The hotel was walking distance from restaurants and the beach. The room and bathroom was small. The price was higher than it should be. Breakfast was good.

Very accommodating and friendly!

The hotel and property is well managed and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Punta del'Este is an older seaside resort,which has some areas which needed to be upgraded. And you better get used to faceless high rises facing the beaches and dunes

A perfect place to stay while in Punta del Este

This hotel was our first experience in Uruguay and it was wonderful. The staff were kind and very helpful. The breakfast is complete, and you can ask for eggs to be cooked to your liking, and always with a smile. The hotel is in a perfect location, lots of restaurants around and close to it. The big bus terminal is a short taxi ride away, but you can also have a short walk to take local buses that take you to places you want to visit. Overall, the Awn Boutique + Design Hotel is a perfect gem and we were very pleased with our stay in this cozy and very nice hotel.

Very nicely decorated, good breakfast, quite location.

The property is not very well maintained and does not reflect its advertised condition. Nobody seems to do any basic upkeep. I would call it tired in need of a great cleaning and a coat or two of paint, and replace the pool furniture while your at it.

Cute weekend getaway hotel

We liked this hotel for a 2 night stay in Punta del Este , check in was easy , the staff were helpful. The outside seating area at the front is really nice especially while waiting for a taxi or friends calling in. The pool area was cute and inviting,the beds around the pool were a lovely bonus, the pool is small but very warm. We enjoyed relaxing there with a glass of wine. Breakfast was continental , there was a good selection of juices , meat, cheese, fruit and sweet items and they also served scrambled eggs, coffee was nice. We did not go to the spa so can’t comment. The bedroom was compact but had all we needed, the bed and bedding were good quality and super comfortable The bathroom was disappointing, it was very small and the tiles really need replaced, it looked like the rooms had been refurbished but the bathroom had not, I would have preferred a modern shower instead of an old shower over an old bath. Overall we were happy with the hotel , the staff and the service provided.

Overall the property is good. Buffet breakfast is good, although limited on fruits.

Very well situated between La Barra and La Manza , which are the two top destinations in Punta

TWO DAYS AT AWA

It was my third time at AWA. As usual the services was great, the hotel is clean and very comfortable. Easy access to everything.

Expensive for the amount You are paying, the breakfast isnt that good And the rooms are ver small, the location is good But not great, You have to drive to the beach

Birthday celebration

Hotel facilities and staff were nice. Breakfast was very good. Pool and SPA were small. I wanted to get some sun, but the pool was mostly on the shade. Parking is on the street. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Beautiful hotel in a quieter part of the city

I was there off season and enjoyed the fact and that foot and vehicle traffic were light. The hotel itself is tastefully designed, light, airy and includes beautiful, comfortable outdoor sitting areas, one with a small pool. Landscaping is also lovely.

Boutique hotel in Punta del Esta shopping area.

The AWA is the second Hotel on the Boulevard Gourmet, which is the local name for this street, because there are 9 very good restos here, some of them in hotels, like the AWA. In my book, the AWA gets the boutique hotel concept right. The staff is very warm, friendly, and accommodating. The in house restaurant, LIFE, is superb. They serve a very good prix-fix lunch, 3 courses, about $20, and will serve you at the pool. The Spa has a large jacuzzi, a dry sauna, steam room, gym, and massage rooms. The pool and back deck are large enough for sunning and relaxing. Overall, the AWA is better than the Sisai, but you can't go wrong with either one. The AWA has smaller rooms, i will say that, so if you want a big personal space, go with the Sisai. If you want superior service and in house dining, and a real spa, go with the AWA. You can walk to the Punta Shopping Center in 10 minutes, which is another good feature (Original language cinema is the top feature). To walk to the beach, i recommend the Playa Brava, a 15 minute walk from the AWA.

We spent 5 nights there. Nice little hotel, good and pleasant staff. But we think it is too pricey for what is is. Spa is basically non existent and the fitness room has only 2 treadmills and 1 ellipticall, a bit short....

Beautiful boutique hotel

Beautiful hip hotel. Large elegant lobby. Farther from beach than I expected however hotel was quieter and out of the honky tonk area. Beautiful buffet breakfast. Self serve coffee which is a plus. It was a beautiful morning so we brought out breakfast to the pool area. Only negative is we were charged $8 to rent a bike for one hour. That felt chintzy.

Very nice hotel.

Situated in a quiet site, just a few kilometers from the Peninsula and the best restaurants of Punta del Est. I recommend to rent a car.

Clean, modern boutique hotel with friendly staff who spoke English well. We booked a king room but were put in a standard room with twin beds that was cramped. Also the music from the hotel bar was extremely loud and bled into our room on the 1st floor... not what you'd expect from a "wellness spa" and a little disappointing to be honest.

Fantastic hotel

I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone. Based on quality of service, which was very professional and dedicate, and the quality of the premises and rooms. The hotel restaurant is amazing, not only is beautiful and trendy but the food is delicious. Breakfast was lovely but I would have splash on something hot like scramble eggs or any other hot snacks, for us there were too many sweet snacks that I am not very fond of at breakfast time.Overall I found this hotel exceptional!!

Quality shows in everything they do for you.

Breakfast was exquisite. Fruit, breads, deserts, coffee. Includes the use of the hot sauna and a wet sauna. Plus jaccussi. Place was quiete and calming.

Great Experience

The entire hotel was extremely clean inside and out. I have never felt to comfortable away from home. The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Hotel restaurant was one of the best I have experienced as well. This is my go to hotel in Punta Del Este.

Great hotel experience in Punta Del Este!

The hotel was wonderful and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great every morning, and the hotel is only a few blocks walk to the beach. Would definitely return to AWA Boutique Design Hotel upon our next visit to PDE.

Elegance and warmth!

Beautiful, classy hotel. Staff went the extra mile by taking pictures, helping me get assistance for a dead car battery on my rental, and helping with directions to nearby shopping. The morning breakfasts were outstanding!

Great staff, nice room.

The staff was great, the food was good, but a little expensive. I liked the bar and live music. The offer chairs for the beach too and helped with a rental car. A good hotel for the price.

classy and charming

Punta Del Este is a very crowded place with a LOT of places to stay. This hotel is a bit off the beaten path, not right next to the beach, but still close if you have a car for a 10 minute drive, or don't mind a bit of a walk. Or just stay at the pool here - it's small but classy & charming. The food (both dinner and breakfast) was excellent.

Excellent boutique hotel, great stay

Sharp hotel. Great lobby. Great restaurant. Great location to other high end restaurants. Staff was very helpful. This is coming from a high maintenance New Yorker who booked last minute.

Superb staff and accommodation

We have extended our stay twice since original booking. The breakfast buffet is fantastic with fresh cakes and pastries everyday. The cleaning staff are that good, that when we accidently placed the do not disturb card on the door at 9.30pm the wrong way around, we had a phone call from reception asking us if we wanted the maid, was everything alright. The staff from reception to restaurant were also fantastic being very abliging and helpful. The staff made our stay a pleasure.

Beautiful!

Quit pleasant hotel, well kept in a quiet street. I tried the massage and the hammam and it was a nice treat. Complimentary breakfast was delicious

OK but overpriced and mildewy shower

While the public spaces in the hotel were attractive and well-kept, the room itself left something to be desired. In particularly, the grout of the shower floor tiles was very mildewy. The bed was quite comfortable and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Like everything else in Punta del Este, everything was overpriced. 35 USD to rent a bike for the day is a bit steep.

Great find for boutique hotel in Punta

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. Staff was great, pool area, breakfast, spa, and other amenities were all better than expected for a boutique hotel in otherwise overpriced and not always service-friendly Punta Del este during high season. We would definitely recommend AWA to anyone traveling to Punta.

Lovely Modern Boutique Hotel

Great design oriented neighborhood. Easy access to great shopping around the corner and some good restaurants and everything else IF you have a car or don't mind taxi's. We loved the decor, the great breakfast and the helpful staff. I recommend it highly.

Nice place but small room!!

This is a nice hotel with good location, but small bedroom...and you can listen everything from the other rooms...

Good hotel, too far

Punta del Este is a small town, you are only here to be in the middle of restaurant and close to water, but this hotel is too far and in an inconvenient location. I know the cab ride is not much, but still the inconvenience of calling or finding a cab, and waiting. Also tries to walk once, it's not a nice road for walking. this is kind of town that you have to only be in the middle of the downtown. other than that hotel was very good, loved the restaurant and lounge downstairs. the pool and the music is fantastic. most of the concierge people are nice, some were arrogant. I wouldn't come back here only for the location.

A nice hotel near shopping centre

The AWA Boutique Design Hotel is small. The service is good generally. I had free breakfast buffet included in the price, but the range of food available was limited. Hot food, like eggs, can be made to order but will be charged to your room.

Would definitely recommend

My partner and I were both very impressed by this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful (my airline lost my luggage and the reception staff made several phone calls and were able to track it down). The meals we had in the hotel restaurant were among the best we had in Uruguay and Argentina, and the wait staff were friendly and helpful.

AWA in Punta del Este - Staff not very Helpfull

The staff had cero recomendations for a good dinner. They assumed that you have to rent a car in Punta del Este to get arround (which is no true, Taxis are very expensive though). I felt that they did a poor job in going beyond their day to day jobs.

Awa Boutique Design Hotel in Punta del Estes

The hotel and staff were very knowledgeable and very helpful. Our room was very well decorated and very clean. The only negative was that the walls seemed very thin. We could hear every word being spoken next door. The breakfast was the best that we've had anywhere in the world. The shopping area that the hotel is near is a mall which is nearby. The main downtown shopping area is a mile away. Overall we were very pleased with our stay. Just know that the hotel is not right near downtown like I expected from the description.

Very Nice Hotel

We chose the AWA hotel, even though it's not right on the beach, because of other reviews that indicated it was a newer, nicer hotel. When we got there, we entered a lovely lobby cooled by the ocean breezes and were greeted by front-desk staff with a glass of champagne. Nice touch. The room itself was not huge, but large enough with a very comfortable king-size bed and mini-fridge. A large picture window in the room looked out on well-maintained grounds. We had a small problem with an area of the bathroom they had missed cleaning, but that was rectified immediately. We also had a problem with the AC not working properly, which they tried to fix but it never did work completely. Since the weather was relatively mild, we didn't press it. The dining room where we had a good breakfast each morning (mainly fruit and pastry) opened out onto a very nice outdoor dining and pool area. There were houses behind the hotel where we heard quite a few dogs barking and, of all things, a rooster and chickens, but once you were inside the hotel it was very quiet. We were not there on Friday or Saturday when they have live music, so I'm not sure if that would have been a problem. The hotel is about 6 - 8 blocks from the Brava (Atlantic) beach and a few blocks from the main shopping area, which was very convenient. Cab rides to the peninsula and Mansa (river) beach were reasonable at between 5 to 8 dollars U.S. If we're ever lucky enough to go to Punta del Este again, we would stay at the AWA.

Boutique hotel

This is a good and little boutique hotel, not so far away from the beach. Its very complete with a great breakfast.

Very Nice

A good find. Our room wasn't quite ready when we got there, but they offered us complementary champagne while we waited (15 minutes) in the lounge. Pool area was nice. About a 15-20 minute walk to the beaches which may be the only downside (or upside if you're trying to escape too many tourists). Restaurant was very good, although somewhat expensive. Staff was very helpful. Would definitely rebook if we were to go back to Punta del Este.

Great staff All details well done - Reception, buffet breakfast and heated pool. Located in a nice neighborhood near a very good shopping mall and restaurants but long walk to beaches.

The most charming Hotel in Punta

The hotel is very charming and confortable. The swimming area is great and the spa is delicious! The single critique: the food is expensive and bad, hence the best thing to do is eat out.

Loved it!

Lovely hotel, attention to details. Although the room wasn't huge, it was comfortable, with enough space. It was nicely decorated, with design furniture and lamps signed by designers such as Philippe Starck and Michele de Lucchi. The acoustic isolation of the room wasn't the best, but it wasn't really a problem. Breakfast was good, although we missed natural juices (all of them were artificial). Staff was very kind.

Un établissement correct. Un bon petit déjeuner, une piscine chauffée, un staff sympa, des espaces communs bien décorés. Néanmoins la salle de bain de la chambre est vraiment vieillotte et mériterait une profonde rénovation d’où la note non maximum

Hotel ótimo mas com necessidade de manutenção

Uma hotel que sempre foi espetacular. Os anos acabaram acarretando um pouco de danos aos aptos. Merece algumas reformas mas nada que desabone.

Hotel jovem, muito bem cuidado, ótima localização

Hotel muito bem localizado, perto do Shopping , do supermercado Fresh Market, café da manhã muito bom, equipe do hotel muito disponível e amável , limpeza ótima. Ficamos no quarto virado para trás e foi excelente , visão da copa das árvores , silencioso e privativo , fica a dica!

Todo muy lindo

Hotel pequeno, bem decorado, atendimento gentil, bem perto do shopping, mas não muito da praia. Achei as instalações já gastas, a cama já precisando trocar colchão. No geral tivemos uma excelente estadia.

O Hotel está em um lugar excelente, porém o quarto e o banheiro são muito pequenos e velhos O pessoal da recepção, restaurante e limpeza são muito simpáticos e atenciosos, o que faz a estadia muito boa
