I really loved the look and feel of the hotel. The location of the hotel was the best—so close to everything! The hot tubs on the roof were cold and didn’t seem to work, but overall I’d recommend staying here especially if your focus is on location. The hotel staff/front desk were also very friendly and helpful!
Everything is closed to the hotel
Nice room.
Check in took a bit long because there was only one receptionist but she was friendly.
Breakfast offerings were excellent and the staff were great. The ability to drop bags after getting off the ship early and not having to drag them through town all day was a great perk.
Great little place in old SanJuan. Very walkable to everything! Staff very friendly and helpful. One odd thing that I did see mentioned in reviews there are no windows in our room to outside.Coated windows to hallway only
Hotel is in great location in Old town, close to many sights. Very convenient
Charming Boutique Hotel in OSJ
This quaint boutique hotel in Old San Juan was filled with charm, comfort and convenience to the city. The room was just what was needed for my pre-cruise stay.
Would not stay again
Wifi was terrible, the air conditioning light was on all night. The hot tub was cold. Evening staff member was not professional or helpful.
Everything was dated. The hallway and room had an intense industrial cleaner smell, shower faucets were reversed and took 5 minutes to get lukewarm water. The towels had holes and the hot tubs on the roof were disgusting. It looked fun and quirky but ended up being gross, overpriced and a huge disappointment.
This hotel is in the perfect spot! Close to the Port and tons of shopping and eating in the area! Very walkable as well to get out and explore. I would definitely stay here again.
Excelent location. Friendly staff. Recently Renovated. No hot water on bathroom, very disappointed. Overall good. Recommended
Property is great condition but too much noise from other room and above the floor.
The rooms and the hallways at this hotel was priceless.Definitely worth the stay!!!!
Location!
We had a nice stay, the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was big enough and clean. The location was perfect! We really enjoyed the rooftop hot tubs after a long day of sightseeing. My only complaint is that I upgraded to a room with a terrace/balcony thinking it would be a balcony with street view but instead got a view of the other buildings roofs, if I had known that I would have not upgraded.
Fine
Customer service was the worst I have experienced in San Juan.
The staff was very friendly, housekeeping did a great job. Ambiance was nice.
We enjoyed our stay here. In the heart of downtown it was super convenient to walk everywhere. The room itself was comfortable, great beds, and loved the wood shutters to make the room super dark for great sleep. Only critique was that the front desk seemed understaffed every time we went by, only 1 person working and lots of guests needing help. Besides that, would definitely stay again.
Casablanca is located in the historic old San Juan. You can walk to many restaurants and all historic sites and landmarks at any time.. it was very safe! That was all the plus. Now about the hotel itself - it was a very old space and they have tried their best to present it well. But - It was dingy. - Plumbing was so bad the shower was just dripping water. - No room service whatsoever. - and when you order food at the cafe be sure to ask for silverware as well - it’s not included with the food and you may be sitting in front of the food without silverware and no waiter will make eye contact.

Lovely building in old town. Great location. Everything is within walking distance.
It’s a dump.
The hotel is charming with unique and fun features like a glass elevator and the roof top terraces. We had a two room suite so that our kids could be in an adjoining room. It was small but comfortable. Check-in is strictly at 4pm so, as you would imagine, there were a lot of people trying to check in at the same time. We came in a few minutes before 4 and did not have to wait too long. The neighborhood is in the heart of the historic Old San Juan and close to one of the old forts. Great walking area.
Good locarion and beutiful boutique hotel !!
Located in the center of the historic part of town. It has old times charm. The bedsheets were very clean almost crisp; however, the beds would benefit from newer and softer pillows. It felt like the pillows were from Christopher Columbus's time.
The interior was so unique and beautifuly decorated. The room and amenities were clean, would stay again!
Loved the location as it was close proximity to a lot of shops, cruise port, and dining options, but was also quiet.
Durty towells
Towells are not clean
This is one of the worst hotel that I ever stayed in .
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful! They were all outstanding!
Excellent choice right in downtown.
Nice hotel
This hotel is in a perfect location for exploring Old San Juan. Comfortable beds, good breakfast! The shower in our room lacked pressure. We didn’t make it up to enjoy the rooftop jacuzzi, but would do so on another stay.
This hotel is perfectly situated in Old San Juan within walking distance to many things, including the cruise port. The amenities (tubs/hot tubs) were perfect for relaxing after a long day of site seeing and the views are spectacular! I suggest bringing a sound machine as the walls are very thin, and the roads are very trafficked so it was hard to sleep. It was a great experience for one night, but grateful we didn't spend more than one night there due to the lack of sleep.
When we checked into the hotel, we were assigned a room on the main floor in a high traffic area. The room also had no windows. We asked to be moved to a different room but we told that we could not be accommodated. As expected, our room was extremely noisy until 4 am with people loudly coming and going, as well as using vending machines directly outside our room. We expressed our concern to the employees at the front desk the next morning but received no compensation. I would not recommend staying at this Hotel on the main floor. We got no sleep. Highly disappointing!
Not worth the money at this 2 Star hotel!
No Hot water Kettle, Coffee maker, Iron, soap dish in the room. No room service, or cleaning of the room for 2 days in a row. Stained bed sheets & towels provided. Coffee downstairs was always empty. Highly charged, too expensive 2 star hotel. Conveniently located in Old town.
The room was very cold! Which is exactly what we needed after walking in the heat and humidity all day! The bed was comfortable and cozy. The elevated was a little sketchy but we were on the 3 rd floor so it was easy enough to take the stairs. The staff were quite accommodating, holding our luggage before we could check in. There is a small restaurant in that lobby that served a delicious breakfast. There is a speakeasy just off the lobby at night. I would definitely stay at Casa Blanca again!
Disappointing stay
This hotel looks much better in photos than in reality. Room was old and had a heavy smell similar to bug spray & windows would not open. Sink didn’t drain well, etc….didn't have a good nights sleep. Location was very good in old San Juan near the cruise port.
Lovely hotel in a great location and very helpful staff.
Old but very polite and helpfull staff
Very cool place! Great location and nice amenities on site. Glad I chose Casablanca for my time in Old Town.
My door did not lock and would continue beeping until it was addressed by the staff. They tried to repair it, but it was an ongoing issue that they were aware of. I needed to slam and lift the door in order to get it to click to be securely shut. I was concerned about someone being able to easily break in or for me to get trapped in the room.
Stay away from this place!
Stay away from this hotel! they dont provide the services they say they offer and when asked for compensation they refuse to do anything about it and they have the most rude attitude towards guests! AVOID!
Very convenient, close to restaurants, and tourist places. Very happy we stay here!
Fun place in Puerto Rico. Food was nice
Rooftop was an excellent place for morning coffee or late night cocktail. Lots of excellent restaurants within walking distance.
Inexpensive, basic, safe hotel. Very good for an inexpensive, basic, clean hotel in a great location for strolling, and close proximity to cruise ships docks. When we arrived the one receptionist had 40 check-ins. Terrible. Website posted hours and menu for restaurant, which is not open for lunch or dinner. Receptionist confirmed but did not even know where to find this on their website. Restaurant Cafe Mimosa is open for breakfast but service was so slow we left and found a nearby cafe.
Beautiful property in a beautiful town with friendly and helpful staff!
Unique and eclectic
Water leaking in bathroom. Could not use shower.
Great location!
Internet not working so no tv and couldn’t order drinks
Nice cold rooms!!!!
As always it was great. Bed is super comfortable. They provided extra pillows and for this mama going through nights of hot flashes, it was freezing in the room! Perfecto!
Beautiful property in the heart of the city!
The movie is on a loop as you enter. The details of the property are beautiful. Our room was small but we did not mind. Comes with the age of the Hotel. I recommend!
We were shocked with how downtown this hotel was. We got two rooms that were a junior suite; we thought it was going to be a bit larger than it was for sure but because of everything around it; it made sense. The staff was super nice and helpful when trying to find a Puerto Rico restaurant. I do recommend this hotel to anyone that wants an experience and some fun in the downtown old San Juan area.
Old, not updated. Bathroom had no counter space, no shower door, no water pressure in shower. Only two plug outlets , ac unit leaks onto floor. Dust bunnies around the ac unit, cracked tiles in bathroom, poor lighting overall.
Beautiful hotel, rooms are great only issue we wanted breakfast but no breakfast at time.
Staff was very nice and accommodating. Decor was very interesting. Breakfast restaurant was very good.
Not you cookie cutter hotel. It's got an Old San Juan vibe that's difficult to explain. If you were expecting Holiday Inn, you're in the wrong neighborhood.
Perfect location to stay and enjoy walking around old San Juan.
They were doing construction and part of the property when I was there so it was a little bit noisy at times. It's probably concluded now. I've said there many times though and it's always very nice, a boutique hotel. great location
Best VSJ Hotel ever!
Amazing decor and attention to detail Staff is AMAZING!
Very Nice Stay in heart of Old Town
We booked the family room with a king bed and a room with two singles. Very nice hotel in a quieter area of the heart of Old San Juan. Very safe and convenient. Staff is super friendly, hotel is charming with a great lobby. My only caution is that the walls are a bit thin so I recommend white noise if you are sound sensitive. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.
Such a beautifully unique hotel in a great location!
Not clean!
Adorable hotel in a great spot but not very clean! Bathroom had hair in it and the floor was just gross. If we weren’t staying for just one night, we would have definitely checked out early.
Interesting decor. Very friendly staff.
Very clean old hotel. Lobby real cool with Morraccan detail.
Very different approach to each room
Loved this quaint little hotel, we will be back! The staff was fantastic!
I just spent the night in a metal camp cot at the Casa Blanca. Grown people on vacation feeling like we’re at army boot camp is not my idea of hospitality. Never again.
This is a wonderful boutique hotel. My room was spacious, bed was comfortable. I'd stay here again.
Great location and stunningly beautiful
Good experience.
Eclectic hotel in Old San Juan
Loved the roof top spaces and the Playroom bar. Staff very friendly and helpful. Stayed for 4 nights. Great location in Old San Juan.
Unique, close to port.
It’s a beautiful hotel and the Casablanca movie theme goes perfectly with the place and the ambiance. I will definitely return.
Excellent hotel in great location. Great customer service!
Hemingway or Bogart would be at home…very cool sty
Eclectic, retro, very cool interior design. Numerous great restaurants within 400 yards. Definitely will stay here again. Recommend getting a room with a balcony over the street.
It is such a unique hotel - love the history and the atmosphere. Being in Old San Juan is so much fun! The staff was very helpful and pleasant during check in! Highly recommended this hotel!
Hotel is great! Looks amazing, clean and it has a European feel and atmosphere; staff is very courdious. Recommended!
I loved the access to everything in Old San Jaun. The hotel was very rustic and definitely had a vibe to it. I would stay there again.
Great location to walk around Old San Juan. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful, especially John, with sightseeing and travel tips. Hotel decor is amazing. Only downsides for us were the placement of the TV toward the bed instead of the sofa and not having a window. We would definitely stay there again but look for a room plan that provides those since both are important to us.
Very good
Horrible customer service!
When we arrived, the check in process was very slow. There was only one person in front of me, and I waited over 20 minutes. I would have not minded the wait if the check in clerk would have acknowledged me and informed me that the system was a little slow and that she would be with me as soon as she was done with her current customer. Also, her appearance was "unkept" and her clothes were unprofessional. During the check in process, the front desk clerk informed us that the rooms did not have blow dryers however, they were available upon request. I requested one, however we never received it, so I ended up going out with my hair wet. On the way out, I asked the same front desk clerk why I never received it, and she stated they were too busy. She offered to find one for me, but by then too much time had gone by and my husband was already frustrated because when we checked into our room there was a large puddle of water around the refrigerator approaching the bed. We informed the front desk and someone did come to mop it up. However, when I awoke in the morning my feel landed on a puddle of water. :-( . Lastly, the pillows were very flat. I awoke with a stiff neck. I mentioned all of the above to the front desk clerk and she mentioned she would let management know. She had absolutely no customer service skills and did not even apologize for all the inconveniences during my stay. By the way, it was the same front desk clerk that I spoke to during my stay. :-(
Need additional m/w rest rooms on lobby level.
Small rooms but very nice
Lots of restaurants and shops, close to the passenger terminals
Amazing!
Great location and loved the feel of the hotel.
Great atmosphere
Amazing stay, friendly staff, close to area restaurants, great walking distance to shops
Avg property great location
Room had no windows so kinda dark. Rooftop facilities were avg. shower had no hot water no matter how long you let it run!
Utterly Average
The bed was broken in a way that it sagged on one side. The room was tiny and the shower took forever to warm up. The AC unit is either too hot or too cold, and it’s hard to find a balance in between. I did appreciate how there were electrical outlets on both sides of the bed and a mini-fridge in the room. The hotel does have breakfast, for an additional cost. We did not eat at the hotel, since the “restaurant” was just a few tables by the elevator. The elevator was very slow and a little scary with the way it lurched into movement. We did notice that when it rained, rain would pool on the glass ceiling of the lobby by the elevator - misting the couches that we were sitting on (so maybe don’t sit there if you have a mold allergy. They looked fine, but I don’t see how they can get misted with water during reach rain and not have mold). Water would also run down the wall in the lobby by the leaking ceiling.
Excelente lugar y los emplados son muy amables.
Great location
Bathroom had black mold on ceiling, no desk phone in the room, restaurant was overpriced and the cuisine was average. Building needs a lot of maintenance work!
The property is beautiful!!
This is a fun and funky hotel in a great location for walking around Old San Juan. But it’s quirky. If you like quirky, you’ll be happy here. I was frustrated by the water in the room not getting very hot. On the other hand, the rooftop is a special place.

I did not stay there. I was able to get on the flight and tried to cancel but could not get ahold of anyone. when I did get to talk to someone after many attempts the told me I had to get ahold of someone at Expedia (who I booked it with) which was impossible. I purchased the cancellation insurance. I have reached out to my credit card company to dispute the charge. please help with this matter. thanks
