Great little hotel in a spectacular location. Nice friendly and knowledgeable staff family. Parking was easy considering we were inside the walls and what a treat to actually be inside the walls. Close to the Schloss so we were easily able to walk to our tour of the underground passages of the castle walls. ❤️ Nurnberg!

A great boutique hotel that fit in the area…. Was happy with our stay and would stay again

We enjoyed our stay here. The front desk attendant was so helpful giving us recommendations of where to visit and what to eat while we visited.

We loved the location! It was in the heart of old town and we could walk everywhere. The staff were warm and welcoming. We had a lovely stay at the Berghotel.

The desk staff was fabulous. Rene was so helpful and funny. The desk person the next morning was his mom, she was just as awesome. The location is so convenient to everything within old town. We did not have breakfast there but it did look really well stocked and good. I would definitely stay here again or highly recommend it.

Perfect mix of old and modern

This "old" family hotel is very modern. Never saw an elevator like that. The sauna was wonderful and the pool area cute although I didn't use the pool. Desk staff was extremely kind and helpful when i wasn't feeling well and the nearby parking worked out great. Lovely hotel so close to everythin!

This hotel is really all about location. The rooms are on the small side and maybe could be considered a bit dated, but they were clean and felt safe. What I did not expect was how great the service was, it is family-owned and run, and they obviously have a lot of pride in their place. The breakfast was well prepared and offered a wide variety of options. It was also very nice to have a pool and sauna after a long day of Christmas markets!

Marvellous in every respect. We’ve visited Nürnberg many times but this was our first time to stay in the Altstadt. It was the perfect location with wonderful staff, a lovely room and excellent breakfast. Highly recommended

Good location in old town near castle and Durer house. Rooms are older and could use some maintenance. Pretty spartan. Bed was not comfortable, pillow was silly thin, breakfast basic. Sauna was an unexpected comfort. Staff was friendly.

It took me a minute to figure out the parking situation, but it was easy. The hotel is very nice, and it is close to shopping and tons of restaurants.

Amazing location, great hotel

We stayed 2 nights. The area was great. Very easy to walk to local attractions. We walked to the hotel from the train station and glad we did. Nice to get a lay of the city as we headed to the hotel. Beds were good, not great. Room was very small, but I got what I expected. Very satisfied.

This property was exquisite. Well placed inside of the old city’s walls and next door from Im Keller you are never far from an incredible time. A short walk from the imperial castle and Sebalduskirche, this lovely hotel has a dedicated staff who will guide you to the very best Altstadt has to offer while providing a comfortable and inviting environment for you to spend your nights in. With breakfast, a pool, and a room minibar, the Burghotel in Nuremberg is the right place for the adventurer finding a relaxing vacation. Absolutely recommended.

Excellent location with safe parking near by, excellent service and wonderful breakfast

I loved this hotel. Since you arrive you feel like home and not in a hotel. Herr Schmidt is a great host and will quickly set you up with a map and a lot of suggestions to explore Nürnberg. Cleanliness was on point and rooms are cozy, the bed might give you the impression that is uncomfortable but once you go to bed, it’s really comfy. I didn’t have the chance to go to the sauna or the pool cause I’m not particularly into it but the fact that this hotel offers that, puts it on another level. This is my second time visiting Nürnberg, if life grants me another chance next year, I’d definitely stay at Burghotel.

Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. Great location near the square. Added bonus there was a music festival on. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Would definitely stop again.

What a gem! I am a bit reluctant to post such a shining review because I want to keep it a secret, but it deserves a shout out. Located just a short walk to the castle on a picturesque cobbled street, this is a lovely little hideaway. Check-in was prompt, staff so very friendly. (Thank you Sabine) The rooms were clean and comfortable. Pet peeve of mine is finding gunge in the corners or hair in the bathroom so I don't say this lightly - it was exceptionally clean. There is a pool and sauna on the lower level. We've stayed in the "fancier" hotels here and have to say we enjoyed this more. On top of it all was a very budget-friendly rate. Will return!

Wonderful location in the heart of the Altstadt. Most of places of interest are either within walking distance or a short ride on Nürnberg's efficient public transportation network. Breakfast is great, room is comfortable, staff is welcoming, a solid 5 stars.

Hotel had excellent location. I enjoyed clear instructions for parking and restaurants. However, the room needed a/c. There was construction right in front of the hotel and in the property located in the rear outside our window. Since we had to leave windows open, it was impossible to sleep after 6:30 AM. But it was a great stay overall.

Felt like home

I had a wonderful stay in this hotel,, felt like home,, very friendly and the location was amazing so close to all the sightseeing in town,, the pool and sauna was great after a long walk,, the breakfast was delicious and homey

A lovely little hotel in an ideal location in the old town north of the river. Lots of shops & restaurants within an east walk, U-Bahn about 10 minutes away. Very clean & friendly staff. Just make sure to confirm your arrival time & make check-in arrangements as they lock it up in the late afternoon so that you cannot enter without a key.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was small but comfortable. Parking was a short distance from hotel and had unlimited in and out permission. Parking is charged separately from room but was reasonably priced. Hotle is right in the Altstadt and walkable to all major sites.

We loved the location of this hotel. It was about a 15 min walk through old town to the train station which we enjoyed. It is a beautiful city. There were so many restaurants close by we had a hard time deciding where to eat. Our train was delayed so we arrived after the lobby closed at 3. They had placed our key in a lock box by the front door and emailed us the details on how to access it. The details for our stay were in the room for us. Extremely easy and convenient. We loved this city and would certainly look to stay here again for a future visit.

We loved almost everything about this hotel, its location a short stroll from the castle and many nice eating places, the pool and the sauna, and last but not least the excellent breakfast, the choice is so good that you just won't know what to eat first!

What an amazing find, this hotel was perfect! Good location for what we wanted. Staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Hotel itself was clean, traditional, and served a good breakfast. Swimming pool was an added bonus! We really enjoyed our stay with them 🙂

Great location--don't book here with a car however! Wheelchair accessible although the rooms are small. There is a place near the front desk where you can park it and walk to the elevator about 10 feet away. Super helpful front desk staff. NOTE: the staff leaves about noon, so do not have any problems after that time. Nice breakfast. Lumpy pillows.

Property is right in the middle of the old section of town, with picturesque streets, just a block or so from the castle on the city wall. Christmas Market was just down the street. Very friendly staff, and nice breakfast.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Burghotel, front desk was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area an gave us numerous good information about the town and surrounding area. Would definately stay there again. Very close to christmas market.

Burghotel was off the beaten path, yet easily accessible in a quiet location. We arrived by train and walked to the hotel in less than 15 minutes. The staff at this family run hotel is incredibly warm, welcoming & helpful. The rooms were functional and spotlessly clean. It is a true 3 star hotel - functional, basic --- but most importantly, CLEAN. Plenty of storage in the room for belongings. Would recommend and stay again.

We stayed at Burghotel Nürnberg for one evening on our tour throughout Bavaria. We picked it due to its centralized location, and we were incredibly happy with our choice. It is located just around the corner of the Albrecht Dürer house, Nürnberg castle, and walking distance of most places to visit in the Altstadt area. The hotel was clean, and the concierge was friendly and welcoming. We had a car, and while the hotel does not have its own lot, they give a discount for the car park located a few blocks away (€14.00/day). The room, while small, was good for what we needed, quiet, and included a nice tub to soak in after a cold day of walking around the Christmas markets. We did not take advantage of the breakfast offered at the hotel (€15). We would happily stay here again.

We didn’t have time to use the sauna but everything else was superb! I would highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel and staff have been great here. The rooms are kept very clean and housekeeping cleans the room promptly after I leave each day.

Great location to city square and shopping.

Weekend trip

Great location and parking wasn’t too bad. The beds, however; are terrible. They really aren’t comfortable. They reminded me of mattresses from a bunk house at a summer camp. When you are changing the amount you are and are located in an old town of a tourist city, you have to have nicer beds and pillows. The pillows were also very flat and uncomfortable. Invest in your hotel and purchase some mattresses that provide comfort after a day of sightseeing.

Lovely hotel in an ideal location. The young man at reception was absolutely charming, very helpful and infomative. The hotel is in a quiet street but very close to all the main sights in the old town. The room was very clean and comfortable although a little small and no aircon. Good wifi. Parking is one street down in a large garage with plenty of spaces. You can park in front of hotel to check in with luggage.

The place to stay for visiting Nurnberg, especially at Christmas time!

Warm and welcoming

Loved it here, the staff were so warm and welcoming! Definitely need to go back for the breakfast, I didn't manage to get to try everything - what an amazing spread!!

In the middle of old town near the Christmas market. Lots of places nearby to eat. Near the castle for sightseeing. Clean rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast. Had 2 rooms. Two people room was spacious for Europe. Three person rooms for adults kids was great as it was 2 stories with 2 sleeping areas and 2 bathrooms. Would definitely stay again. Cab from train station was only 12 Euros.

A Christmas Wonder

Staff is very friendly and attempts to assist in every way possible. Allowed early check in since I arrived earlier than scheduled check in. Breakfast is exceptional, with wide variety of choices. It is within walking distance of major points of interest and very quite area. I have nothing but praise for this hotel and staff. Would stay again without hesitation.

The location was perfect. I was suurouded by traditional german restaurants and architecture from the original town.

Property and location great, rooms are a bit small

Excellent property. Great location at the heart of old town within minutes away from the royal castle. Value for money. Very helpful staff. We paid for breakfast and it was perfect. If we travel to Nuremberg again we will stay in this hotel. Really enjoyed it.

I loved the location, so close to the Albrecht Durer house and good restaurants. Gorgeous altstadt! The friendly man at the desk gave us a map and good recommendations of what to see. We LOVED Nuremberg!

Nice location

This is a great hotel in a great location. Just remember to get home before they leave and lock the doors.

The furniture was great for storing our things. The discount rate on nearby parking was helpful. The dinning room was very attractive, The location was good for sight seeing in Old Town.

Excellent location in old town. You could walk everywhere and still find your way back. All staff (front desk, dining and housekeeping) were exceptional. They were kind, friendly, helpful, and resourceful. The breakfast was outstanding. Something for everyone and lots of homemade food. Our room was really nice. It was spacious and very comfortable. We would highly recommend Burghotel. There’s nothing we didn’t like.

Wonderful stay

This hotel is very comfortable, in an excellent location in the old town near the city walls, St. Sebaldus, and Albrecht Dürer house. There are a number of good restaurants nearby. The staff is also wonderful! One of our trip members had a medical emergency on the trip and the hotel very kindly accommodated us while we had to extend our trip for a few days.

Staff friendly and helpful. Room was bright and appeared to be newly renovated. Breakfast was excellent. In nice quiet area.

VERY POOR INTERNET...totally unacceptable..its a essential service like electricity or water and absence of it negate all good and leaves a bad taste

We didn't have wifi in the room, which didn't bother me too much but should be noted. And the guests on our floor were very loud, very late, and the walls are thin. But I can't fault the hotel for that. Otherwise, our rooms were large, comfortable, clean, and quiet. Excellent location, with parking a few streets over.

Located within the old town walls, it is an excellent placed to stay.

Comfortable bed and room. No aircon but a fan was supplied. Clean. Breakfast good. Quiet. Check in staff lovely. Pool nice, albiet in in odd location in basement, but was good to refresh in after heat of day. Good value for money
