Too expensive for what they offer

Have been coming back for 8 years now and simply love the ambience and the beautiful jungle the villas are nestled within. Throughout the 8 years many things changed - some for the better but also for the worse 1.) prices have increased a lot (which is probably due to the increasing popularity of Tulum and inflation) but at the same time amenities have decreased notably. Usual things you would expect from a hotel in this price range disappeared over the years e.g. slippers, speakers, nespresso machines in the Aire suites. Additionally, this year for the first time there is no more turndown service which used to be provided after your evening shower in the past years. 2.) service at the reception has increased, they now have a concierge service 3.) many activities have been added that can be booked by guests from BeTulum and Nomad 4.) Breakfast hasn’t changed much in options but is as delicious as always 5.) overall service is very friendly 6.) it seemed that they only use copal at night now (used to be in the morning as well) which is very sad if you enjoy the scent :) 7.) updated cocktail options, notably the Condesa As usual I’ve really enjoyed my stay and after 8 times I will probably still return…

Exquisite location & hotel. Everything was overpriced in the hotel but staff was kind and nice during stay. I will never stay here again because 3 weeks after our stay we received a suspicious charge on our credit card from this hotel. Bill was fully settled when we left and on reaching out no one got back to us. It is unsettling to know they still have our credit card information. Still no one reached out I emailed 4 times and reached out to 5 different hotel people on WhatsApp and still nothing.

It’s the perfect getaway to unwind and reset.

Wonderful resort. Friendly staff. Some areas of our rooms needed attention. One section of Shower ceiling was peeling off and falling down. Not that big of a deal for us , but for the amount of money we spent this shouldn’t have been the case. Same thing was happening on our roof top pool, the shaded wood area was collapsing so we were afraid to lay down and relax there as intended. But the common area environment and the vibe of the resort compensated for the little flaws.

Diamond Ring Needed Back!

Have stayed her several times…service has declined…we have stayed here and there sister hotel Nomade…a total of 5 times. It’s been 3 years since we visited. The service is NOT what is used to be. On top of that, I left a diamond ring in the room and messaged them to retrieve it..and they literally have ghosted me since they first responded. I told them exactly where I left it. I have reached out to the concierge another two times day, zero response. Unacceptable. The overall service isn’t what it used to be at all but the lack of responsiveness is really INSANE. I am happy to edit this review WHEN I get A RESPONSE and help with going ring back. We had an ocean front room and loved it.

Beautiful, cozy bohemian hotel right in the jungle! The only thing that wasn’t so great was how humid the room was. It was so humid in the room it started to warp our passports and make the room smell.

This resort was amazing, the staff was very friendly, the concierge was very helpful and always reaching out to ensure our stay was perfect. The property was beautiful and very quiet and relaxing. It is a very unique and one of a kind type of resort, very tropical/jungle vibe but also very relaxing. The restaurant had great food and drinks, the ocean views were amazing and we had such a great vacation here. We will be back!

Overrated overpriced. No service culture whatsoever. This hotel operates as if they are doing you a favor for allowing you to stay there. Don’t recommend wouldn’t come back.

Aunque el hotel es visualmente impresionante y en buenas condiciones, mi experiencia no justificó el precio pagado. Al llegar, pagué por un upgrade de habitación, pero me cobraron dos veces, y aún no he recibido el reembolso. La habitación tenía una piscina, pero una puerta que daba acceso a la piscina no se podía abrir porque la madera de la puerta estaba hinchada. Además, encontré lagartijas muertas afuera, lo que indica una limpieza deficiente. Aunque la habitación estaba limpia en general, estos problemas de mantenimiento y limpieza no son aceptables para un hotel de esta categoría. El servicio del personal si fue excelente. Todos muy amables y atentos. Un aspecto crítico fue la falta de generadores de energía. El sábado, hubo un apagón en Tulum que duró desde la mañana hasta la tarde, afectando el aire acondicionado, el internet y el suministro de agua del hotel. Aunque el hotel afirmó que el apagón afectaba a toda la zona, descubrí que otros hoteles vecinos tenían generadores y operaban con normalidad. Tuve que pasar el día en un hotel vecino porque yo me quedé sin aire acondicionado, sin internet, sin poderme bañar, ni lavar los dientes o las manos o usar el inodoro. En resumen, el Hotel Be Tulum es hermoso, pero mi experiencia estuvo marcada por problemas que no justifican el precio. Los huéspedes deberían verificar la disponibilidad de generadores antes de reservar. Lamentablemente, mi estadía se arruinó por estos inconvenientes.

No recognition of status. Advertised Expedia discount not honored. Room without proper running water for showers. No hot water for most of trip. Non-chalant staff. Unique property but service and infrastructure issues overshadowed everything.

Quiet, nice beach access, staff friendly and helpful, always make sure we had everything we needed.

The property was beautiful. We paid for a luxury and exclusive experience. When we arrived, the staff received us very disrespectfully. Then, the room we paid for was not available and they gave a room that was under the price we paid for. Then, because of a natural disaster, the told us we had to leave with no compensation. The way they handled the logistics and care of their guests was unacceptable. They disrespected us and did not look out for our safety.

Services weren’t the best, I would not be returning to BeTulum

BE Tulum was on my list for a long time. It was all I have expected. Only things that were missing: Iron - Iron board No kettle or coffee machine. This was a big missing part. Also slippers can be given as floor is all natural. I think this could have been complimentary.

Just spent 6 days at Be Tulum and it was fantastic. The staff are friendly and every attentive and the hotel was immaculately well kept, even with the seaweed that is in season right now. Concierge service was great (ours was July and she took care of everything). Food was great too, and the atmosphere magical. Highly recommend!

— housekeeping is terrible — communication with front desk is terrible — concierge is terrible — staff is cordial but given the above they do what they can with the little they are given — no room service — everything is a rip off considering the level

Excellent service Friendly Clean Amazing architecture

This is a very nice hotel. We had a comfortable room in a god condition. The service (housekeeping, restaurants, beach) were top notch. Two things: - the ocean was choppy during our stay. They have no control over that, of course, but the pools should be heated. With the pool ice cold, there was no comfortable swimming option. - drinks on the beach are north of $30 but if you are booking a room here you can afford it

I was in room one ! It was right behind the chekc in desk - you can hear everyone walking in . No privacy - not relaxing. No fridge - best part it was a walk to a beautiful beach and bar on the beach. Very clean

I like that Be Tulum is away from the noise and congestion. But, it’s an easy walk to the busy areas if you want a livelier crowd. The rooms are simply and beautifully furnished. The beach is clean and nice with good service. The vendors walking the beach can be a bit much. But, that’s no fault of the hotel.

We stayed and Garden Suit and there was even no coffee machine in the room. there was no vip amenities except discount on food , even there was free rooms they didn't upgrade the room.

My experience at this hotel left much to be desired. To begin, I had a distressing incident where my headphones mysteriously disappeared, and despite reporting it, they were never recovered. Additionally, the cost of everything at the hotel was exorbitant, and it appeared that the reception had some kind of arrangement with the taxi drivers, resulting in overly inflated fares. Furthermore, I encountered an issue with not receiving a refund for the night I missed due to a missed flight that was n. This aspect of the stay was quite frustrating. Regrettably, my disappointment was not unique, as many others departing from the hotel shared similar negative experiences.

Great. Resort best in tulum

My husband and I found Be Tulum the perfect honeymoon location! We stayed there for three nights and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast one morning which was amazing! The people were incredible, cleaning our room whenever we left the property, stocking up our water, and helping us with everything. The hotel is at the south end of the strip which made it quite a walk from some of the restaurants and activities we planned but with bikes, it was no problem at all. There is a bike rental very close to the property. The property is beautiful with plants and foliage everywhere! We were blown away by the beauty. The beach was swimmable and if you have never been to the Tulum hotel zone, you can walk on the sand to any of the resorts For pool access and restaurants. Just another option besides the street, kinda cool! I would give an 11/10 if I could. Be tulum was worth it for us and I will be returning one of these days!!

Very lovely resort, great for a couple, the rooms were great, felt like a VIP room in the jungle and steps to the beach. The classes were awesome, yoga, beach fire, sauna. Outside the resort wasn’t Great…the food and drinks are expensive and the cab rides are also

The property arguably one of the nicest resorts in tulum. The rooms are nice and clean. Huge bed and sitting areas. All rooms have either a balcony or patio to relax on. Some have dipping pool in the patio if you choose to get that type of room. It is well maintained and clean. You will constantly see workers maintaining the cleanliness of the resort. The beach restaurant’s food is fresh. It has a wide variety of foods. You can relax on a beach couch or lounge chairs on the beach. It is the sister hotel to Nomade (next door) and a weekly activity calendar that is shared. They have many activities such as yoga, breath work, connection wellness and more. This is the place if you want to disconnect from the world and have some peace and quiet to relax. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful with every need.

This place was absolutely beautiful!! The staff were friendly and the drinks were delicious! Love that the beach loungers and cabanas aren’t an extra charge. I just wish there was a gym / use of a neighbourhood gym.

The rooms and property are beautiful. It is a good place to stay if you are looking to get away from the noise. The price of the food are a little overpriced for the portions but the food delicious.

We really enjoyed our stay at Be Tulum. The staff was very friendly and it was in a great location with a beautiful property. I didn’t wanna mention that I got very sick likely with Norovirus toward the end and I’m not sure if that was due to the water at Be Tulum or at a different place but be sure to use only bottled water when you brush your teeth and try not to drink any cocktails or ice in your drinks.

This is the sort of property where you can show up with a couple of swimsuits and no shoes and have a great trip. The lobby is outside and the entire resort is accessed through sand paths. Great vibe on the beach during the weekend. A lot of successful men with younger fit women if I needed to paint the picture perfectly. Live Cuban band that was outstanding. Cabanas on the beach were very comfortable as was the furniture. This is a great place to bring your significant other to get away from the crowds and be amongst like-minded people. Children are not allowed which is great. Our children are adults and we prefer to go to resorts where little children are not running around. This is that sort of place. The room has a modern primitive feel to it but not in a bad way. Huge shower with access internally to an outside shower. Our second room basically allowed our neighbors in the hut next door to watch us take a shower so make sure to mentally note that. I do not think they were watching but they could have. The food at the restaurant was outstanding as were the drinks. I am not speaking in terms of what any place could do they actually listened and delivered. Our first room was near the road and I was receiving calls from other rooms for service on the phone. The staff handled it the next day and moved us. Special thanks to Samantha who did such a fantastic job ensuring our trip went smooth. What a wonderful woman she is and we appreciate her effort.

This was by far the best experience we have ever had. My girlfriend and I went for our anniversary trip and we can’t begin to explain how beautiful and private it feels. July, José Carlos and Javier were amazing and honestly all the staff was so helpful. July surprised us with champagne and cake in our bedroom as a complimentary gift for our anniversary. We can’t wait to go back ! If you’re deciding between tulum and Cancun, Tulum was by far the better experience.

Very earth, water is good quality. Lack of retaurants and watered down alcohol and drinks and very expensive, FAKE ALCOHOL. FOOD is BAD and Expensive also. 2 Rettaurants with Limited Food Choices. DO NOT EAT/Drink at the resort. BYOB!

Unbelievable. This hotel delivered on an unparalleled rainforest resort. Pricey, but worth it.

Five star property

This property is stunning! My room was beautiful, the king bed was very comfortable and the service was great. I ate in the restaurant multiple times and all the food was wonderful. I’d recommend this place for couples or solo travelers. I’m not sure if kids are allowed but I wouldn’t suggest it as it more adult friendly. Business travelers can be assured the WiFi worked well.

This resort is amazing and we will be back. It was clean, amazing food, private rooms that were beautiful. The resort as a whole was one of the coolest places we have stayed. Great place for a couples escape!

Simply amazing one of my fav place to stay in. This was my 3rd time and it was during the pandemic, everything was amazing, safe.

Beautiful room. Beach view was obstructed however and a disappointment but otherwise wouldn’t change a thing.

Beautiful grounds in the jungle, lovely room and beach. However, we took the complimentary beach cruisers out for the ay to explore the town. My husbands bike was in bad condition, as he biked the chain came off the bikes grid and it made him crash, having several injuries to his arms, knee, toes and chest. Luckily he crashed into the side of the bike path and not on the concrete. My bike had no kick stand and was hard to keep up during stops. We get back to the hotel with my husband in dirt and blood and all the staff said was they will fix the bike and we should go to the Farmacia down the street for bandaids. The lack of responsibility and any kind of service to help my husbands situation was incredibly disappointing. They do not go the extra mile to help guests as they try to keep a "no liability" on many things when it comes to situations that "may happen" during your stay.

We absolutely loved Be Tulum and we really can't wait to get back! The location is ideal, right at the end of the "Hotel Zone" so it was quieter than the rest of the street. The beach facing the hotel is just perfect, clear, blue water... It was our most romantic getaway ever. The entire staff was so helpful and so friendly. Diego is an amazing Concierge! And the food! Incredible! Our breakfasts were our favorite meals. As soon as you sit down, you get this fantastic bread basket, fresh fruit plate and juices. Everything we ordered was so delicious. Our room was also just what we were hoping to get... clean, spacious, very well decorated and we used our outdoor shower everyday. We really can't thank Be Tulum enough for making this trip our best trip ever. We will be back soon!! Nathalie & Victor

Nothing short of incredible. We have been all over the world and this is our favorite. Modern rustic luxury with the feel of being in the jungle all at the same time. We were lucky as the water was perfect as well. Samantha was amazing. The Food and drinks were perfect. We want to go back immediately. And we are harsh critics. It deserves 6/5 stars

We had such a wonderful time at BE Tulum. The room was beautiful, the beach was amazing, the food was great and the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. Nothing negative comes to mind.

The property is PITCH BLACK AT NIGHT AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO NAVIGATE. FINDING YOUR WAY TO YOUR ROOMS UNACCOMPANIED COULD TAKE 30 minutes if you are good. Trails are uneven and dangerous. It you fall.....Massages are almost $300 per hour so be careful. A coke....$8.00US. Constantly burning incense is more dense than a forest fire. No exaggeration. And the rooms are so dark you’ll either apply eye makeup on the beach or hope you are always gorgeous. The beach and beach areas are lovely. Food delicious. Staff friendly. Beds too hard and there was a leak in my room coming from the ceiling. But again pitch black and jungle like from dusk till dawn. No joke. Not fun. At all. Gorgeous beach and beautiful area, Tulum.

One word.. GREAT!!!!!.. everything is great,, the rooms, the food, the drinks...

Heaven is a place on earth

Start from the beginning, the atmosphere was you get into the Be Tulum is tremendous. The trees, ocean and white sand is seductive. The staying at the Be Hotel was amazing, we were after a month of our honeymoon trip and took the garden pool room that was fantastic for us. Highly recommend this hotel for your staying and don't forget to order the avocado toast for breakfast. Thank you Be Tulum, it was a pleasure.

This was the most incredible property for the most incredible vacation. We did not want to leave. Our room suffered a ceiling leak after a torrential rain shower and we were immediately moved and upgraded to a new room. The food was impeccable, breakfast especially amazing. The overall experience was excellent, the place is unique blend of modern, natural and nature this place got the recipe just right. The service is excellent.

The service and overall look and design of the property were perfect.

This must be one of the nicest properties in Tulum. Think Robinson Crusoe but luxe. But what made our stay at Be Tulum amazing was the service of the staff. Everyone of them made our stay a very memorable one. However, one main sore point during our stay there was something beyond the hotel's control - the inundation of seaweed on the beaches. It is BAD! If you're thinking of enjoying the pristine beach, you can forget about it. Efforts to clean up the shoreline are made daily but it's futile fighting Mother Nature. If and when the seaweed clears, yes I would highly recommend Be Tulum.

Amazing rooms and property. The food was delicious and staff was very nice. By far the best hotel in the area.

Be Tulum is beautiful. the room was perfect. love how we get our own private area with a pool (wish the pool was heated a little) This is a place to go if you want to get away from the noise to relax, do yoga, get massages and eat delicious food.

Wonderful well run property. Shame about the seawood. Hopefully this is just temporary.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Front desk and staff at the restaurant and beach were excellent. Can’t wait to be back.

First hotel where the property is better in person than website images

I think everything was good. However, there was an instance where I needed to have an extra shower before leaving, after checking out, and they will let me do it. Though I was staying there for 2 days already. Can't really understand what difference would it make if I used the spa shower to clean up before going to my flight.

This was our second time staying here and just like the last it was amazing. The hotel is gorgeous, staff so kind and accommodating, food fresh and delicious, weather was perfect. And I could go on... The only thing that was a bummer was how much seaweed was on the beach. Not the hotel’s problem, but a problem in the area right now. Thankfully though they had a tractor out daily to clean it up. I recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone and will always. It’s the best!
