and sunlight, we still had a good amount of privacy. - The electrical outlets are all 3-pronged and sat flush with the plastic plate. - The hotel staff were helpful, and though there were a few hiccups around keys on the night we arrived, that was quickly resolved before we settled in for the night. - The shower is a bit finicky. The first night it only sprayed hot water, and the last night it only sprayed cold water. - It was mentioned up-front that no breakfast was included
Come in as guest, leave as family !
There motto says it all. Helpful, caring attendants of clean, stocked, ideally located rooms. We will definitely stay here again. Thank- you Joseph and Benjamin for making us feel like family.
exceptional stay
Thx so much to the manager jo and all the people were so friendly, the bar close to the guesthouse was characteristic. Rooms were spacious and the service was very friendly!
This is not really hotel not near to metro but bus stop 90 front of hotel over all good staff is really very very good
Rooms were great
The price paid the quality and service received make this a wonderful location in the centre of Rome. Valid choice!
Never go there
No hot water, no AC, asked us to pay extra money for keeping our suitecases in storage for just 2 hours Do not go there Liars
Do not stay there ever
No hot water, no AC, freezing at night, aked us money for keeping our suitecases for just 2 hours After chek out Liars
Ruined our impressions of Rome...
I'm not sure how Cesar Palace B&B received "4+" rating out of "5", but the reality is very far from what you see in advertising. This B&B has serious hygiene problems, the place is very run down. We had a full understanding this was not a hotel, but having travelled to 42 countries, this was by far one of the most disappointing accommodations we encountered. We moved out on day 2 and stayed at the hotel next door ("Hotel Turner" 4 star), which charged us LESS!!! than Cesar Palace B&B and provided good service and clean and comfortable accommodation. Cesar Palace B&B should be taken off Expedia and other international travel sites' offerings because people deserve much better quality for their money and a much better experience than what we had.
False advertisement
The staff are absolutely friendly and helpful. But the hotel was absolutely shocking. It is way too different as how it was advertised. It is way too far from the city center. To be fair, the hotel is clean - specially the toilet. This bed and breakfast can do so much better if only they would invest on renovation. And please, change those old stuff like the bed, pillows, etc. This hotel needs an overhaul.
Cheap and cheerful
We were in Rome for a week and this was a great place to be based. Rooms were basic but adequate. Beds were really comfortable. Breakfast was fine. Richard, who seemed to work all the hours god sends, was a delight. Very friendly, always happy and willing to help.
Good for the price
Good for those who are looking for a decent place to sleep for a fair price. Within walking distance of every major tourist sight in Rome. Food was decent. Staff friendly. This is not a hotel to spend your afternoons "chilling", this is a place to drop your stuff and head out to explore then come back for a good night sleep after a long day of walking and exploring! Nothing more. Nothing fancy. Just simple and basic! :)
Good service
Great place to for a short break. Hotel staff couldn't do enough to help, the room was spotless and facilities very good. Only downside comment was the breakfast was pretty meagre but did suffice. Good side, there's plenty of places to drink and eat near by and a supermarket if you need to top up on essentials and well within walking distance to the main sites (even with a wheelchair) - all in all great value for money and would stay there again.
Good location but crummy hotel
I'd have rated this place as a 1 if it weren't for the good people and a good location. The beds are perhaps the second worst I've ever slept in. I could feel every spring under the weak padding. The pillows were lumpy, almost didn't qualify as a pillow. The room was ok clean though the shower had mildew in the tile seams that I was able to scrape off with my fingernail and the floor corners had built up grime. So obviously they don't quite know how to clean thoroughly. The only positive was a good price and not too far from the central district. It was right across from Porta Pia and the bus stopped nearly in front of the hotel. There were some local eating places (non tourist) and a market across the street. So if you're ok with painful beds on the cheap in a decent location this is the place for you.
Clean and safe
I was very pleased with my stay at Cesar palace. The staff was friendly although not very knowledgable about surrounding area. The rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh towels. Sheets were changed every other day. We stayed a week and had no problems with the neighborhood. We felt safe walking at night, there were many restaraunts ans shops making it easy to buy groceries. The hotel has a many fridge which came in very useful. The breakfast was decent. It included cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and pastries. The bus stop is a 1 minute walk from the hotel and the metro a 5-10 minute walk. It is easy to get to the coliseum and other sites. Beds were hard but for the price it was an awesome find. I would definitely go back!
Very helpful staff
The staff at this hotel is very helpful and go out of their way to make your stay a good one. It's close to a bus that will take you to the train station or very close to St. Peter's Square. I had no problems connecting with my tour bus at either of those locations. They are a little short on amenities, but for a low-budget hotel, it was more than fine.
Great staff, bad beds
We chose to stay a little out of the city to get more of a local italian feel. Yet -- finding the actual hotel was a huge task. It is located in an apartment building with very little signage. You can take the 90 bus from termini train station -- but I strongly advise taking a cab. The bus stop was very close to the hotel and it was NO issue getting into the city from Caesar's palace, once you get oriented. The staff was EXTREMELY kind and helpful. They speak italian, spanish and french. The manager had lost the password to the wifi and my husband who works in IT was able to look it up for him and manger was extremely grateful and became fast friends with my husband. :) The rooms were fine for the price. Clean, newly retiled, but the bed was very uncomfortable and the bedding had seen better days..... I would go back to the hotel for the staff alone -- but the beds were a definite drawback.
Hard to find but worth it.
If I didn`t have sat nav on my phone,it would have taken a while to find this place.A small plaque beside the very large doors was all there was .We arrived around 1pm and there was no-one around to let us check in.There was a very kind and helpful Italian gentleman sitting outside on the street who showed us how to get in and where to go inside,to enable us to get a phone number for the staff to come and check us in.There really should be an email sent to all visitors explaining what to do on arrival.Apart from that, everything else was very satifactory.Breakfast was fine, staff helpful. We walked from Termini to Cesar Palace and it took about 15 mins with luggage.I`d definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.
Lot of bank for your buck!
If you are on a budget, you can't select a better place to stay! The staff is both friendly and helpful, the location is great, and the hotel itself is both clean and comfortable. The room we stayed in was rather small, but that was OK since we were out all day sightseeing. The only downside was that they didn't change the towels or the sheets every day, but it wasn't too bad. There is a supermarket across the road, lots of good places to eat in the neighbourhood, walking distance to both Termini station and the beautiful Villa Borghese, aswell as a great gelato place right around the corner. I would absolutely recomend this place to anyone who asked! Thank you Cesar Palace for a great stay in Rome!
Rome at an afordable price
The hotel was worth the money. The elevator is very small but it's ok, Breakfast was not very good, The trattorias next to the hotel are very good. Bus and Metro system is great. But the Hotel does not have a lobby entrance nor a concierge. I almost dindt find the entrance. it needs a big sign. nevertheless, now that I know I will consider staying here again.
Beautiful Room
Beautiful spacious clean room. Breakfast was ok, but settings is pretty nice and cosy. All the staffs are very friendly which make the stay very enjoyable.location wise is walkable to the main attractions but not exactly close.
It is fairly close to all historic sights
The location is little bit tricky to find on your own after the flight!
Excellent location and Fantastic Staff
From the moment we met Joya at reception our stay was lovely and she immediately offered us refreshments on arrival and explained all about breakfast and how to travel to all the sights easily. It made our stay even better as instead of wasting time we knew exactly which bus to take to get to each attraction and as the B and B is on the main transport line we got on and off about 100 metres from our accommodation it is also close to a great supermarket if you need anything. We loved the quaintness of the B and B breakfast was continental rolls tea and coffee fresh fruit and yoghurts but you are near to plenty of cafes if you need something more substantial. If we were travelling to Rome again we would definitely stay here and we would also highly recommend it to family and friends. Joyas father also works here and was very friendly as well we loved our stay.
Solid Bet
There were no major regrets about our stay at Cesar Palace B&B. Staff was friendly, and room was spacious. Cleanliness and amenities were adequate. Unfortunately, the wireless internet cut out for a couple of days. Safe, quiet, and welcoming.
not very good
It was a bit funny (?) at the beginning, since on the reception we have been told that in order for us not to run away at 4am from hotel without paying for stay, we should pay in advance. I felt a bit strange that hotel officers did not trust their clients. Also we just arrived from Florence, where we could leave our baggage for whole day after check-out. Here we were told that we will be charged for leaving our bags on reception after 1pm for every hour.
Wasn't Bad for the Price
Title says it all... For the price, you really can't complain. The only thing that we didn't like was that it wasn't as central as we would have liked.
Nice atmosphere, Possibility of Kosher too!
My experience in this place can be described as short as unique. I have been here after having been suggested from a friend yet I lost my luggage and I have had Richard the manager helping throughout he was able always with patience and smile to help me and I had my liuggage back after 8 hrs. I was very happy, moreover the rooms are cozy and the breakfast was good:
Ok for sleeping...
Very disappointment staff service. We stay almost a week we never fill welcome...
Comfortable stay in Rome
Cesar Palace is a fantastic place to base yourself whilst in Rome. Our room (which was cleaned daily) was exceptionally large and clean, and the bathroom was spotless and well maintained. Staff were super friendly and helpful: they went over and above the call of duty to make our one-week stay wonderful. As in most Italian hotels, breakfast is rather quirky, but no less satisfying and filling. Free wifi was very strong in our room plus a TV if you somehow find yourself bored. Cesar Palace is located in a great central location, about 20 minutes from Termini Stazione, and well within walking distance to Vatican City and other points of interest. It is also located in a great area for fantastic Italian food, and the best gelatteria is located just around the corner (we became regular customers during out stay!).
Enjoyed Rome, but quite disappointed by restaurants
Enjoyable experience, sights amazing very easy to locate using local map from Hotel, Hotel staff very helpful and accomodating, but felt let down with the restaurants was looking for that wow factor of Italian food, have experienced better service and food back home in our local Italian restaurant.
I will come back
Staff is very nice, room clean and perfect, location very good,
Okay stay
Stay was okay, guys working there were awesome, female workers not so much. Me and my wife had a great time in Rome, this hotel is close to a bus stop and within walking distance to pretty much anywhere not that bad of a walk. Has restaurants around as well. Room was small, very small. Go for their bigger rooms. Price was good. Pretty much you get what you pay for.
Staff very friendly and so helpful,
Staff very friendly and so helpful, room fine great showder for the price, bus stop near, a wee walk from the metro, restuarants near by.
Perfect and friendly
Ideal location - less than a ten minute walk to the main Termani Roma station. The room was spacious and immaculately clean. The staff went above and beyond to help me with my questions and treated me like family. Next trip to Rome I would absolutely stay here again.
The Cesar Palace B&B - is withing walking distance
My husband and I just wanted a place to rest our heads and shower after a full day of sight seeing. This was fine for the budget we had in mind. A 20 min walk to Termini station but the bus stops right outside the building. Easy to get to from airport. Just take the APshuttle bus to termini and walk. We enjoy walking and travel light. A quiet location with local resturarant/pizza shop near by. The room and bathroom was cleaned everyday, A/C worked great. Breakfast was very basic and is the same each day. No lobby but building is secured at night. Recommend to anyone who on a budget and needs a place to rest your head. We got what we paid for in Rome.
Great if you don't plan on spending all day in room :)
The room offers the minimum of comforts but is functional. The ensuite was modern and clean. The manageress did not speak any English which made things a little more difficult. Mid-way through our stay, and after requested additional blankets, one of the blankets we had originally was taken from us, in addition to the mattress from the spare single bed. Never nice to be cold though the central heating kicks in later in the evening to warm things up reasonable well. Generally, if you intend to explore the sights of Rome and do not expect to spend too much time in your room, this is a good value B&B in a handy location not too far of a walk from the metro and bus-stops.
A simple and clean B and B close
A simple and clean B and B close to Rome's Termini Railway Station. Great for the price and good split air conditioning in a big room with new bathroom with a great walk in shower. Go early at 8am for breakfast as seating is limited-breakfast cereal and fresh rolls with jam/cheese. Ok for what the price is in overpriced Rome. A good room to come back to after being hassled in Rome all day.
A pleasant hotel with good service
A pleasant hotel with good service - the manager goes the extra mile if you need anything. Close to bus routes and fairly close to the metro. Supermarket and a number of reasonable restaurants nearby.
Sporco e responsabile molto scortese
Chambre grotesque ! Ils disent petit déjeuner offert ! Niet a fuir ...
Air conditioning not work
A eviter
- Nelle stanze mancavano i frigoriferi.
orribile
L’unica cosa positiva é la posizione. I servizi pessimi, le stanze orribili e sporche. Non consigliato.
Hotel calidad - precio.
Soggiorno a Roma
Soggiorno a Roma in zona centrale e ben collegata con i trasporti pubblici.
The place was advertised in Expedia as a B&B. Upon arrival, we were told that if we wanted breakfast, we had to pay extra. After inspection of the kitchen, we decided to breakfast elsewhere (a lonely Ikea flat plate, two soup plates, two refrigerators that had not been cleaned for a long while, no mosquito nets in the always open window, and a rather small table. The room’s mattresses were old and uncomfortable. We were given one double bedspread for two twin beds (?). The shower stall had fungi in all 4 corners. We had to ask for soap and shampoo. There was no access to ice, in the middle of a hot August month. No mosquito net in the room’s windows for a night of fresh air. No toilet paper hanger, just a casually set roll on top of the bidet. No lobby or general space, just tiny rooms with poorly kept private bathrooms. No towels or sheets changed, no floor cleaning or waste basket emptying during the 6 days of our stay. (We asked for a change of towels the third day, but it did not encourage a repeat behavior. Cheap place to spend the whole day sightseeing, as the place itself was unappealing and lacking a “home-like” touch. Considerable discrepancies between advertised and actual conditions.
