Very convenient location for restaurants and shopping. Despite reception closed at 2pm everyday, the WhatsApp response is very prompt and helpful.
Sylvie gave us excellent service, even upgraded us to a larger room. Great location for visiting Biarritz.
Lovely family run hotel
Alcyon is a lovely, boutique family run hotel. We had a nice stay in a balcony room overlooking the street. Staff were really helpful and the breakfast is great - served in a beautiful room. Location is great - easy walking distance to the beach and lots of bars/restaurants. Highly recommended!
Hotel Alcyon
Very comfortable small hotel in central Biarritz. Very friendly and welcoming. We stayed a week and were given a room with a balcony on the top floor. Sometimes a little noisy at night, but there is double glazing, shutters and air conditioner so really not a problem.
This is situated on an apex of 3 streets in central Biarritz & is both very quiet & accessible for the beach, shops & several bus lines (the stop is Foch). There are several restaurants on Rue de Verdun. Breakfasts at the Alcyon are very good with eggs to be boiled to choice, juices & unlimited Nespresso coffee. The staff are friendly, informed, & helpful. Rooms with a balcony view are spacious, south-facing, & recommended. We cannot recommend this Hotel too highly.
Not all rooms are the same.
Room was very dark, en-suite very shabby, restrictive, measured approx 3.5 x 6. Asked for a change, got none. Room next door was spacious and nicely decorated. Hotel in a good location.a better room would have made a massive difference to this hotel's review and to our holidays.
Position very central; near to the beach, lovely quiet hotel, Would definitely stay there again.
Room very small, tired old decor. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Good location to restaurants and beach.
Nice room. Pleasant small hotel. Only con: no parking if you travel by car. Paid parking not far, but expensive.
A very nice hotel centrally located for shopping and beaches.
Excellent hotel good value for money. We were made to feel welcome from arriving to leaving and would definitely stay here sgain
Excellent location, very clean with friendly staff
This hotel is five minutes from the Grande Plage, a fabulous beach but not really for families as the surf is very strong! There is free parking at the bus station, about a five minute walk. The hotel is very clean and nicely kept, and the staff were very friendly. There is a lift in the hotel, but if you have limited mobility there are a number of stairs to access the lobby initially. The rooms were very quiet and relaxing, and the town with it's restaurants is just a few minutes walk away.
Wonderful hotel, amazing staff.
Very comfortable, quiet accommodation. The staff are very friendly. I would definitely recommend.
Excellent value
Everyone was very helpful and the breakfast was wonderful! We enjoyed it very much.
Great hotel stay and wonderful staff
Great hotel and wonderful staff they were so nice and helpful during our stay and went above and beyond to make our stay great. Every little detail was attended to - we even had little animal towel figures on the bed every day :-) Desk staff were great and helped to make travel plans for day trips and always with a smile - highly recommend this hotel to others. Wonderful time. Ian.
Alcyon tres bon!
Have stayed in Alcyon four times now- always excellent service and the rooms are comfortable, quiet and excellent. It's in a quiet part of town but so close to the beahc, the bars and restaurants. The staff are very attentive without being overbearing and even if your French isn't great, their English and Spanish are fine. In short- Great hotel, attarctiave inside and out, efficient staff and a wondeful place to stay in a fantastic area.
Great location, good rate
Excellent Value
Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, good location
Excellent little hotel in perfect location
My husband and I stayed 1 night at the Hotel and would definitely recommend it to others. It was easy to find, only took ten mins driving from the airport, with easy street parking surrounding the hotel. The lady running the place was super lovely, and tried her best to understand our English. There are there levels of rooms, we were on the top floor. There is a handy lift for getting up if the stairs are too much. There are around four rooms per level. We opted for breakfast in the morning, which cost around 13 euro I think each, and was really nice and easy. The hotel is only a short two min walk to the centre of town or the main beach. I would highly recommend this hotel if you needed one to four nights in the town. The rooms were a decent size with its own bathroom. Both were really clean. Perfect for a couple or single traveller.
Great location, very comfortable beds, dark rooms
great hotel
Helpful, friendly, charming.. excellent hotel
Good location
Chipped toilet seat poor quality towels let it down.
Great location
Good hotel in a great location. Good value.
Fine hotel in the town centre and near to the beac
We received a very warm welcome and the staff were very helpful throughout our stay. The room was impeccably clean and contained a number of comforts like an iron and fridge. The breakfasts were good with lots of choice. Apart from the unpredictable wifi connection we had an excellent stay. We would highly recommend this hotel.
Alcyon hotel - a gem of a hotel!
I stayed less than 24 hours in Biarritz, but was very glad to have had the chance to stay at the Alcyon Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The style of the hotel was very chic and tasteful.
My favorite hotel in all my travels.
Two sisters seem to run the place and they do so with pride. Fully rebuilt six years ago, it is modern, ideally suited and everything they do here they seem to do with love. Highly recommend.
Fantastic hotel - great location and great value.
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable. The rates are reasonable and the location is perfect.
Very hard beds and not 4 stars
We thought the hotel was nice but fairly basic. It's like a very nice B & B but falls a long way short of a 4 star hotel. The beds were very hard, the towels in the bathroom were very small and the shower was fairly weak. This is first time we've booked through the net having researched reviews, ratings etc and been disappointed.
HOW DOES THIS GET FOUR STARS?
This is a perfectly ordinary three-star hotel, with the inconveniences associated with that ranking, i.e.; difficult access for drop off; off-site parking is almost impossible; a set of stairs to climb with your luggage; inattentive service; and, awkward room design.
Very charming and great location and service
We really liked this hotel. The room was very charming and had lovely French windows and some lovely touches to make the room comfortable.very close to the restaurants, sea and main town. The staff were very helpful. The parking was on the street which was okay unless you preferred secure parking. We hope to return to this hotel se really liked it.
Excellent family run Boutique Hotel near Beach
Alcyon is a small boutique hotel 5 minutes walk from the beach. The owners provide personal service of a high standard. Like many boutique hotels, facilities are limited, with no restaurant or bar, and an unmanned reception from 8.00pm. An excellent breakfast is available at moderate cost. Some of the rooms are quite small. For those who prefer a small hotel with good personal service, rather than a large impersonal one, Alcyon is a good choice.
Very convenient to town centre and bus stop.
Eric and Christina made us very welcome. They were extremely helpful in advising us of restaurants in the area. Room was perfect, clean and spacious. Breakfast was very good. The rate for the two nights we stayed was very good taking into account that it was Biarritz which is a very upmarket and expensive resort. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends.
Ok for short time
My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights, which was enough. Rooms are small and it's expensive for what you get. Continental breakfast was offered at a pricey 11 euros each per day. If you stay for less than 100 euros per night, it would be worth it. Very short walk to beach and all attractions.
A well kept and managed hotel.
There are many positive reviews about this hotel; this is why we chose to stay there, the reviews are largely accurate, it is a well kept and managed hotel with pleasing and original decoration. My only negative remark is that our classic double room with shower was a little smaller than we expected.
Two nights in Biarritz
The Alcyon is in a great location, just a few minutes walk to the beach, casino, and most of the "must see" sights. Biarritz was relatively expensive (we preceded our two nights there with two in Bilbao, where everything seemed about 50% of Biarritz prices), but with a bit of looking around it is possible to find some good "plat de jour" deals - particularly recommned the "Pim'pi", just around the corner from the hotel. The museaum of the sea was terrific, as was the history museum housed in the old church. Definitely worth a stopover if in the general Basque region.
Good option for Biarritz
We stopped off at the Alcyon for one night on a recent road trip and were very happy with the accommodation. The hotel is tucked away in a side street near the Gare du Midi (parking is avialable here for €9 per night) and only a short walk to the old town and the sea front. The owners were very pleasant and helpful and more than happy to suggest restaurants and provide directions The room was well appointed and for once had tea and coffee making facilities ( a rarity these days it seems) Would definately go back again
Excellent location and value
I think this must be a fairly new hotel - when I booked it there were no reviews, but their website looked fine. Everything about it was good for the price, except that the breakfast was at the top end at 10 euros, and we breakfasted out. Very nice staff, very attractive, clean and comfortable, an easy walk from the sea front and restaurants. Parking is a slight fiddle - if you drive past the hotel, turn left and then right (it's not far) you see a large public car park, which I think cost us about 30 euros for 2 nights.
Great Stay!
Hotel Alcyon in Biarritz was great! You can take the #9 bus from the train station to the hotel, only a couple blocks from the central bus station. It is well located, just a few blocks from the town center and the beach, yet quiet. The room was well appointed, we had a corner room with balcony-windows on three sides and a beautiful big bathroom. Breakfast was delicious with many choices. The owners were very attentive and charming. We highly recommend this hotel!

This lovely hotel in a charming building exceeded our expectations. Lots of charm and well appointed. Sylvie, the manager was welcoming and helpful in finding parking and offering recommendations around town. Great location near the market, beaches, and top tier shopping - while being set back a few streets so very quiet as well. Will stay here again!
