quiet location but easy walking distance to town

we checked in during Christmas period, the hotel was closed and not staffed, but the staff had kindly kept us informed and notified us a couple of days ahead the instruction how to retrieve the key to the room, which is very helpful. And Luke was very responsive when I asked about the hotel wifi, which didn't work for us unfortunately, as we couldn't log on.

A nice place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff were nice. The attached hotel is conveniently located. A walk down the same street takes you to centre of Bendigo. The hotel has an outdoor seating area. We didn't eat there but meals looked good. Motel room was lovely and well maintained. Roomy with a good sized bathroom. All usual facilities including fridge, microwave, jug, cups and tea/coffee. My one complaint is when I booked via Hotels.com, the price I clicked on to book is not what was charged to my credit card. The details on the website state the motel charges a credit card surcharge. That's fine. However, it should be added to the amount i am agreeing to pay at the time. I have booked in excess of 100 nights on Hotels. Com and this has NEVER happened before. Plus the credit card surcharge was 2.55%. These charges are supposed to be a maximum of 1.5% on a Visa card.

Upon entering my room, I was immediately struck by the amount of dust that had accumulated on various surfaces. It seemed as though the room hadn't been properly cleaned in quite some time. The presence of spider webs in the corners added to the overall neglected feel of the space. The carpet had a distinct damp smell, which made the entire room feel uninviting. It was clear that there had been some moisture issues, and this contributed to an uncomfortable atmosphere. A fresh, clean scent is always expected in a motel, and this odor detracted significantly from my stay.

Clean room, check out at 10.00 was too early as the hotel didnt open until 11.00 for decent coffee

Book under the impression that you could fit 4 people. Unlike a normal motel room, this room had a dodgy sofa bed, that when extend blocked the door in addition to being highly uncomfortable. Perfectly fine property for 2 people, but would avoid for any more. Great location though.

Thought we had booked a room with 3 beds but the kids had to sleep on a pull out sofa bed. It was average for the cost.

We found the hotel to nice. More a 3 star than 4 half. Very clean, friendly staff. We had a issue with the aircon and they were quick at helping us and moved us to a new room.

Great location, easy walking distance to the train station, shops and dining. Great for an extended family stay, with kitchenette, lounge and two bedrooms. We will be back 😊

Prepare to be WOW’D! We booked the 2 bed unit for our family and it was everything we could have hoped for and more. From the moment we met the check in staff to the moment we checked out, everything was WOW! Beyond expectations doesn’t cut it. The staff were amazing and very accommodating, parking was exceptionally easy and convenient. The unit itself was outstanding. Very roomy and well appointed, everything you need is within hands reach. The motel is clean and family friendly and within walking distance to the city centre. We loved our stay and will definitely be back next time we are in town!

Easy walk from Bendigo railway station - smooth check-in, food options available all day. Close to Coles - room had a microwave. Free WIFI and parking. Close to central Bendigo. During Winter it would be nice to have an electric blanket on bed - synthetic blanket provided in cupboard. Floor tiles in bathroom very cold - bring slippers. Tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits, crockery (no bowls) and limited cutlery. Bring own bottle opener. Will definitely be staying there again!!!

I had a great stay - friendly staff and great food at the restaurant.

The room was far smaller than expected. Too small for 4 adults to stay. The room stunk of tobacco smoke. The door couldn’t open properly once the sofa bed was set up. The sofa bed was exceptionally uncomfortable with springs digging in to you. The heater wasn’t working and we had to get staff to help with it, to which they said they’ve had trouble with the heater for weeks. There weren’t enough crockery and cutlery or milk and coffee for 4 people. 2 plates and 3 mugs. The sports bar really stinks of tobacco too. The staff were friendly though.

Nice decor, nice new bathroom

The bedroom, bathroom decor and even crockery was colour coordinated and streamlined. Newly renovated bathroom with floor to ceiling tiles and large bathroom sink benchtop with convenient double power points. Could do with better hangers and washing detergent. I liked the good sized bowls. The light switch on door frame where the sliding door would bash into it was an odd placement. Everything was clean except for the heater remote control which could do with a clean between guests. If guests are very loud in adjoining rooms you will hear them. But overall it was a pleasant stay, convenient parking, single storey place so no need to lug things up flights of stairs and things were clean.

Convenient location quite near railway station and easy walk to town centre and art gallery. The room was basic but clean and very quiet. The hotel bistro had great food. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at the property again.

Friendly & helpful staff, nice room, tiny fridge

The staff are friendly and will do their best to help if needed. The room was very nice, clean, well presented and comfortable (a few cobwebs up high that need to be removed). Large bathroom with all the basics included. Easy parking. Fantastic having a microwave in the room. The fridge was the smallest imaginable with the tiniest freezer space. We put a couple of ice creams in before dinner but they'd melted totally within a few hours. The staff were happy to freeze our freezer bricks for us overnight - much appreciated. Great location close to the central town area.

Tv remote wasn't working. Pillows were terrible....

We never got an opportunity to avail ourselves of all that would normally be possible, due to being Christmas New Year Holiday Period. However our room, was very clean, received fresh Towels and Fridge topped up. Will definitely return!

Walking distance to train station if you travel via V Line,otherwise there is a free car park in front of your room. shops and many local attractions are within walking distance too.The restaurant next door served good quality and delicious foods.

The unit we booked was immaculately clean, beds comfortable and great bathroom. The most impressive thing was the hotel itself, we had several meals there and they were all very good quality. The staff were excellent, very helpful,friendly and respectful. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Good location within easy driving distance to CBD. Rooms are nicely decorated. More signage for the reception area would be useful once you get into the bar area as it's tucked away in a corner and isn't very obvious.

What a little beauty of a motel/pub! Beautifully appointed with everything you need. Very clean and renovated with style! Next to an on-site pub that has it all and the best meal I have ever had! Friendly welcoming owners and staff. Wish we could of stayed another night.

Loved the location. Loved the bistro. Didn’t like the “kitchen” setup in my room as couldn’t see the microwave buttons. Had trouble with the wifi so used my iPhone the entire time.

It was a comfortable stay, but there was some noise from the pub kitchen opposite us. It was an easy walk to the city center and train station too.

The staff were hospitable and friendly, spent one night here and was pleased with the accommodation. For the price, the facility was good enough; TV, Free WiFi, Kettle etc., Air Cond + Fan and Bathroom all good, Luxury Bedding and very comfortable. Hotel building a little dated but delivers everything required for a carefree stay. I also liked the fact you could open the window which allowed fresh air in the room - if you did not want to use the air cond. Good Value for the price. Would stay again.

I was a little disappointed that although the name of the facility as per advertised web site was Brougham Arms Hotel, the actual facility is that of a Motel standard ...... ie: lower. For example: when we enquired about tissue availability in the room, we were told that this is NOT provided, etc... We were also expected to have breakfast available in the restaurant in the morning (as one would expect for a Hotel), but was a little disappointed to find that the restaurant was closed and not expect to open until 11.00am.... Anyway, the room was clean and staff was most helpful. Price was good for the location.

I found the air conditioning was cold & kept turning off. It was a poorly lit room I could hardly see to read. The bathroom was lovely

The staff were very accommodating and the rooms were clean. The bathrooms could have had screens to stop the mosquitos and fly's from visiting. Walking distance to and from CBD, quiet location.

A pleasant hotel, close to the Bendigo Swap meet. Good for a night's stay. Bar facities good with bistro and bar meals. Steak meal a great size.
