When I made the reservation there were lovely photos of the pool and the beach. Everything is under construction. No pool and no access to the beach. When I contacted the contact it was pretty much who cares. The pool was not listed in the amenities yet is the prominent photo showcasing the property. It clearly states walk to beach. We couldn't enjoy our television because the unit next to us had theirs blasting. The bed is obviously so used that when you go to sit it literally sinks several inches. I travel quite a bit and I have never left a bad review. My needs were minimal, just a place to stay while work was being done at our home. Even the Keurig didn't work!!! I think if my concerns would have been addressed in a professional manner I would have let it go. There should be compensation due to the misrepresentation of the property. I would never recommend this property. As stated in the previous sentence I should be compensated for no pool and no beach access which were clearly depicted in the photos. Expedia should be ashamed.

This property is no a hotel, I couldn’t stay there because their were anyone at the reception, there is not customer service phone number after hours, this is the worst experience and expedía wash their hands, they only care about your money and they don’t help you

Everyone in the area is very friendly

Overall stay was wonderful but owner completely stop communicating after check in thought it was a little odd but management was very accommodating and hospitable!!

They have pictures of a pool in the ad but the pool was empty with yellow police tape around it. The beach entrance was closed and had yellow tape around the broken stairs. We ended up staying at another hotel.

Terrible, Baddddddd

Do yourself a favor. Run from this place. We left a day early from this hole in the wall place. Host was fine. The room was a mess. Trying to reach owner but no response. I tried to get in touch with this Booking website and no one has replied back. My advice don't even think about this mess.

Pool under construction and no beach access

The place was very nice but they were in the middle of construction to rebuild after a storm currently has no beach access or pool. Great accommodations otherwise.

giving my review based off of the condition when i stayed. (under construction) staff was great super friendly and very helpful. condo is being remodeled. heard nothing but carpet ripping all day Saturday and a Vacume running all morning Sunday outside my door in the hallway.

Never got the room the room was double booked and I was still charged and never got a response from the owner or hotel.

THE BED WAS DEFINETLY WORN OUT NEED NEW ONE. THEY SAID NO SMOKING BUT EVERYONE AROUND SMOKED AND THE SMELL WAS HEAVY IN THE WALKWAY. WE HAD TO TAKE OUR OWN TRASH OUT, AS ADVISED. ITS A HOTEL THAT WAS CONVERTED TO A CONDO. IT WAS COZY ENVIRONMENT THE PEOPLE THAT WERE AT THE F RONT DESK WAS VERY SWEET.

Great vacation/ work

We enjoyed our stay . It was really clean and comfortable. We love the view of beach. The only thing I could suggest it to have a mop and broom. Thanks for allowing us to stay looking forward to booking in the future

Castaways Daytona Beach Shores

Very much enjoyed our stay @ Castaways!! Perfect location, wonderful use of space in the rental, extremely friendly people would definitely visit again!!

Very pleasant place clean comfortable, didn't care for the construction crew visual. But overall great place

for the price that i paid this was an awesome place. it had a great view of the ocean, a big bed and a small kitchen which is very nice and hard to find for that price. a couple things tho, it was not very clean, looked like they hadn’t swept, there were crumbs in the couch, the remote to the tv barely worked along with the wifi. other than those few small things it was an awesome experience

Ok place to stay short term

Location was good and convenient. The room could have been a little cleaner.

The unit owner wasn't great. When i brought preexisting damage to their attention, they quickly tried blaming us. I took pictures of everything with a tune stamp attached. The property was decent but unfortunately no.beach access due to hurricane damage.

DO NOT RENT from this property manager. The only reason I’m giving this property 1 star is because 0 is not an option. This property no longer has beach access and the pool in under construction due to damage from the hurricane. I never even stepped foot in our room before we decided we weren’t staying. You have to walk several blocks to get to the beach and right outside our porch was construction equipment. I was denied a refund for the room and cleaning fee even though I never stepped foot in the room. He wouldn’t answer my phone calls or texts and when I reached out to Travelocity I was told there was nothing they could do since I was already denied a refund. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Misleading not worth any penny

Place was filthy. Misleading , no pool and not safe to stay at, we arrived at the facility and all blood at the towels , room was a messed,basically it’s a nightmare so we decided not to stay and just booked a decent

I like that they had a host that was very polite, but I hate that the wall had a hold and was covered with duck tape. The door knob was held together by 4screws and when pull to close it has a gap in it that you can see threw. Over all very poorly kept.

I didn't realize that people lived there permanently. The name resort implies, well resort. I actually felt a bit safer knowing that people have more respect for their home. The sink was clogged but other than tyhat it wqas fine.

The building smelled like my fraternity house. Its daytona beach, so I guess thats to be expected. The bathroom sink was clogged and the door was unlocked and open when we got there. I was a pretty bummed because reviews and photos made it seem decent. It was not as shown. Bed was comfortable but the sheets had dirt in them. Ok for college kids partying weekend away but not for what I wanted.

There was absolutely no communication in any way shape or form. There was construction going on with concrete starting at 8 AM which caused all of the walls and floors to vibrate in the mornings, which made it impossible to sleep. Not only that we were not warned about this construction, and because of it the amenities such as the pool area was unavailable to us. When we called the number provided to get some sort of solution, it was ignored several times and we have gotten no answer back. We are beyond disappointed. Do not recommend at all.

It is such a nice place and convenient location. Like a tiny house with everything in one room. Very cozy.

owned condos with no way to check in or get a key. Had to rent a different room at another location. This was a scam and a rip off.

Upon arrival we found the unit still had items from previous guests in the closet. One of the shower doors was missing, literally missing and caused the floors to become soaked each time you showered. Expecting a key card, found an actual key in the room (not a big deal) but it was attached to a floating lanyard that they expected you to carry so you could gain entry into the building. We received notification about the NON SMOKING policy and found chairs on the balcony with ashtrays. Seems overall the place was dated, no pool and access to the water was limited and required a lenghtly walk. I would not book this place again.

The room was not cleaned when I checked in. I had to text the owner. There was no remote for the tv,so it was useless for the first few days until it was replaced. the extra resort fee was not 69 dollars like posted but double that.

Castaways screwed us over by not giving us our room.I had reservation number and they said the room was not available,very disappointed and was up till 230 am the day of check in trying to figure things out

Hurricane Nicole Troubles

I booked this hotel for a wedding I was in town for. Unfortunately a tropical storm/hurrican (Nicole) rolled through during the exact period of time I was supposed to be staying there. Volusia County had a mandatory evacuation for anything East of the Intracoastal Waterway, and the bridges to the hotel area were closed. Now for the really bad part. I contacted the hotel when the other wedding guests told me their hotels all canceled their bookings or had them check out by 10 AM on Wednesday (which was the start time for the mandatory evacuation). This hotel said that there was no evacuation and that I should check in as expected. I figured they just hadn't heard yet so I waited a bit longer. I contacted the hotel again the next day and was told that I still should be checking in. When I mentioned the evacuation being mandatory, the hotel said that other guests were there and that they weren't in the path of the hurricane. After asking for a refund, I was ignored. I tried contacting Hotels.com about it as I thought it was criminally negligent for the hotel to expect me to try checking in during a hurricane (Daytona Beach was annihilated and is still closed until further noticed at rhe time of this review). The hotel denied the refund. I'm currently in the process of disputing this charge with my card company because it's stupid that I'm paying for something I couldn't use due to unforseen weather and a MANDATORY evacuation that the hotel was too greedy to comply with.

Very difficult to communicate with the owner or property management. Front desk has nothing to do with the condo. Room service came by today trying to clean because they were told I was leaving today when I actually have several days left on my reservation.

This is an absolutely wonderful property The condo is very very clean very quaint private stunning view even though you are not on the ocean you still can see all the way up up the beach coastline it is an excellent choice if you are going to make vacation plans I would definitely consider staying here for sure people are absolutely amazing very friendly.

Beau séjour de 4 nuits parcontre a cause du dernier ouraguan la piscine est fermé et pour avoir l’accès a la plage il faut marché 2 hotel plus loin! Décu d’avoir eu a débourser des frais de 10% taxe débergement à la fin de mon voyage , je pensais que le prix indiquer sur hotel.com était le prix final!

Séjour à Daytona

Très belle unité au 6e avec vue sur mer. Le seul hic se sont les tabourets en métal et sans dossier qui servent de chaise, très inconfortable. 2 chaises avec dossier et table pour repas seraient plus apprécié surtout pour un séjour de quelques jours.
