Place is Clean, room is a little tight to move around for 4 people but comfortable.
Ok stay but noisy and breakfast is extra.
Breakfast will be an extra 10 Euros and is not worth it. Just plan on eating somewhere else. It was also very noisy with staff banging doors all day. I stayed two days to have a restful day but it was too loud to rest.
Close to Galway Bay and a lovely view of the ocean
There were some great walks nearby and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Right in town. Clean. Safe. Friendly Staff. Parking near by.
Room was dirty and with no amenities. Check in process was chaotic. Only thing going fir this hotel was location
Conveniently situated just off the coast road, and within comfortable walking distance to the city center. The owners were helpful and friendly and the included Irish breakfast was ample, with alternatives to eggs and sausage like porridge, yogurt, fruit and cereal, if you prefer.
OK but will not return to this accommodation.
On arrival the Guest house was unlocked so we waited in the guest lounge room until the Owner arrived. We did not realise there was a Grand Final of Hurling in the town so our timing was not great as she was missing the last half to come and check us in. The hallway was untidy with a lot of items unrealted to the guests needs stored here. The table with travel brochures was overfilled and messy and needed a good clean up. The guest room was as pictured and the French doors lead onto the balcony which had a water view, however this balcony is shared by three rooms. This would have been ok except smoking was allowed on the balcony. We had to keep our French doors closed as the other guests smoke entered our room if we wanted to have them open. As there was no other option for fresh air we found the room to be stuffy and claustrophobic. We found the Manager to be friendly and breakfast was ok but for the amount charged a little underwhelming. There was not much choice for vegetarians and for the Ten Euros each it was a small helping. The room was not as clean as it should be. Under the bed there is a thick layer of dust and a build up of dirt. It is obvious the bed is not being moved for the carpet to be cleaned underneath. The toilet seat needs fiixing as it moves off the base when seated. There is another B&B's next door and I think I would stay at that one if we visited the area again as it looked cleaner.
A Has-Been
Upon arrival, a less-than friendly woman with a constantly barking "guard dog" greeted me. It was not pleasant. Reception was done in the super messy kitchen of the place. She kept saying that we were having a "misunderstanding" in terms of payment. I'd just forgotten that I'd booked and not paid. It was awkward, and her language barrier made it much worse. Outside of the staff, the place needs updates in a serious way. The location was convenient enough, but if there are other places out there that are of similar price, go elsewhere.
Close to town so no driving necessary!!
Galway is one of our favorite towns in Ireland! 🇮🇪❤️
Very nice owners...
This B&B was clean and the owners so very nice and welcoming but the heat did not work and it was snowing outside. They were aware of it and tried to fix but apparently couldn't. We were there for two nights and it snowed so we froze. The room was entirely too small for two people. Should have been a single room. Location is misleading in the description. Too far to walk to the city center. Was told a short nice walk but it was an 30 minute walk and note easy especially under the weather conditions. I hate to say it because they were nice but I wouldn't stay again.
Close to the water; but unfriendly
We had booked a front ocean view and when we got there and asked about it the lady said “why you want ocean view is dark outside now!” well we’re not dumb we knew it was night when we got there but obviously in the morning we would be able to enjoy the view and that is the whole reason why we picked this location... anyhow, now that we’ve been there we would pick any other B&B on this street, trust me there are quite a few to pick from! Most people where super nice in Ireland expect for this place.
Nice House, Bad Room
While this guest house is located across the street and dunes from of Galway Bay, the room I was given was a back attic room with only a skylight for view (of the sky) and ventilation (without handles, too high for me to reach to open or close). As they still had vacancies advertised, I requested a different room but was told it (they?) were "family rooms". The clerk was pleasant and tried to please - the owner she had to contact for "permission" was not. The (same) clerk provided a generous and tasty hot breakfast, and a welcoming guest parlor.
Great location, very clean and comfortable.
Our experience was made even more memorable by the beautiful young Hungarian woman named Monica...I hope I am spelling that correctly. She managed the B&B and was very welcoming, making every effort to get us settled in comfortably.
Close to beach and 5 min walk to restaurants
Nice place, clean and good location. Breakfast should be included to make it a better value.
Nice place to stay
Walk to city center a little farther than anticipated but doable
Location far for walking to Resturant
Staff was nice. Lacked charm. Long walk to resturants
Expensive for what it is
We stayed here for one night. Our stay was fine and the staff were friendly but we found the room very small and we were woken up at 8am by the sounds of people talking, chairs scraping and plates clanging about. It was quite expensive and a very very basic room. The room was clean though. Wouldn't come here again.
Nice area, short walk to town, great view.
Pleasant staff, clean facilities. Great view of the bay.
A Quaint B&B.
Not exactly in the middle of Galway, but a short walk to Salthill for restaurant. Located on a parallel road along the coast and includes parking. The Atlantic View has a pleasant lounge to relax and the staff were very friendly. Going into Galway is either a 20-25 minute walk or a short cab ride.
Very nice staff. Clean, simple, Goldilocks (just right).
Reasonable - more hotel than B&B
The young man we interacted with was excellent. Don't know about reviews who didn't have breakfast as ours was included. Maybe it's an operational extra. It was the most expensive B&B of or trip to Ireland and frankly not worth the cost. We were tired from driving so didn't go out but the drive into the city was fairly long and I wouldn't want to walk it. We had a front room, but no view. Got a nice breeze, but had to close the windows at night because of traffic noise. Also the only place that tried to make me pay in cash in Ireland as they "were having trouble with the internet". When I asked them to try anyway, it connected and I was able to pay using my travel card. If it hadn't been for the really welcoming young man on duty when we arrived I'd score it lower than I have.
Way too expensive, not a B&B just a B.
40 minute walk to town not 15, no breakfast included bed lumpy turned out to be 350 canadian yikes for 2 nights, , what we got nothing about this B was impressive. Skip it if youcan!
Worst hotel ever!
Nothing as described. Rooms are run down and excessively small for three. Only 18 inches separates two beds. Facilities are not as described. This is a cramped, overpriced, poorly run B&B. Don't stay here.
Nice guesthouse in quieter area but close to city
We were a but apprehensive as this was a last minute booking and some of the reviews were not favorable but we were pleasantly surprised. We were in a superior double and it was very comfortable with good views of the sea (we didn't find traffic noise a problem with open windows overnight).
awesome
very nice
Great location, clean (but tiny!) room.
When we arrived at the B&B they had no record of our booking - not sure if this was the fault of the B&B or hotels.com. Either way, we were given a "triple" room that was terribly small. We had little room for our luggage and the bathroom itself could barely fit one person. Very disappointed with the room that we got. However, the room was cleaned daily and we were more than happy with this service. Fresh towels were provided daily too. The location of this B&B is ideal...a short 15/20 min walk to the centre of Galway and close to Salthill too. We were very happy location wise. When we were leaving the owners were there and were not very warm when we were checking out. They could improve on their customer service!
Close to water and holiday village
Internet not available and tv reception was poor. basic facilities only.
It is zero
I was disappointed to see the hotel called 4 star? It was B&B not even one star pls remove it from ur list of hotels before they sue u for fraud. I paid 139 Euros for a place that is not worth it.
Convenient Location
Very friendly and helpful staff
B&B (with no Breakfast) should be called B&
The B&B was a huge disappointment -- based on the Hotel.com images. If you are looking I urge you to move on to another listing. Our room did face the sea but was extremely small (unlike the photos) and we had to be careful not to hit our head's on the low ceiling. There was no bathtub in the room as advertised. They charge 5% for a credit card and breakfast is €5 for continental (which other reviews say is awful) and €10 for full Irish. Should one not assume that a Bed and Breakfast includes breakfast? This is not a B&B . . . it is a bad motel. Stay away! The proprietress was also very unfriendly when we checked out and forked over our cash to avoid the insult of paying more for the room.
Disappointed
We booked our room and the confirmation details sounded grand- but we did not get what was in our confirmation. The room was suppose to have a patio (it was down a floor), a bathtub which it did not, a television with satellite it was broken and had to be replaced after the owner tried repeatedly to fix it wih us in the room which he had to do while on one of the beds, the sheets were suppose to be 100% Egyptian cotton and they were 50/50 polyester... We wee under the impression that there was laundry services but it was at a charge of 10 euros which the staff person had to look into to get a price- this should all be listed in their ad on hotels.com, Chipped glassware and lipstick, no soap in the bathroom even after complaining!! For 149 euros a night we were extremely a free with the quality!! We could have stayed down the road for half the price but decided to splurge on the last leg of our journey- we felt Thorouly ripped off. We were told by the owner that they cannot guarantee which rooms you get when booking - to which I asked why did it give you options in rooms when booking then??? With no adequate reply. He said we should have felt lucky being by the ocean- but with a major road between us and the Oceanside it quite noisy and a 15-20 walk into city centre!!! After 2 weeks in Ireland we had stayed at many budget B&B's and that's what this place felt like bit they charged double the price!!! Would have rather stayed above bar.
Pleasant and quaint
I booked the hotel because I am a visiting international student who needed accomodations while I house hunted. The staff (particularly the house boy) were lovely, and brekkie was both quality and well presented. The room was clean and comfortable, the wifi worked so well, and the loo was clean and well cared for. Overall my stay was very comfortable, and more than I expected. Staff was very accommodating! Location was awesome! Just off the ocean and near the bus line into the city centre.
lovely guest house in a terrific location
friendly staff, very comfortable room, clean and in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay at the Atlantic View guest house.
Great location, very nice place
Super location for both city centre and Salthill- both walking distance. Room was very nice but a little small, especially as we had our baby in a travel cot. Staff were lovely. Breakfast is an additional charge and was nice. Would stay again
No Breakfast and No View
I don't understand how they can call themselves a Bed & Breakfast when breakfast is not included in the rate. Our reservation confirmation said we had a room with a water view but when we checked in we were stuck in a room in the back with no view. The view from the balcony in front was partially obscured by trees anyway. Great location but way overpriced for what we got.
Atlantic View Salthill Galway
Stayed in the Atlantic view for one night. Excellent location in Salthill. Very comfortable beds and quiet location. We had to leave very early the following morning and the staff kindly left out food for us to make our breakfast the next morning before setting off.
A hike from Galway center
Staff did not have our reservation. Once found did not know which room. Once room was determined key did not work. Once in room TV remote was missing and everything was covered in thick dust. Bathroom and linens were clean but sheets did not fit and slipped off mattress corners as soon as one got to bed. Too much furniture in the room, difficult to turn around--and everything covered in dust. Once the right key was found (from a batch of ca 30) it turned sluggishly was posed a hazard in case of fire. A very unsettling situation. Will not return.
fairly basic but great location
The hotel is fairly basic but it is in the perfect location in Galway. It is just in between the beach and the city centre, easy walk to both, but also just out of the way enough that you won't have any loud noises at night.
Over priced
Ideal location for access to city but room was tiny for the price, not the cleanest and breakfast not included. Lacking the hospitality we experienced in other Irish guest houses.
overpriced B&B - just dont
I have been there 2nights and regret every minute of it .. Even tho you book room with view and balcony, staff who is trained to do what the boss say, tells you that you can have them lovely rooms for extra 15€ and the whole fun starts. Because you have booked already, its safe for the owner to push you around, dont let them. After all, id say you're paying already too much thru hotels.com than if you just randomly stopped at some B&B .. i wont come back, and so you shouldn't!!!
Close to Water; Not So Close to City Center
Quant B&B location right on the water. Close walking distance to some restaurants; however the city center of Galway is about a 20 minute walk. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed had a heat warming blanket that was an added bonus. Parking is available in front of the B&B which is also key if you are driving around Ireland.
No hot water
We arrived late after a long day on the road to be rushed around by the owner who was on her way to the pub and really wasn't phased by us being there. She gave us a few quick tips and rushed out the door. The bathroom was freezing with no heater in it. And we woke for an early start on the road to find no hot water. My daughter attempted a shower but was unable as the conditions were ICY ! The best part of this hotel was the beautiful sunrise across the road over the ocean on our way out of it.
So close, yet so far.
We came into Galway for one night on a busy Saturday. The Atlantice View was in a great location with a reasonable price, but lacked the charm of other B&Bs experienced along our journey. We loved being able to stroll the promenade and walk into the city with ease, but our accomadation was more utilitarian than relaxing.
Lacking Hospitality
Disappointed from the moment we checked in. The online pictures of the rooms drastically overstate their size! The host, who appeared to be a college age student) wasn't very hospitable. After check-in he went right back to the only computer and watched TV, which was fine, but when asked if we could use it, he said "the signal is very bad can you try later'. Shortly later as we left he was still on the computer. The topper was the continental breakfast. Everything was packaged and processed, with ill fitting lids on the cereal canisters and a bug trap on the top shelf of the buffet. Nothing was fresh except the old bananas and apples. Try your luck some where else.
What is a B&B?
I thought that the difference between B&B and a hotel was that you get a personnal welcome and service from the owner. Well, here is an hotel. The reception is made by a foreigner, very polite and attentive by the way. For the rest, compared to a hotel, smaller room, less clean, no views (Atlantic?) and to add insult to injury they charge you an extra 5% if you pay by credit card wich left me with 105€ less of my money. Next time I won't make the same mistake. Big hotel groups will get my money.
Perfect spot for my trip
This B&B was in a perfect spot for my trip. If you are expecting city center Galway, this is not in that area, which was a blessing since the center was very busy and noisy. You can walk 15 minutes to the city center (5 Euro by cab), or walk the other direction 15 minutes to Salthill. Cross the road and you are on the promenade. There is a balcony accessed from the landing of the second floor, with a nice view of the ocean. Breakfast is available, but there is a (reasonable) charge for it. Grocery store is about 5 minutes walk. Refrigerator in room is VERY small, but large enough to put leftovers from dinner in or keep drinks cold. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Friendly Staff & Great Location
Stayed with a friend here. The staff are very welcoming and helpful with any query. I would recommend this place.
Good service and well located
Stayed here for 1 night following a trip to Roundstone to see friends. On arriving I was welcomed by Sammy who was very friendly and helpful. We had a sea front room which whilst small was more than adequant for 1 night. Clean, and a decent bathroom. Full Irish breakfast was excellent the next morning and we left our car during the following day whilst looking around the city and Sammy allowed us to use their private toilet when we got beck before we headed off to the airport - nothing was too much trouble for him. A short walk away in Salthill is a great brew pub The Oslo Bar which had a big screen for the Champions League final - great atmosphere in there and lovely beers. Plenty other pubs and restaurants on that street as well.
Jewel in Galway
very well welcomed by the owners. friendly warm feeling. a lovely Irish breakfast was prepared for us. great location to walk into town and right across the street is the ocean. I would definitely stay there again and recommend this to family and friends.

Rude staff
We were in Ireland visiting family when we got stuck in Drogheda late. We called the hotel to see if they could help us out since we simply couldn't get to Galway that night. The hotel was very rude and didn't do much to help us with the problem. I understand having cancellation policies, but this one seems to strict. I went online and it was clear the hotel didn't lose out on a reservation since they still had vacancies. Oh well.
