great staff and locatiin

Lovely hotel. Staff couldnt be more helpful. Very accommodating,helpful and all round pleasant stay at this lovely hotel.

A beautiful hotel 10 mins walk from Kazimierz to the south and the main square to the north, situated right next to Wavel Castle. The staff were excellent, courteous and approachable. Reception was always staffed and could answer any question we had or advice we needed. Take advantage of the MSHG card for a free gift, normally a drink, at restaurants within the consortium. Do make sure you get the card back at each place you visit, however. The price was a little bit on the steep side for the size of the rooms, but makes up for it with “the small things”…you will not be disappointed. You will be comfortable.

We had a great stay here! The staff were all very welcoming, very friendly and always happy to help with anything we needed! The hotel was just like the photos, such a nice feel to the place. We ate at the restaurant a few times and the food was just amazin! The service brilliant. We could not fault them! We also looked into most restaurants in old town, and It had to be one of the nicest settings we seen!

Amazing hotel in a beautiful part of Krakow. We were here for 3 nights. Perfectly located for exploring the city. Hotel was exceptionally clean, food great and ambience nice. I’d stay here again without hesitation!

I'll be back

The hotel is situated just outside the main square but you'll still hear a few drunks if you leave your windows open at night. It's bearable and not the fault of the hotel. Taxis will leave you around the corner near an outdoor cafe since automobile traffic isn't allowed on Grodzka after 9 AM. The hotel is clean and the art is whimsical. It's a luxury hotel that isn't cliche. Of the many four and five star hotels I've stayed while in Krakow, this is the only one I'd book again.

Beautiful boutique hotel with professional staff

We spent 3 memorable nights at the Balthazar Design Hotel and enjoyed every minute. Our room was clean, well-appointed, and very quiet. The hotel restaurant was absolutely top-notch, having just received a Michelin star for 2024. Since the hotel is located right in historic Krakow, the majority of the must-see sights are only steps away. Don't miss going to see the fire-breathing dragon along the water! The hotel staff were always available and happy to help in any way possible. We highly recommend this hotel and would happily return if we find ourselves back in Krakow.

Nice, clean hotel with good service. Great location near Wawel Castle and the Jewish Quarter, in the pedestrian area of Old Town but just a few steps from the road where taxis and Ubers can pick you up or drop you off. Breakfast was good, but on the expensive side. Overall a great choice.

Excellent hotel

I loved this hotel. I had a superior king room. The room was very clean and the bed was very confortable. The AC worked like a charm. You could make your riom.an ice box if you wanted to. The bathroom was nice size, but the shower was tiny, which is the only negative thing about the property. The front staff was always friendly and ready to help.

Good location small hotel

Hotel Balthazar is located in a very good location. The hotel is richly designed and beautiful. The 5 star rating of the hotel is however questionable because they lacked alot of 5 star ticks such as no room service after 10pm, 1 lift, no 24 hr porter, etc. The bathroom toiletries were nolton brown which were great. Our room was on the 3rd floor which didnt give us any view outside as the windows are positioned very high. The room was also quite small.

Staff was very helpful getting us taxi and review of restaurants. They also provided us with a converter to charge our phones.

Beautiful hotel in a prime location. Staff very friendly. Very clean. The only thing i would change if i could was someone opening and closing a door multiple times at 6 in the morning. They have super heavy and hence noisy doors. Hardly the hotels fault though. Worth the expense for experience and location.

My only regret is that our stay was too short

Our room was lovely but unfortunately was to back of hotel so no view and other ac units running meant we couldn’t sleep with windows open. The hotel is in an excellent position walkable to bars, restaurants and historic buildings. Very clean and comfortable room

Great Hotel

This is a great hotel. The location is great. It's convenient to walk anywhere within the city and you can always find your way back since it's right next to the castle. The hotel itself is creatively decorated with a very fun vibe. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We didn't have the breakfast, but did have a dinner at the attached restaurant and it was wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Wonderful little hotel that's located in the perfect spot between the Old Town and Kazimierz. Wawel Castle is literally around the corner at the end of the block. The room was a little small, but it's what I would expect from a boutique hotel in a very old part of town in a European city. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Everywhere we wanted to go during out 4 days in Krakow was within a few minutes walk in either direction. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, but we did have 1 dinner on our first night at the hotel's restaurant--wonderful and an incredible value coming from the US.

Unfriendly staff - rooms are super small and the bathroom smelled like sewer - a one-star is generous just based on that

Truly unique hotel with individual decor in each room. Fantastic on site restaurant, Fiorentina, that was one of the best meals we ever had! Attentive and helpful staff, wonderful location. Highly recommend but be sure to book dinner! You won’t be disappointed! Scrumptious!

The location was great and the hotel was connected to an amazing restaurant. Heated floors in the bathroom were a nice touch, transportation to the airport was easy to organize, and I enjoyed the daily “fun facts/legend descriptions” left by the staff concerning the city and surrounding areas.

This was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff were attentive and endlessly helpful. The design, magnificent. The restaurant, fabulous. Great breakfast, amazing dinner. The rooms are stunning, comfortable and equipped with everything you can possibly need. Even loofa pads in the bathroom. The only thing to be aware of is that you cannot drive up to the hotel. Google maps is no help. But there is a taxi stand just around the corner. the location is wonderful, walking distance to almost all of the wonders that Krakow has to offer.

This is a really great hotel in all respects. Clean, high quality furnishings and decor, pleasant and helpful staff, good value, etc, etc. It is very conveniently located for all attractions in the Old Town. Highly recommended.

Fantastic hotel . Spotlessly clean and comfortable. All the staff were amazingly helpful . My only criticism is the breakfast pricing - one cost regardless of what you have and £24 is a bit pricey. Would definitely return

A beautiful hotel, rooms were spacious, clean and beautifully furnished. Only criticism is there is no bar/lounge area which is a shame as it would be nice to have somewhere just to sit and chill and have a drink!

Beautiful hotel. We were in the attic room which even though we were not tall, when getting out of bed the ceiling is low so got a few bumps on the head. More storage space, drawers or tables would be useful and a light in the wardrobe to assist with finding items in the shelving areas. No Netflix on TV as advertised, IPAD provided buffered. Lovely staff and very near to market square.

Just Wow! - The bits that are good to know, a really nice position for everything you'll want to do in Krakow, close enough to walk to, but distant enough to be quiet. Then the service... Every single person at Balthazar made us feel like we were their best friend and most important guest all in one. Genuinely the best and most honestly welcoming hotel we've ever stayed in!! A beautiful hotel in a fantastic location right next to Wawel Castle and only a 5 minute walk to the main square, just follow the road the hotel is on! The room was lovely, with a large comfortable bed. The hotel has a fantastic (fine dining) restaurant but unfortunately does not have a bar area for guests to relax and enjoy a drink without sitting in the formal dining area. Highly recommended considering this luxury hotel if visiting Krakow.

Great hotel. Nice room, good amenities in room, very attentive staff. Did not get hotel breakfast, as it was expensive. Easy to walk to coffee shops, etc. Super location for walking to Old Town or Jewish district. We stayed for 4 nights. Highly recommend.

A beautiful hotel in an amazing location in the old town with easy access to trams and the Jewish quarter. The staff were very helpful including arranging a packed lunch for tour. The restaurant in the hotel is outstanding. The best food I ate in Krakow

There was no parking nearby and no one to help us with the bags. We were told to park at least a kilometre from the hotel then waited for over 40 minutes for a taxi to take us and our bags to the hotel.

Superb hotel in a central location. Restaurant is devine. Staff are amazing. The place is sparkling clean. Mini bar is well stocked and toiletries, coffee supplies are high end.

Balthazar is a boutique hotel conveniently located in the old town. Staff are professional and friendly. Room was quiet and comfortable, and the amenities were high quality.

The hotel staff were all excellent giving a good welcome and giving help with whatever we asked for. The only reason for a slight drop on some scores is that the mattress is rather hard and the duvet was rather flat , not very fluffy. Would expect a bit better for this level of hotel. Restaurant is worth a mention as both breakfast was excellent and the dinner we had there. Also tried out one of their other restaurants in town which was also very good.

Excellent stay. Quiet, clean, classy. Can’t think of anything I didn’t like.

Excellent place to stay if visiting Krakow

The hotel was amazing, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Our first morning was an early start (6.30) and the hotel made us the most delicious packed breakfast, had breakfast 2 mornings of our stay and to say was outstanding would be an understatement. Our last night we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant and I have to say it was absolutely amazing. We decided on the 5 course taster menu and it was more like 9 courses. Our room was spacious and very tastefully decorated with everything we needed. We will definitely be back

I loved everything about my staying! The bed was so confortable that I slept like a baby! The room was beautiful. I loved the personal touch such a leaving sheets of paper with difrent stories about Krakow, the forecast for Krakow etc. Also, we needed to check out really early, and the front desk guy made us cofee to go.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location

Excellent choice of hotel in a fabulous location for easy access to all the attractions of Krakow. Prestige hotel, very friendly staff, my only question would be we paid for the deluxe room but it felt a lot smaller and darker than the category down. The pillows on the bed were rather uncomfortable to sleep on but just a minor criticism as I do suffer with a bad neck. Overall excellent though.

Beautiful property placed in an ideal walking space for Krakow. One way is Old Town and the other way, the Jewish quarters. Highly recommend and beautifully designed rooms.

We had such a lovely stay at the Balthazar Design Hotel in Old Town Kracow. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was clean, beautifully designed, and well appointed. A welcome respite from the summer days and nights in Kracow. There are also 9 restaurants related to the hotel in and around Old Town Kracow, one of which is Fiorentina which shares space with the hotel. You have to add that to the experience. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for taking care of us!

This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are wonderful and luxurious, the staff are great, and the location is perfect...lively area outside, easy walk to the main square...lots of hip cafes within easy walking distance (try Yolk Coffee and Pastry)

Cannot fault this hotel. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome (and we looked fairly dishevelled having walked from Krakow Glowny station in 30 degree heat). Staff were amazing. Friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful! We stayed in a superior double room and it exceeded our expectations. The decor, amenities, coffee machine...it was everything a 5-star hotel should be. Location wise, in the middle of old-town, close to restaurants, walkable to the main attractions, was perfect. Highly recommended.

I would highly recommend the Balthazar Design Hotel. The location was central to the majority of the major attractions in Krakow, the staff were superb in all aspects, and the in-house restaurant, Florentina, was one of the best meals I had in Krakow, even compared to a two star Michelin restaurant. I would definitely return to Balthazar Design Hotel if I visit Krakow in the future.

Fabulous, central hotel

We had an excellent stay at this beautiful hotel. The location is excellent, a few minutes walk from the main square. All staff were superb, from checking in to checking out. The room was exceptional. Lovely little personal touches, hand written notes and useful information sheets. The bathroom products were top quality and replenished every day. I ould definitely stay here again.

Amazing small boutique hotel! The location is ideal, right in between the Wawel and the square. You are staying in the authentic old Krakow row building but beautifully renovated and furnished. The staff is very polite and helpful. Definitely will return! Thank you
