Warning please read !!!

Please do your self a favor and don’t book this hotel. It start from the dangerous elevator escalate to noise from the corridor Until u get inside your room and feel the terrible smell of the room to your bones. The shower is like in jail , toilet is like in 80s in some Mexican hotel and the bed is ok but not comfortable for full night sleep (only if you are super tired) Don’t look for cheap hotels over expensive Athens , if you a plan trip there already just make sure that u book 4 stars hotel minimum because less than that is just nightmare with the hotels all over Athens.

Hotel Staff were friendly however there was a strong cigarette smell in the lobby, area was a little sketchy, however it was around a 6 minute walk to the train and the air conditioning was a life saver. 24 hour reception was also useful

I’m only giving it 3 stars bc I have small bites from either bed bugs or just bugs in general. This didn’t happen to me in my previous stay nor the following stay when I left Athens. I only got bitten in this hotel. So it’s in need of a serious pest control!! On the plus side: The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful! The hotel is conveniently located about one and a half block from the metro station, Metaxourgeio. I don’t recommend walking around the area at night. It’s very dark and has some shady people walking around. P.S. The lock don’t seem very secure and mine actually didn’t work on the last day I was there just before I had a plane to catch but the staff was able to help me gain entry.

Reception owner spoke little english, bedsheets had holes in them, bathroom was dirty and there was a hole in the floor.

For the price it served its purpose but it was quite dirty and old and not in a great part of town. The shower was very small so it was very difficult to wash properly. We had three single beds so the room was also very cramped. As I said it served it’s purpose for the cheap rate we paid.

It was ok. AC worked. Just very old and the room was desperate for a reno. You get what you pay for though

I really don't know how Booking can have that property in their company. It's really bad. I don't recommend it.

do not stay here. the pictures of this hotel online are incredibly inaccurate. it is very old and rusty, and there is a very weird smell in the rooms. the management is very unprofessional and the area around the hotel gets a bit unsafe and noisy at night. we heard the manager yelling on the street outside a couple times, which was very weird. the rooms are also very tight and our room had wires falling out of the wall where an outlet should have been. our main light in the room also didn't work at all and the light that we did have was very dim. the shower situation is miserable and the towels smell very weird. one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed at.

Staying at Hotel Athens Delta was an incredibly disappointing experience. Despite their attempts to air out the moldy rooms by leaving windows open, mosquitoes swarmed in, worsening the discomfort. The air conditioning emitted a musty odor, likely from old filters, and the unreliable toilet flush only added to the frustration. The Wi-Fi was terrible, and the bed sheets and towels were visibly torn with holes. Exposed electrical wiring in our room posed a significant hazard, while the manager's unprofessional and rude demeanor further soured the stay.

Convenient for getting around Athens by public transport

You can’t expect more for 33 bucks a night, honestly. Not suitable for an extended stay but it works if you need a night to yourself

The first room I was given absolutely stunk like cigarettes. When I complained they told me they couldn’t smell anything, I insisted they give me another room and they did. The foyer smells like petrol. Every day I made a complaint about this and they told me I was imagining it and they don’t smell nothing. Only on my check out they admitted it. Wouldn’t stay there again for free.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The pictures are completely deceiving my room #23 had no way to flush the toilet, and the plugs were stolen off the bedside lamps leaving them with bare wires stuck in the outlets. Carpets were ancient and dirty, paintwork was cold chipped and furniture the same. Receptionist was pleasant but the building conditions desperate.

The room was fine, although small. The balcony was good although the view from there is just of a building opposite. What really let it down was the bathroom. It was tiny and awakward. You had to squeeze yourself around the door to get in and out. The shower is handheld only so u cant focus on washing. The shower is small so it's hard to manoeuvre in there. Soap washes off you quicker, the bathroom floods, the shower-cutrain is up your arse. It's like a sitcom. As we pulled up to the hotel, the taxi-driver said "this place is bad".

Horrible hotel , in the projects no AC. No locking door , bathroom handle fell off. Shower did not work. Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. This place should be bulldozed to rubble. Do not stay here

Good location. Cheap price . The room is a little bit old and the bathroom need some work. Otherwise a very nice place to stay. The staff is very nice and very helpful

This hotel isn't bad if you are really looking to save money, but the hotel itself isn't great. The wifi hardly works, the AC in our room had problems, occasionally there is a smell of smoke and the surrounding area isn't the most pleasing. That being said, the price was pretty good.

This hotel is just ok. The STAFF was extremely kind and helpful! The hotel is run down and very old and the shower was AWFUL, a very tiny area with a curtain that sticks to your body! I actually did NOT use the curtain, had to carefully use the water to get wet, shut water off and soap up then spray myself again... A non-smoking room with an ashtray in it??? Breakfast was just okay. Hard boiled eggs, a lunch meat and cheese, toast and cereal were offered as a substance. If I go back to Athens I would try a different hotel.

The staff is very nice. However, the room was always dirty. The breakfast is reasonable, but I expected more.

Value for the money

Very good for the price payed. Close to the centre, calm area. 24h reception, decent breakfast and comfy rooms. Warm water in the shower, which is not always the case in cheap hotels. Not for too fancy people, good for budget travelers.

Did not like anything. We only had to sleep the 1 night as we had a booking in another hotel (Museum Hotel) On of the staff very room. Toilet dirty Breakfast we were told we had to use same spoon as the one used with Bacon. We are muslim and not allowed to touch bacon. I only had tea and toast, No help to take our suitcases up. We were told angerly that only 2 people could only go on the lift. No fridge in room. No telephone in room No safe in room. No water in room. My guests were very un happy to. I did not collect money from them for their rooms. Too emmbaresed . Where as the MUSEUM HOTEL we stayed was 100% fantastic.

The room was horrible, small and the smell was awful, really strong I couldn't even breathe properly. I appreciate that the next day he gave another room slightly larger and no smell. The location is good, but the hotel needs improvements.

Lovely, courteous staff and the rooms were spotless. The bathrooms weren't as modern as I'm used to (ex. handheld shower head), but they were clean and tidy and served their purpose. My room had an AMAZING air conditioner, so I didn't melt overnight in the Grecian heat, and it's in a good location with easy access to touristy things and decent places to eat.

Budget hotel in Athens on a convenient location near the metro. The neighborhood is not the best, but overall fine. Didn't feel unsafe at night, it's just quiet. Rooms are fine, little old dated. There's a stuffy smell when you come in, but fine after you turn on the AC. Shower is tiny. Cleaning starts around 7-7.30 or so with lots of noise our on the hall, so don't expect to be able to sleep in. Doors of the rooms are often stuck so also expect a lot of door slamming. Breakfast is minimal. Wouldn't stay here longer than 2-3 nights.

Not clean enough for family stay

Only good thing is near to Athens Main railway station and metro station.

Be careful with the overweight guy in the front desk! he is so rude.. doesn't speak English that good and makes feel unwelcome. Requested an iron , they don't have one and in the hotel description it says they do. Breakfast is horrible! One morning I had a trip early and asked the guy if I could get an apple from the kitchen because they serve breakfast at 8am. Kitchen 's door was open and he denied it. all rooms smell like cigarette. Horrible experience.. please don't stay here!.

It’s close to transport system which make it easier to go around Athens. Breakfast is the same everyday with very limited options. The room is not as maintained as expected but house kept everyday.

The location of the hotel is close to public transportation and restaurants. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We went during the summer, but the room had a good functioning airconditioner. Our stay in Athens was memorable! Thanks, Athens Delta Hotel!

The bathroom doesn’t have bath tub or shower .. it was so uncomfortable to take a bath and toilet was so old that I can’t find a way to use it . The room doesn’t have phone and the front desk people are very bad . I did not like the hotel .. in the lobby was a strong smell of gasoline all the time its make me sick that smell. It clothes in the lobby.. messy every day.

Needs refreshing

If you can spend a little more look elsewhere but if ok with basic and cheaper you might be ok for a short trip.it desperately needs updating.

The hotel is not bad but the area that located in looks very dangerous specially at night you can see anything if you don’t know how to speak Greek is even worse . But good news it’s really close to everything you’re trying to just take a Uber and you will be fine

Excellent, friendly staff

The staff are extraordinary they are friendly and very accommodating! The hotel itself is not what I would describe as luxury. But if you are looking for a basic room in a good Central location then this is perfect!

Value for money

As with other reviews...cheap as in a run-down location....but near to the centre...my wife did not like it because of the area...very basic breakfast but value for money!!

Stay away if you don't want to sleep on the street

Upon arrival we met very rude old man who barely spoke any english at the front desk. He told us that hotel got overbooked and they will move us elsewhere. We tried to find out which hotel they will move us to, but he started yelling at us and never even told us the name of the place. We tried to explain that we specifically booked this hotel as it was close to whatever place we needed to go in the morning, but there was no reaction or apologies at all. Some other guy came in and told us he will call the taxi for us "without any costs for us" (Duh!) We waited for about half an hour until the taxi showed up and took us to another place which turned out to be a filthy brothel with hourly rate rooms called "new dream hotel". It was a nightmare experience for us because the room was just nasty. It smelled like cigarettes very heavily, to the point that we could not sleep. It was extremely old and dirty with pieces of worn carpet falling off the floor. It was just disgusting. Also knowing that its pretty much a brothel didn't make it any better. The area was very shady even for Athens (with no places to even eat). Oh, and our rate included breakfast, but "new dream" hotel obviously didn't have any, so we basically lost our money. Judging by the time we spend in the lobby of Delta hotel it is no better. Its not out first time in Athens and I strongly recommend not to stay in the centre area but go to the port where there are waaaaay better accommodations for a cheaper price!

Close to metrou. Very nice stuff.

Nice staff, always willing to help. Room is small and smelly (because one can smoke inside although is not ok for the non smokers) but it is clean. 12" TV (only BBC works), old bathroom that will flud with every shower u take. Wi-fi works really bad compared to what I am used to. Sometimes it takes up to 30 min just to upload a photo. Breakfast was nice, all clean, tasty and fresh (coffee, milk, juice, butter and jam, cheese and ham, eggs and fruits) Overall wasn't bad for the amount we have paid. Ideal for budget backpackers who come to explore not to comfort in the hotel room. We have stayed for 4 nights and we survived 😆

The rate of the room included good breakfast, so its really value for money I would say. Would I recommend it to someone or will I return to that hotel if I have another chance to visit Athens? Perhaps No, I would like to try other hotels giving the same price range

Horrific bathroom, bed bites, BYO hairdryer

I booked this as the reviews seemed fairly ok considering the price. The hotel is a little out of the centre, but very close to the metro and city sightseeing bus stop. I arrived late at night, and at first was a little daunted, but it was perfectly safe. Just looks a little run down. On check in I was greeted by a friendly man, who spoke excellent English. quick check in, then went to my room The room looks extremely worn out. There was an old style tv with fussy signal, but you could get BBC news. The room itself, whilst not pleasant, was bearable. Plenty of space and a balcony, that looked out onto the street adjacent. The bathroom was horrific. Mould everywhere. Toilet didn't flush. Cold tap ran boiling water, and sprayed out. The shower was a tiny tray with a shower tap combi style arrangement. You physically couldn't have a proper shower as there was no hook to hang it up. Any attempt to have a shower resulted in a soaking bathroom. No shower mat, and my towels were only changed once on a three night stay My first night I got bitten on my face and legs, which appear to be bed bug bites Breakfast was sparse (cake, bread, cheese) , but the coffee was good. There is only one hair dryer in the hotel, which I was unaware. I borrowed it and didn't bring it back immediately. I was later that day chastised in front of local men and other guests for not doing so...I never used it again The hotel has the means to be much better than it is, which is a shame

Very good value for money. Room was made every day and the service was good.

We had to go to Santorini and Mykonos . Delta Hotel graciously agreed to keep our excess luggage in their hotel(on trust) which saved us a lot of hassles carrying those suitcases dueing the sea trip to Santorini and Mykonos. The positive and helpful attitude of Front desk Mr ?? (aged gentleman) was so touching that we msssed him everywhere else.

The bathroom was really old and groos the hotel is not bad but the room it self was okay i was scared that was the matress with bes bugs the recepcion didn't let us look and we left we didnt even stay that night and they took the money

Budget with a Smile

The staff here saves the place! The system couldn't pull up our prebooking so we had to provide that information (including cost of room), but everyone working behind the desk was extremely helpful for anything including recommendations. It is so nice to stay somewhere that the people seem to care about you!!! The room was below most hotel standards with simplicity, stains, broken items, and not a very good bathroom set up including smell. Huge balcony, Good Internet, & great towels. Minimal Breakfast.

OK Hotel in central OK area

Quality/price OK hotel, booked a room with a good offer, otherwise I wouldn´t pay the standard fare. Lots of issues related to single booking: got the smallest double room, bathroom tiny and uncomfortable, got a regular and a small towel, wasn´t allowed to have visitors in my room. Staff were helpful and nice, but I felt a little controlled and invaded, as I had to leave the keys at the front desk and always had to ring to get in and out at night.

Adequate for a convenient location

We stayed here because it was close to the train station after arriving late from a long train trip. It was adequate and gave us a bed to sleep in for the night. We weren't expecting much more than this. The staff that we interacted with were friendly and polite.

Location saves this place

When we arrived the gentlemen tending the desk was very rude and not helpful at all. I showed him the Expedia itinerary and he still made us give him money to give us a room because he hadn't received the Expedia confirmation. The Wi-Fi was not working for most of the night, water wasn't working on a few floors. The next morning though the guy was very nice and very helpful. If it weren't for him I'd rate this place at a 1 in most categories. The location is really good as well. It is right by the bus terminals, very close to the metro so getting to Acropolis was very simple and quick.

Convient as heck but only for the seasoned.

A couple of blocks away from both train and metro and a 15 -20 minute walk to the Acropolis, this is a perfect location for getting around. The staff were pleasant and often a bit humorous and were fluent in English. This is an old building and it really shows. The TV is an old black and white corner wall mount and is grainy as those who remember "rabbit ears", the carpets still smell of cigarettes (as does all of Athens really) and the shower is in the normal local style - just a sprayer next to the toilet and a drain on the floor ( remember to always keep the toilet paper out of the bathroom until you need it). The room door is just a pop lock but as the front desk is manned 24-7 and the Greeks have a spooky ability to remember all their guests, I, a solo female traveller in my 40's, felt safe. It's a cheap hotel that is slowly going through renovations and I would expect that in a year or so a huge improvement will be apparent. If you a hardened traveller, this is great for the price. If you are used to Travellodge or Comfort Inns, this is not for you.

A one night stay

As mentioned in my previous review, this night's room was so much better, room bigger and was a proper three persons room, rather than the two persons room plus a temporary bed we had during the previous stay. The staffs were friendly and helpful. Good location for the hotel. We appreciated our stay here.

Average Hotel close to train station

A pleasant experience. The hotel is close to train station which makes it convince.

a pleasant stay

we stayed here for three nights, two nights during 05/06-07/06, and another night at 11/06, as we went to visit the islands during the gap. The first two nights was not as pleasant as the last night, they gave us a two persons room with an extra bed, while we finally got a three persons room for the last night, where the room was much bigger and nicer. However, the staffs there are friendly and helpful. We really appreciated their 24 hour reception as we sometimes return late or leave extremely early to catch a flight. The hotel location is very good, nearby all the main tourist spots with a very friendly price, makes it a safe and nice place to stay during our stay in Athens. This hotel is not close to any 'dangerous' area in Athens as well. I would recommend this hotel to all budget travelers who also concern for their safety.

Scarey!

This hotel is the worst hotel I have stayed in. The pictures are misleading to say the least! The bathroom is the worst! The ceiling was leaking. The hallways were scary to walk in. Don't stay here!

I would not recommend this hotel

The hotel has a roof. That is the only nice thing I have to say about it. The rude night shift manager requires you to turn your keys in when you leave. I woke him up to check us out. He did not have the prison style breakfast ready the previous day. The location is a positive with a nearby metro line and 2 km walk to the acropolis. Bottom line, your belongings are marginally more secure than if you leave them unattended on a street corner.

The hotel is near to Monatraski station so getting around Athens by Metro is easy. All the attractions are within reasonable walking distance. This hotel is rather old and the shower room has a lot of defects like leaking taps and no shower holder or screen. Breakfast is very basic.

The owner,staffs are friendly,good location,hotel's facilities rather old but clean enough...overall good!

Der Empfang ist fast 24/7 besetzt und man kommt immer nur durchs klingeln ins Hotel. Der Aufzug ist klein und teils gefährlich, aber okay. Überall (bis auf im Badezimmer) liegt ein Teppich und man möchte nicht wissen was alles drin ist. Die Dusche hat nur einen Duschvorhang, wodurch auch das Zimmer nass werden kann. Renovierungsarbeiten wurden vernachlässigt und Sachen nur geflickt. Wenn die Balkontür zu ist, dann ist es von außen relativ ruhig. Von den dunklen Gassen sollte man sich fern halten.

Beklentiyi çok yüksek tutmamak lazım fiyat permformans olarak iyi bir otel, Metroya çok yakın eski bir bina ama oda temizliği iyidi girşte resepsyonist çok yardımcı oldu.

The room was dirty and bugs allover the place. It smells bad and there was no flipper for shower. Moreover I cant say this place has best location for the tourists because too far from the central.

What a lie this hotel shows in their advertising. The place smells like old and diesel fuel. The first room had broken sockets pulled out of the wall with wires hanging out. Only o e light worked. We askes to change rooms. The second wasn't much better but it had lights at least. Carpets look like they have never been cleaned, ever. The bathroom was not modern as advertised, but about 100 years old. Very small corner shower with dingy disgusting curtain to pull around the tiny space. When I turned on the light, cockroaches scattered!! The only thing about this hotel was an almost friendly staff. The area is close to public transit and hop on hop off bus tours. But getting there takes you through dangerous broken streets and sidwalks with open holes. If your not careful, someone could be very badly hurt. The streets all around are filled with homeless, garbage,etc. Would NEVER recommend this hotel, and in fact warn everyone against it!

I really enjoyed it and would like to thank you for the pleasant stay and I hope to come back.

Muy mala eleccion mejor pagar un poco más por paz

Lamentablemente no me gustó para nada al principio sentí que había llegado a Pakistán había puras personas hablando árabe inclusive el de recepción . Cuando llegue a la habitación me encontré que la cerradura era una simple manija de cuarto es decir muy insegura llevo mis cosas de valor y me preocupe por la gente que se veía a los alrededores haciéndome sentir insegura me percate que en los pasillos no tenías nada de cámaras de seguridad, soy alérgica y todo olía a baigon ( es decir repelente de ese fuerte para cucarachas) y el cuarto olía a cigarrillo impregnado en todo el mobiliario, muy poco espacio apenas se podía acceder al baño bordeando la cama. El baño feisimo y la ducha mínima para colmo la cortina se te pega al cuerpo cuando te duchas pase una noche muy intranquila, salí un momento por la noche y le comenté al Recepcionista mi intranquilidad por mi seguridad porque te piden la llave naturalmente para salir y me dijo que me fuera si quería (de verdad por la hora y chequee y ciertamente no había cupo a una tarifa modesta en las cercanias) porque de lo contrario me hubiera ido gracias al universo solo fue una noche las demás noches me aloje en un maravilloso hotel en el puerto de Pireus. De verdad que recomiendo no quedarse ni siquiera en esta zona de metaxourgio es fatal llena de indigentes gente rara de verdad caótico a pesar de estar allí grandes cadenas de 5 estrellas la zona no es buena y el hotel menos

Séjour vacances Toussaint

Accueil sympathique, réceptionniste (en journée) agréable et compétent! Serviettes de toilettes changées chaque jours... Une serviette complètement effilochée nous a été mise le dernier jour. Petit-déjeûner correcte. Etablissement NON FUMEUR mais les chambres sentent énormément le tabac froid! Dur quand on est asthmatique!!! Aucune isolation phonique entre les chambres. Problèmes d'écoulements d'eau dans les petites salles de bain.

Le personel est très accueillant très sympa. Il est proche de tout . La salle de bain est petite sinon dans l'ensemble tres correct

Das Hotel ist etwas ruhiger gelegen und gut zu Fuß vom Zentrum zu erreichen. Das Hotel ist schlicht und einfach was auch in Ordnung ist, allerdings waren an den Wänden um die Fenster Schimmel. Das war weniger toll. Das Personal war freundlich und der Check in/Check ihr war unkompliziert.

Pas une bonne idée

La présence de cafards dans la chambre nous a obligé à quitter les lieux dès la première nuit, la salle de bain est minuscule et vétuste et la peinture de la porte douteuse (moucheté marron ),la moquette de la chambre est tachée et aurait besoin de rencontrer au minimum l'aspirateur, le quartier est peu attrayant et présence de personnes désoeuvrés, bref pas un lieu de villégiature à mes yeux !

Non ho mai scritto una recensione dopo un viaggio ma questa volta ho deciso di farlo per dissuadere chiunque dal prenotare in questo hotel. La camera era orribile: non era stata pulita prima del nostro arrivo. In bagno era tutto sporco: dal porta sapone lurido, al piatto della doccia inguardabile e il wc non ve lo nomino neanche, la tenda della doccia bianca appariva marrone. La stanza aveva la mochette che mandava un odore autenticamente disgustoso, macchiata. Vi consiglio di non provare neanche a spostare il letto: la mochete era nera per la sporcizia e ho addirittura trovato oggetti lasciati dai precedenti ospiti. Arrivare di notte dopo un viaggio stancante in questo posto è sconfortante. Le pulizie durante il soggiorno non so in cosa consistono dato che non ti mettono asciugamani puliti e non buttano spazzatura. Devo dire che le lenzuola erano pulite, ma non ho avuto il coraggio di guardare al di sotto. Le foto del sito non corrispondono alla realtà. Personale dell'hotel: uno dei due proprietari è abbastanza cordiale, l'altro è scontroso e per niente disponibile. Abbiamo chiesto aiuto per parlare al telefono in greco con compagnia di taxi e non ha voluto in nessun modo nonostante gli avessimo spiegato che uno di noi aveva smarrito il telefono: lo ha solo preso in giro per averlo perso e perche si affannava nella ricerca. La posizione è buona perche servita dai mezzi pubblici. Colazione: il cappuccino (nescafe) viene 1,5€.potete comprare acqua grande 1€Sconsiglio!!!!

Fint hotel. Lidt gammelt, og ikke noget fancy, og det eneste vi manglede en smule var et køleskab. Tæt på metrostation. Rigtig fin, simpel morgenmad 😊.

Bokade via hotels men det kan hotellet inte se förrän dagen efter. Se till att ha bokningen utskriven på papper!

Un po’ deluso.

Hotel situato in posizione centrale ma la zona è alquanto degradata. Gestito non da Greci, accoglienza discreta, ma non esiste il parcheggio nel l’hotel come indicato nelle pubblicità anzi raccomandano di portare l’auto in garage per essere sicuro contro atti vandalici. Colazione semplice senza varianti per 6 giorni. Forniture e decoro della camera con aspetto molto vecchio e poco funzionale, 1 spina di corrente in tutto. Con poco restauro e un po’ più di attenzione potrebbe essere meglio.
