It's position right on the beautiful Memories beach. The only thing I would say, maybe change the breakfast from day to day a little bit. We had 6days days of the same, it was all lovely and tasty but some changes would be welcome
Amazing property a little remote from other restaurants. But the resort is beautiful and the villa is super convenient for a family. Highly recommend
Perfect!
An excellent stay at this hotel. We were treated like royalty from the start and the staff were incredibly helpful. Pools are all lovely and clean. Restaurants are nice. We can’t wait to go back.
The view and beach was amazing. The little surf shop/cafe next door was an added bonus!
Great hotel
Good hotel but showing its age.
Overall it was ok.Well maintained but showing its age. Corridors were unlit and dark to save energy. Staff were fantastic and an asset to hotel. F&B prices were reasonable for 41/2 star hotel. Spa was also reasonbly prived. Shower head bracket was broken but we made do with some inconvenience. Disappointed with the beach as waters not clear and the gradient too shallow even at high tide. The pools were saved the day
A peaceful getaway.
A nice resort to stay. The location is a bit far from the main highway but it is worth the drive. The beach was pristine and really peaceful. The food at the resort was great. Would return.
Apsara Thailand
Wonderful staff who were all polite and extreamly helpful and happy, from the cleaners to the staff at the front desk everyone was amazing. Buffet food was a bit dissapointing however the other eating options on site were good. Nearby there are also restaurants which are cheap and a taxi into Kaho Lak is very easy and cheap. We are already planning to come back :)
The Property is stunning. The staff are wonderful and all so friendly. The location is perfect, and having Memories Bar across the inlet is great, the meals and drinks are cheap and delicious. We loved our stay here.
The fantastic location of this property is the must. also, the frindly staff contribute to a perfect stay.
We booked a villa and it was amazing. Completely private and perfect for a family or couples. Three staffs cleaned rooms and a pool everyday but only disappointment was a floor cleanliness. They sweep the floor but didn’t blush it. It would be much cleaner if they’ll clean up the floor tile. At the beach and the public pool, there were a bar and its staff was perfect! There were a guy named Ram, his service level was quite high.
Great spot on the beach! Staff are warm and friendly with professional service.
Best Holiday resort in Thailand
This Was my Second time at Apsarah best holiday ever , good food , the staff was amazing , Jane was very helpful and always went the extra mile for us,, thank you for a brilliant Holiday Apsara. will definitely come back
It’s a nice hotel, big and but not too much else around. Food was ok, but overpriced. All the staff were nice and friendly. The beach and pool area was nice but it rained the whole rime I was there so didn’t get to enjoy. There are a couple of beach bars along the beach, but Memories was closed when I was there and the other place I just managed a cocktail in, the only customer, before it rained. A little bit boring for a solo traveller.
Great location. One of the nicest beach in KhaoLak.
Very chill . And nice garden's and staff. Very clean
Beautiful hotel and Villas. Excellent service. Friendly staff. Lovely food. Perfect for surfing. Beautiful clean beach with beautiful sunsets.
Nice hotel
Nice hotel. They upgraded us to a villa which was really lovely. Staff weren’t that friendly at the restaurant. Almost too much trouble to serve us. Breakfast wasn’t great. Lovely beach
Beautiful hotel, great area.
Apsara is set on the beach - miles of white, sandy, beautiful beach! And if that's not enough for you there's Coconut Beach very close by; we hired bikes from the hotel and cycled in 10 mins. The hotel is wonderful, the service excellent, breakfast is a massive, freshly presented/cooked buffet of choice and the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. We were visiting with our adult sons (20 and 21yrs). They hired mopeds from local shops (5mins up the road) and we all had regular massages there for £7.50. There is an ATM at a hotel just up from the shops (10mins walk). The taxi's from the hotel are good and not a bad price but you can also barter with those just outside the hotel entrance. We were bed & breakfast so a major plus was Memories Bar, an authentic beach bar located along the beach from the hotel selling great value tasty Thai food and drinks/cocktails - happy hour 5.30-6.30pm! Memories can be accessed across the sand or by walking across the hotel's own bridge. Naturally the hotel whilst it houses all the services you might require, is more expensive than venturing out and about the area. The local water falls, Elephant home (rescued elephants 5 mins walk from Memories bar), many markets and trips to the Islands are amazing. We went to the Surin Islands for the snorkelling and the sea was the bluest I could ever have imagined. Taxi ride to Khao Lak shopping/restaurant strip on the other hand left us cold, not our thing. Quite the most wonderful holiday ever!
Nice restaurants and cheaper foods outside hotel. There is a Elephants home walking distance from the hotel.
Paradise. Close to beach. Goos for a relaxing holiday.
Friendly staff, great atmosphere. We just had a fabulous stay.
The food was the only criticism, all looked and sounded good, but was either precooked and heated or just didn’t have the freshness, but I did have an omelette cooked for me which was delicious
The hotel location and beach is amazing, plenty of activities and our kids had a great time. The beach is wonderful. The hotel facilities however leave a lot to be desired. Broken shower, broken hot Tub, door handles come off in the hand, twice. Concrete floors are stained and the level of cleanliness is poor. We didn’t complain as we weren’t there to stay in the room. We booked a villa, which was constructed in 2012 and it was already falling apart despit being only 5 years old. Either the villas were constructed in a hurry and poor quality, or there is just no maintenance program to keep up the hotel. The food was not good. Our family still had a great time as the beach was amazing which is why we were there. Great sunsets, warm inviting water. But the facilities themselves really need maintenance.
Nice hotel close to beach, no snorkelling - beach too flat
Amazing place to stay
It was amazing, food was brilliant something new every night. Staff were amazing with the kids and so happy and friendly. Pool villa was beautiful
Family trip
House keeping not very good. Didn’t do much in room than swopped towels. We made one or two complaints for tv not working but it never got attended to. Beautiful hotel if you stay on villa side. Villa pool and Nepali restaurant is lovely. The hotel side feels very tired and busy. Located in a very quiet area with just one other restaurant around -Memories beach bar just opposite villa section. All inclusive villa section is good. A la carte and much to choose from.
Amazing APSARA
great place been 6 times now friendly staff great area and so relaxing a must for anyone going to Thailand
Boring
Dirty, dated and in a rubbish location. Very expensive when you’re there.
Nice beach resort
Nice beach resort in a secluded area. Not near the busier town areas or other eateries, but there are several bars and restaurants to choose from in the resort. Good for relaxing and enjoying the pools and beach on site.
Pool Villa is the only way to go
We had the best stay at Apsara. We stayed in their pool villa and it was absolutely amazing. Complete privacy. Anyone on a honeymoon has to stay in their pool villa. We only wish we had more time at this hotel. The restaurants provide fabulous food, with nightly live music. The beach is powder white sand.
A hidden gem in a quiet location
We were not disappointed with our stay and wished we stayed longer. Hotel was lovely & offered lots to do but most you have to pay for. Great breakfast & friendly staff. We hired a scooter to travel around as its a bit away from the town centre but the hotel offers a shuttle service with 2 drop off points at 100 baht per person each way. Will definetly go back to Apsara if we come to Khao lak again.
Right on the beach
Great location on the beach. Room was great and view of the pool. Food was pretty good too.
Relaxixng Stay
We did have a lovely relaxing time at the hotel and spent many hours floating in the pool overlooking the Andaman Sea. However, we were disappointed that the hotel was so far from town. We had hoped to be able to walk around the shops and restaurants whenever we felt like a break from the hotel but a 20 minute drive each way meant that this became a much bigger activity. Also I felt that it was shame that there were only 2 options for dining, either the buffet or small restaurant on the beach. Another dining area with a bit of variety would be nice when staying for a number of days. One other area that could perhaps be reviewed would be a nice sized lounge area away from the foyer where you could sit in the event of wet weather so that you could still mix with other guests.
On the beach Gem.
Stayed for 5 nights , was upgraded to a beachfront deluxe room which was magnificent. Pros : Hotel was in a great position for us because I enjoy the surfing beach and I can hire Surfboards At Memories Bar which is a short walk. No real need to travel far because this Hotel and the area have almost everything you need. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Villa section has a fantastic swimming pool. Breakfast was great, eat enough to last you the day. Cons: The matresses were a bit firm for our liking. Need an Australian flag at the main pool area.
Bad hotel
The hotel is big and have 2 parts, ne part has regular hoter and the other has only villas. Some of the pictures were taken on the side of the villas so i was disappointed when i arrived at the hotel. The hotel is outdated and not reserved, torn umbrellas and molded tanning beds. Good pool and beautiful sea view. Breakfast was not good, food was oily and felt cheap. the restaurant by the sea is really good, exellent food and very good service. As for the room, they gave us an upgrade to delux room. There was a smell of mold in the room, cracks in marble at the sink and molded into the bathroom. On the second day we discovered ants along the wall in the bedroom. The wifi did not work well and hung up every few minutes. In order to get a second key to the room they asked a deposit if 3000 bats. In conclusion i do not recommend this hotel. I wish i’d taken pictures
Lovely stay at the Villas.
The Hotel is clearly split in to 2 resorts. The Hotel side and the villa side. We stayed in a Pool villa and it was huge for just 2 people. The villa side is like an oasis compared to the hotel side in our opinion. I am never a fan of All inclusive type resorts and for Thailand I certainly do not like the concept. We had a lovely stay and will certainly be returning. It wont be for everyone as the hotel is quite far from town with only a few local restaurants within walking distance. The very best is Martini which is incredible and they staff really look after like nothing you have ever experienced before.
Beautiful beachfront hotel
The villa side of the hotel is amazing. Great restaurant and pool, steps to the beach. Rooms comfortable and clean, private pools great. Good breakfast. Out of main town but easy to get around and good local restaurants.
Hotel overcharged and took money for services which they did not provide. They charged us an extortionate amount for a meal and did not refund us. They promised us services such us spas and excursions but failed to deliver.
Excellent Resort for a Relaxing Holiday
We spent 7 nights at Apsara Resort during low (rainy) season and it rained half of the time. If you're looking for a relaxing quiet holiday, it is the place to be. All their staff was very friendly and communication was not a problem. Food and drinks within the resort are very well priced, as well as the beach massage offered. Highly recommended!
Fantastic beach
Had a fabulous holiday , beach is huge and very clean. Lovely place t for a total chill out. Went B/B as great restaurants outside of hotel.. Lots of trips to do at reasonable prices
Khao Lak Apsara
Lovely hotel. Good amenities (pool/massage etc). Staff were lovely. Very good food Breakfast had everything anyone would have wanted. And an amazing beach (that was spotless) to walk along. Lovely hotel for couples or families
good stay staff were always pleasant and helpfull
nice resort
everything was great except for the beds , very hard and uncomfortable
Pool villa amazing but good not great
The pool villa was incredible but the food was consistently not good- poor breakfast and a la carte menu for lunch and dinner. Walked past the buffet one evening and did not look good at all
Brilliant stay
Fantastic stay, staff very helpful, beautiful beach and if you like walking along beach, you won't get better, restaurants on site lovely, but try the local restaurants, cheap helpful and all lovely people.
Beautiful setting with excellent and friendly staf
Totally beautiful experience with the the most friendly and attentive staff Cannot find one thing to criticize. Beautiful.
Quiet resort beautiful outlook
Facilities and staff excellent but room only just ok
Little bit of paradise
Brilliant Hotel and staff, great position with lovely beaches. Away from Town about 15 mins, though not too much in the town. Hotel advertised free shuttle service, this is not correct as Hotel do charge, not Hotels fault. Strongly recommend couldn't find anything wrong ....enjoy
Great resort on the beach
Resort on the beach. Great breakfast and dinner menus. Very comfortable accommodation. Great location for a family get away.
Nice and clean hotel
Great holiday, everyone was really nice and friendly.
Pool Villa!
We were upgraded to a pool villa, what an experience! Fantastic place, with a private beach.
Relaxed hotel on the beach
Quiet and comfortable. Really nice staff, such friendly people. The hotel is a little out of town. However there is a shuttle or you can catch a taxi. I was visiting the area for scuba diving and the dive operators will pick you up no matter who you are diving with.
Friendly staff
Unfortunately we had very bad weather for 2 weeks which limited what we could do. Hotel complex is designed for good weather. The complex is a little remote and taxis are required. The staff though are very kind and friendly. Some of the bathrooms could do with a face lift. Great beach location.
Chill Out Holiday
My husband and I have been to Phuket three times in the past 15 years. This time we wanted to try a different area so headed north to Khao Lak. Khao Lak is much quieter and a bit like what Patong etc was when we visited late 90's. In this regard it is really lovely. Suited us because we just wanted a relaxation holiday. The Spa was lovely but a bit expensive but in line with most other resort spa services that I've used in the past. The Beach Massage Ladies who are located on the site are in my opinion better for a healing massage and the one that I had was fabulous and I think that I should have simply gone there each day and spent much less than using the Resort Spa because they really put a great effort into giving a great back and shoulder massage. I would recommend the use of the Beach Spa to anyone who is going to stay at this resort and use the room robe to go down to them and then you don't have to worry about removing bathers or personal privacy and you can just peel off your robe and have your back, shoulders, legs/arms massaged and put your robe back on and then return to your room. The Resort Spa is great too if you are a bit shy however. The on site restaurant suited us because it was the green season and rather wet, however the restaurants down the road will collect you and delivery you back free of charge each night and the food is much more affordable and very nice also. We did not eat at Memories Bar but had drinks on a couple of occasions.
Wonderful week
Villa with pool - wonderful accommodation. Good Wi-Fi around resort. Resort bars and restaurants well priced with excellent selection of food. Staff all lovely. Some language barriers but manageable. Push bikes need upgrading.
Nice Hotel, close to beach and pools.
Enjoyed my recent stay at the Apsara. Nicely situated next to beach and provided out door swimming pools for both adults and children. Hotel 'a la cart food' is good and mid price range, if not all inclusive, alcoholic drinks are not cheap at around BAHT 250 for a G&T. Khaolak is a few kilometers away and a return trip by taxi for up to 4 people is BAHT 550 or use the hotel shuttle bus to the markets & town. Staff amazingly friendly and polite and everywhere was impeccably clean. The gardens are beautifully kept. WIFI coverage almost everywhere including beach.
Average older 4 star resort
Ok stay. Friendly employees. Nice setting in front of a beach. Attractive off season rates. Advertised photos are a bit deceiving. Old resort with renovated rooms. Dark hall ways. No elevators. Bad bathroom smell come into the bedroom. Left after one night stay.
I stayed in a Pool Villa for 3 nights in July with my wife and two children aged 3 and 2. The Pool Villas are located away from the main hotel just across a small inlet; this area has it's own restaurant and bar, fitness center and communal pool. The proximity to the main hotel makes it feel like a small exclusive resort. The staff were very polite and friendly, especially with the kids, and there were always plenty of staff at hand. I highly recommend this hotel.
Nice Hotel on the beach
Overall it was a very pleasant stay. The hotel is directly on the beach, but all sun loungers are on the hotel grounds, not directly on the beach. Our room was spacious and clean, daily housekeeping did a great job. We especially enjoyed the cooking class in the hotel, great experience. The front desk was very helpful in booking other special request excursions, thanks!
Nice Beach hotel in Khaolak
Nice hotel, we get free upgrade to pool access room. very appreciated. We love the Zeus Bar at hotel open till late night staff name "B" she is very friendly and so help full.
Great location overlooking the beach and sunsets.
The Villas with a private pool are excellent. Dining at night on the beach is a real treat. I would like to see a change in water activities whereby there is no cost to the use of kayaks, body boards etc..
Great Location but service could be improved
Fantastic beach location, but hotel is a little isolated from other entertainment facilities eg Restaurants, Bars, ATM Furniture in rooms getting a little tired, beds are very firm (not a problem for me). The hotel could be so much better if service was improved & more/better entertainment added.
Secluded white sand beach!
We stayed three nights in the room overlooking the beach. It was nice overall and we would love to stay there again although we would choose to stay at the Villa next time. Very close to the really nice beach bar (Memories) which offered refreshing cocktails and yummy Thai food as well as surf boards and boogie boards rental.
RELAXING HOTEL ON PERFECT BEACH SETTING
Hotel is perfect for a relaxing stay on a stunning beach. The hotel has very little entertainment to offer so if you are a party animal it is definately not for you. However, if you are happy to be located in paradise to do little more than chill out with great food and a good standard clean hotel it could be the perfect choice.
Apsara is great if you have a pool villa! Beach is fabulous
Amazing views, very relaxing
Great food, great staff, great location, just perfect.
apsara hotel.
Not too much choice for eating locally but a 15 minute taxi ride will get you into centre of khao lak. Hotel had excellent food if you dont mind paying the extra. If you want a beautiful beach and a quiet resort this is the place to be.
We had a great experience at the hotel. The service was great. Food was good. A bit too far to the city. But thinking of the tsunami we Would Say that the location for the hotel felt a bit like a trap. You had to drive 1,5 km along the beach before you could get away from the water. We would say that the signs with escape routes made us even more concerned since it didn't feel like a real option.
Nice quiet beach resort
Lovely quiet beach resort, we were upgraded to a pool access room which was nice but then we discovered the main hotel pool was closed anyway and then a little disappointed when they also started works on the decking at the pool in front of our rooms covering the surface in sawdust. Breakfast was in the villa complex area a short walk over the bridge and over the inlet separating the resort from the villa area. The breakfast was good though although at times difficult to get staff attention - that said the mainly Filipino staff were very friendly and nice. We tried the restaurant a few times and the food was very nice although buffet could have been a little more varied for my liking. Transport is required if you like to venture out, we hired a car at airport as this is good value when you factor the cost of two airport shuttles. The sea is more suited to surfers than swimmers but very nice in my opinion.
Beautiful place-great stayed!!
We had a hard time finding the hotel at first. Since we were there in a " low season " everything around was closed. Our check-in was great, they offered to upgraded our 2 deluxe family rooms into 2 villas. The villas that we had was perfect for family of 4. Our 2 children were able to fit and sleep in their very comfortable sofa bed. We stayed 3 nights here and we love it! The only thing we were really didn't care for it was breakfast buffet, it seems to us that it didn't have many various food, Thai food, fruit options. The location is great for peace and quiet, but it's quite isolated from shopping, stores, and town. The beach is great for children but can be rough sometimes.
Secluded hotel buy the beach
We were really wowed when we arrived, our family of two adults & teenage son & 8yr daughter. Everybody very friendly & helpful & always with a smile. We stayed in deluxe double room with swimming pool. As I have read this place is remote & in low season as when we went, you need a taxi to get to the nearest mini mart. This was arranged easily by the hotel but expensive 300 baht return only a ten minute journey. The nearest market which ran Monday's Wednesday & Saturday was 500 baht return, 300 one way if you got your taxi back. excellent market too, good food & good all round shopping at decent prices. The beach was empty & the sea left plenty of unwanted debris that I hope would be cleared up in the high season. Our double bed which was a great size, was very hard & made for many an uncomfortable night but that would be my only moan. My son & daughter had share a bed setee which they dealt with but it could have been better! At night time we shared our big bed for the four of us to watch a dvd which you could pick from reception for free, not a brilliant choice but ok. The food was a buffet at breakfast & buffet or Al a carte in evening. The buffet in evening wasn't ideal for our fussy 8 yr & at 225baht for her (450 for us) wasn't a good deal. She would end up having pizza! It could be more varied the menu especially when you stay as long as we did, 11 nights. So we ended up going to the market late on so we could eat there too, better food & so much cheaper !
Paradise on the beach
We were not expecting the resort to be so amazing. This is paradise on the beach. The beach is endless and inviting, the pools are so perfect and inviting. We had the best holiday. Everything was smooth and calm without issues. The staff at reception were simply incredibly willing to go the extra mile to make sure that we had a great holiday. We ate breakfast at the resort everyday and the food was fresh and delicious. We also ate at the restaurants and the food was also great.
Great relaxing villa
Staff at restaurants and around the resort were great and the villa was brilliant, allowing great relaxation.
Clean and friendly hotel
Excellent clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff.Lovely choice of swimming pools.Good choice of breakfast options.Beautiful beach front setting.
Relax and chill
the hotel is very nice and clean...abit far from Khaolak centre. Staff are friendly. Beautiful beach. Got everything you need there if you just want to relax. Drinks are abit pricey. Don't book your tour at the hotel you can get better prices at Khaolak centre shop around and bargain for everything.
Excellent experience to live in
What you can expect from a hotel... You tell and Apsara will definitely meet it. Awesome experience and excellent experience The only thing which was a bit scary was the hotel's location. Hotel is about 5 km away from main road in Khao Lak which makes a little scary to travel in night times
Really comfortable Hotel with a terrific beach!
We stayed at the Apsara hotel for two weeks with the intention of careering all over the place doing all the touristy things during the first week and then lazing for the second. Perfect! My girlfriend and I did exactly that. We used the Apsara as a base going off for a trip to Bankok (Kanchanaburi to see the Tiger santury, bridge over the river kwai and death railway at hellfire pass) and also a day trip booked though the (very good) travel agents at the Apsara to James bond Island. We really enjoyed the ride into the local town for shopping and for dinner but got lazy by week two and stayed in the hotel as the quality of the food, service and entertainment was excellent. Wonderful beech and gentle sea, very relaxing! Great hotel, we would gladly stay again!
Great hotel
What cab I say, staff food hotel beach, all brilliant, staff do helpful and if there's room try will upgrade with no problems, hope to go back☺
Second consecutive year staying at the hotel.
Excellent is probably not a good enough description. Everything top class
Winter break
Stayed in a pool villa which was superb, hotel a little remote but a great place to stay, perfect sand as far as you can see,a good selection of food but not the cheapest, taxi £6 to Khao lak city where there are more places to eat, some beach resteraunts whithin walking distance
Peace and quiet in khao lak for week.
Great stay with upgrade to villa. Thank you Apsara for this as made all the difference to enjoyment of stay. It's a bit isolated but glad not near main town. Some eating places nearby and good cocktails at nearby hotel as everything in Apsara is expensive. Lovely breakfast. Did similan Islands tour and elephant trek. Khao lak still feels under the legacy of the tsunami and may struggle re development due to this. Avoided memories bar contrary to positive reviews. Found them expensive and not that great re food.
Lovely Resort in quieter area
I have booked a Deluxe Room but we were upgraded to a Pool Villa. And it was fantastic! Staff are lovely and the hotel is clean. We had a hire car, which helped, as the hotel is a little out of the way
Great Location
The hotel is in an amazing location, the beach is clean and the sea beautiful. Sadly the hotel have allowed a dog onto the grounds and the dog has made it home. Consequently the dog drinks from the swimming pool, urinates at the side of the pool and excretes by the sun beds. This was reported to management but no effort was made to clean up the dirt. The hotel staff do not appear to be aware of cleanliness and are not at all attentive.
Nice getaway
Nice hotel and staff. Perfect for relaxing days at the beach. Rather far from the little town but several restaurants close by.
Great hotel resort by the beach.
Nice quiet resort by the beach. Great breakfast buffet
It doesn't get much better than here
What a wonderful hotel. Staff and facilities were excellent and our pool villa was perfect. Location peaceful but easy to get out and about by taxi, motorbike or on foot. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Restaurants were well priced and high quality. Didn't want to leave.
Fantastic hotel, top quality room and facilities
We arrived late to a very courteous and efficient check in at the Apsara; opened the door to a fantastic sea front room, which was all the more appreciated when we opened the curtains in the morning to find the beach right under our nose. Absolutely wonderful stay, in a really nice part of Thailand which is recovering so well after the devastation of 2004. This is not a place for the night Owls and Ravers, in fact the only downside was the fact that the evenings could be just a bit too sedate; but that is probably due to being there at the start of the season. If you want bouncing bars and the rest then stay closer in to Khao Lak town. Everywhere we went along the very very long beach, we were greeted by friendly and efficient staff from the smallest one person pop up, to the more established beach bar/restaurants. Be sure to try a meal at the little restaurant at the very end of the beach road (about 1km away from the Apsara, easy walking) it is worth the effort to go on (early) past the few usual stops clustered around the junction.
Amazing hotel 5 * all the way!!!
We stayed in 7 different hotels whilst in Thailand and Apsara was fantastic and the best out of all of the hotels. We stayed in the pool villa for our wedding anniversary ( highly recommended to everyone) you will not be disappointed.
Great hotel with good facilities on the beach
Great holiday, friendly people who make you very welcome- good beach restaurant called Memories recommend you visit it especially for the fire show! Did the Similan trip snorkeling off the reef which was amazing and the elephant trekking.
Beachfront location , very private and exclusive !
The hotel staff were very motivated providing unpretentious , warm and respectful service . From front desk Golf , Mika and Jasper were most helpful . Everywhere we moved around the various people and guests spontaneously greet each other , this shows a high level of satisfaction and mutual respect . The buggy drivers were first class . We were also very pleased with the breakfast served and especially impressed by the Padthai Koong So(fried noodle with shrimps) ? at the beach terrace -one of the best we had in Thailand ! Also liked the firm supportive bed.
Enjoyable Stay
7 Night stay , photos on internet appeared to be different from actual resort, had a enjoyable stay. Resort positioned on absolute beach front but it was a considerable distance from the town.
Serene hotel on beach
Great beach break away from crowds and nearby shops and restaurants.
Facilities: Nice ; Value: Affordable; Service: Friendly; Cleanliness: Pleasant; The Private Pool Vila was excellent value.. Great in the off season. Staff were very friendly and helpfull .
Low price, but you'll pay
Great beach and nice rooms. Everything else is quite disappointing. The location means that you have little choice but to pay high price for bad food and other cheezy add-ons. Many clueless staff - not helpful and generally frustrating to deal with. The taxi service, which is needed to go anywhere, is overpriced and poorly run. They added items to the final bill which shouldn't have been there, and were dishonest when questioned.
Beautiful setting
We really enjoyed our stay at Apsara. The resort was beautiful and it was right on the beach which was fantastic. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were fantastic and the buffet dinner was really good also. We did some day trips while we stayed there and organised them through the tour specialist there. Very enjoyable! We met lots of interesting people from all over the world while we were enjoying the great pool. Would definitely recommend Apsara, not as touristy as Phuket, very relaxing.
Ideal beachfront location
We chose the Apsara Resort for our holiday accommodation because of its location not too far from another resort where we attended a family wedding. Apsara turned out to be an ideal choice and we were fortunate to stay in one of the resort's garden villas. This was our little corner of paradise, close to the white sandy beach and also the lively beach café. Most nights we had dinner at the resort's Zeus Beach Bar, where the food was of consistently good quality, especially rock lobster. Breakfast at Napalai restaurant, with its open vista towards beach and sea, made a relaxing start to the day. The breakfast selection was good, e.g. omelettes made to order. The villas are set apart from the hotel, not far on foot, but it was never any trouble to hotel staff to ferry us to/from the hotel in their little electric cars. Our first impression of our villa was of space and luxury, and we thoroughly enjoyed it as our home during our stay. Its facilities were excellent and as good as in 5-star hotels. Service was good and the friendly staff welcomed us and made us comfortable. The resort location is remote but that was its attraction for us as it’s on the beach and we could visit other beaches nearby, using bicycles from the hotel to get there as we did. Beach massages are available right by the resort and there is also a full-service spa. We had a great time at Apsara and would recommend it to other travellers wanting a relaxing holiday as a change away from the busy Phuket area.
Great location and amazing staff team!
We had a great time, while staying at Apsaras Khao Lak. All the staff members are very helpful and responsiveness, doing everything to make of your holidays the best. From the reception team to the smiling housekeepers we had only positive experience with them. The restaurant offer delicious traditional Thai food to die for. We came back home already planning our next holidays at The Apsaras.
Pleasant surprise
On the drive over to the resort, it felt a little far from the main town of Khao Lak, maybe about 20 minutes. But when we got to the resort, it was bigger than expected and really beautiful! You can tell it's not new, but for being in a relatively remote, not built up beach town, it's very nicely done. Their beach seating area is nice with a groomed lawn. They have a beach bar area and a restaurant on the sand. The outside of the rooms, you can tell are also not new but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The AC in our room worked great. Oh and the pool was big and awesome!
Beach was unique. I like everything about Apsara. Fantastic breakfast too.
