Great service and lovely hotel

Fantastic stay in Derry, our stay at Bishops Gate Hotel was without fault. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Food etc second to none and as the hotel is very centrally situated it was ideal for what we wanted to see and do. A very fun enjoyable stay.

All hassle free, staff were so friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend and hopefully we'll get back at some stage.

Great location just inside the Walled City. Easy access to dining, touring, and entertainment. Great views of the city and direct access to Free Derry for historical context. Room was good though small--only room for one chair for two people. Hotel food was grand. Staff was personable, professional, and responsive. Off-site parking was easy--just one block across the street.

We stayed in the Hannigans apartment which was strange being in a remodeled basement but we got used to it and liked it by the second day. Food and service in restaurant was great.

Lovely would stay again

Lovely hotel, very accommodating and helpful staff. Super king bed was super comfy. Only two niggles were there was no toothpaste provided (which for a business traveler is useful to supply) and the mirror hadn’t been cleaned properly which (in a bathroom) isn’t pleasant.

The bishops Gate was an excellent hotel for our needs. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. The location is excellent. As were the dining facilities. I would highly recommend the Bishops Gate.

Great atmosphere

The staff were so friendly and helpful - especially Kaysi on reception and Michael who showed us to our room. The apartment/room was beautifully decorated and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Our meal in the hotel restaurant was outstanding. Really enjoyed our stay and will be back.

The young lady that checked us in, I'm thinking her name was Kalsi, was so friendly, inviting, knowledgeable and charming. Hands down the best we've encountered on our vacation to date.

Amazing customer service

Bishops Gate is a rare find in Derry! It is impeccable is so many ways… friendly and helpful staff, beautiful bar, delicious breakfast, and perfect location. We stayed 2 nights and had a relaxing stay. Need to come back and stay longer!

Treated like a King and Queen You did not even loo

The bishops gate is the place to stay in Derry. It is a beautiful hotel with highly skilled, friendly, and helpful staff who go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and rewarding. Literally, from the valet, to reception (KAYLI-sp?), everyone was professional, courteous, helpful, and just top-notch. The hotel is meticulous and inviting. It is a place you want to come home to every night After being out visiting Derry and seeing the sites. It is also centrally located within the city walls and within walking distance to almost everything. It was really a treat staying here.

Wonderful staff

Good location, disappointing stay

Pros: the staff downstairs are very nice. The location is good. Cons: the rooms are incredibly noisy, to the point where you cannot get a good night of sleep. We were in room 102. The walls and door to the room must be paper thin because we could hear every step and conversation in the hall and every door closing for floors in every direction as though it was next to our bed. Incredibly frustrating. When I mentioned this to the front desk, the person at reception said she’d never had any noise complaints. However, when I talked to the others in my group they too said their rooms were incredibly noisy.

Great place to stay. We were really happy with our room and the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful.

Superb!

We had a recent one night stay in The Bishopsgate Hotel & we could not praise it enough! Our room was ready early & we were provided offered early check in. From the minute we arrived the service was friendly, courteous and warm. We ate in the bar that night & our food was outstanding. We will definitely return! A genuinely well run hotel with staff who are excellent at their jobs.

Very expensive Doorman tried to push us to get the L15/day valet parking when parking at the local car park was free for the first day and only £4 for the second day— had we gone with his plan we would have wasted £26 unnecessarily!! The hotel has zero air conditioning and the room had no luggage holders The pipes were clunking and making noise for much of the time Seemed more like a 2* hotel

Just a Super Hotel

We were in Room 501. It had a separate vestibule outside the room door that kept things really quiet. The whole vibe of the establishment was one of elegance and the staff was quite friendly.

Lovely room with 2 twin beds in this small boutique hotel.. The shower is large and very nice. We had dinner in the "bar" and that was excellent. I'd stay here again. Staff are all very pleasant.

Perfect spot within the city walls to explore Derry! We stayed in one of the adjacent Bishop's Gate Apartments and were very happy with the accommodations.

The staff, the cleanliness, the overall beauty of the hotel was grand! Everyone helpful and efficient. Breakfast was great! Walkable to everything! Rooms were very comfortable! Would highly recommend!

Best hotel in Derry !

Great hotel within the city walls. Short walk to all we needed. Quiet at night. Excellent, friendly service. Reasonably priced valet parking was a pleasant surprise. Great menu at the 'Wig' and the food was very good. Would absolutely stay again.

Lovely old historic hotel with the friendliest service! Rooms were well appointed, cozy and it couldn’t have been more convenient. Enjoyed watching Derry girls at night from the huge flatscreen tv!

We were greeted warmly by Kasey in reception and treated with kindness and respect throughout our entire stay. The junior suite was spacious and nicely done. The location was convenient to all of the sights we wanted to explore. Would highly recommend.

Loved our stay at Bishop’s Gate! Great location in Derry. I think they are the only hotel in Ireland that does valet parking. Ha ha. Much appreciated! The gal at the front desk was also amazing and helpful & finding me a place to do some much needed laundry. It’s also very close to most of the Derry sites. The place to stay!

The rooms are in poor condition, needs serious updating. Overpriced. The best thing was the staff. They were very professional and helped made our stay acceptable.

Everything was perfect except for the view for my room was horrible. When you book your room make sure you ask for a room with a nice view. The staff were fantastic!

We LOVED this hotel!!! We were running about an hour ahead of schedule but when we showed up our room was actually ready! The two young ladies at the front desk were phenomenal... so friendly and helpful! We pre-arranged for valet parking which was so convenient, and enabled us to further enjoy our stay in Derry. All the sites we wanted to see were within walking distance. When we were done for the day, we went back to the hotel to relax and then ate dinner in the front bar area. We both got the steak dinner which was delicious, and the bramble drink was amazing! The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious... we were able to order our own breakfast meal from the menu! This is one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip to Ireland, and we would definitely stay there again, as well as recommend it to others. Thanks to all the staff at The Bishop's Gate!

Very friendly

We checked in ( 3 rooms 6 people ) later in the evening. We were not able to eat in the restaurant because it was closing. The front desk clerk recommended another location. Based on this recommendation we walked there. This place was closed already. VERY inconvenient.

This place was top notch. Staff was exceptionally helpful. Was given a free upgrade (placed in a suite) on arrival. I would highly recommend a stay at Bishops Gate!

Wonderful stay at Bishop's Gate! Friendly, helpful staff; beautiful room; excellent food and bev; perfect location. We traveled all over N. Ireland over two weeks and this was our favorite hotel out of the six we stayed in.

This was the perfect hotel for my wife and me on our brief stay in Derry. The reception and valet staff accommodated us into our beautiful room, and we thoroughly enjoyed the wall-walking tour they recommended. We enjoyed a great evening meal in the hotel bar area, and breakfast the following day was perfect. The room was well-appointed, clean, and very comfortable.

Unbelievable place to stay

The staff were outstanding and extremely attentive towards myself and my Mother. Exceptional with helping my mother who is disabled and supplied the highest of standards! I absolutely loved my stay here and would definitely stay anytime again! The staff are a credit to this hotel! Thank you so much for the best nights stay!

Fantastic experience from arrival to departure. Friendly and helpful staff made for a great stay. Great location right in the heart of the city close to all the sights and sounds.

The staff was exceptionally kind and went above and beyond to meet our needs. This property is beautiful, the area is incredibly fun, and everything in the city is walkable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Hotel was beautiful, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Breakfast was beautiful next morning. Staff had a rude customer at breakfast but they dealt with it very professionally.

Loved our stay-the restaurant Wig and Gown is superb! Ate there both nights we were there. Had a handicap room which we did not ask for -little disappointing-but over all experience was wonderful.

Great location in the old town and easy to walk to sites. Room was average but comfortable. Breakfast is extra charge. Would stay here again when in Derry.

Very nice hotel with great staff. Breakfast was also very enjoyable. Only complaint was no air conditioning, was rather warm and needed to use the room fan which was provided. Front desk staff were exceptional.

We enjoyed the property as it was central to our needs everything was within walking distance so no Taxi's were required 😊 this was a bonus for us as we know how difficult it is to get a taxi of a night around this city on this particular weekend.

Good stay

Two night stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had a drain problem in our room after the first night. The staff were on it right away, couldn’t fix it over the weekend so moved us immediately to another room. We had a meal at the hotel on the first night of our stay. The food was vey good and the staff very attentive and friendly.

Just the job

Great reception service, lovely rooms and fantastic food with a great location inside Derry walls. Paid parking is just across the road but no big issue. Would definitely stay again

This hotel is super and that is down to its staff. From being welcomed on arrival by Micheal to our leaving, we have had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is comfortable, the decor is lovely and the food delicious. Our room was spacious, spotless with a decent shower. Everyone was friendly with always a word.

Very good hotel, but quite noisy!

Lovely, clean and tidy hotel. Staff were excellent. Location is very good, right in the centre. Our room looked onto quite a busy road and quite a lot of noise due to this, only let down was the noise from the road.
