Average place to stay in Athens
Good location and connection to the city and attractions. Wi-fi was terrible and breakfast was a bit average. The bed wasn't that comfortable and the mattress making a squeaky sound...
Amazing!!! Experience, excellent location very close from the metro station and the breakfast very complete
Convenient
Overall the hotel is clean and the room is big and comfortable. However, it is located at area that seems to be inconvenient to walk at night. But for the price given, it is reasonable.
Everything went well.
Great location, very good breakfast and perfect price.
Great hotel, friendly staff but not the best area
So loud on the street, could not sleep overnight even all the windows are closed
Inexpensive, clean, new Wyndham Hotel across the street. Traditional area near great restaurants.
Beautiful rooftop view right in the heart of the centre. Can walk everywhere and easy access to metro stations. Great breakfast. The younger staff more friendly and helpful than the older lady at reception.
Good location close to metro and action, clean safe
Staff was so rude and not help at all. Especially a lady in the counter she yelled me.
This is a very good three star hotel. Area is a little rough but we were in and out of the hotel a lot and never had any problems. Staff were helpful and friendly. Housekeeping came everyday with clean towels and did a good job and the breakfast was much better than expected with lots of variety and staff worked hard to keep the breakfast area neat and well stocked as some days were very busy ( we stayed four nights) The hotel is close to the metro line ( we’re from the uk and found this hard to navigate ) public buses and something we highly recommend for value is the hop on and of tourist bus a mere three minute walk away from the hotel to the bus stop and such good value.of course being close to transport means traffic! Luckily the rooms are triple glazed. Also conveniently located a three minute walk away is the bread factory. Great for treats and snacks. We had a strawberry slushie every day as it was so hot during our visit. One of the best points of the hotel is the rooftop bar with it stunning view of the Acropolis. They could do with better lighting on the stairway up to it though.
Great stay! Thank you!
Convenient and simple hotel
Comfortable room with few amenities. Bedside outlets made charging cell phone convenient. Management were friendly and accommodating in changing our room to a balcony. Breakfast was simple but quite adequate.
Good location. But, bathroom was very old, with no hangers for towels, and other personal items. No AC for half day. It was very hot. Had to leave to another hotel. Very disappointed.
Great location in city center. Close to Metro, food, shopping, etc. From our balcony we could see the Parthenon and Acropolis. The bed was too hard for my taste but overall great place to stay.
The front desk attendant was absolutely wonderful! Was able to go above and beyond to help us and answer our many questions. Helped us figure out a way to the airport even with a transportation strike 5/5 The hotel room shower head was broken and there were clumps of hair in our bed. Was very loud during the night from people in hallway talking and traffic. The lights were all different shades of bulbs. The area the hotel is in is incredibly unsafe and has lots of illegal activity going on. A police man told us while walking home that it is a very unsafe place to stay for women. The front desk assistant however made the stay worth it as he was absolutely wonderful
Not a 3 star, 2 at best
Hotel is supposed to be a 3 star, was a 2 at best. Hotel is dated, tired and very dull, and constantly smelt of cigarette smoke, the bathroom was very basic, the balcony only has 1 chair as it was so small. Breakfast was ok but no bread or toaster. Wouldn't stay here again as it was also very noisy from the road
Property was very clean but was rundown and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. Bathroom was very small and the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor.
clean
Acceptable hotel but a lot of street noise
Excellent property.
Apollo Hotel is a basic hotel with all the amenities needed for a short stay in Athens. The breakfast options are small but tasty, the location is close to the train station and there is a nice view of the acropolis from the higher floors. If you stay here you could consider catching the train to the city centre, however there are still many nice restaurants nearby.
The Amenities in the room are only two towels and shower gel with soap, there is no kettle, no water , no bath rug was a bit disappointed by that. My room was on first floor from my window I could see other hotel wall, the noise from downstairs the kitchen is very strong especially in the morning during breakfast and overall you can hear everything which is disturbing the sleep. While booking on hotels.com was written free room upgrade however there was nothing done and stuff told me that I will not get it. The location is very poor, streets are dirty not the safest place but it’s not far from metro and the touristic places
The rooms are very basic, the air conditioner wasn't very effective. Breakfast was very bland. Very noisy at night, we went and bought earplugs after the first night! Advertised as having a roof top bar, but this wasn't available for our stay. Balcony only fits one person on it. Only 3 coat hangers between 2 of us for 2 days! Thank goodness for The Bread Factory on the next corner, and for another hotel up the road, which allowed us to enjoy their roof top bar!!!
Front desk staff was not friendly and kind of rude
Fine for an overnight stay pending onward travel.
A good 3-star hotel at a reasonable price
Nice stay, electrical outlets does not give the necesary voltage for different electronis a d i would like to have a different breakfast at lest twice o three times a week
Great location very close to Metro and hop on/of bus. Reasonable and good breakfast included.
Great location, everything in walking distance.
Staff
Staff very helpful and friendly.
Nice stuff, good location 👍
Liked the breakfast option and the rooms were cozy and clean. Disliked the location not very convenient to walk or take the metro to Monstraki or Syntagma square.
Run down hotel rooms r horrible bed are hard AF employees r rude and unprofessional AC barely works the bathroom door knob was broken just DO NOT STAY HERE
Old amenities, unfriendly staff, lacks good customer service.
It was nice and convenient. The area is quite loud but very close to a metro station and very practical. Also if you do a site seeing bus tour there is a stop right by the same metro station. Overall it was a good experience
It is in close proximity to Metaxourgio Metro Station. It is in a vey convenient location. But, this place is very noisy in the night time.
The hotel was in a very convenient spot in the city close to subway and bus, lots of restaurants around. Didn’t seem to be the safest area in town. The hotel itself was very clean, great breakfast buffet offered. The friendliness of staff was a 50/50, the only thing that really needs improvement are the beds, so hard it’s like sleeping on the floor.
Enjoy
The hotel is conveniently located a short distance from the Metaxourgeio metro station. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. The breakfast hour is an enjoyable experience. Management is friendly and attentive. The cable service includes the BBC and the internet in the lobby is a welcome amenity. I have stayed here numerous times and I am happy to recommend this hotel.
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They provided us with the information and directions that we needed each day. Housekeeping staff was great and the breakfast buffet attendant did a great job.
Excellent, clean and comfort
Long weekend in Athen for five nights.
One really good budget hotel with helpful staff. Breakfast maybe could change options a little exactly same every morning. Good soundproofing towards street with doubles windows. But no soundproof inside so you can hear neighbors and people outside corridor to much, was the only downside of our stay. Also two chairs on balcony could be nice.... But happy anyway to return on ours next trip to Athen.
The location is great. The room is comfortable and large. The cleanliness is superb. The internet connection was weak in our room, so I used the internet in lobby for working.
Perfect location
Perfect location if you use public transport... nice staff.. clean place
Perfect in city Area
Every thing is Good Matro station just 2 min max tourist point & Hip hope Bus stop there. & one more thing for Halal Resturant only near this hotel & Area just in 3 min walk . OvelAll Good
The hotel is conveniently located close to the metro station. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. The cable service includes the BBC and the DW English language news channel. The breakfast hour is a most enjoyable experience. Management is friendly and attentive. I have stayed here several times and I am happy to recommend this hotel.
awesome
super friendly and helpful staff
Very good
Staff very friendly and helpful and the hotel is comfortable
It was to bad
well located for easy access to the downtown. Parking exactly outside the hotel, this is not easy in Athens.
This is by far the best place I have ever been at. First of all, the hotel is located at in the center of island and no matter where you decide to go, you can reach the destination in 20 minutes. I recommend getting ATV for driving around, it is a wonderful joy to ride it around island. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful from the very first day we arrived. They allowed us to check in early and our suitcases were kept at the reception few hours after check out (before our flight) while we were visiting around. Breakfast was good, toast sandwiches were my favorite. Also, there are many greek traditional restaurants around. I rate this place 10/10
Worth the price!
Great service, breakfast was good, room worked out fine.
Rating
Great service and friendly staff but the rooms are a bit small.
Was a decent motel for the price quite and clean, tv needs to be upgraded to some english channels and bigger tvs, overall good motel a little dated
Good location but place needs to be updated a little run down but still clean... staff was nice...first night the receptionist was not the greatest but was ok in the end.
Short Trip to Athens
Friendly, helpful staff. Great customer service and affordable.
The property is in walking distance to the city centre,
Very good location, easy access to public transportation, coffee shops
I give a rate of 8.
It's a good hotel and good location. It's near to the train station and accessible to shops nearby. We had an amazing stay in the hotel. Staff were kind.
A fierce lady overseeing the Breakfast! Only Costa and the ladies at the Terrace were nice and helpful.
Excellent view from roof terrace and bar. Friendly staff good breakfast. Room needed upgrade but was clean and comfy bed.
I loved the view from the rooftop of the city. The beds were also super comfy but, extremely loud while trying to just roll over.
The hotel is conveniently located near the Metaxourgeio metro station, one stop from Omonoia Square. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. The BBC English-language news service is a welcome component of the cable service. Management is friendly and attentive. The breakfasts are above average. I have stayed at this hotel several times and am happy to recommend it.
Prime location ! Reasonable price friendly staff and good service
The property seemed under staffed especially in the restaurant. Rooms are tiny and some not well aerated. It seems okay for backpackers but not for business people
The stunning view of Acropolis at night from the rooftop bar was amazing. The staff was very helpful but the physical condition of the hotel was far away from perfect.
It was close to the train to take you around the city!👍😊
Good budget hotel
Price was fab. It was clean. Metro round the corner. Seedy area with drugs and brothels southwards, yet not to any extreme and walking there in the evening felt ok. Beds are horribly squeaky and creaky, maybe tighten screws would do the trick. Superfirm mattesses. Breakfast was simple yet we ate only once as I have concerns over the lack of cooling for dairy and juices. Overall impressed. No bedbugs either. I checked extensively. Will try somewhere else next time now that I know which areas I am to spend most time in. Not for families with small children, I'd say.
The closeness of the property to the Metaxourgio Metro Station. This is only a three minutes walking distance.
The rooftop bar was beautiful and lovely. We were able to ask questions of the people at the desk regularly, as needed, and it was a smooth check in and out.
Great location round the corner from a Metro station with direct access to main sites. free parking immediately outside reception who can see vehicles from front desk. exceptionally helpful Siberian check in clerk who gave me incredibly helpful info on visiting historic sites, told me about the roof top bar with direct view of acropolis and fair prices. Nice big room with efficient AC and comfy bed. not noisy despite a lot of youngsters in residence whilst I was there. Comprehensive breakfast topped up as items used. lovely old fashioned elevator which still works well. Thoroughly recommended
The hotel is well maintained and all the staff I dealt with were pleasant and helpful. There is a roof terrace with views of the Acropolis and it is a short walk to the nearest metro station.
Perfectly acceptable for the price you pay
As a budget conscious solo traveller I chose this hotel for its price and location. The room was a good size. The staff (including houskeeping) were very friendly and helpful. I was very pleased with my overall stay - for the price I paid it was absolutely fine. You are a stones throw from a metro station too.
We enjoyed everything about this hotel, the views of the Acropolis were unbelievable from the rooftop bar.
I loved the accessability to the major landmarks in the city. The lovely bread factory close by,metro station and hop on buses just outside the hotel.
Great hotel
Lovely little hotel. Excellent value. Lovely little bars and restaurants nearby. Would definitely recommend
The Hotel could use an update. The staff was great. The room would get really smelly when left alone for the day.
The location was quite good, the walk to the Acropolis and other sites was not bad at all. Even the National Archaeological Museum was not too far away. Breakfast was also quite good. Unfortunately, the room was let down by the double bed being 2 singles pushed together, lack of plug sockets, only 1 bedside cabinet, phone wires hanging out in bathroom and bedroom and cupboard doors badly fitted. The place was just scruffy. The staff were friendly and helpful though.
Good hotel.I recomand.
The rooms are clean, nice friendly staff and a well appointed breakfast.
Needs basic maintenance done to it
My room had a bunch of issues. There is an inside and outside balcony door. Both locks didn’t work. I was told the outside lock wouldn’t be fixed and someone would look at the inside lock the next day. No one came. Having the outs wide door lock fixed would have meant the noise from traffic would almost disappear. The entry door and cupboard doors squeak badly. The shower hose didn’t fit the attachment stuck to the wall. These are basic maintenance issues that housekeeping should report to have fixed the same day. You get what you pay for here it seems.
Awesome Apollo in Athens!
Effie is such a darling! Sooo accommodating and helpful! The location is also convinient, the 24 hour Bread Factory near Apollo serves good food too.
Great front desk, rooms are what you would expect for price. Loud noises woke us up several times during the night. Sound travels a lot in this hotel, bring east plugs.
Stayed here for two nights only and took advantage of the awesome breakfast (continental) however, surprised by the options. Wifi was good and the room was clean. The staff were friendly and nice and held my luggage for me when it arrived ahead of me due to my airline losing it.
Rooms' doors are not sound proof. On the other hand; staff is wonderful, polite and provide a lot information.
OK Hotel near Metro Station. Awesome view of Parthenon from roof balcony. Beds were hard. Noisy , you can hear doors slams from other rooms.
close to city centre. nice hotel. roof top restaurant's view is beautiful.
Nice hotel near Metro and Acropolis. Very nice continental breakfast.
I have stayed at this hotel at least seven times during the past nine years. The hotel receptionist ( Efi ) has been very helpful to the people staying at this hotel. This hotel is very convenient as it is only 2 minutes away from the Metro Station and 15 minutes away from Omonia Square.
Noisy
Great location, central to rail movement.
Great location, easy for rail travel to and away. Not the main centre but busy enough, and most places walkable, inc Acropolis and other places. Get wised up on the Metro, its cheap and does not get held up in the traffic. The hop on/off bus is right there, maybe just 1 day then use Metro, you;ll get to the places quicker. Overall a great place and good value for money. Was
Clean and cheap
Not luxury but a easy clean and affordable place to rest
Well located and very helpful staff. Valued stay and I will recommend to my friends
Apollo Hotel | Hotel in Athens | Travala.com
Very slow operation of lift and depend on luggage would only fit 2 people, other than that everything was okay
