Nice facility, friendly service
Base for travel to Avignon
Fantastic hotel. Beautiful pool, great spa, gorgeous setting. Staff were so friendly and so nice to deal with. There were lots of EV chargers at the hotel. The breakfast was not to our taste but very substantial. Avignon is about a 20 min drive from the hotel- parking in Avignon is extremely tight; typical for an old European city. The Parking des Italianes is an outdoor parking lot with a shuttle to the city center that is very regular. Try to get a spot under trees so your car doesn’t get too hot while you are out. The hotel overall was a highlight of our trip and a lovely relaxing place to stay after some sightseeing in Avignon.
Excellent hotel with beautiful spa and Michelin restaurant
What a lovely boutique 5 star.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the delightful inn in the heart of Provence, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. This charming boutique hotel is run by a wonderful husband-and-wife team, whose warmth and hospitality made our stay exceptional from start to finish. The attention to detail throughout the hotel is remarkable, reflecting the couple’s dedication to providing a perfect retreat for their guests. Our room was beautifully decorated, combining traditional Provençal style with modern comforts. The bed was incredibly comfortable.
The team and the hotel are as always above and beyond the expectations. A diner at their restaurant is always a chef-d'œuvre. Thank you very much! We are looking forward to coming back
Lovely spot to use as your base to explore Provence. Have nothing but great things to say about the property and the staff. Additionally, the restaurant was exceptional! Both in food, wine, presentation and service. Bravo!!
This is an outstanding hotel, So serene and beautiful. Loved everything about this place.
Auberge de Cassagne is beautiful and serene. The staff are attentive and the property is beautiful and so well maintained. Our room was beautifully appointed. Simple and elegant. The beds are very comfortable and the linens so luxurious. My only complaint is that the dining options are so limited. The restaurant is amazing but you don’t want haute cuisine every night. There are no other optionsi the area except for a take out pizza place. Both us and the people in the room next to us chose to bring in pizza (the only option). It would be nice if the hotel had a restaurant with more “comfort food” options.
You can't go wrong at Auberge de Cassagne.
Auberge de Cassagne is a wonderful place, the rooms are very comfortable. Meals are fantastic - great breakfast with wonderful service, and our single dinner at the Auberge was also outstanding. Spa is very nice. Highly recommended.
10 minutes from Avignion. Breakfast verry good
Service was excellent. All staff was extremely polite and always willing to help.
Room was excellent, clean & quiet. Staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Pool, jacuzzi, steam rooms all great! Highly recommend for a peaceful retreat.
Excellent hotel and spa for those wanting a quiet getaway, to use as a base for Avignon, exploring Provence or both. 35 rooms arranged as chalets around the garden and outside restaurant. Extensive wine cellar. The spa, pool and restaurant were outstanding. The same couple has owned the hotel 30 years and cares deeply about the guests. One of the owners is also the head chef, who cooks traditional french food and clearly takes pride in his work. It's about 8km (5 miles) from Avignon which a little too far to walk but a very short taxi ride. This is actually a plus in July because Avignon center is very crowded due to festival. Taxis and Uber are hard to find in Avignon during the festival so have the hotel arrange for you to be picked up in Avignon. I definitely would not recommend taking a car into Avignon during the festival.
Great property with excellent service.
What a wonderful place. Wish I was staying longer. So tranquil.
Beautiful hotel, outstanding restaurant, great staff
Rooms: Clean, spacious and quaint with a lot of character. Junior suite was spacious with a sitting area, an outdoor patio, and a huge bathroom. Well equipped with a comfortable king bed, large screen TV and coffee maker. Country-style room made you feel as if you really were staying in the countryside. Although the property was built in ~1850, it is extremely well maintained! Service: absolutely outstanding, friendly staff. Nighly turn down service, everyone was extremely courteous and pleasant. Received same day laundry service. Roman from the front desk was extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations. Restaurant: Highlight of our stay was in the restaurant. Outstanding breakfast buffet with an endless selection of hot and cold items. Enjoyed breakfast in the outside garden area with the birds singing. Lunch and dinner was a memorable experience - we are not experienced with French cuisine but the staff, particularly Julian guided us through some outstanding selections! Location: Location is in a residential neighborhood. It was a fairly easy 20 minute drive to Avignon, once we figured out the roads. Other than some mall restaurants and fast food, not many dining options in the area otherwise.
Très belle adresse
Tout était parfait
This was an excellent hotel, very well run, friendly and clean. Evening dinner was amazing
A beautiful hotel, superb restaurant and very friendly staff. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely return.
Location a bit strange as in built up area not ‘a country estate’ as stated. Pool was nice but quite chilly and jacuzzi second day was cold. Steam lovely, food fantastic .
The indoor spa/ pool area is beautiful. The dining experience is outstanding.
Very beautiful spa but not in a great location. It was in the middle of nowhere.
It was a fabulous stay and the food exceeded all expectations...
This property is simply gorgeous! The room was beautifully decorated, large with lots of storage, there are two pools , the spa. Is well kept, the bathroom was modern and large... cannot say enough good things about this place. This is the place to stay if you plan to be in Avignon
It is a gem of a property. Will be back again service staff were fabulous
Once inside the hotel walls this place is excellent. However it’s located in a somewhat run down area.
Wonderful Return to the Auberge!
This was our fourth stay at the Auberge de Cassagne and it will not be our last. It is the epitome of what we look for in hotel accommodation in France. The in-house restaurant headed by Chef Boucher is superb. The quality and consistency of the meals they turn out is exceptional. And the service staff are very competent and professional whilst also being warm and welcoming. The whole tone of the operation is set by Madame Boucher who is exceptionally welcoming and attentive to every guest and to every detail of the operation of the Auberge. We have stayed in a variety of rooms at the Auberge and they have all been beautifully clean and comfortable. Everything works well including the A/C and heating functions which is really important for the comfort of guests. The location is superb too. Just a few minutes driving from one of the free parking lots encircling the walled city of Avignon. We prefer staying in the Auberge because it is an oasis of quiet calm vs. staying inside Avignon. Also, the location makes it very good basecamp from which to take day trips to some of the nearby sights such as Les Baux, the Pont du Gard, Aigues Mortes, Arles, Nimes, etc.We are already looking forward to our next visit.
very pleasant hotel
very pleasant hotel although some décor feels a bit dated? the bedspread was threadbare in places. staff were all very good. eat in the restaurant at least once as food is excellent
Awesome!
We loved this hotel! The service was outstanding! Wish we could stayed longer.
5 Star hotel and staff
Outside the hustle/bustle of Avignon. Beautiful rooms and facilities. Spa is relaxing and food at the restaurant outstanding. Staff goes out of there way to make your stay the best. Expensive but a great treat
Great staff but the room is overpriced!
We did have some expectation of this hotel given it's a SLH. However, the 1st room that assigned to us was disappointing. The room is outdated, dark (the sunlight could not get into the room) and lack of privacy (it's ground floor and the window is opposite to the hotel resturant that we could hardly open our curtain) given the price that we paid over 300euro per night. The air-conditioner was very dirty that everytime we switched on, black dust actually spread ver the floor every night. Furthermore, the hotel was suffered by serious mosiquto infestation. The 1st night that we had dinner in the resturant, which had a lovely garden to be honest, staff was friendly and the food was good. Unfortunately, there's swamp of mosquito came to each table after sunset, that all the customers were busy to kill the mosquito or asked for anti-mosquito spray to complete the rest of dinner. Our 3rd night of stay, there were over 30+ mosquito coming to our room just because my husband opened the door for 5 seconds to take the rubbish out and we spent more than an hour with the staff killing all the mosquito together. We got a room change immediately next day, on 1st floor with a clean bright better air-conditioner of room about the same size, but we were told that type of room actually should cost more which we believed a clean bright room should be basic requirement...
Great for spa and relaxation
The spa is great and the relaxed atmosphere is also wonderful. The hotel and room decor could use some updating, but the bathrooms were large and modern and the peaceful atmosphere drowns out any aesthetic issues. There isn't anything nearby in the way of shops or restaurants so be prepared to eat at the hotel unless you have a car.
A great hotel! Top notch service!
Our room was quite large and comfortable. Enjoyed the spa and massage. The hotel service was excellent. Ate in the dining room one night and had a superb meal. The one thing I would recommend is that they add a small coffee shop or cafe for informal meals.
Housekeeping service was consistently poor even when we complained repeatedly!! Dining room has excellent food but not very professional service--- definitely not 5- star! Location is poor unless you have a car. There is nothing within walking distance-- only residential area. Property has nice gardens.
Lovely secluded hotel and spa!
It was SUCH a wonderful hotel!!! The front desk: We didn't get a welcome beverage, but it didn't matter because everyone at the front desk was WONDERFUL! They went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Sylvestre even brought us DVDs from his house so we could watch them on our BluRay player in our room. The room: I had a junior suite and it was lovely! Large, with a balcony, king bed, and the best jacuzzi tub! The mattress was a little too firm for me, but my fiancée loved it. They also had free amenities in the bathroom and bathrobes and slippers. There was also a safe in the room and a minibar, free coffee and tea and water. The grounds: The grounds of the hotel were *so* beautiful! There were fig trees and olive trees and it looked like we were in a French orchard garden. I loved it! The spa & pool: I had 2 massages in 2 days. The spa was lovely. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, and an indoor and outdoor jacuzzi! The spa also has a gym, a color therapy shower, a sauna, and a steam room. The restaurant: Simply delicious! We ate dinner here 2 nights and ordered room service twice. All the food was fantastic. Don't miss the cheese cart. It's the star of the show. All in all, a GREAT resort hotel, away from it all for those looking for some necessary relaxation. The staff make you feel like you're the only guests in the resort. We will be back, auberge de cassagne! Merci!!!
Wonderful, relaxing and beautiful
Also very well located for day trips to other sites in Provence The management were very helpful and took care of all our needs. The suite is perfect for a family of 4/5 The restaurant was SUPERB Will definitely stay there again.
Not for me
We had stayed in the sister hotel in Saint Remy and it was so much better. Over priced drinks and breakfast wasn't as good.
Wonderful hotel in inconvenient location
This is a very nice hotel in a strange location but a car is a MUST and there are absolutely no conveniences in the area (shopping, restaurants, etc.)
Nice hotel in close proximity to Chateauneuf
Good hotel. Most of the staff friendly. Restaurant good with attentive service. Nice room and bath. Odd pillows on the bed...one big long body pillow.
Provence - September 2015
Excellent in every way. Hotel a little difficult to find at first.
A Hidden Delight
The concierge was very helpful. They tried hard to make our day special. Treat yourself to dinner. It was well worth it. The dinner was well prepared and it was presented artfully. Rooms were comfortable and well appointed. We met friends there and we were glad they found the Inn.
Hotel good, but neighbourhood not great - 15 minute car ride into the centre of Avignon. Unsuitable for children. Felt on tenterhooks if my children were noisy and the menu was far too fussy for them. Super retreat for adults though.
The hotel, staff and grounds were very nice. We very much enjoyed the pool. We did not enjoy that for dinner it was so formal and no one really spoke with us. The hotel has a smaller country feel so the restaurant experience surprised me. I also felt the food prices were very high. And you had no other options. It was a nice stay. But I can't say I would rush back.
Best choice for Provance stay and travel
Fantastic in all dimensions my wife and loved it --
Treat Yourself
A beautiful breath of fresh air just outside of Avignon! Elegant, relaxing, quiet, swimming pool and with superb cuisine.
Comfort Comfort Comfort
100% Professional staff with a great set of facilities to make any stay enjoyable. Location is not the greatest and can be difficult to locate at first. (Plenty of signage pointing the way from the Autoroute) Overall, a nice setting for a relaxing stay. Wouldn't be the first place I'd recommend for business travelers but certainly not the last. If they can remedy the problem of the shower head/bathtub rim spilling water all over the floor it would be a nice improvement. Would def return.
Lovely, friendly hotel with excellent food.
A really lovely hotel with friendly staff. We were given a fantastic upgrade and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel. The location is suburban but really useful if you are driving. The food was excellent. The spa and pool were free and very relaxing.
A nice, but expensive get away.
Staff is friendly, room is okay. Nothing really walkable so it's really if you want the spa treatment and experience. Otherwise, just an expensive hotel. Nothing exciting about the rooms at all.
Nice hotel with very friendly services
We had a very good stay. The hotel is closed to a lot of the towns we visited and all within 30 minutes drive. Services good and you really feel the care as the owner's wife is there to greet you almost everyday.
The best relaxing place near Avignon
Simply amazing facilities, spa & restaurent where A1. Location close to Avignon and many of the finest wine producers of Rhone.
Very nice hotel. Comfortable rooms. Great food. Wonderful staff. Far from the city but we were able to take buses into Avignon.
Anniversary stay
Strange really. Stayed here to visit Avignon - which is very run down (very). Hotel is about 5 miles out of town, which actually is a blessing! SatNav had trouble finding the hotel, but they have slot of signage for it, so not too bad. The hotel is just tired and we didn't think really a 5 Star hotel. The room we were "upgraded" to was out in the gardens, which meant a good couple of minutes walk through the very windy grounds for breakfast - which is excellent and well worth the money. Can't comment on the evening meals as didn't eat there, (looked pricey on the menu), but we were just out till late each night. Would we go back? No, but that is more a reflection on Avignon than the hotel. The hotel was (we thought) expensive for what you got.
Good service
Room was good, Restaurant was good, and Pool was also good. Only negative point was bath tab in the room, there sometimes has electric shock from the jacuzzi..
Genuine Provencal Experience
A wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. Dinner two nights was elegant and well presented. As some other guests have said, the room was well kept, but a bit dated. In particular, the bedding (pillows and mattress) was not of 5-star quality. Overall it's a good place to come home to at the end of your sightseeing and wine-tasting each day.
Beautiful Boutique Hotel
Our stay was lovely at this hotel! The staff was very at tentative & courteous. Service was very good. The spa is great! The restaurant is fantastic! Overall a wonderful place to stay in Avignon. You need to rent a car if you plan to stay in the hotel as Avignon is 15 min drive.
Beautiful place
The room was nice and the ground were beautiful.
wonderful oasis
fabulous quiet oasis close to the motorway. wonderful restaurant atmosphere food and service was excellent
Lovely hotel in an inconvenient location
We loved the hotel and it's pleasant atmosphere. But it is located well outside of Avignon in a smallish town. The town had no restaurants of note so dinner choices were either a very expensive (but good) dinner at the hotel or an expensive cab ride to Avignon. I wouldn't stay here again for that reason.
Disappointing stay at Auberge de Cassagne & Spa
The staff there is generally friendly but I encountered a few that were rude & not welcoming! The bell man greeted us without any smile & the front desk receptionist was also the concierge who was not helpful at all. I'd not stay at this hotel again.
Facilities: Everyday; Value: Not 5 star.; Service: Non existent.; Ordered scrambled eggs. Received none.
an excellent stay
a very nice hotel with great facilities
Treat Yourself!
We made a last-minute booking at the Auberge de Cassagne in the midst of an arduous three-week business trip. We both needed to unwind a bit, and the on-premise Spa provided great opportunities for that. We had initially booked a conventional double room, but perhaps since it was the off-season, we were upgraded to a Junior Suite upon arrival. The staff was charming and accomodating, with great suggestions for activities and indulgences during our stay. Highly recommended!
Auberge De Cassagne
Great experience. Useful to have an indoor heated pool in winter. Excellent food, wine list and service in restaurant although prices are a bit high.
Aubertge
Outstanding hotel with wonderful food and service. We would love to go back and spend more time there.
Auberge de Cassagne**** & Spa in Le Pontet
The price for the room for this 4 star Hotel in Le Pontet which is near to Avigion in high season (July) was good. The room was on the 1st floor and was rather small. But for the price we paid at Hotel.com, I expected this room to be a small room. The facilities of this Hotel was excellent. The Spa and Pool was great after a long plane journey and drive from Marseille. We enjoyed the Spa and had dinner in the Hotel. The Hotel seems to have been recently renovated. The smaller and cheaper rooms are at the older main building and on the 1st floor. The more expensive ones are nearer the pool and Spa. I would recommend to have dinner at least once in this Hotel. The food although expensive was fabulous as was the service. The Wireless Ethernet was fast and it was complementary. The surrounding area of the Hotel is quiet and you will need a car to stay in this Hotel. Driving to Avigion is easy and also you could have food and shopping at the Commecial Center which is about 4km drive away.
Lovely relaxing get away
We enjoyed using this hotel as our base for touring Provence. It was difficult to find even with the GPS but we figured it out. The hotel desk linked us up with a great kayaking company on the Sorgue river and a wonderful Provencal town market and a wine tour. Our 2 teenagers loved the indoor pool facility. The spa was excellent. The dinner was outstanding, especially the cheese course. They had a ping pong table and free internet. We got a suite for 4 with an outdoor garden. Outdoor pool excellent, but a bit too chilly in Oct.
Lovely hotel but food and services were very very expensive
We were initially disappointed with the area as it was quite a way out of Avignon with nothing appealing close by, The hotel could not be faulted as the accommodation (individual chalets) really was 4 star. The hotel was a typical old French mansion but the garden was quite tired. The cost for meals was extortionate even taking into consideration the terrible exchange rate at the time. Breakfast was 25 euros each!! dont ask for the dinner price. Beautiful indoor pool but one could not afford any of the treatment on offer without taking out a small mortgage. The staff were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble but it should be this way with their prices. huge thanks to Hotel.com for the discount as it really was worth a visit i would love to return when i have won the lottery.
Excellent food
Hotel is lovely, great pool and garden, excellent restaurant -- but food is costly and there are no alternatives in the immediate vicinity.
Outstanding Service
The service was absolutely outstanding. Definitely 5 star standard. Welcoming and helpful. Booked late so very small room, but price reflected that. Breakfast was fine but too expensive for what it was. Wonderful smell of lavender throughout hotel. Would go again but book earlier and have larger room for which happier to pay more. Very well equipped pool and spa.
Bel accueil et cadre superbe
Parfait
Very charming garden and restaurant has very good chef.
Le top du top !
2ème visite !
poor location
Nice hotel...very poor location
One word: Great
One word: Great.
Belle demeure
Atmosfera romantica. Giardino ben tenuto. Posizione lontana dal caos.
Perfekte Anlage, sehr gepflegt, schöne große Zimmer, freundliches Personal, erstklassige Küche
Really quiet and charming.
