The location is great, the hotel is clean, the staff is awesome. The hotel’s restaurant is really good!
This hotel has NO HEAT! We booked a seven night stay in late December and it was cold, one night it was 48 degrees but there is NO HEAT in this hotel. We were first told that it would be turned on later, then we were told that it was broken, then another employee said they were out of gas and finally the last night we asked, we were told that it was a central heating system for the entire hotel and that they don't provide heat. We asked for additional blankets after the first night which were provided but when we asked for a portable heater, they said they didn't have any. In addition, when we checked in, we were charged an additional 11 dollars a night because when I booked the reservation, I didn't add the second name even though the Expedia rules say the "base rate" is for two people. However, if you book another reservation and add a second name, there is NO increase in price. I didn't sleep well for the entire stay and we would have moved but it was over New Year's Eve and we couldn't find anything that was available. AVOID THIS PROPERTY!
The hotel was great. Nothing super fancy, but the beds were comfortable, the housekeeping was daily. The onsite restaurant was there if you needed it. But the location was great, just two blocks from the 7 Line and the Reforma. The neighborhood seemed safe with muliple convience stores around.
The bathrooms need work. The faucets cannot be closed, you can't regulate the shower flowand the shower stall overflows onto the bathroom floor. The same is true of the sink
Un lugar muy comodo y centrico para una caminata nocturna.
Time Capsule
Time Capsule from its founding 53 years ago … but extremely well maintained
Nothing
Good
Nice
- Towels : Stained - AC is NOT an AC. It’s simply a fan. - Old moquette and rusted shower head with really low water pressure. - Main reception Staff was rude. After a long stay, I expected some respect and dignitiy. Instead, I was called 15 minutes before checkout time and told that “ I have to leave the room now” and then staff shut the phone on me. Really disrespectful. Room Card repeatedly would get locked out and not read. This is not really a four- star hotel.
There was an insect in the sink when I arrived to the room, and the rectangular table was broken (the top part could be easy moved out of its place). As for the rest everything was in good conditions.
Un hotel muy clásico y precioso dentro de la zona. El staff es muy amable y en todo momento fueron atentos a pesar de la corta estadía! Me volvería a quedar ❤️
The hotel floors at the rooms look very dirty with carpet and walls just doesn't have the appeal for the price. My room had a broken faucet handle and the room looked bland for $200 per night. Might as well stayed in a Days Inn
Un lugar apropiado para quedarse.
Muy buena opción cerca de las areas céntricas de l Ciudad de Mexico
Nice place to stay has everything around
Bien pero los cuartos algo pequeños y viejos a comparación de las fotos
.
Only problem was no heat in room and quite chilly. Fully recommend any one choosing a hotel in Mexico City.
Great place. Always stay here when in Mexico City. One negative note the internet could be better and stronger. Also an enormous benefit which I can never find in México would be a Jacuzzi. If they had that it would be Heaven.
No ac, beds are tiny, you can't open the windows, really old!!! Towels are transparent, bad quality....I guess you get what you pay. I won't recommend to anyone 😔
Staff very courteous. But. Door handle malfunction. And the key card. Haad to be reprogrammed 4 times. Also the air did not work and the bathroom door did not close all the way. Made the coment to the front desk attendant and asked him :can you do anything for the inconvenience. And he say NO
nice
Good
Todo
They need to clean the room , it was so dusty
It has an excellent location, 5 minutes from Reforma Avenue and the price is unbeatable.
Very ordinary people and very reasonable prices
The only problem was that staff started knocking the door at 9 am several times they even tried to open the door
🙂
The location is perfect and the cost is very affordable
Great location
Everything was good except for the fact that there is no Air Conditioning control on the room. If you are hot take a cool shower.
Comfortable stay.
Decent hotel for the price. Felt very safe and secure. Room was a little small but worked fine for my stay. Staff was very friendly. Spoke multiple y
great location, just sleep over
Nice clean and quiet
limpieza muy bien solo fallo elevadores, aire acondicionado y en una habitacion las camas muy fragiles, el resto super bien,
The first day the air conditioning was not working
The window to my room would not lock and stay shut. It was on the first floor. Anyone could have entered my room at any time. When I told the front desk they blew it off.
Nice little hotel thats walking distance to Angel de la Independencia. Slightly outdated but great for the value. The area is extremely quiet and safe. Would return again if given the opportunity
Location is good. Hotel is old. AC didn’t work on second night!
The service was amazing from check-in to porter and restaurant staff. Highly recommend
Great value
Third time staying at Hotel Bristol and will return again. Great value. Not particularly fancy or up to date, but does what it does extremely well.
Clean, safe and inexpensive... Can't ask for anything more...
Great Location
Great service from the staff. The location of the hotel is great near to Reforma Avenue and other tourist attractions
This place is nice and comfortable.
Satisfied
👍
Try it, it is confortable.
The rooms are very clean every day. The frint desk help is also good, the place is quit, surprisingly in a nouse city. The rooms are a bit cold at night though, was toñd that the heat was not working.
Close to the US Embassy
It was great, because the hotel is really close to the US Embassy, we just need to walk for 3 min.
International visitors might want to avoid this hotel - not only the staffs have problems communicating in English, one of the receptionist was actually looks annoyed that I can't speak Spanish. The AC / air conditioning only have on/off & fan speed button - you can't set the temperature. Quite useless. The bathtub is clogged, tried to unclog it, but it won't open No kettle, so no hot water for your coffee/tea No slipper/sandal, so bring your own. There's no lock on the toilet door, so always be mindful before you open the toilet door. The hotel & room looks old, but I actually like this, it feels familiar & comfy.
Check in was a disaster, old hotel and don’t worth the money. Never return.
Good but old Need re-newal asap, bathroom furniture!!! And beds
Reception SOOOO lazy and slow. Cleaning team actually pretty good.
ME GUSTÓ LA UBICACION, CAMINANDO ESTA TODO CERCA Y QUE CUENTA CON ESTACIONAMIENTO
the bristol hotel have and a good location not on a busy street but walking distance to el Angel and the mail street. the personel is very helpfull and very accessiible to taxis
The Bristol is not fancy but location is great the Bristol is great just for sleeping , taxis at the door staff is very helpful
Flight got delayed went back they don’t charge a arm or a leg. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
The only thing I did not like, is the fan is way to noise at night.
I am glad that i gave it the benefit of the doubt due to some negative reviews! Check in and check out was super easy, Housekeeping was on point with the cleaning of the room or just checking if we need anything. The hotel is not far at all from the statue of angel in which is more beautiful at night. Facility itself was clean elevators were working properly only thing is that they close extremely quick but other than that i was amazed by the stay you have a bunch of things around the area starbucks is a few mins away many many options. My stay was amazing i recommend it to everyone coming to mexico city this would be my first choice if coming back to mexico city.
Great
Beautiful area
Me he hospedado varías veces ya que es muy conveniente y sabes que esperar. Esta vez al igual que las anteriores tuve una estancia placentera y todo excelente con excepción del internet que no llegaba a la habitación pero súper contento y me volvería a quedar sin dudas
.
Average Hotel, it's what it is. On this price range you almost know what to expect. You can tell it is an old building that has not been renovated in a while. Wifi did not work, but on the plus side the location is very good, walkable area full of restaurants and things to do.
This had to be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Out of the 2 elevators only one “worked.” From the 4th floor, only the UP button worked. We had to take the stairs and it was a horrifying experience. I have a child and an elderly father and they had no handrails. They had to hold on to the wall to walk down. Making matters worse, at each level, the floors were full of trash. Then the fire alarm on our floor kept beeping because it needed a new battery. My dad reported it, but was ignored. The walls in the room were cracking all over. Half the lights in the hallway did not work. I have photos of all this but I guess you can’t add photos to the review.
They gave us twin bed even though We booked in for Double bed.
Ive been coming here for 30 years. Its like stepping back in time when people care about their jobs, the physical space feels comfortable/at home not 'fake luxury' .From the front desk, to the restaurant to the maintenance staff...they care about their jobs and their customers. And it's in a real neighborhood. It is, thank god, the opposite of Zona Rosa.
There was roaches in the room, missing items like an iron. Staff threw away my shampoo bottle and body wash. Room was hot. Elevator took forever to come. The staff were really nice nonetheless.
Great service.
Walkable to the USA embassy in Mexico city
Great location, low price, shabby rooms.
Great location and surrounding neighborhood.
I was there for 15 days. Didn’t like that they don’t have instant coffee maker/mini fridge inside the room. The shower clogs up when showering. They charged me 160 bucks for 2 loads of clothes to wash pretty ridiculous. Convenient hotel local spots to eat it was ok can’t complain.
property is worn out and needs serious cleaning and updating. dirty elevators. room and hallway carpets are worn out elevators are old and malfunctioning
I have stayed here multiple times (maybe 6) and the fact I have stayed so many times is the best review. Staff is always friendly, location is relatively quiet, and the area is real nice.
The hotel was close to a major street and easily accessible. There are great restaurants within walking distance.
Excellent location
Very clean
Excellent location to Most central Mexico City attractions and very accesible to MEX Intl Aiport and Bus stations
Great location
The Bristol is in a brilliant location near bus and metro links to other parts of the city as well as to many bars and restaurants. The room was nice and spacious and kept immaculately clean. Unfortunately the Wi-Fi does not work very well in the rooms so we needed to go near to the door to get a signal, or go into the hall as we saw others doing. There seemed to be a lack of reception staff so it could take a while to speak to one of them and when we did their English wasn’t great. However, all in all we very much enjoyed our stay here and would stay again, especially if they improved the Wi-Fi.
The only thing that Ivwill like is that the rooms can have servibar and coffee maker to use.
Water in the shower and sink, baked up.
Front desk service is poor Took 6 minutes for someone to come to front desk for check-in The next day my room key wasn't working and the front desk employee was having a personal conversation for 5 minutes at the side of the counter talking to a friend and he did see me waiting but made me wait until he was done before he assisted me The hotel itself is descent and the location is good but I was shocked by the unprofessionalism of the front desk. I felt i was inconviencing them with both checking in and getting a room key so I could access my room
Excellent location, clean and good price.
Good service, restaurant food was OK and it was open from very early in the morning to late in the night.
The location of this facility is very good but the bed is a little old so it makes a noise from mattress's springs.
I certainly consider to make reservations for our stay again.
Room was well cleaned, slightly awkward layout, a few stains in the carpet, but it felt sanitary and quite comfortable. Would gladly stay again.
Bristol hotel is a traditional hotel with Some European flair but in a much needed renovation to return to its grandeur Marbol barhs marbel tap forniture good a/c larger comfortable rooms and bathrooms but dated carpets and very small tv no coffee /tea facilitys In all i had good restful stay
Disappointing conditions of the hotel. Pros: early and easy check in, the location is excellent, two blocks from Ángel and Av. Reforma, and many places to eat, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Cons: Very old and dirty furniture I had to call the housekeeper since the pillowcases were stained, they smelled ugly, torn and very old, it seems that these pillows have not been changed and washed for years, the bed and bathroom linens In general everything is very old and I found hair from other people on both the blankets and the towels, the mattresses and pillows were super hard, the shower smelled bad and in very bad condition, water stagnated and I found cockroaches in the bathroom, the second day I asked for clean towels and two blankets but they didn't have them ! they are very limited. First night was very quiet but my last two nights a lot of noise from others rooms.
Staff
Pretty mid. Wifi does not work, they really dont care. Also they use the shortest shower curtains? Everything gets filled with water when taking a shower. Nice hot water and water pressure though. If its for a quick stay, and you dont need wifi to communicate then it's alright
My reservation wasn’t ready when I arrived and I had to wait for a while so they could find my reservation. It wasn’t a quick check in for me, I gave them my Expedia itinerary number but they couldn’t use that information. After a good 15min they were able to check me in.
Staff very helpful and pleasant. Has a restaurant attached which is not too bad. Rooms are clean. Just dated.
Location is great, staff was great, A/C is not turned on during fall and winter time, beds are very uncomfortable, pillows are stiff your neck would hurt the next day.
Inexpensive, but very good, clean, convenient hotel. Two blocks from Reforma. Safe area.
They get in my room and steel $200 dollars from by bag
The front desk looks clean and the staff is nice. The restaurant the nice, clean and the staff is very polite.

Real Home away from Home
The Hotel Bristol has been in operation for 53 years, and I haven't yet found a staff person who has been here less than 20 years. This is one of those increasingly rara institutions where the owners are clearly doing something right. The hotel is nearly always close to full; and though the rooms are dated, everything is meticulously maintained, and you really feels like you're entering an extension of your own home.
