Rooms were large and modern

I arrived in the evening, so it was a long drive through a lot of unlit country roads. I didn’t realize how beautiful the area was until I woke up the next morning and could see it in the daylight. Definitely a beautiful setting that must become very busy with families and other vacationers in the summer months. The hotel was very quiet, almost to the point that I thought I was the only person there, kind of like The Shining. But the room was definitely very clean and had a beautiful view of the lake. I didn’t get a chance to try out the restaurant or room service. On the downside, the water supply hasn’t been softened, so it must be from a well, or the lake. It was very difficult getting soap off your hands and body. Also, there wasn’t a handheld shower option, and only the one coming out of the wall above eye level.

Hotel was way nicer than we expected for the price. Incredible room, clean, comfortable,modern, classy. Hidden gem. Ate at the restaurant during our stay and food was amazing as well as our waitress, Hanna. We will be back. Cant say enough nice things about this place.

Loved the

The toilet seat was well-worn and unsightly. The mini-fridge wasn't built-in; obviously bought as an afterthought and stuck on top of a small utility table. Other than that, the room/stay was average for the price tag.

While traveling with 2 grandsons who needed to get out & play, The BPI was more than perfect!!! I randomly found it on Expedia; we really didn’t want to stop & stay at an interstate chain hotel with 2 energetic boys. This place was perfect for us with the beautiful pool, the marina piers to fish from, and the gorgeous grounds surrounding the Inn. On-site dinner at the restaurant was perfect as we sat outside overlooking Gun Lake. Price was very reasonable. Staff was very polite, and our room was perfect. Highly recommend!!! 👍

Unbeatable setting, great property all around.

We went for Easter week/spring break. The Easter brunch was wonderful, with a great variety of different offerings that were all good and the staff at brunch were exceptional. We spent five nights in the main inn which has undergone an amazing renovation (almost complete) of all of their rooms and facilities. We chose a Lakeside Deluxe Suite which was very comfortable and a joy to stay in. The fireplace was welcome on the chilly spring days we had as well as the whirlpool tub. The bed was comfortable, the chairs were very comfortable( nap worthy) and the balcony with the view of the lake was was very relaxing. As I said, they are renovating all of their rooms, they were working on the bathrooms when we were there, I would have liked to have known that there would be construction going on. That being said, the small amount of noise wasn't an issue and the contractors were just as pleasant and respectful as the rest of the hotel staff. We did find it odd that in our newly remodeled bathroom, there were no towel bars. It would have been nice to have this option, instead of leaving them on the floor or over the shower door. Overall I would recommend Bay Pointe Inn, Bay Pointe Woods and the Bay Pointe Cottages(we almost booked this, maybe next time) for an enjoyable getaway.

I needed a spot to stay at Gun Lake while doing some work on our family home. Bay Pointe was a terrific option - clean spacious room, friendly service - especially bartender Ricky, and a delicious dinner. I’ve been to Bay Pointe many times for drinks or dinner but this was my first time staying on the property. Bay Pointe exceeded expectations - well done.

Brought issues in my room to attention of several staff at desk and they tried more to give excuses, didn’t know when workers would be onsite but still gave excuses.

This inn is very nice. It has a laid back vibe no hurry or worry. The only thing I can say is it's definitely cheaper to book through a 3rd party!

This is a great location on Gun Lake with beautiful Balcony views. The continental breakfast in the morning was nice. If you go on a Wednesday night in the summer they have a full band live music drinks and dancing with boats that pull up and dock. It is a great time! Check the schedule at Gun Lake live. Rooms were very clean and bright and comfortable.

Superb summertime getaway!

Really enjoyed the experience. Very well appointed room - upscale feeling. Hotel and restaurant staff were outstanding. Very good food and nice breakfast. The only thing that could have been better would have been a "smoke" free policy on the property. There were other guests smoking marijuana in the common out door areas which often times forced us off of our balcony overlooking the beautiful lake and hotel property grounds to avoid the undesirable odor associated with using marijuana. I was very happy that this was a couples weekend and that our children were not with us due to this. I understand that in the State Of Michigan it is legal to use this drug - just wish it was against hotel policy for it to be used in the presence of other guests.

Beautiful hotel

Very friendly staff, beautiful cozy hotel, with very nice onsite restaurant. We ate dinner there and although it was slow, they seemed understaffed (like everyone else) but the food was delicious. Our room was nice, but the bathroom sink was old and cracked and outdated-I'm still rating everything high because it didn't bother me, but it was noticeable. I'm sure we got winter rates, so if I paid a lot more for the room I would be disappointed. I tried twice to get coffee and both times the regular pot was empty-again still rating high because I just got decaf instead. This is all stuff that should be addressed. We were pleasantly surprised with the free breakfast, quiche, yogurt, pastries, fruit, etc. Very nice and served in the nice onsite restaurant. This is a very nice out of the way place to stay that I highly recommend. Very nicely decorated too.

A great getaway

The cabin we stayed in was beautiful and cozy. We really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and felt so comfortable.

Mixed bag

No room cleaning or maid service. The reason according to hotel is covid. However, there is a breakfast buffet even though there is covid. Seems incongruous and a way to blame covid for cutting costs without passing on savings to customer. Hotel staff surly when asking the most innocuous question.

The hotel was beautiful and the rooms overlooking the lake were over the top! Gorgeous,! It was such perfect weather that they had 2 weddings on the lawn while we were there. 🙂👍The food for both dinner and breakfast was superb! Can’t wait to go back there again soon. ❤️👍

You can’t beat a view of the water! Everything was amazing! Breakfast was delicious! If your looking for things to complain about you will find something. Just enjoy yourself. Being surrounded by nature and having several areas to sit and enjoy the views cannot be a bad thing …Ever! I can’t wait to come back with my boat and spend time on Gun Lake!

Quite a letdown.

This is our second visit to this lovely lakefront facility. We were unaware that there was a band performing in the tent next to the water. Even though there were over 20 parking spots at the hotel lot, all the entrances were blocked and teenage attendants were waving everyone to a secondary parking area across the street and behind some houses. It was very inconvenient trying to move our luggage to the hotel. The front desk lady was very nice and said we could park at the main lot but that was not an option when we first arrived. The room was quite nice but with only two lights in the main part of the room we found one that didn't have a light bulb and the other that wasn't plugged in. Upon moving the nightstand to plug in the available light it was quite dirty behind that area. It is a great hotel and venue but this trip was not enjoyable. If we come again we will make sure there is no concert on site.

We had a great time. Unfortunately due to Covid... many restaurants were not open the days we stayed. Especially our hotel restaurant. But we made the best of our stay.

We stayed at Bay Pointe Inn July 4 - July 7, Sunday through Wednesday. This was a "holiday" week since many people had 7/5 off work. I was really surprised when we came down for breakfast on Tuesday and they were tearing up the carpet in the hallway between the lobby and restaurant! That has to be one of the busiest weeks of the year for a resort like this... Overall it was a nice place though and I'd stay again. The room was clean and I loved the down comforter and extra pillows of various types. The AC didn't work quite right - it was cold but not pulling out the moisture as it should have. We didn't complain though and just let them know as we departed...probably should have said something the first day. I do want to note that the "cottages" shown in the pictures are not on the same lakefront property as the hotel. It was a little confusing. Overall though, this was a really nice little resort!

The property was very nice. The room was beautiful. It was very quiet. What we did not like was the ambience in the restaurant, it was noisy and a lot more casual than we were led to believe. However, the food was excellent. we found the beds in our room to be extremely uncomfortable. We were scheduled to stay two nights, Sunday the 20th and Monday the 21st. We left for home on Monday morning with an early check out. Very disappointed. It was my gift to my husband for Father’s Day.

Lovely

Lovely hotel with great service. The only thing is that it is very loud in the evening with the music from the wedding receptions. We loved the lake view, but it came with the music until 11pm. We would definitely stay again, just glad we had our baby’s sound machine with us.

Misleading

The room we booked was actually in a cottage that is part of the hotels wedding venue that is not on the water. Its not even on the same property. It was a far walk to use the hotels amenities. The other issue we had was that all of the other units we rented by wedding guests and they were all parting at the reception and even after the reception by the fire pit until well after midnight. Don't get me wrong. If you were with the wedding party it would be a great set up. I just don't feel that they should offer them to other hotels guests that aren't part of the wedding.

Bay Pointe Inn is very, very nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. Well decorated entry and rooms. The bed was very comfortable. The restaurant/ lounge is great with a nice relaxing view of the lake. Great menu! The food was done perfectly and our server, madeline, was friendly, cheerful and attentive. There was a great selection of breakfast foods and choices of freshly made hot foods. There were, still, some construction debris in the hall ways because of remodeling, but means it will be even better for our next visit! This Inn is going to be very popular, with all it has to offer!

The room was nice to be able to see the lake , but the wall and the door isolation was very bad , I can hear the foot steps and all talking voice , the breakfast was not great at all . I’m very disappointed about this experience

I enjoyed my visit so much that I stayed an extra day. I was having too much fun in that beautiful environment. Despite the fact that Bay Inn was in the process of remodeling, my room looked as advertised, I was never disturbed by any noise, and the staff was the very definition of quality service. Beverly stood out to me as being very friendly and knowledgeable. Without question this has become my absolute favorite location for my luxury "Me" time.

The property was under construction and I was not advised until after I booked the stay. The hallways had debris in them, and it was rough on the feet even in shoes. The pool area was a wreck, dirty towels were over flowing and the hot tub was not functioning properly. The restaurant hostess or front staff (seemed like teenagers) when I asked about if the place served cocktails or just wine had no clue what that was and had to go get an older woman who helped me. The woman merely gave me a drink menu. They couldn't spell and asked my name several times. The food was not that great for the cost. We also got it as carry out, in which they did not provide any napkins or cutlery. And 2 containers tipped over in the bag. Finally at 3 am we gave in to call the front desk about the noise disturbance in the hallway and room.next to us. We have an 8byear old and 2 year old who had to hear the neighbors foul, very foul mouths for quite sometime. About 4 am we were able to get settled back in. By then our room was so hot because we continued to run the heat to try to cover all the noise. They did ask us if we wanted to change rooms, I responded no, the people causing the problem should move I should not have to move 2 small children in the middle of the night. The continental break was cereal and cereal bars. The front desk staff did not even say a word to us when we left. Our 2 year old was very cranky due to lack of proper sleep and was screaming going on the door.

Quick Getaway to Michigan

By Pointe is a small, charming hotel directly on Gun Lake. The service was very nice, and while it was low key due to Covid restrictions, we enjoyed a peaceful night there.
