I love the tranquil environment. Peace and quiet. Beautiful scenery of lake just looking out of my room window. The restaurants are excelent both in service and quality of food. The br3akfast was excellent. First time I experienced Teppanyaki Steak cooked in front of me for breakfast in hotel. Highly recommended. Will come again.

Amazing stay

Always a great stay in Wyndham Panbil, whose name was Best Western. My family always stay in the hotel for few days every year. The lake view from hotel room or swimming pool offer a great view which makes it suitable place for healing. Top recommendation.

Book for a 2 Queen bed for 3 adults. According to hotel, they do not hv 2 Queen bed size options. Two adults had to squeeze onto one twin or superior single bed. Toiletries only cater for two, need to request.

Weekend gateway.

Room is enough for couple staying in Batam. Location is about 15 to 20 mins away from the malls. Driver has to make a u turn to return back to the hotel and not ideal in a raining day or at night. Staff is friendly and helpful although breakfast on Sunday was chaotic. It was better managed on Monday.

i liked how sustainable the hotel is trying to be. Instead of offering bottled water to their guests, they gave us a huge water bottle with a tap connected to it, so we could fill the kettle and boil our water for drinking if needed. the room and facility are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. However, my companions and I found that the restaurant where we had our breakfast was somewhat lacking. the restaurant is open for breakfast from 6 a.m. - 10 a.m.. and when we went down at 9 a.m., the buffet was about empty already. I can understand if it's 30mins before 10 am but not an hour. it's inexcusable. We went down at 8 a.m. the next day. The buffet was also, almost empty. cold cuts were empty, the porridge was already finished. the sausages and bacon were also gone. we asked for a top-up for the porridge and waited for the others to be topped up. but when they top up the porridge, it was cold. the miso soup that we expected to be hot, was lukewarm. the chefs and service staff should at least maintain the buffet and not leave empty pots and cold food for their guests to eat, especially not early in the morning. Dinner at La Bella Vita however, was excellent. The food was fast, the service was good and so was the ambience.

Hotel and Eska spa wellness staff are friendly and polite. However, it was my first time in batam, abit disappointed. I find the hotel room towels very very smelly. Please have all your towels change or maybe change the detergent as the strange smell was so pungent.Housekeeping can be more thoroughly check as toilet small dustbin is not cleared. Phone was down, front desk say will send someone up to check but didn't come. Location was a little out but gogek was not expensive to get around. Breakfast was just average. Had dinner at the restaurant where they served breakfast, food was not nice and the waiting time was looonnngggg with only 2 tables in the big restaurant.

Overall was ok except for the bathroom. There's only overhead shower and the water not flowing properly, also turning hot n cold even when i set it right. Quite a hassle to shower.. Informed reception but problem not fixed. Another issue is the breakfast area. Never have i encountered hotels whereby guests have to queue to get in for breakfast. Staff have been helpful trying to solve the issue but there seemed not much they can do.

Hotel was up to standard of a 5-star hotel. Great service from the hotel staff, they were all very friendly and nice. Room was super clean and comfortable, breakfast is okay but nothing special. Only downside would be the hotel’s location which is quite far from the city and the shuttle service requires booking in advance. Would highly recommend hiring a private driver if staying here.

I think this hotel has a lot of potential, considering the amazing views you get from the lake side-facing rooms, however, the sound proofing in the rooms is really, really bad. You can both hear a lot of traffic noise and everything that is happening in the adjacent rooms - you can hear every conversation in your neighbours' rooms even if they are talking at a normal volume. The room itself was a bit dirty and there was a half eaten cake in our fridge that hadn't been cleaned out. Breakfast was a bit bizarre as it was served in a conference room. The whole thing seemed a bit unorganised and there were very very few vegetarian options. Staff were really nice but I don't think I will be staying here again even though I really enjoyed the view from my room.

We had a great time! We stayed for 4 nights. We spent most days in the massive pool, and from 11am-3pm we had it all to ourselves which was amazing! Once the weekend came around though it was busier, but still not packed. Room was great, AC worked well! Hotel staff were all friendly and very helpful. Food was great! Especially at the restaurant on the 15th floor it’s a bit pricey but similar to North American prices at a nice restaurant. We ate lunch at the pool everyday and it was tasty too! Brisket pizza surprisingly good! Lunch for 2 and several beers was about $40. Would recommend people coming to batam to stay here for a nice relaxing stay!

Worst stay ever!

Service is very bad compared to pre-covid. I’ve been staying in this hotel everytime I come Batam, about 4-5 times a year. It’s a 5-star rated hotel. I have always stayed in a suite room. Previously there was complimentary high tea everyday of our stay, and a guest relations officer will knock on our door to say she will be taking care of our stay here. Now, there is no more complimentary high tea for us. But it’s ok, we wanted to order and pay for our high tea, but a whole bad experience awaits us. We went to the 15th floor bar to ask about it, and was told that it would be rp150,000 at Kayu Manis bar. The next day, we called recep to reconfirm that the high tea will be available at Kayu Manis bar and was told it’s a yes. When we went down to the bar, the lady there says there is no high tea available. We went to the reception counter, the staffs also informed us there is no high tea available. When we continued to probe (since we were told by the staff at 15th floor as well as premier assistance staff that it’s available), staff Fitri called the restaurant. After that, she apologised that she gave us the wrong information and that she thought we were referring to the FREE high tea! Even though I mentioned a staff told us it would be rp150,000! Insulting! Breakfast has very limited spread now. And main restaurant only serves Chinese food now. Western food have to go to the noisy bar with no proper tables to eat. Each order have to wait 40-60 mins before food arrives.

Every person working there seems so happy and friendly, remembering my name, greeting me with huge smiles and even remembering my drinks preferences! The room was very clean and comfortable and best of all, it was so quiet. I had a very peaceful rest here which was just what I needed. Loved it!

Room view is excellent although on just 5th floor since hotel is on a high grounds. Some drinks and snacks from fridge are on the house.

Nice pool and rooftop bar. Room is not soundproofed, very noisy especially there is a door connecting 2 irrelevant rooms. Some idiot guests try to open it at midnight and make alot of noise after unable to open it. How scary if only a girl staying in the room. Breakfast selections is horrible. I feel like i stepped in vegetarian restaurant everyday. All vege, stir fried noodles, plain porridge, 100 dishes of potatos. Cut fruits is re-serve for 3 days (or more) , papaya, watermelon and pineapple looks like mashed potato. Yellowish color somemore. Dun dare to touch. only one option for dimsum - frozen siew mai which tastes suck. Nice looks building, but that’s it.

I book this hotel after lookimg at the review. My two night stay was good and relax greeted with smile by all the staffs. The pool, gym. massage and free shutter was good. Bteakfast excellent. Will return in my next trip to Batam. Good Job amd thanks to all the hotel staffs.

Disclaimer: These are my own personal experiences and everyone might have a different experience. Ie. Meet different staff, have a different room. Cost (3/5) 2 weekday night stay costs approx. $140 after credit card discounts. There were several other hotels with similar prices or even cheaper but I decided to try BW just to explore new hotels. Location (2/5) I scored this quite low because of its poor location. It isn’t a resort so you probably won’t stay in the hotel all day. And it isn’t in the city so it is a hassle to travel there too. Located about 30 minutes from the city center which can be longer if you travel there during peak hours. They have shuttle service but with limited timings. The latest return shuttle bus is at around 4pm which means that if you intend to watch a movie in the evening or have dinner out you have to take a taxi back. A grab car from grand mall area cost me $4.50 which is pricy considering grab is already much cheaper than the local taxi. There are two malls (panbil mall and Kepri mall) around the area (not accessible by foot and not grabcar friendly either). Room (4/5) Room was spacious and had a complimentary minibar (1x softdrink, 1x biscuit, 1x wafer, 1x apple juice). Air conditioner was cold (a little too cold for me. I slept with the aircon off all night and it was still really cold. I believe it can’t be completely switched off due to a central aircon system, though it could also be a defective aircon in my room). Room was mostly c

Beautiful hotel interior design and clean room

The interier design of the hotel is besutiful. We asked for high floor with beautiful lake view. Hotel staff also very friendly and helpful. Not able to try the infinity swimming pool as the weather was cold. Staying in the room most of the time for 1 night as nothing to do around the hotel. Too bad no bathtub in the room. Didnt manage to try the ESKA Spa & Massage as we did not pre-book appointment. The breakfast variety is many but the food is disappointed. Hotel do provide transport pickup at the Mega Mall but need to pre-book with the hotel. We didnt ger to book the bus on our arrival as there was no response to my email request.

On the arrival, the staff offer us to free upgrade room to suite due to the room demand were high and almost full. It was unexpected arrival gift to us. The staff were full knowledge about his work and explain us in details. The room is clean and excellent. Staff allocates us as per request ( high floor, lake view). Over feel excellent.

Overall a good place to stay.

I had stayed in this hotel for numerous times. The only disappointment for the stay this time is that I had booked 2 rooms with inter-connecting doors and had requested for late check-out. On the last day, they had only agreed to extend for one of the room instead of both rooms.

Free shuttle to and back from the mall is a good service. Keep it up.

Staffs are helpful and provide good customer service. Especially staffs at rooftop bar are very friendly. Arrangements on shuttle service are done promptly too. Have an upgrade of room however amenities were only provided for one pax. But staff attended to request promptly. Overall a good stay.

The hotel design, facilities are nice and modern. staff is friendly and welcoming, great view and nice food, has world class standards. However, the towel are not well maintained, most of it are with stain even after request to change, glad to hear from the housekeeping supervisor mr Aris that the Housekeeping staff actually feedback on the towel during their meeting. Another thing that has minus point for the stay is that the housekeeping attendant that came to change the towel touched my thighs two time with the back of his hand even when i moved away from him. I felt quite uncomfortable about it and reported the incident through calling the reception, but the message wasn’t pass through I think because when I check out I checked with the receptionist but none of them heard about the feedback that i made, coincidently Mr Andrew the GM was there and wanted to hear from me, and he immediately investigate on the matter. Nice hotel in industrial area at Batam

The hotel allowed us to do early check in due to my mum's health, this has made us as family thank to the hotel. They also were willing to pick us up at fery terminal with free of charge. Room is clean. Additional late check out to 3pm is only S$10. Worth value of money.

It's just Bad!

From check in till the night in.. it's just bad! The whole ambient is just not right. Booked for a double room, and they can tell you they are left with 2 single beds. They will combine the beds together and that's fine. However, it's just shocking to know they combine the bed and just looks half done or a half job kind. The cleanliness is just bad! Immediately we booked another hotel and checked out the next day. One last thing.. requested a reservation for the spa within the hotel, they confirmed saying it's made with the spa. It was not at all! The spa said there were no reservations made!!! Luckily we checked with the spa directly! They tried to do service recovery by offering another room. We think that's not the point totally! It's just disappointing from this first and last experience with this hotel.

Pros: beautiful, posh hotel with an infinity pool and an alfresco rooftop private bar... Cons: Basin in room is loosel attached. Shuttle service slots are very limited during weekends.

The coffee sever during breakfast was excellent!. It was the best coffee from all the hotels that i had stayed. All the staffs were very helpful . The view from the swimming pool was good.

Overall service was good. However, during the breakfast time, we couldn't find a table and was told by the lady to look for a table on our own and the restaurant was full of people walking around and waiting. Please improve on this.

Terrible breakfast and nothing much around

Second stay at this hotel. Just very disappointed. Breakfast was very good the last time I was here, with a live sushi counter. And a request of no vegetables(LOCAL cucumber, carrots, tomatoes and lettuces) led to a maki of sushi rice and seaweed. It was at 8.30am when breakfast ends at 10! The last I was there, it was filled with avocadoes, tamagoyaki, tempura, salmon. What have gone wrong? Oh and the pilaf rice? Half were dried up rice. Location? There’s absolutely nothing around.

If you want to come to Batam for shopping, this place is a little out of the way, so prepare a mode of transportation. This hotel is excellent for those who just want to R&R, as the surrounding views are excellent and beautiful. You can especially enjoy the sunrise over the nearby lake from the swimming pool.

I like that the hotel has nicely furnished rooms and the spa within. Love the pool too! However, the Western selections for breakfast needs to improve! The hotdogs tasted awful and pasta no taste. I m sure Best Western can do better than that!

Short n recharge holiday

We enjoyed the infinity pool n the gym. Bfast is good n lots of choices. The only setback is the location. Its a bit far from town but they do have shuttle to nagoya hill shopping centre. Have to reserve the seat with reception if u want to take the shuttle. We took grab / gojek to town.

best hotel ever in my hotel experience. Their hospitality is high level with friendly and professional service by all of the staff members. Biggning with check in process, even i have arrived earlier than checkin time they let me into my room with welcome drinks and the assistance of baggage. the Facilities including the restaurants, loby lounge, swimming pool, spa, roof top bar, and the bed room are all organised and highly recommended to relax. I liked mich my room was with great panoramic view and clean amenities.

For your consideration

Our 1st visit was amazing. It's our 2nd visit to celebrate our Valentine's Day. Staff were friendly and approachable. I was offered a non smoking room as per request. However the room had cigarette smell which triggered my sinus. They did a treatment to eliminate the smell. There were a group of Korean tour group who were slamming the door even during the wee hours and called our room for wake up call for 2 consecutive mornings. "Such a Put Off" They were speaking aloud and our sleep was disturbed. Jacuzzi was down.

Everything was good in this hotel.Breakfast served was also good.Only disappointment was the water in the bathroom n basin kinda clogged.Took awhile for water to be drained. Other than that everything was good n comfortable.

Stayed at an executive room. Room was spacious and clean. A few issues to take note. Executive lounge was not open during the stay, which is a pity since they do have a decent looking roof top location for the lounge. Breakfast was acceptable but not the best. Breakfast area can get really crowded during peak hour. Overall great for a 4 star hotel.

Checking in was very late however staffs was very polite in explaining and my room was upgraded since there wasnt any more room of our choice deapite alreasy made payment trough online booking. Eveeything else was perfecto especially the beds and comfy pillows! Food can be more variety if i can be honest.

Amazing stay... Everything was clean and new. Was happy there is live band performing at the rooftop. But hope they will be performing on sunday as well and till late night. informed them about my anniversary and they gave me a suprised cake. but sadly did not get a high floor and nice view as requested. Check-in was smooth, the staffs are friendly and courteous. The room was cosy but very cold, the aircon didnt seem able to adjust the temperature. The breakfast variety was good but taste was satisfactory only. We had a good view of the fireworks on the night of 31st Dec. The fireworks was just right in front of our hotel window, that was a spectacular view. However, our stay met with some hiccups as on our first day the room did not have any towels at all. We called the room service 4 times and went down to reception to request for the towels and it took whole day before they sent just 2 towels over in the evening. Upon check in we were told there will be a complimentary slice of Birthday cake, however till the day we checked out there isn’t any. This was quite a disappointing experience we ever had from a hotel service.

Quiet hotel with easy accessible to malls (shuttle service provided)

Location was quite far from the main tourist areas. The dining choices was expensive and limited. The closest mall was Kempri mall, just is a local mall. The receptionist provided me a smoking area, not really sure if I chose one. However due to Christmas Eve, I could not change. The room walls are flimsy and could hear the next door neighbour clearly, unfortunately the neighbours were a group of Koreans student celebrating Christmas in their room. The room given to me was fronting a large number of aircons, so no views and a lot of sound. The shuttle bus to Mega Mall which was posted by other reviewers was not in operation. Had to pay Rp 100k one way to Megamall. Was locked out of the room due to the locker key was Low battery. The breakfast was only average at best. Only 3 lifts in the hotel which caused Long waiting time for lifts. On the plus side , the hotel was new and the room was comfortable and modern. The infinity pool view was fantastic, but can be crowded. This is my first time with Best Western, not sure if it is a budget hotel, but decided to give it a try as there was the word Premier in their name. Anyway, not staying again when I’m Batam.

The hotel was great in many aspects! The room was comfy, breakfast buffet was really really good (they start at 6am). The pool was not that big and gym was lacking racks and barbells (unless you are a dumbbell kinda person, then they do have a good spread). Staff was really helpful, room service tasted great (you can also get the same food at the restaurant). Overall, it was a good experience!
