Welcome was far from warm - hardly looked up from desk sometimes. Room never cleaned in whole time we stayed. Fridge was warm. Badly designed room. Only saved by the incredible view

Our recent stay at this hotel was nothing short of amazing. The location is superb, making it easy to explore all the local attractions. Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with a wide variety of options to suit every taste. The highlight of our stay was the incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. We faced a sudden change in our flight schedule and needed a late checkout. Erdem went above and beyond by making a phone call and arranging for us to stay until 9 pm free of charge. I had a wonderful stay at Bankerhan Hotel. The staff are all wonderful and always ready to help with recommendations and directions. It's clean, safe and centrally located.

Got free upgrade to a sea view room. Room was clean and cozy. Staffs were all super friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Location was extremely convenient, 5 mins walk to both Galata Bridge and Galata Tower. You can jump onto T1 tram from the Galata bridge station to go south for famous mosques, old palace and great bazaar. Highly recommend.

Our twin room was small but we were only there to sleep, so was fine. The hotel was spotless, breakfast was fresh and plentiful, and our receptionist was fantastic.

Nice place though up a short steep hill. Good value, especially for the money. Great staff and breakfast.

Location is great, close to public transportation, Galata Bridge & Tower and easy to walk to other neighborhoods in the New City. Breakfast staff lovely and night front desk staff helpful.

Overall excellent but could be improved by bedside tables. Overhead shower was a bit weak (side shower fine). Shaving mirror loose. Somewhere to hang the large towels would be good. This was room 401

We have been waken up in the middle of the night by strong sewage odours. Room was not soundproof, we were hearing people shouting in the corridor in the middle of the night. We didn’t feel safe. To turn the bathroom lights on, we had to turn on the lights of the whole room so you can’t go to the bathroom without waking up your partner.

The hotel is well located and offers a good alternative to larger hotels locally. Overall a good choice, but could do with some upgrades.

Very Basic

The hotel is very, very basic. The breakfast is disappointing. There is zero amenities in the room. The bathroom wall is glass, so when one needs to go in the middle of the night, you have to turn on the light, thus waking your partner. While the map shows it is near to public transport, there are some steep steps to negotiate. I will not stay there again

Very accommodating staff.

The Hotel was in a very cool district and hidden away in the back streets. It's located down a steep and narrow street, with historic steps near by. A really interesting area and is close to the port and Metro

Location, staff, and overall aesthetic design were amazing! They don't let you control the Air Conditioning System though and the room ran hot, difficult to sleep because of it and I couldn't change the temperature. At this price point, you should be able to control the temperature of your own room.

Champions League Istanbul

Th hotel was exactly as described. Very clean and friendly staff. The location is fabulous as it's just a short walk to the metro and lots of bars and restaurants

The staff was very helpful with making arrangements for activities snd transportation; breakfast was delicious and convenient, the room was comfortable and quiet. Location was fantastic for the activities we planned. The Galata area is on a hill, steep in spots with cobblebrick, narrow streets and may not be suited for all

Perfect location with friendly staff

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Kerem at the front desk was very helpful. His suggestions where to eat and where to go locally were excellent, never disappointed yet very satisfying. This hotel is where all the good restoring , cafes and bars and of course many historical places. No need to rent a car and don’t because nowhere to park. I’ll definitely come back to this place next time

Room is super small - difficult to get inside with luggage. The are some scratches on the walls and furniture that are quite visible. Location is good for tourists

Good nice hotel

Wonderful staff who were helpful, even as soon as my booking was confirmed! The airport transfer they arranged for me went seamlessly, the wifi is great, and breakfast was really pleasant with nice variety of hot and cold options available. There was construction all night and seagulls in the area but the location was otherwise great. Sometime being in a busy neighborhood that is convenient for walking and transportation is louder - that's the trade off. Amenities were nice, including an elevator! Overall very pleasant stay.

Awesome stay

The place was great! Very high quality. Also super clean. Some items in the room were certainly not new, or in used condition. Slightly torn blinds, missing nightstand. But overall it was great still and functioned well. And the service was really exceptional, very helpful, friendly and capable. We also got free breakfast each day, which was great. Highly recommended.

I woke up in the middle of the night with a strong stench like a sewer smell. I know that the smell is so overpowering so I went down to the reception and had a staff come up and figure out what is wrong. I was told to just open the window as he has no ability to move me to a new room. I ended up unable to sleep as the wind was causing the blinds to smack the walls. I ended up checking out early, I then saw the staff and followed up about it, the Manager was present apparently the staff briefed her. The Manager was livid with the staff for telling her about it. I told the Manager about my ordeal and she was obviously upset with me and being rude. I decided not to argue and left.

A wonderful, affordable boutique hotel in the heart of Istanbul. Perfectly placed for access to the tourist attractions and the vibrant local area. We have a great time. Low key attentive staff. Lovely vibes. Would definitely go back.

Great place to stay

Excellent stay!

Was a very nice place to stay & easy to find even at 11pm at night. I was only here for 1 night so can’t comment on rest of hotel, as I didn’t use facilities.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Galata. Room had amazing light from the east and north, great artwork, full breakfast, very quiet, walkable to main sights. A few glitches - water was only lukewarm, wifi went out the morning I was there, but staff were very accommodating and these did not diminish from the pleasant stay.

The hotel stipulated that I stay the whole period in the hotel, and I have no right to make a check out if I did not like the hotel, and that I pay the full amount in advance!? I refused to stay with them

Shower was not good at all water remain in shower side! The room very tiny and not that much clean, nevertheless the staff was friendly and they booked us the cap on time.

Comfort in Galata

The room was very quite and comfortable. the shower and bed were very comfortable. The woman at the front desk was very polite.

Great location near Galata Tower and pretty much walking distance to all the touristy areas. There are a lot of hills around the area as well. We appreciated the quiet area and the staff was great!! Zeynep was so sweet and gave us recommendations for eating around the area.

Great area - right by the Galata Tower and multiple cafes. The staff was excellent and helped us get a Taxi at 3am as well as scheduled our COVid test prior to leaving and printed our results and attestations needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately, our AC unit wasn’t working. Not too big of a deal as it was cold weather. The bathroom was clean but small - we did get whiffs of what smelled like sewer from the shower drain but this was an issue at multiple other hotels we stayed at. I’d recommend this hotel to any traveler. I’d probably stay there again just because of how helpful the staff was.

A very nice hotel with an amazing view! I enjoyed my stay at the Bankerhan immensely. The room was a little on the small side, but with it's features and amenities I was extremely happy. Electric shades, very nice and modern bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Open up the widows and what an amazing view! I loved the art in the hallways- even took a high-def. picture to see if I could recreate them. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Not far from Galata Tower. I would have no problem staying there again. For the price, it's much better then others in price ranges are even higher.

LOVED this hotel, I stayed there 3 times Oct/Nov 2020. Great location, minutes from the Galat Tower, the hotel sits at the end of a cul de sac it is so peaceful with no traffic noise to deal with. The rooms are beautiful, tastefully decorated with beds that I could have laid in all day. The bathroom is enclosed by glass so the room does not feel claustrophobic. The manager, Zahnick, ( sorry I might have misspelled her name) was so incredibly helpful. She upgraded me to a bigger room on my 2nd & 3rd stay there. She offered the use of the kitchen as it was not in service due to Covid, she was also so concerned about my well being while I was in Istanbul, it was so nice to feel the charm of a boutique hotel manager after years of staying in a big hotel chain. This hotel will alway be my "go to" place to stay when I am in Istanbul. To the staff at The Bankerhan Hotel, thank you so very much for everything.

Excellent hotel, central location

Excellent hotel in great location! 2 min walking from Galata and less than 10 min walking to Eminonu. Wstayed in the room with the sea view, couldn’t ask for more. The hotel managers and people who works in the hotel are very friendly, professional and helpful.

I stayed in two different rooms. The second one was very small. It was kind of ok for me but as it was double room, it would be definitely too small for two. Overall, the hotel has great location, it's clean and staff is very helpful.

We loved this hotel! Clean and the location was perfect!!! Staff was friendly and helpful. If we come back to Istanbul we will stay here again without question. Another review stated that Taxi’s won’t come to this hotel. I will say that the location is a bother for drivers however we did witness Taxi’s coming there. One did ask us to come down to the street below so not a big deal. Fat Taxi picked us up at the door for our ride to the airport.

Cozy nice spot

Room was comfortable and bathroom was really modern and clean, reason i didn't give a full 5 stars was because the location doesn't allow easy access for taxis so you'll have to walk over to the next street to hop on, ok if you are travelling light but a problem if you have large luggage.

I have been pretty much been living in hotels for the past 3 months from Greece to Spain and now here in Istanbul and I have to say this is by far the most comfortable and hospitable place I’ve stayed in! The manager and staff have been incredibly accommodating as my flight was cancelled initially and they just changed my reservation date even though I’d paid a non refund price. I was given a room selection and offered any further help. The bed is so comfortable and room is cleaned every day. I was meant to only stay for 7 nights and have booked a further 13 so that’s definitely saying something! Lastly the location is perfect!

The hotel is great! Rooms are just like in photos, everything is clean, comfy and quite new. I’ve booked a single room, but as probably there were not so many guests (due to pandemic) I was provided with double room. The hotel also allowed me to check out later. I will definitely recommend this hotel and likely would stay here again.

A clean, quiet place

Extremely accommodating staff upgraded me to a larger room at no extra cost. Quiet street, which is nice. Walking distance to a bunch of sites/cafes. No breakfast, so you must fend for yourself, but options abound nearby. Lobby a little gloomy, lightened by a friendly house cat.

A new experience in a bed and breakfast hostel

It's a good hotel for couples who have no heavy luggage. It's was very difficult to make shopping because all taxis refuse to drop us to hotel front door due to location of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a very nice welcome and a good stay. Room was small but well set out. Only thing to consider is that there is only a frosted glass door between you and the toilet so there is not much privacy!

We really would reccomend this hotel to anyone considering it. The staff were very friendly. The room was clean and quiet and the breakfast was tasty and had a good range of options. The bathroom did have a high ceiling and the door did not go all the way to the top so you can hear everything going on in there.

Staff is very helpful. Only problem room was so little. But anyway ambiance and overall feeling was very good. Building situated in the perfect place.

Not only was the property centrally located in Galata and near by Karakoy, but had beautiful sunrise views over the sea! The staff were top notch as well. Would definitely stay here again !

I highly recommend staying at this hotel. 1) The location is perfect its in the heart of karakoy. All the best restaurants and bars are walking distance. Galata tower is a 10 min walk. 2) The staff is excellent, very helpful and professional. The manager was so sweet she realised i was running late for my flight. She came up to the room to help me pack. Mr Berkan at the reception would go out of his way to help be it getting my laundry done at midnight or helping me find restaurants.

Room was bigger than standart hotels, with a huge bed and we loved it. We had a very good rest in the room after our trip and could easily go everywhere we want. I would choose this hotel again if I need to stay there.

The interior decoration is clean and neat. The hotel is not directly accessible by cars but is still within walking distance to nearby Metro and tourist spots. I recommend to stay here for 1-2 day city trip!
