Wonderful
This was my third stay here at this wonderful oasis. Managers Javier & Israel made sure I had everything I needed and are very professional & solicitous. Staff personnel including Osman, Kendal, Allen & Wilmer are most gracious with their hospitality. The meals here, especially breakfast, are terrific with fruit and sides generally locally sourced. A wonderful place to escape from the a hectic world, or a long day at Tikal. Be sure to try the kayaks and the newly added little paddle boat - great fun ! Then, take a dip in the wonderful pool. I intend on returning again for another relaxing stay. Five stars award from me. - Tio Bob -
Good
Gorgeous property: the architecture, rooms, patio restaraunt, pool. Superb staff, always friendly and very helpful.
I love this place
Excellent
Bolontiku was very cozy, kids friendly, water sports great and the food and staff excellent
Beautiful, clean, restful, and attentive staff.
Awesome property!
A very nice and peaceful experience
Un fin de Semana largo y familiar muy agradable. Hotel y personal todo muy bien, quiza el servicio de restaurante un poco lento pero en general todo fabuloso. Gracias a todo el equipo de Bolontiku
Very Remote but the environment is beautiful!! The staff was super kind and accommodating. The only thing I didn’t care for was the boat fee to the resort. The hotel will charge if it’s not within their scheduled pick up and drop off time. $25 person one way. Other than that it’s beautiful.
Excelent
Limited dining, the food was not good
Great experience, wonderful organization, fantastic service, beautiful room
I never in my life gave a bad review to anyone I booked 6 nights at this hotel travel for 1 month in Guatemala < best country in the world >. so this part of my trip was the relax chill part hotel was under construction so pool area can't be used they offer me free massage I arrive to the USA and find out that they billed me for it after they sent me WhatsApp that is free because of the noise and constaction on top of this when I was on a tour they called me to let me know they need my room and put me in different room without my OK all my clean stuff mixed with my dirty things as of this moment they don't correct my bill after I reach out to them few times and seems to not care of this won't be surprise to hear of other being over charged to be honest for the price you pay look at other option also be aware they charge $25 per person if you use the boat to get into Flores free time is 7am and 1pm going and return is 5.30pm so you can end up paying lots of money if you there for few days. so keep in mind I had no idea about this enjoy Guatemala
I never give a bad review but this property was so promising and some of the staff and the room along with room facilities were just so disappointing! First of all lets talk about the positives, you get picked up from Flores on a lovely boat that takes you across the bond to the hotel, as you get off the boat, they give you a drink, the check in area is near a bar and restaurant everything seems dreamy! Then you start to check in. the people at the check in desk photo copy your credit card along with your ID, they will have that on record forever now. I hope that's kept somewhere safe! Secondly I asked at checkin "where we can get our guide to pick us from to visit Tikal?" the front desk employees frowned and became hostile to say the least, they said: "you can use our guided tours" now their guided tour for one day costs close to $700 that's more than double than anyone else I spoke to charges. So I said I would rather use the guide I have, they said, well you have to find your own way as the travel agencies will not find this property! almost sounded like a joke. they were so hostile and rude from this point onwards it was almost comical. I told them that I am using a travel agency that was actually recommended by this hotel when I rang then up weeks ago, the woman at check in started to load the WhatsApp conversation and accessed me of lying. After that wonderful interaction, we went up to our room, the room had no phone or internet!
Great option
Excelente opción de hotel. El servicio en general muy bueno, la comida excelente. El menu es poco variado pero lo que teienen de muy buena calidad. La villa deluxe excelente opción para viaje en familia.
The quiet and the staff
Best hotel in the area!
Amazing spa resort! Very friendly staff. Great food. And even better views!
Room and bathroom was amazing!
The details of the property were excellent. The food and service was fantastic. I hope to come back for another visit in the future. Thank you
This hotel is located in the middle of the jungle just across the lake from Flores. The view from my room was amazing. I would recommend booking a guided tour through Tikal, I used the agency through the hotel (guide was Mr. Lopez), he speaks English and Spanish..very knowledgeable. I would recommend visiting the local zoo and Arcas (Animal rehabilitation center) I saw a Puma and Jaguars up close. Overall, it was a great trip and a great hotel.
This hotel is one of my favorites. The scenery is beautiful, the rooms are fantastic and the service was top notch. I cannot wait to be back and share this wonderful part of Guatemala with my friends and family.
It is one of the most beautiful spot in this wonderful country.
Bolontiku is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in, the service, the amenities, the room everything is incredible. Make your trip worth it and stay with them, Osman is very hardworking and friendly, anything you need the whole team will go above and beyond for you.
Great location to feel immersed in the jungle surrounding you, Great Lake views from most of the rooms, friendly staff, great food, a bit overpriced in terms of breakfast, lunch and dinner, especially since you don't have any other option to eat outside of the property, but overall a great VIP getaway destination.
Awesome place to stay
Overall, I had an amazing experience at Bolontiku. The staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect to celebrate a birthday weekend. The location is a plus! Beautiful property.
Amazing hotel ! Great small apart with view on the lake A must if you have one night before or after Tikal
This property sits along a beautiful view if the lake. Property is beautiful. Staff are very friendly and very helpful.
Not a Five Service, Maybe a Three
Structure is new and in good condition, however we experienced some issues with service: first airport pick-up did not turn up on time, despite the premium paid over the cost of transport charged by locals; secondly our pack breakfast for our sunrise trip to Tikal was never delivered so we ended up having nothing to eat there; thirdly, when we pointed out to reception staff that we had not received the pack breakfast they did not apologise and blamed us for leaving too early when in fact we left late waiting for the breakfast. Finally, although restaurant staff were polite and pleasant, restaurant food was bland and uninspiring and beer selection provided was disappointing and inadequate.
Beautiful hotel; food quality was not the best and over-priced.
Stunning scenery and the location was very convenient
The property was beautiful. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. They couldn't do enough for you. Our room was fantastic. Clean, spacious, and a nice view.
Great place to stay before a trip to Tikal
Great hotel! We stayed with our 2 year old and 5 year old so we could be close to Tikal without being in the park. The property is gorgeous, the staff was all extremely helpful and friendly. The kids loved the pool and boat rides. The manager went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The value was outstanding, and we would definitely stay here again.
Amazing hotel
The hotel is truly a paradise. It's located in a very private area, perfect for a weekend of fun and relax. The staff is very friendly, and they were very attentive to our needs. The rooms are beautiful and have great views of the lake. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the food. They really have an opportunity to improve it and make the whole experience perfect. On the upside, breakfast was good and the coffee is great, but the snacks, lunch and dinner menu is very limited and the food is not that great. Also, they don't have a kids menu, eventhough the hotel is kid friendly. I have to say that the staff was great; they noticed we weren't happy with the food we ordered and did their best to please us. Overall, the hotel is almost perfect and highly recommended for an amazing vacation!
Service was top notch. Rooms and bathrooms were very spacious. Food was really good. The pool was too warm in my opinion, especially since the lake is warm as well. They let us chill for a couple hours after checkout as we were in no hurry to leave.
Best Hotel in Peten great Staff and Great property Mr Salvador Guerra was an excellent host!!! our next trip to Peten will be for sure to Bolontiku!!!
Nice place, clean beautiful, nice staff, I will be back
Great property. Carefull if going by car, we were lucky driving a jeep. Excelente service. Room a little tight with the extra bed, but called us that the room rented with two queen beds were already taken. No lake view really, trees blocked the view. Food a little price for what it was. In general we likes the place and recomend it.
The food was too expensive and it wasn’t that good
Excellent service, unique design (integrates well and build on the beautiful setting). Property is well kept
The hotel is extremely beautiful and the staff was super nice. But be aware that the food is very expensive. It ranges from Q95 to Q200.
The Hotel is very nice and we had a room and balcony overlooking the sea. The transfer came directly when we called. Unfortunately there was a party group that night at the pool...
This was an amazing place. We spoke no spanish and had no problem driving from Belize to Flores. I would recommend this to everyone. I can not express the beauty of this resort and its keeping to the Mayan culture. WE LOVED THIS PLACE.
Everything is perfect, beautiful place, wish can stay longer
The resort itself was extremely well-cared for and well-managed by Rosa and the concierges, José and Ivan, who all spoke fine English. It was sometimes difficult to communicate with the wait-staff and others, who had no English, but we were in Guatemala after all! The rooms were ne plus ultra, beyond compare. Roomy with luxurious stone tiling throughout the bathroom, including the shower. Amidst the splendour, colourful toucans and a few howler monkeys come visiting. (We were called by the front desk to alert me about a howler right outside our door.) The food is gourmet and the location is nirvana. This resort should be a vacation goal in itself. The secret is out!
Amazing hotel which with a few tweaks could easily be on a best boutique hotels in the world lists. Likes: Beautiful high quality amenities and grounds; Excellent standard of cleanliness; Great accommodation with fantastic hot showers; Brilliant free kayaks and paddle boards; Great access to bungalow via golf carts; Lovely freshly made flower arrangements straight from the gardens This should have been an amazing 6 night stay. However, each day there was always a little niggle. Dislikes: 3 scheduled boat crossings per day: 7.00, 1.00 & 5.00 returning half hour later. Any deviation you make to this comes at a charge, no flexibility on cost if you share with others, also the times set by the hotel are inconsistent and seem to change to fit in with what suits them best. Breakfast, generally consists of cookie, fruit, toast and cake, peanut brittle. Sometimes huge amount of fruit, sometimes next to no fruit, biscuits some days, others not. Lunch, sometimes snack menu, sometimes not? Food poor, the menu was very limited and expensive However, having decided to eat on the mainland, we found the food in all restaurants of a poor quality. Trips - very expensive, booked one of the same trips on the mainland and paid less for 3 than the hotel charged for one. I could go on but running out of characters. In summary the food needs bringing up to a 5 star standard, bar & food staff need better training, service slow. If management reacted to comments could be outstanding.
The staff was so pleasant and made our stay very easy They had breakfast for us early to accommodate our tour and our early flight out.
We had an amazing time enjoying the kayaks, paddle boats, and beautiful grounds. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. Everywhere you look there are breathtakingly gorgeous views of the Lake and jungle. Six stars!
Luxury experience, but overpriced
Good bit of complication to the bill, taking some from one card and some from another card. Also included a bottle of wine which we believed was courtesy. There was not always an englsih speaker present which made paying the bill very complicated. Incredibly clean and very polite staff
Very quiet, nice and calm. The view from the lake is wonderful and the gardens amazing.
Nice hotel, nice room and wonderful place to rest outside of the city
Cold water, stove didn't work, no blankets, very noisy all night, had to hunt down someone to open for us
Location, clean and the personal are so great, wonderfull experience!!!!
Excelente customer service since the miment I booked the hotel until we checked out they know how to treat their customers. The rooms have an amazing view towards the lake and everything is just perfect. I will definitely keep staying at this hotel in the future
Beautiful hotel in a secluded area. Main access is with a boat shuttle provided by the hotel
Lovely secluded hotel nestled in the jungle where you can listen to all the jungle sounds. Great food though at higher prices due to the location and upscale accommodations and service. Only access to other restaurants are via the complimentary 15 min boat ride. Free use of kayaks and paddle rider. Definitely worth the splurge!
Beautiful hotel, excellent staff, totally recommended.
Beautiful hotel-friendly staff-super clean- arranged trip to Tikal for me, great time everthing went smoothly-awesome shower in bathroom-will be back next year
Peaceful
Really peaceful. Beautiful bathrooms, comfortable rooms. Nice pool, kayak and paddle boat for the lake. Highly recommend!
We were greeted at the jetty with wet towels and complimentary drinks before being taken to our room. The room was superb and the bathroom featured the best shower I have ever experienced with views over the lake. Complimentary kayaks, paddle boards and pedalo are available on the lake which was actually a degree or two above that of the beautiful cooling (but not cold) swimming pool. Nothing to fault at this wonderful hotel.
Beautiful secluded lakefront property with exceptional staff. Accessible only by hotel boat shuttle. A great base for exploring Tikal.
Great stay
The stay was amazing. The staff went the extra mile and views are incredible.
Quiet!! No car horns, no airplanes, no motorcycles, just quiet. Still a place on earth for silence. The staff were very kind and attentive. Allowed Maya ceremony onsite -- much appreciated. This is a beautiful setting. A little out of the way from the city, the rewards for your short journey will be rewarded. Best hotel setting I've been to in years.
Nice hotel, nice location. But it was a surprise that you have to pay $25 dollar if you want to take a boat to go to Flores. In the website they don’t provide that information.
Excellent service and attention. Amazing place. Wouldn't change anything. We decided to rent a car to move around Peten, but we realized to late that we were missing a cooler (warm and humid weather) so I asked the hotel if by any chance they could help us with that. The next morning that we were going out, they had a cooler filled with ice by our rental car, for us to take in our roadtrip. They also gave us towels since we were going swimming to a river 3 hours away. Later that night we wanted to play some music by the pool, but we didnt had speakers, so I asked the front desk and they manage to get us some speakers for us to play our music. Everything we needed to make our stay better, they managed to provide it, no matter what. Great service.
Bolontiku is a beautiful property on the western side of Lake Peten itza, in an area that is less populated than others. The facilities themselves are impressive - clean, comfortable, and made to blend into the natural landscape rather than being an eye sore. I stayed in a Mirador suite and loved having a balcony that opened onto a forest, with the lake below. Staff were friendly and attentive, and very accomodating with room service and boat transfers to Flores. My only recommendation would be to consider a more diverse snack menu in the restaurant. All food options tend to be a bit on the heavy side - would be nice to have a few salad options, carpaccio, etc. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Perfect place in Peten!
It was a really amazing place. The food was really something special. My only complain was the lack of information from the personnel at the reception about the use of ferry, they should inform each guest about their amenities.
Beautiful hotel by the lake. The rooms are big with modern and comfortable furniture, very well kept. The best asset is the bathroom! Beautiful, large and the best shower I have ever taken. The facilities in the hotel are lovely, great pool and lounge areas. The food was very good, especially breakfast, which was very generous and included in the price. The hotel staff could not be kinder and willing to help. They accommodated all transportation and tour visits. All was perfect! I will definitely coma back and I highly recommend it.
is a really relaxing place, the view is excellent. love this hotel we will go aging next year.
Stunning location, good food etc. Just beware that once you get there, you're pretty much stuck at the hotel. Only way to/from the hotel is via water taxi.
The best VIP treatment by far. I have traveled some and have received Expedia VIP benefits but this hotel goes above and beyond. Thank you for making our stay a Memorable one. This property is truly PARADISE.
STAY AWAY from this IMMINENT DANGER
Poor end of an otherwise great experience. The place is very beautiful but they are not ready to operate, much less to deal with eventualities. They transport you throught the hotel using golf carts that are clearly not designed for the steep cobbled streets that have a bit of normal mold from the jungle. In our case we suffered a terrible accident by the irresponsible person of reception Guadalupe who not only didn't report the incident but lied about it. She turned the golfcart over and and got us severly hurt. The hotel did not send us a doctor, it did not support us at all and they even charged us for the transportation to the airport GTQ 120.00. It's been 3 weeks and we have no news from the hotel, they don't answer the phone or emails. Save yourself the bad taste of mouth and don't ruin your vacations, better stay in a professional well prepared hotel that knows what they're doing
The food was so so and way overpriced for what you get. Other than that, it is a beautiful location. There’s perks to staying there. The manager is very nice and helpful
Exc stay
First level in all points, it’s a paradise near a lake, wonderful attention
Beautiful setting; clarity on getting to/from the hotel would have been appreciated though. We didn’t know we could go to Flores and then take the hotel boat to get to the hotel and instead spent more time and money driving around.
This is an amazing slice of paradise in the Peten. Very tranquil and the staff were wonderful.
Totally sweet
The perfect base for Tikal and Mirador exploration. Loved the room
Fantastic hotel on the lake
20 minutes from Flores on the other side of the lake. Fantastic view from the balcony of the room in a serene atmosphere. There is a very nice restaurant, reasonably priced. Rosa the manager goes the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. Plan to spend a couple of days at least, in this great place.
Couldn't ask for more!
Everything about our visit to Bolontiku was perfect, right from the first exchange of messages to arrange the airport transfers! The staff are super attentive and very friendly. The accommodated all our requests including additional decoration in our room, and a private candlelit table on the quayside for us to enjoy our anniversary dinner. The hotel has a great pool, and very good facilities to enjoy the lake. We especially enjoyed taking the pedalo out with a couple of cold ones to enjoy the afternoon on the lake! The room was large and kept very clean, with great attention to detail and quality finishings. My wife was very happy with the body lotion in the bathroom. The rooms are laid out to give plenty of privacy even from the private balcony. Moving from the common areas to the room is by golf cart if you don't want to walk up the hill. The staff were always ready to take and pick us up, we never waited more than 2 mins for the transport. The food in the restaurant was great and the portions are a good size too. All in all this hotel truly deserves the 5* rating I'm giving it, and we will be back again in the future!
I have most definitely recommend this hotel already to my friends. We had an excellent stay. It’s set out away from the main town which I love, to get good rest and not be overcrowded. Excellent service and attention from staff at every moment. Room service would forget to take away used glasses but that was it. The room was fantastic and gorgeous. I would love to go back.
Great experience recommended
Very nice hotel in front of the lake.
Very nice hotel in front of the lake, they have a boat that takes you to the hotel, the boat was already waiting for us when we arrived. At the hotel we were welcomed by the staff with wet towels and a Jamaica punch with cinnamon and ginger. The staff is very polite and they take care of everything for you. The hotel is beautiful, a gem hidden in the forest. Very elegant, comfortable and clean. The view is breathtaking. The restaurant is a 5 stars ⭐️ place. I highly recommend this hotel.
Wonderful getaway.
Magnificent resort. Designed beautifully. The best part was the staff— extremely helpful and accommodating.
Great hotel, great staff, great location. Have the hotel set up the tours.
This is a beautiful setting, very private.
We got off to a poor start when I didn't have the transportation at the airport waiting. If this happens to you, find someone to call the hotel and get dropped off at the dock in Flores. Things went smoothly on departure and the management apologised. My bungalow was beautiful - really perfect way to start off my Guatemalan vacation. I ate at the hotel restaurant. Food was good. Local food isn't very spicy so you may want to ask for something to add some zing if your palate likes that. The staff organised a guided tour of Tikal and some of the family groups went via helicopter to El Mirador. Belize isn't far away either. Its' easy to do a quick trip to the Bolontiku from Guatemala City. Stay two nights to unwind. You'll be tired after the Tikal tour - lots of stairs! There are some big families that come in and take over the pool, the kids can be rambunctious. There's other areas by the lake to hang out. Go for a kayak and check out the bird life. The egrets roost at sunset near the hotel. Thank you for a restful stay!
Hidden Gem
This was by far the best place I have ever stayed in.
Incredible
Everything about this hotel exceeded expectations
Beautiful hotel with a great view.
Loved my escape to Bolontiku and the quiet city of Flores. Bolontiku has wonderful gardens, comfy, bright rooms and a very responsive staff. The restaurant has delicious, fairly priced food with a gorgeous view of the lake. You can easily get to Flores on their boat. I’ll be back!!!
Things got much better after our first day. They fixed the problem and we were pleased after that The place is gorgeous
I loved how it was away from the city and very tropical
Best Hotel period
The hotel was magnificent , the setting in the jungle, the architectural design and the rooms where excellent, very modern and new with a jungle vibe. The bathroom and showers where huge, just loved the huge shower, you can slide all the windows open in the shower and you feel like your taking a shower in the jungle, just breath taking. Heide and Ericka where great, they met all our needs as well as the rest of the staff. The breakfast was very good at reasonable prices. Just loved this place, best hotel ive ever stayed at and I travel often.
Perfect hotel!
The hotel was a wonderful experience! The staff was 100 points!!!
Shangri-La in Guatemala
We spent 2 weeks touring Guatemala, attracted by its natural beauty and the Mayan civilization. Hotel Bolontiku is one of our best part. Initially we didn't know that it's a hidden jewel on the lake. We took a taxi following Google Map. It is very wrong - the hotel would pick us up at the port of Flores! The hotel with 15 suites were built on the cliff, with each suite hidden in the trees. The view is fabulous. The environment is so natural and serene. Yet, we got high speed internet and wireless signal - unlike in Tikal where the electricity and water are on only for a few hours each day. The rooms are more like villas, scattered on the hill, with air-con and very nice, spa-like bathrooms. We loved it so much that we went there twice!
guatemala heaven
another Guatemala heaven, most romantic, moon over the lake. manager was class.
Tranquil El Peten Oasis
Bolontiku is an oasis of beauty and calm for the traveler. It is a treasure to the eye and for all of one´s senses. There are countless views of Lake Itza Peten in several settings. There is delicious food to be enjoyed under in an outdoor yet covered and protected setting. The rooms are comfortable and gorgeous and very spacious and clean and include a lovely deck. They are very fancy and built individually as bungalows to model small temples. There is so much privacy, one feels as if they are the only one there. The cultivated jungle is beautiful and meticulously maintained with gorgeous flowers and plant life that inspires several species of birds. The swimming pool is very large and beautiful too, is well maintained and offers more views of the lake. As if this were not enough, the staff is most helpful, kind, generous and accommodating. They were fantastic and helped arrange our trip to and from the hotel. I highly recommend Bolontiku!
Getting greeted off the boat with a cold glass of Jamaica (Habiscus) was the first experience. Without even setting foot on this beautiful property. We showed up before our check-in to leave our extra luggage and they attend us regardless. We took off to visit Tikal. In the mean time they took our luggage and placed it in the room for us. Even turned on the AC for us. The restaurant has great food. A mixture of some local dishes and other more western favorites. Peten is a little off the beaten path for me when I visit Guate. But I will be coming here anytime I’m in the area.
