Rude staff, late to give me my room

Beautiful Room

Booked a Tower Suite which turned out to be an exceptional choice - very spacious, with two large rooms, two full bathrooms, nice view of the old town, beautifully furnished and decorated, exceptionally clean and well maintained. Has a "wow" factor - not disappointed. A bit of construction in the immediate area currently but nothing to disrupt our stay

Great location, lots of places to walk to and places to eat. Only negative was there was some construction going on but other then that great place to stay.

Downfall of a once great hotel - Now not so much!

Our visit was in one world Terrible! When in Zurich we always stay here, as this is our favorite hotel. But this time around it was one of our worst experiences in any hotel world wide. The light didn't turn off in the room (THE STAFF KNEW ABOUT IT AND DID NOTHING). The noise from construction outside the window was horrible (Why weren't we warned about it prior to our arrival). We as Platinum members are entitled to a free upgrade when available, but the staff said they do not give upgrades to Expedia/Hotels.com member (which is completely false). All in all we were surprised how bad our stay was and how little the staff reacted to our concerns. I do hope this will change in the future, but for now, we will not take the chance to stay here again.

Not so great

When I used my reservation number in the system I did not recognize it so it scared me that they did not have the reservation. It turned out that hey did. On condition, the bathroom door paint was pealing and the pod coffee machine water door was broken. Could not figure out how to completely turn off the lights. The room was too hot and no way to control it. We kept the window open but it was annoying due to the noise until 12 AM. Pillows were feather but were worn to the point that they were flat. The folded them in half to accommodate the issue. Overall we liked the hotel and staff but not good enough I justify the cost of 250 franks

Great place in old Town, loved the area, location was perfect and was as advertised. Really like the family owned business and was a really nice property

Zurich for New Years

Perfect location for walking to shops, restaurants and bars. I called the week before our arrival and asked for restaurant recommendations for New Years Eve and the front desk referred us to the Brassiere Louis (connected to the hotel) which was lacking in service and more than twice what other restaurants charged for an evening meal. Disappointed that they stated they had Airport Transfer but we were charge $75.00 for a 15 minute ride -- taxi service would have only been $25.00

I loved the area around the hotel super walkable with lots of restaurants and shops. There was a small Christmas market in front of the hotel. Eve thing was clean. The room needs a little renovation but overall a good stay.

We stayed at the owners suite. It was beautiful and has plenty of space. The hotel was at an excellent location, very walkable and close to everything worth seeing. We would stay here again.

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at this hotel. It was very clean, modern, with friendly and helpful staff, and had a great view of the market below from our room. Lots of surrounding shops and restaurants were within close walking distance. We would highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel was amazing for our two night stay in Zurich. There was a little Christmas markets outside the hotel and plenty of restaurants and shops around. It’s also only a 10 minute walk from Zurich HB All the staff members were amazing, kind and provided plenty of tips to maximize your stay in Zurich

Nice hotel with fabulous location. Easy walk to shops, restaurants, train station, etc. Staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was fabulous. Good breakfast selection. Would choose this hotel again if in the area.

This is a lovely property. Make sure You take advantage of the terrace. Grab a hunk of cheese some bread and a bottle of wine and enjoy this lovely spot.

The room is very clean and the bed is comfortable. Staff are friedly and the breakfast is great. Convenient location close to restaurants, shops and public transportation.

The property was within walking distance to the train station The staff were very kind and hospitable. They were always accessible and responded quickly to our requests. The room was clean but the heating and cooling system was a portable unit that was noisy and didn’t work very well. Our breakfast was included in our rate and was very good, fresh fruit and breads, eggs, cheeses and meats. Once again I must praise the staff, they were exceptional!

The Property was in an Excellent location staff very helpful only thing i didn’t like was shower, and most of all no central AC there is a unit in the room but the sound was loud

Delightful place

Great, helpful staff. Very good complimentary breakfast. Free coffee(when a cup is $5-$10 each elsewhere locally, this is huge for a caffeine addicted American)! Room was nice even if it was a bit dated. Highly recommend!

Nice little boutique hotel. Location is perfect - near lots of cute stores and restaurants. Rooms are small, but well-appointed and plenty of storage for clothes. Cute terrace area as well as a nice lobby area that offers free coffee and water. My only complaint is that there was black mold in my shower, but that seems like an easy fix.

Very good experience no complains at all

Terrible experience! The lights were on all night impossible to turn off- the AC system that was taped in the window came off in the middle night so AC all night. Nothing was done by the hotel to address these issues. Do not stay at this hotel.

The hotel is pretty nice and clean, close to old town, shopping and dining. The only downside is that the room I booked was supposed to have an AC but when we got to the room, there was only a fan. That’s just false advertising and room rate should be lower.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Some issues with AC unit throughout stay, changed out by staff promptly.

A Room to Remember in Zurich

Our room was for three people had two separate rooms with its own bathrooms. The designs of each rooms including the bathrooms were amazing and very chic. We received an assortment of fruits in a bowl. We wished we stayed longer as it also came with playstation console and games and a huge sound system. Plus the hotel is in the heart of Zurich’s old town.

Great location The air conditioning was not working, our room was very hot. The hotel was not helpful. They gave us a standing fan when I asked for it but overall very uncomfortable especially in this summer weather

Katerina at the front desk was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! She was so kind and helpful. I cannot say enough about her and also the bellman. I didn't get his name but he was a gem too. The actual rooms are fine but they could use some fresh paint and such. Location was fabulous.

Wonderful breakfast; Superb location

With computer issues with most airlines, our flights were delayed and re-booked with extensive layovers in London. After over 36 hour of traveling, Natalie at the front desk offered us comfort and a smile as well as essentials, since we only had the clothes on our backs. Breakfast the next morning reminded us us of the comforts at home in Dallas, Texas since we eat so healthy. 👏 Great job! Maria. Plano Texas

Friendly staff

Breakfast included and very clean. Extra bed was uncomfortable, though.

This hotel was amazing. My group was so happy with the staff and all their help that they offered during our stay. The hotel is a couple steps away from so many restaurants and shops. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends.

The Staff Was Fantastic!

We love the location pf this hotel.

The undersized portable air conditioner failed 4 times upon our arrival day and every 90 minutes which required and employee emptying the water overflow tank Needless to say we did not sleep They replaced the unit for the second night but offered no reduction for the inconvenience and constant disturbance. If you advertise air conditioning you should provide it (by the way the new unit never got below 23C) Poor inconsiderate management

The room had an extremely loud, portable A/C unit and we barely slept during the night. The bathroom had a little mold and the sewage smelled bad. Finally, the room decoration and furniture did not really match the ones in the pictures. On a positive note, the location was perfect and staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful - the location superb.

Great location near everything in downtown Zurich. With zone 110 24hr sbb ticket we took the boats and all city transit for 24 hr. Hotel is clean, friendly staff, great breakfast. Only issue is room AC, unit does not really work well so its better with open windows for cool night air.

Good hotel for the price

By far the best hotel we experienced in our recent vacation. Excellent service and superior rooms and the breakfast options were REMARKABLE!!

Wonderful stay at Hotel Wellenberg! Excellent location close to all the sights in Zurich. Attentive and kind staff with good local recommendations. The free breakfast was very filling and had a great variety. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to Zurich and wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Hotel Wellenberg is perfectly situated in a gorgeous little square. There's interesting and diverse music every evening in the square. Here, all the tourists come out to listen and the tourists are from all over the world, so you get auditory and visual delights. Many restaurants close and the river is less than 2 blocks away. Clean rooms, elevators, super friendly staff, and a special library/coffee bar join to make this hotel a superb experience. You can get a delicious breakfast every day, and although the choices are limited, the food is great. There is no restaurant for lunch or dinner- you're on your own for that. I will come again in the future!

It was right downtown in the middle of a cute square with a bunch of restaurants and shops. Staff was fantastic!

This property is in a good location and accessible to lots of shops and restaurants. Downfall is that it considers itself a 4 star hotel but is a 3 star at best. Hotel is lacking update. The AC unit did not work and we advised a staff whom told us they all work the same. Our room temp stayed at 24 degree the entire time. Best part of the hotel is the breakfast, it is fresh and service in there was wonderful.

AC units are loud and don’t work very good. Breakfast was delicious and location was good.

This was supposed to be a hotels.com VIP property but it was noticeably lacking.

Considering it was renovated in 2021, the bathroom still looked dated. Felt like because we did not book directly with hotel they but us in a less than ideal room. Room was directly in front of elevator (4 ft away) and beside breakfast dining entrance ( 4 ft away). When asked if it would be noisy in morning being beside dinning, reception staff just said “depends on your tolerance”. Reception staff when we arrived was not very friendly, but the other staff the rest of our stay were nice.

Wonderful stay in a very interesting location.

Our room was marvellous. We were on the second floor so could sit out on the breakfast terrace for breakfast and also later in the afternoon. Our room was comfortable and the staff were amazing.

Stay away if you want to rest and be comfortable.

Ten years ago, I made mistake when booking a hotel in Venice, Italy when I didn't verify if the hotel booked had air conditioner, that was my fault. Since then, I make sure that every hotel I stay in has air conditioner, because it's my choice if I turn it on of off, because its my comfort. Listing is wrong and deceptive when they advertise air conditioner as an amenity, but you can't turn it on because "it's not summer". If I had known I would not stay in this hotel. No, night was not cool enough. No, I should not have the need to open windows and curtains for some air. When I opened the windows every single noise from the street and church bells disrupt my sleep. Room 201 has a neon sign across the street that made it hard to sleep because I needed curtains and windows open for the air. Breakfast personnel is very loud (next to room 201) clacking dishes and shouting "Good Morning" to everyone that entered, while I was trying to get some rest next door. Hotel is not suitable for people who want to rest. I feel cheated by this listing, and they didn't even tried to make things right, I just got an email from manager telling me: "We are always trying to improve our guest experience."

Staff was very friendly. The room was tiny. The shower was tiny. The church bells and drunk people singing all night made it hard to sleep. I can put up with everything above, the price tag is what unbelievably ridiculous at over $1,200 USD for the one night (I was expecting a 5-Star experience and it was 2 to 3 at best.

The hotel was lovely and the room clean and had all you would need. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Great hotel for central Zurich.

One nighter

Quick one night, great service and the room was spotless and so very spacious and comfortable!

We had a great stay at the Wellenberg Hotel! It was very clean and accommodating, and the location was excellent. The staff was also very friendly, and we'd especially like to thank Thana on the breakfast team, who was so friendly and gave us some great tips about things to see and do!

I am so happy with our stay at Hotel Wellenberg. The staff was so kind, welcoming and professional. We stayed in the Tower Suite and our girls had a traditional room. The suite was incredible, beautifully appointed and comfortable, and the smaller room was also extremely well put together and functional. The breakfast was so much more than we expected and the staff in charge of the breakfast was very welcoming and friendly! The location felt convenient to everything. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Zurich.

This property was everything I needed for my vacation, the staff was very professional and helpful as well as pleasant. The location was so nice( despite the construction) going on outside the hotel, it was the ideal location for me and my family. Again, the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable of all my questions. I truly enjoyed that we were in close proximity to everything we needed.

Rug and shower was dirty

I traveled with family and we love this hotel. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping! I highly recommend!

We encountered a few hiccups with our room upon check-in, but the manager of the hotel and his assistant went above and beyond to fix the issues and ensure the rest of the stay was amazing. Great location, and beautiful hotel. Would definitely stay again if we get back to Zurich.
