This was the cleanest hotel in this area! Me and my fiancé loved this resort ! Will def visit again!
Timeshare sales was turn off.
Older hotel and time share. Got hit up for timeshare condos was a big turn off.
Will stay again!
Great staff, rooms were fully equipped and well kept. Pool area was well maintained, maybe getting a bit dated. We will stay here again.
Awesome
Pleasant stay.
The place was nice. Lots of pools and hot tubs. The heated pool could have been set to a slightly warmer temperature, but we still had fun. The staff was helpful and most of them were friendly. My biggest complaint was the inconvenient parking area across the street and the loading zone at the hotel was not an easy drive through like most resorts I’ve stayed at. The town of North Myrtle is nice and well kept. The beaches were very clean at Avista.
Room very spacious and equipped well. Quiet. Oceanfront had beautiful view.
Once again, very happy to have stayed here!
Just average place.
There a couple of things that could be improved on to make this a better stay. The garage stairs need to be power washed, very dirry. The kitchen in the unit we stayed in is too small for a 3 bedroom unit. The master bedroom bather shower and no where to put your shampoo or soap. The snk need to be fixed. It would also be nice to have vacuum cleaning during the stay.
I like everything about the property.
Not happy
Broken pictures, rocking table , unit needs remodeling badly. Very dated.
Loved everthing about it
Off season respite.
Off season visit. Nice one bedroom ocean front condo. Looks like it had recently been painted and several pieces of new furniture. This unit is advertised to sleep 6, which it will, but the spacious bathroom only has one small vanity when it has ample space for a larger 2 sink unit. We were only a party of two, and I wouldn't want to have any more than that in this unit. Small but usable kitchen. Entry doors are very heavy and slam loudly when closing. That being said we enjoyed our stay.
Love coming here any chance we get
The hotel staff was very friendly. Ms. Donna the parking attendant was so nice, friendly and helpful. She definitely deserves a raise! The hot tub was very nice and bigger than most hot tubs that I have seen. Definitely will be staying again!
Clean an friendly great place
I loved that there were many amenities. I did not like the parking situation I got in late and felt very uneasy in the parking across the street being that I was alone and 61 years old.
Excelente el servicio y comodo.
Everything went well. The only drawback was not being to check-in because of the Christmas parade.
Great spot with awesome inside hot tub, lazy river and heated pool year around.
4 Days for Thanksgiving
My second time staying at this property & it won’t be the last. I grew up locally & this is one of the best resorts for the money in N Myrtle. First thing I noticed was the “Autism Awareness” sticker on the door which is important to me. Room service checked on us daily, the room was nice, newer TVs are always a plus for me, beautiful view, etc. I will say the hot tub could have been cleaner but I shower after the pool so no big deal.
The only problem I had with is hotel was the outside hot tubs needed to be cleaned out because they was nasty filled with leaves and sticks and other stuff.
Very pleasant overnight stay
Love Avista Resort and have stayed several times. Always satisfied
Decent offseason price for a nice suite. Beautiful ocean view
Been here multiple times over the past 10 plus years always clean and safe resort. Super friendly staff...
Excellent stay, very comfortable property. Would r
Very clean propery, rooms. Comfortable, safe. Normal wear for age, but well maintained.
Very friendly,helpful stuff.
Hotel had to be evacuated and there was no assistance for us. Alarms were loud and clear. Basically run. We had a 3 month old child with us. As my daughter ran down the stairs with the baby and my grandaughter I assisted an elderly man that was severely handicap. There were no employees even when we got to the ground floor. Then someone came and said All clear Still no assistance. It was absolutely horrible. It was cold we had a baby no shoes. No car keys. It only lasted 15 minutes but it was a nightmare. And no apology or explanation. They said something like someone burned a pizza.
I was disappointed that they were doing maintenance on the indoor lazy river during my stay, but that happens. Other than that I really have nothing to complain about. I will absolutely look at future stays at Avista. Maybe next time I'll look at getting a suite, my partial ocean view was nice especially for the sunset but a full ocean view must be amazing as well. Staff was great. Breakfast at the restaurant was good (especially the home fries!). As a whole, would recommend!
Always a great experience!
We have stayed at Avista many times, we had a great time. Two of the indoor pools were closed during our stay, i was aware one would be closed but was not expecting two to be closed.
The double beds squeaked whenever you roll over or move at all.
Have stayed at this property more than once and will stay again. Love the location and the conveniences offered. Very clean and extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Very nice & clean property. I loved the balcony views & the convenience! Very nice & professional staff
Clean ocean view
Needs updating. Also, get ready for a timeshare salespitch.
Always a clean unit with friendly staff. Dining options could be a little more varied.
Good amenities. Well maintained and quiet.
Noise
Great place to stay with family or friends. Large units, right on the beach, great pool complex. Close to restaurants, golf, shops, etc.
Loved everything about it! Can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend! The only negative…They only have full size beds, no queens.
Great customer service.
Relaxing, enjoyable stay
Nice experience. Lots of free parking and fun indoor & outdoor lazy rivers. If you want to see the sun rise, request the south tower for a better view.
Great condo, pool and beach.
Great resort, service, amenities and location. Good drinks, food was just okay. I didn't appreciate being pressured in the lobby by the aggressive folks trying to get me to give up a few hours of my precious vacation to attend a vacation/timeshare presentation. Other than that, I'd go back in a heartbeat.
I liked everything except for the hot tubs. The hot tubs need an upgrade.
We loved everything! All staff we encountered went above & beyond, were professional & very friendly! Shout out to Coach & Kim from group marketing! We ran into her frequently & she is surely an asset to Avista! We will be back in April 25!
Everything was nice . My only complaint is being harassed after checking in by sales people trying to get us to buy timeshare. They wouldn’t take no for an answer . I did not appreciate it and it made me very uncomfortable and stressed !
All good
Service was great, people who work there were great. Cleaner was great as well, room was clean but overall the resort seemed unclean due to rugs that smell. Restaurant was terrible, lounge was poor. The resort lacks amenities aside from the pool.
Older property and definitely needs updating but affordable. The staff were amazing. Would stay at this place again.
Room was very clean. Had everything we needed. A couple members of the staff were rude, like when we had breakfast at the hotel the one staff member just pointed at a table and told us to set down and asked what we wanted to drink. The coffee was cold. When we checked in, we waited a few mins, then when it was finally our turn the attendent just turned and left, didnt say ill be right with you or even acknowledge us being there, then when we checked out she didnt ask how our stay was or anything. The person who did check us in was very nice and informative. And the ice rooms are disgusting! They stink, they are dirty, the trash cans had stuff splattered all over them. We went to a store and bought a small bag of ice. But all in all we were happy and loved being there. The pools and hot tubs were nice and plenty of area to lay in the sun and enjoy the warm weather. We will most likely stay there again.
Nice place with plenty to do and eat in this area of the beach.
Very clean. Quiet in the room. Could be improved by lounging chairs on the balcony. Housekeeping was fantastic. Parking garage is tight but there’s not much that can be done on that.
All staff had a positive attitude
great convenient area
Very beautiful property.
Second time here this year and loved it. We had no issues and the staff was great. Clean and spacious rooms. We will be back.
Living room furniture sofa, recliner & chair fair condition, came from a thrift store?? Also, motor running noise all night long coming from either outside or above my room at 304, keeping me up!!
Cleaniness and the access to the beach.
Enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is beautiful! Staff is top notch. Really enjoyed the hot tub!! Definitely will be back and will highly recommend to everyone!
The view was lovely
Nice family hotel.
We had a great week here. Bed was comfortable enough. Everything clean. A/C was great. Kept us cool in the heat. Loved that we could see the ocean and the street from balcony. The Pearl was open 24/7 for needed items inside hotel. Food was great from Just off Main inside the hotel. PARKING is in a parking garage across street. It is very tight in there. We just drove up to floor 3 or 4 till we found corner parking. I would recommend and go back!
Great property and affordable.
They need a ceiling fan or bigger AC vents in the bedroom. We were hot sleeping but froze in the kitchen and on the couch. Also, a key drop in the registration car lot would help them recoup key cards that disappear because I personally was not going to get out of my car with my toddler, ride the elevator again just to drop off my room keys (which I need to access the car I just got)
Staff was excellent.
Away from the Myrtle Beach craziness.
Suite was very nice, with a separate bedroom and a kitchen. The kitchen was quite small but well equipped for almost any kind of cooking. Parking was across the street in a covered garage, so auto protection was good but a little inconvenient. Balcony was a nice plus.
Great stay at Avista!
Very clean and up to date rooms. Wish the pools were bigger, got a little crowded at times. Staff very nice!
Convenient
Great stay
Loved the room (oceanfront 1bdrm king suite) it was spacious and clean. Check in/out was a breeze. It’s fun for the whole family. I do recommend a bigger tv in the bedroom and the couch to be a bit more comfortable. Overall great experience 10/10 I highly recommend.
I love this place.
This was my first time at the resort. Will definitely be booking again in the future. Staff were friendly from check in to check out. I didn’t run into any issues but I’m sure if I had it would have been taken care of promptly. The room and resort were very clean. The room looked just like the pictures showed on the booking site I used. Easy access to the beach and once we got too hot on the beach we enjoyed time in the pools and lazy rivers. Enjoyed the hot tubs in the evening. I was there with a friend but the place is very family friendly. Thank you Avista Resort for a wonderful stay.
Good, not the best
Our stay at Avista was good overall. The staff at check in weren’t very pleasant but every other in-person interaction after check in was good. The room was clean and pleasant except for finding a cockroach in the floor on the third night. When I called the front desk just to let them know that we had a roach in the room the lady wasn’t very pleasant and the staff tried to tell me it wasn’t a roach, it was a palmetto bug. But palmetto bug is just a nice way of saying cockroach, they’re the same insect. So that wasn’t pleasant, they just tried to deflect from the roach. Overall I think a 3-star experience.
I was on a roadtrip scoping out different areas to potentially live, and North Myrtle Beach SC was on my list. While visiting I had a great experiance overall. The only odd thing was the parking garage was across the street from the resort, due to the location I totally understand. I just kept forgetting which building I was in (LOL). The staff seemed friendly. Kevin checked me in upon my arrival. Great attitude and very helpful! Thank you Kevin for being knowledgable and answering my plethora of questions. Next time I'm in the area, I certainly will look into staying here again. They also have a little golf cart shuttle to get back and forth from the North tower building to the parking garage. *TIP YOUR SHUTTLE DRIVERS/BELL HOPS/ETC. WELL* These guys were working hard in the humid August 97 degree heat, not slowing down or skipping a beat. Always a smile on their faces and willing to help and go that extra mile to make the guest experience a memorable one. Thank you Avista and all the team members that helped make our stay one for the books!
The front reception desk personnel were friendly. The breakfast buffet was fair at best. The cleaning staff were incompetent. I was to receive a day of full service, which never happened. I received towels 3 separate days. Bedding was changed once. The other time the beds were made. The bathroom was never cleaned, nor was the sweeper ever run. The in-room washer and dryer were ridiculous on time. The dryer, regardless of setting only ran for 20 minutes and had to reset it again and again to dry clothes. Beds were very uncomfortable. Pool and lazy river were brownish colored. Did not use. So all in all, I would not recommend.
best vacation in a while!
we will absolutely be back, room 807 was a dream! thank you, avista!
The Avista Resort has EVERY amenity needed for a pleasant hotel stay. Avista's parking lot is across the street. Shuttle personnel are not always there. Kitchens are fully stocked. Terrace and beach views are beautiful. Suites w/oversized high-rimmed tubs may not be easily managed by seniors or those w/disabilities. Rooms with walk-in showers are on the 1st floor. Avista rooms are clean. Attention to maintenance is needed for peeling paint, ceiling cracks, damaged baseboards, broken wall fixtures, and repairs poorly done. Room cleaning service should report maintenance issues they see to management daily so they can be addressed promptly. Hotel hallways are not air conditioned. Vending machines for soda and water are only on a few floors & weren't operating correctly on 2 South Tower floors we tried. The breakfast restaurant's chairs always had crumbs on them & tables were left uncleaned after guests left. Hotel staff was very friendly & the food was good and reasonably priced. Hourly maintenance needed for outdoor pool. It had vomit, pieces of plastic & straws floating. It's also small for the # of guests. The beach is excellent & uncrowded. Avista's feet and body showers are up many stairs & across a platform. Path to beach is all sand, narrow and unstable. It needs paving stones. The Lobby's fake Xmas tree & decor taped on doors and walls detracts from its sophistication. The Front Desk did nothing about a huge palmetto bug scurrying across the lobby.

The property was well maintained and staff was courteous and friendly.
The area was quiet, staff were great, and the beach was wonderful
The air conditioner unit needs to be worked on
The stay was good All but the air conditioner wasn’t working. It would not go below 75° in the room even when you set it on 65 we had to go down at the customer desk and get a box fan to the bedroom somewhat while we slept
Very easy access to beach - our reason for traveling. Was glad city had setup umbrellas and chairs. The Lazy Rivers were nice and there were so many beach chairs everyone could sit. Food was ok. Drinks made from mixes not too tasty. Water pressure down and tub didn’t drain well.
Elevators were very quick, pool area had plenty of chairs, pools, food and drink available, beach area was close, free chairs between pool area and beach, fireworks on the beach 2 nights, life guard, music at pool-on speaker, dj or person playing steel drum. Great place to stay.
Good vacation spot, clean rooms, nice amenities
The shower not enough pressure
Had an amazing stay. Special thank you to Ashley for getting us on a higher floor and the ladies who checked us out for ensuring our beach rentals were kept safe.
The best
The property was clean and well maintained.
Room very dirty. Wrapper on floor, hair in sink and shower. Vent for AC unit covered in dust
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Avista hotel. The pool area is what we really enjoyed the most. Looking forward to visiting again!
Great stay. Reasonable price. Pools nice and clean
We enjoyed our weekend.
I liked the lazy riger, pool and kiddie pool. I didnt try the restaurants.
Very nice . Great location
Horrible stay this time even though previous times were great. Front desk and manager were horrible. We arrived later afternoon after an 8 hour drive and with our 8 month pregnant daughter. She was understandably tired and wanted to rest. When we arrived fire alarm was sounding and fire truck was there. Truck left. Alarm was muted somewhat until we got to our floor (16th) and our room where it was blaring. We were unable to stay in room. Went to lobby and asked to switch rooms after we were told that the alarms were only going off on certain floors, mine being one of them. This lasted for 3-4 hours. They would not switch us to another room. I explained that my daughter needed rest. There were others in the lobby also with small children who could not sleep in their rooms either because they were impacted also. I asked to speak to manager and she just kept saying they were working on it but promised me she would compensate me in some way for this major inconvenience. After 4 hours (9pm) of this it was finally turned off and the manager says she’d reach out to me the next day. Then at 2am the power went out in the hotel for 2-3 hours. It was suffocating in the room. We couldn’t sleep my daughter was crying because she was so exhausted and alarms were sounding everywhere. Sentry front desk. They were rude and showed no empathy. I realize outside of hotel’s control but we were frustrated. We never heard from any manager and no one asked me how my visit was at checkout.
First vacation in 12 years. Booked a room with an ocean view and was not disappointed. Staff was great. Was able to walk to many restaurant etc from the hotel
I like all that the resort had to offer. Multiple pools and options for food and drinks.
Property was clean safe and a great family environment.

Nice resort we stayed In The off season but everything was professional lean and very nice
