Place was ok, definitely not new. No complaints.
I was impressed with the room. The linens were high quality and the beds comfortable. I also appreciated the many breakfast options.

Pass on this One
The woman at the front desk at check in is super nice. The breakfast is very good. That is where the positive ends. -I stayed in room 102. It had a very musty smell and there was mold on the curtains. -The lawn crew for the hotel was out BEFORE 8am working. Why would you do that where people come to sleep? Do you not want people to sleep when they are paying you for a bed? -While my niece was still sleeping, BEFORE checkout, housekeeping came and woke her up. Why isn't it policy to leave people alone before checkout time?? I’m sure there were plenty of rooms to clean that had already dropped off their key cards. Again, do you not want people to sleep when they are paying you for a bed?
Clean room. Good breakfast. Not too far from port.
Great
Shout out to Joann for going above and beyond and helping us get in our room when she was getting off work. Would stay here again.
The shower did not have a liner, so water leaked onto the floor making it very slippery.
The receipt for the stay wasn’t ready at checkout after 4 days staying there.. wanted me to wait for it but couldn’t because in had a flight to catch.
Great staff and clean room
Only breakfast and staff are nice.
Room is clean. But smell is so bad. We can smell somebody smoked. Carpet is soso. But breakfast is nice.
It was perfect for my trip. Conveniently located near all major roads and parking was always available right outside my room
Good stay
Very comfortable hotel. A few of the amenities were dated, and the shower curtain didn’t fit, but otherwise everything was fine.
Worst customer service.
Great Staff and Great Location for access to the city
An old motel style facility small rooms tiny bathroom, comfortable for a night not a longer stay.
I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent!
Quiet. We were in back of building . Bathroom extremely small.
Very good breakfast and the plenty of options
Happy customer
My stay was amazing and I slept very well
Easy to access, Wonderful check-in arrangement
Our room was clean and comfortable. Check in and out were simple and efficient.
Very well!
Blood on the sheets in the first room. Roaches in the second. Not going back again
It wouldn’t have been bad if they didn’t charge me a random 92 dollars on top of charging me for the room because the guy at the front desk didn’t know how to charge a 3rd party site like Expedia that I booked through. All in all ended up paying 440 dollars for a one night stay. Now I’ve got to wait 4-5 days to get my money back just ridiculous
Very clean! Easy check in and out, and the staff were amazing! Will definitely be staying here in the future!
It was clean
Best Western is a he best place to stay in Charleston, South Carolina because it is not far from downtown Charleston and the price is good! The free breakfast is also good!
Spacious room
Desk staff was very helpful.
Very safe and no problem with parking
Very good stay very good rate- would recommend
Not what I paid for...
Best Western When arrived, told that ground floor flooded, then they have no elevator. Husband has heart condition so couldn't do stairs. Then they sent us next door to Sleep Inn, had to walk a little distance. No king bed as I paid for, very small room. Not comfortable at all.
Good place
Disappointed
The front desk gal was lovely & professional. We were extremely disappointed that no where on the booking sight said the pool was out of service & the room , while it was clean, smelled moldy & stale. I won’t be a return guest.
everything was great, thanks
Surprise Pet Fee/ Roach Infestation
The sink outside the toilet room was backed up and did not adequately drain. There was GRIME on the remote, furniture and lamps. I visibly saw dirt in the corners of the room and bathroom. There was an active prescience of roaches. In addition, there were surprise charges not mentioned when I booked, one was the pet fee. I made a notation that I was bringing out 9 pound dog and wanted a dog friendly room. However, when the final charges appeared on my confirmation, there was no mention of a separate pet fee. I did not find this out until we checked in.
The shower in our room would not work at all. Very inconvenient. We were in Charleston for my granddaughter's surgery and couldn't even take a shower. When we notified the staff the front desk person working on 7/25/24 at 11 am was rude and stated that we should have checked the shower when we got there. I could not believe that she said that. I had already notified the night shift person at 6am when I discovered the shower would not work. I asked to speak to the manager and she was just as ruse as the clerk. She made it seem as if though it was our fault that the shower didn't work and that their maintenance person did not make sure our shower worked before we for there. I was very disappointed that the shower was mot working and even more disappointed that the staff was not apologetic at all and treated us this way! We will not be staying at any Best Western again!
The hotel was a nice place to stay. The room was clean and well maintained while we were there. The hardest part was when we got to the hotel was spotting it entrance, Not a big thing but there is not to many places to eat nearby within walking distance. I still would recommend it .
When we arrived my husband got bit by a fleas. Pool was closed to clean on Saturday doesn’t make sense. Breakfast was ok until a see a person who works in the hotel complained about the guest left a plastic bottle on the counter .
We only stayed last minute for 1 night. I searched for pet friendly & searched everywhere on the site for fees associated with pets as well as how to notify them when we booked online that we had a n 8 pound dog... never found anything except pet friendly. We checked in late and checked out early. We left the room cleaner than we found it bc we had to clean up several dead roaches & the gaps in the doors let all kinds of bugs and mosquitoes in and made it hard to keep cool. We didnt complain bc it was fairy inexpensive hotel & we survived the night. The next morning a very rude lady called me and said one of the employees saw we had a dog leaving the room & was trying to collect an extra $100 for a pet fee! The whole room was only $150 for the night and my little Shia-poo is hypoallergenic, doesn't shed, & didn't make a mess at all. She said the pet fee was $30 but since we didn't "notify" them we had a pet, it was going to be $100! I said it was pet friendly and we didn't try to hide anything. She demanded i give her a credit card to pay the extra $100 & when i said i didn't agree to that, she said she was going to charge my credit card i used to pay for the room & threatened something else i couldn't understand before she hung up on me! I haven't heard from them since & still haven't seen the extra charge on my credit card but I will dispute it if it shows up. The lady that checked us in when we got therewas nice but the unclear policies and rudeness are unacceptable
We stayed here one night prior to going on a cruise. We felt safe, the area was convenient to dining, stores and most importantly the port. There were minor things with the room I would consider “unclean” but not enough to prevent me from staying. The only real negative was the huge gap underneath the door that was obviously allowing our “cool air” to escape making it slightly uncomfortable in the room…we solved this by placing a towel in the gap.
Staff was excellent. Rooms looked like they were recently improved and were very clean, but had difficulty keeping humidity in check. Very damp. Bedding was very heavy.
I was not able to stay. After a 12 hour drive arrived to be placed in a second floor room with no elevator, room hot a/c not working, bathroom filthy with fresh urine and dried urine stains on toilet with pubic hair. I checked out with out staying and found another hotel in the area.
Clean room, very quiet, perfect for an overnight beach trip
Clean and Comfortable
Very nice stay, clean, close to peninsula/tourist area, pleasant breakfast. If you come in the rainy season, bring mosquito repellent.
The rooms are very clean. The staff is great and was there when you need them!
Wonderful place to stay
Needs renovation. Carpet looks dirty and sink tap leaking water.
My daughter and I arrived late at night, but I felt safe. Property and room were clean. Staff were very friendly.
Great value!!
Pet friendly hotel, not so far from the city center, but not so close if you visit the city of Charleston. The rooms are clean ,with basic breakfast.
The front desk staff was most helpful and pleasant
This was a wonderful place for a stay for a night. It was extremely noisy surrounding the hotel, but it was also the 4th of July so you can’t really control people setting off fireworks. The only thing I hadn’t been aware of prior to booking was there are no elevators, so I’d recommend trying to get a first floor room if one is available! Shower was kind of dated, but served its purpose, and everything was very clean!
One night stay
Great place to stay. Comfy beds, clean room and the pool was clean.
If you are looking for a safe, clean, convenient place to stay, this property is for you. If you are looking for an all inclusive resort, look elsewhere. The excellent breakfast is a plus, as is convenient, free parking. This property met our needs perfectly. It was a place to return to after planned excursions which was safe, clean, and comfortable. It is an older property which has been updated. The Keurig and microwave were pluses. The refrigerator was not cold enough and not temperature adjustable. There was plenty of ice to be had which was conveniently located. There is a nearby Harris Teeter. This property was close enough for about 15 minute rides to the historic areas.
Lovely property with great views of the beach!
Great times
I've stayed here several times for the pool and breakfast. The rooms are fair, but there was trash left in mine this time and I noticed several small things around the property that needed attention. Worse than that, my room was somehow checked out to another guest after my child and I had already settled in. She walked in, and i thought I'd left the door unlatched by mistake and she'd wandered in. Nope! We compared cards from check in, and the same room number was written on both. When we went to the front desk, they said they had no record of me checking in which was why they were able to check my room out to someone else. They found the paper in some random place and apologized, but that could have been a bad situation.
Need to do better housekeeping cleaning the room was dusters. The refrigerator didn’t work had to move to another room. The pool area wasn’t clean. Will not stay there no more
Very nice hotel will definitely stay at Best Western whenever I travel!!! Very clean and comfortable also the pool was awesome!
Beautiful place
Great place to stay great location and a nice swimming pool and Landscaping and rooms are adorable
Very clean, comfortable bed, welcoming staff
It was clean
Everything was just as expected. No complaints.
Wonderful except the breakfast wasn't good and I couldn't get a receipt. They said I had to get it from Hotels.com. ??
Clean safe good location
Great hotel
Great hotel. The rooms are big and updated. Would definitely stay here again.
Mediocre at best
Checking in was perfect she was matter of fact, efficient and friendly. The perfect person for the job “ I would hire her”
Was decent. Lady at the desk was ok she put us at the very back and hotel was not full. We had big bags and she would not put us on main floor. We had to carry bags up stairs
One of a kind
The check in/check out was quick and I got adapted to needs. The breakfast was good and area clean and welcoming. Will definitely stay here for future visits.
Everyone is so nice, helpful and accommodating. This was our 3rd stay here in the last 5 months. Conveniently located too
Best check in anyone has ever had. Thanks to the woman from Massachusetts
The room had a musty smell. We didn't end up staying there We left.
The cleanliess of the room
The bathroom was too small
Doors slam pretty loudly
The view was fabulous!
Property is very attractive, well-maintained, landscaping is pretty. The room is a little on the small side, But nicely furnished and comfortable. The problem with our stay at this hotel was they would not let us check in a little early. we arrived about an hour early and were told that they did not do early check-in. We have never experienced this before in all of our travels. We’ve always been allowed to check in a little early if we arrived before 300 pm after being on the road for hours. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel. Just don’t try to get in before 3 PM.
Clean Quite rooms excellent pool overall great experience
Close to Charleston.
Easy check-in.
Nicest best western we’ve stayed in other than Saint Simons Island in Georgia. Beautiful garden area around the pool! Close proximity to downtown at an excellent price! In addition, the bed was totally comfortable!
Great location and this hotel was perfect with clean rooms and great breakfast
there was no hot water in the sink and the coffee maker didnt work. You could tell the previous person who stayed there had the same issue as water was still in the maker. You'd think for over $300 dollars for one night when they include taxes, there'd be water and a basic coffee maker. And my husband is a Vietnam vet, and senior citizen and AAA member. There were zero discounts on that price because they said we booked on Expedia. She said if we had booked through them directly they could give us a discount but due to Expedia we could not. So all in all, a great deal of money for a poorly maintained hotel.
Clean and comfortable. Being in the back was excellent with no road noise
The place was nice and the staff were helpful. The location was very good. The shower curtain in the bathroom was ripped throughout the top and the plug for the bathtub broken. The space is very tight in the bathroom.
Only had decafe coffee and teas. Quite but on busy highway. Dinning room hostess was rude. Rooms were clean . Our room was on the back side.
Nice, clean and lovely staff.
2 night event
Value and cleanliness most important.
Would come back
Great, accomodating staff, clean beds and bathrooms. My only recommendation is that the lighting is not very bright and should put brighter lights in bathroom area. With dark walls and low lighting it was hard to put on make up and contacts, etc.
Pleasantly surprised that the room had a cathedral ceiling - it really opened up the room!
Rude employee
The room was very comfortable and very clean. But the lady that checked us in was rude to many people waiting to check in. The next morning my husband went to check what time breakfast was for sure. She yelled at him for coming in the office 10 minutes early.
A convenient room for a night
We were passing through Charleston on way south, room adequate, bed comfortable, pool not open, breakfast was good well stocked. Staff efficient and friendly.
Got a corner room upstairs (nice room vaulted ceiling) Heard lots of sirens but the beds were really comfy and room was squeaky clean. I’d stay again for the price definitely
Very nice and easy checkin. Rooms were very clean and beds comfy. Would stay here again!
The front staff was overly friendly, but nothing major. The room was clean and quiet, and was fairly priced. The facilities were very dated. There was a tile shelf in the shower that was almost falling off, and the shower curtain had several torn/broken hooks so that it drooped significantly. Also the safety lock (chain) on the door had to be forced into the slide and I had to struggle to remove it when I wanted to open the door.
All was great. There was a musty smell in the room that was the only concern, initially it was a bit breath taking with my allergies i am more sensitive to strong smells. One adjust to it during the stay but the smell was not pleasant to the nose.I am sensitive to smells. Some guest it may not affect. Considering the age of the facility it is well kept. Enjoyed the visit.
Good value
Good value pet friendly hotel. Conveniently located. We’ll set up for dogs.
No toilet tissue. Leaky faucet.
