Nice Apart Hotel in the Offseason
Reasonably priced apart hotel on the oceanfront. Easy access to the beach. Parking is included. Great for large families or groups thanks to a 2-bedroom layout. Slightly dated rooms and amenities. A trail of ants in the room. Check-in instructions could be clearer.
The people who attended to my every need were all fantastic.Just an amazing experience.
Good value
This is our 5th time coming here and we booked a sea view room, the room was great in terms of size and location. Despite being difficult for anyone to climb into our terrace, we felt very uneasy that all the windows/door would not lock. The showerhead was not in proper working condition and we also did not like that there wasn't a sign we could put on the door to skip housekeeping. We were also not made aware of housekeeping schedule, so it was a surprise to us to find out housekeeping came in without us giving the ok. Overall, we enjoyed Alfagar, it's a great location and it's a great value. Some rooms do need some updating/upkeeping.
Some staff were less helpful than they could have perhaps been, whilst some were quite receptive & helpful, some communication issues perhaps?
Nice place for families
Loved it here , perfect for families . Everywhere access able Restaurants on site and within waking distance . Taxis very easy to get any where . Vill apartments was great for a larger party
The staff were rude and not helpful! The rooms smell musty and need upgrades! I would never return!! Front desk had a major attitude problem!
Well located for shops, transport and walk to the beach.
Adult Ffmily trip away
Really enjoyed this accommodation, great location, near the beach. With nice restaurants and good entertainment!
We all love to be at this resort close by supermarket private beach ❤️ pools my apartment was with kitchen and big spaces I can recommend this resort to any family
The resort was beautiful with lots of lovely gardens and a number of different outdoor pools to choose from. The mini market was super convenient and had everything we needed for breakfast and lunch. We ate in the pool bar a few nights which was great for the kids with a park and a football pitch plus live music. Easy walk to the beach which was stunning. We got Ubers into the old town and to the marina for a boat trip and explore. Loved our stay, would highly recommend.
Wonderful resort!
We booked this stay last minute as we had a busy sightseeing agenda, and felt we all need a couple days of relation. So happy we found this property. The kids had a wonderful time exploring all the pools and the resort. It was huge! Only complaint was that maids entered our room before we checked out and removed all of our items. It was very stressful. The manager assured me that shouldn’t have happened. Still was missing items that were never returned. Waiting for a resolution.
Family holiday 2024
Resort was fabulous and great for a family break. Plenty to do for the kids and plenty of sun beds. The restaurants were very disappointing and the service was very slow and we spent alot of time sitting and waiting to be served. Other than that great for the family.
Tennis fees
Personne ne nous a avisé que l'ont devait payer 10 euros pour jouer au tennis. Sur un terrain pas entretenu et en mauvais état. Nous jouons au tennis dans tout nos voyages et jamais nous n'avons payer pour ça.
Lovely family resort village. Loads of pools, close to beautiful beach and sea. Excellent breakfast and and evening buffet options.
Great stay!
We had a 4 day trip here as a family of 6....4 children ranging from 15 to 5. The apartment was spacious, had everything we needed, was clean, comfortable and easily accessible with car and by foot. The beach was a couple of minutes walk (lovely sandy beach) plenty of pools, bars and places to get food. We were out of season so the xomplex was very quite...we really enjoyed our stay and will return
Lovely stay
Really lovely resort, access to the beach, lots of pools, restaurants and a few bars! we stayed off season so not everything was openbut in summer it will be really lovely!
Family holiday
Beautiful apartment with such amazing views, well equipped and lots of space. We loved it.
Wonderful views
A welcome break l
Lovely welcome, clean apartment, well equipped kitchen, near great beach and pools. Quiet enough as we went 19 Dec.
Beautiful gardens, excellent apartment
The apartment was clean and in good condition with a very well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable but the mattress on the sofa bed was uncomfortable. I couldn't see any wifi although I have been told that there's one. We only stayed for one night so I didn't complain. There was another problem. We couldn't lock the sliding door to the balcony .
great location - beach was beautiful
The hotel was run down. Both balcony doors were broken and didn’t lock. Maintenance came quickly and tried to fix the doors but the very next day I checked again and they didn’t lock. Safety is a major concern especially for someone traveling solo. The apartment had a really bad odor and I tried to mask it with air freshener but after a while you just get used to it I guess. The only benefit was that the property was steps away from the beach. Great location.
the property has its own beach, clean and very beutiful
Fantastic location, excellent facilities and professional staff.
Great family stay at Alfagar! Pool options are wonderful - from quiet to thr kids waterpark. Beach access is easy (lots of stairs but that's the Algarve!), property is well maintained. Our block of rooms was dated but clean and functional... Full kitchen with everything you need. Mini market on site with reasonable prices and proper grocery nearby. Fee parking on site. Restaurants have lots of options, delicious and reasonable price. Will be back!
Relaxation in beautiful surroundings
The suites were clean and well equipped. The grounds were beautiful and the restaurants had good food and were well priced. Huge pools. Short walk to sandy beach.
Internet connection was sporadic at best of times.
Beautiful but loud near restaurant/bar
The property is beautiful and plentiful. We were situated near an on property bar/restaurant which played live music until 2300-2330 followed by loud drunken guests. It made sleeping impossible and had we stayed longer would have definitely requested a room change. Other than that the property is beautiful.
Lovely views!
Beautiful tropical grounds with a spectacular ocean view and gorgeous beach!
great location
It a large propery with walkways, lovely vegatation and a lovely beach. I had a unit overlooking the ocean so made it extra special.
The promotional photos are very deceptive. This is definitely not a beach resort, it would be easier to go the moon than reach the beach down treacherous steps on the side of the cliffs.
The staff in the reception is rude, talk to you belittling. we are arrived late ask for the opinion of a restaurant they couldn't help even thou they restaurant was closed. when we arrived at the apartment hotel, the toilet was dirt, like it been not cleaned previously, the air con in one of the rooms didn't work I asked the reception to send someone which they did and the man couldn't solve, so we were without air con on the children's room for 2 days on heat weather of 31 degrees. however some of the staff were kind, I have to particularly mention Sonia a Brazilian girl and Virginia they both done all they could to help us at the hotel, and supplied things promptly that were missing at the hotel such as towels.
Pleasant family holiday
Our family of four spent a pleasant week at Alfagar Village in July 2022. Overall the hotel was great - friendly staff, good food, great location (10 mins in a taxi from the old town) and facilities. The hotel had multiple swimming pools, some of which had water slides, which was great for our young children. Our room was a little dated but was cleaned thoroughly three times over the week. The only downsides were that the hotel's written policies around reserving sunbeds and outside visitors were not put into practice, and we were unlucky to have our room located near the bar where they had live music, so it was quite loud until approximately midnight each night. Overall though I would definitely recommend Alfagar Village to other families.
Good property with nice pools. The only problem is the loud music that goes on very late.
This was amazing, beautiful setting and amenities to entertain for days!
Stunning scenery! Wonderfully convenient having a market store fully stocked, even fresh pastries each morning. Pools were unfortunately very cold. The trek down to the beach is quite physical and not for the elderly. Rooms are large and well equipped with a big balcony. Food at the pool bar canteen had good food also. Loved our stay!!
We got there a bit earlier than check in time and they had no problem letting us in. The unit was extremely clean. The pool was fantastic and the staff was quite friendly. We only stayed 2 nights and wished we had booked for longer.
OK stay — but hotel could do better
Hotel generally nice. Check-in/check-out is pretty long and frustrating (staff seem stressed and unhappy too.) Pool nice, and nearby beach is a nice small one. Taxis required to main town. Hotel should clean rooms (even basics like empty bins) more often.
Best holiday, great experience with Alfagar
Great overall experience with Alfagar. The resort itself is stunning with something for everyone. Numerous pools for all the family to enjoy and the location was great. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. We requested a ground floor apartment which we were given and for an extra €15 we were allowed to keep our apartment until 2pm in check out day. I have nothing bad to say. We had a great week and would definitely return.
Definitely will come back again, lovely place for family. If you have kids, this is the place. They will love it
Excellent location! Amazing ocean view and beautiful place.
relaxing holiday
great time quiet location property good good facilities
Great spot, family friendly and lovely food.
From start to finish we were made to feel welcome. We ate in the restaurant a few timeses for breakfast and once for an evening meal. Really nice food and they were very knowledgeable regarding gluten free food. The site is lovely, and although out of season the heated outdoor pool was well used by our family. The cleanliness was first class and I would recommend the garden view family rooms to anyone.
Beautiful terrace by the sea
Several apartments buildings by the sea, beautiful sunrise and sunset, direct access to the beach. Bad free wifi, there is a 3€/day premium access. No coffee, oil, salt, dish soap. Good size for 2 with a very beautiful terrace. Quiet in January, it can be crowed in summer? Close to restaurants and groceries. Convenient area to visit The Algarve coast. My apartment had a terrible humidity odor, the bedroom wall and closet were really damp.
good
Here is good for family to enjoy.
The staffs for the check-in are not freindly at all they barely look at you even if you have some questions or may need some help, this will impact your first impression immediately. Apart from that horrible checking experience, everything was great.
Amazing find!
This was a fantastic choice of accomodation for our family of 4. Totqlly unexpected! How this is only a 3 star is beyond me. The apartment was spacious and well equipped and the resort was great, with several lovely pools. The walk to the beach was beautiful and a pleasure to do. We will definitely be coming again!
An unforgettable stay at Alfagar resort
I don’t normally give reviews but this time I felt that I must. Alfagar resort has totally exceeded our expectations! The 2 bed apartment that we got was modern, spacious and clean with more than enough space for a family of 5. The view from the balcony was stunning - overlooking gorgeous gardens and the sea. We asked for a modern room with two bathrooms and a sea view and all of our requests were accommodated at no extra cost. The location of our room was also fantastic - opposite the kids’ pool and playground and a 5 minutes’ walk from the heated pool. The resort itself is gorgeous, with stunning gardens and amazing views onto the sea. There is a great short walk to the beach, which is also gorgeous. There are signs with the plant names on the scenic way to the beach, which we really enjoyed. There are at least 9 pools (!) across the resort which means that wherever you are, you’ll be close to a pool. The resort also offers airport transfers which are much cheaper than airport taxis. In addition, it offers car rentals onsite. We used that option at a very reasonable price and the chap at the car rentals was really nice. We were also able to drop the car off at the airport. The apartments get cleaned every other day, which worked well for us. Massages were also great and very reasonably priced with massages for kids, which my girls loved! We were also allowed to do a late check out on our last day and stay till 3:00 pm instead of 11:00 am (at a minimal charge of 20 Euros).
We extended our stay. They were most accommodating and the new unit is even nicer
The Alfagar is a great place to stay for all, young families, friends, couples, and the more mature. The apartments are well equipped and there is plenty of space to walk around the well kept gardens. The Alfagar has grown over the years and it is a place well worth a visit. It isn’t far to walk to the shops and lovely restaurants or you can eat in the resort restaurant and then enjoy the after dinner entertainment in the bar. There are several pools to choose from and plenty of space to lounge around or enjoy a drink on the veranda.
Great sun on our deck . Liked the gym and the entertainment
Had a wonderful time.
Exceeded our expectations, yes the pools were fairly cold, but it was late October. Lovely walk down to the beach. We had a rental car so found this a great base for exploring the Algarve.
Lovely resort
Lovely apartment and resort will be looking to go again in the summer.
The whole complex is excellent in the facilities it provides but the accommodation could do with up grading
The resort was very big and takes time to work out where everything is. Lots of amenities for kids. Steep access to beach. Breakfast was good but very busy and noisy. Apartment was ok but again noisy. If you are light sleepers like us this is not the place for you. We were glad we were only staying the one night.
It was really hard to find our room. There are few and not highly visible signs. There is no internet service included with the room fee. The hotel doesn’t advise you so until you inquire at which time if you would like to pay $1 EU per device per day, you need to go all the way to the reception to pay for it and get a passcode. Our room was underground and what was considered a cave room. It was really in a kind of cave. Not fond of it.
Foi tudo muito bom. Nada a apontar. Vamos voltar.
Location of the hotel to the beach. Range of facilities available. Friendliness of staff.
Ok hotel
Food was not great was acceptable, dinner expensive for what they were offering. WIFI is not free bad connection, hotel amenities no good and you have to pay for some of the.

Great for our daughter, very beautiful loxstion, many pools and well kept.
The view was breathtaking! we were right on the ocean, walking distance to grocery stores, town and restaurants. Plenty of activities for the kids to do, soccer, pools (indoor and outdoor) kids play area and the list goes on and on! the property has a lot of its own restaurants and even a car rental place. Its a beautiful resort!
But of a wait when checking in - about 10 to 15 minutes. Booking with Expedia stated apartment:- 2 rooms with 2 single beds in each, when I queried with reception they dont have any apartments like this. So ended up having to share a bed - not ideal for a holiday as an adult with your sister and her kids. There was a smell of damp and I found a damp patch on the wall in one of the bedrooms when I was doing my last minute check before checkout (i.e pulling out the furniture). Staff were excellent and friendly. Charges for everything - 12 euro for safe for a week, 5 euro for tennis court 1 hour. 1 euro per device per day for internet (extra for 'premier') more than 1 key required for apartment - can't remember the cost - think it was 10 euro. Complex was very clean - a large squad of staff of every day cleaning and gardening - the grounds and flowers in it were beautiful. Shame there is not a separate car park to keep cars away from the apartments and make the area safer for kids walking about.
Relaxing stay
Had the most fabulous view from the large and comfortable balcony. Well equipped, comfortable apartment in a good location. Grounds are beautifully maintained, beach is clean and full of lovely sand, mini-market well stocked and not overly expensive. Pool areas spotless (indoor and out) Gym has a good range of equipment. So relaxing and peaceful. Entertainment nightly, bar reasonable. Loved it!
Alfagar Village
Stayed here many time over the last 20 years and have watched the developments. Still a pleasure to stay at the village again after a break if 5 years .
Beautiful Envirnonment and excellent location and awesome landscape gardens
The room was clean and tidy when we checked in. It had all the amenities that were necessary. Me and my husband like to cook our own meals rather than buying a takeout. The kitchen had all the tools we needed to cook with, all clean and well presented. We enjoyed our stay here, would have been much better if it had the ocean view. The only downside i would mention would be that no one came to clean the rooms out or get rid of the towels and bins, until we called in to reception to send someone up. But overall we are very pleased with our stay. Would definitely come again but this time would go for an ocean view room.
Great place, very quiet in December, weather was ok,would recommend it during the summer for families.
The apartment was extremely clean and spacious for a family of four. Everything is on site, truly is a holiday village. Staff are so friendly, and helpful, made being on holiday with the children so easy. Selection of food in restaurant excellent, we had half board, well worth it!
Great week stay at Alfagar. It’s a good 20 mins walk to the edge of Albufeira but pleasant enough. Two restaurants nearby called portobello (pasta/pizza ££) and RM Martins (fresh fish, steak, lamb, pizza, pasta ££££). Both lovely. Stayed in room 312. Huge apartment with huge balcony, ok, the view wasn’t upto much but big balcony to chill as it got the sun all day. Lots of parking if you rent a car (recommended). Pools aplenty. Beach gorgeous 5/6 min walk away. Shop on site good fresh breads etc Had a great stay here. Highly recommend and would come back.
Spectacular views, the best hotel, recommending
It’s was the most amazing holidays, hotel rooms very spacious, clean and comfortable, we had 2 balconies with the ocean views, very beautiful hotel gardens with lots of different trees and spectacular views over the cliffs, we are definitely coming back to this amazing place again!!!!
Great stay with kids.
A great complex with plenty of options of pools for the kids. The apartments were large and the kitchen well stocked and highly usable. The on-site supermarket had everything you needed and was reasonably priced for a mini Mart. The only downside(depending on your nighttime preferences) was the nightly entertainment at the bar - this was very loud if your apartment happened to be in the vicinity, but it did finish at 11pm. I felt that it didn't need to be quite so loud to entertain those who wanted to partake. I'd stay here again.
Great place for families.
Great location to visit Alberferia, the red tourist bus leaves right outside the main door! Other public buses as well from same bus stop. Amenities great for the kids, both my kids enjoyed the kids club which was additional price. Appartment was great - maybe needed alittle updating/ fresh lick of paint, fully equipped. Had a struggle unlocking the door a few times. There was a smell in the apartment from the second day... We realised it was the sink after we did a few dishes. Once we told the reception it was very quickly sorted. Very impressed with the level of service. A few ants came to visit but the cleaners told us just to let them know and they will clean the floor with a special detergent. Great experience.
Great place, everything was just perfect. Thank you
Great family spot
Lovely village feel with plenty of swimming pools to keep everyone happy. The grounds are immaculate at this place, lovely walk to a really nice beach, great choice of pools for relaxing and also the kids pool with the slides. Food not great in the resort, we ate here only once but there is a really lovely Portuguese restaurant down the road. Friendly staff. No complaints.
Brilliant
Brilliant apartment which was cleaned regularly as were all outdoor areas and pools in the resort. Plenty of sunbeds at all the pools. Food at bar was lovely and the staff were great with the kids. Would highly recommend, I will be back
Great for kids, food could be better
Had a great week at alfagar village. Very well facilitated resort. Choice of 5 pools, 2 playgrounds and a quick trek down to a lovely clean beach. The only negatives I have are the food at times was a little uninspiring and could've been better, also the buffet area itself was quite small and people were on top of each other during busy periods. Other negative was the lack of warmth and friendliness from the staff at reception. On checkout we were not asked about our stay or given a "farewell" or "Bon voyage" by the staff checking us out. The dining staff on the other hand were wonderful, friendly, polite and helpful. Overall we had a lovely stay.
Alfagar Bliss
Amazing all around. Staff, grounds, facilities, entertainment, location, accessibility, comfort, food...
The block of flats we stayed, the stairs to access the flat could be cleaner.
Lovely hotel, great if you like to stay on resort. Pools are to cold to use at the moment and mostly all empty. Far away from town but there is a mini bus you can take.
Misleading information, rude check in staff, zero customer service.
Beautiful setting. Great accommodation and very helpful staff. Would love to return!
Fantastic view of the ocean
We had a 2 bed superior apartment block 3, room 305 with lovely views over the ocean and a large terrace, apartment was spacious, clean enough & all kitchen items for self catering even dish towel which is good. Cleaning done every 2 days, towels changed & toilet roll replenished and a quick mop round, of all the pleasant and friendly staff we encountered one of our cleaners was very grumpy. Can’t fault friendliness of all other staff.
Good
We were pleased with the hotel and facilities in it
Has Everything except Warmth in Room
Even though this resort offers just about everything, the one thing it does not offer is heating in the room. Since I stayed here during a winter month, it was freezing throughout the night; this is the only hotel I stayed in during my decades of extensive travels that I woke up multiple times because my body was freezing. This resort is also humongous catering mainly to Northern European sun & sea leisure travel tour groups, so cultural tourists like myself will find a one night stay enough of an experience. This views of the coastline at the reaort’s waters’ edge is fabulous indeed.
Exceeded my expectations!!
We've just returned from a short break at Alfagar Village. We've never been to Portugal before, been away in Feb or stayed in an Apartment complex (we usually stay in villas with another couple) so this was a totally new experience for us. It exceeded my expectations in every way. The village complex was well designed, extremely well cared for and the staff were lovely. We booked a 1 bedroom ocean view apartment and it didn't disappoint. I would say that it was cleaner and had better kitchen facilities then some villas we've stayed in! Beds were comfy and the view from balcony stunning. It was nice and quiet due to the time of year. I couldn't fault it and would happily go back!! There are 2 sets of steps down to the beach and definitely worth the effort!
Nice clean hotel with great staff.
We booked a self catering apartment with a sea view near to the access to the beach.Everywhere was clean tidy and well maintained.the gardens were lovely.there are several pools all with plenty of sunbeds and some great fascilities for kids.the food served in the resteraunt was generally very good with plenty to choose from. There isnt much within a short walking distance outside of the hotel so be aware that walking or driving is something you will have to do if you want to see anywhere else.
Great Hotel
A really nice hotel, spotlessly clean and plenty of facilities to suit everyone. The rooms were comfortable and well kept, there was enough sun beds at peak times and it was in a great location.
Great family place
Great place to stay, the water park is more for little kids but the beach is nice, there is 3 pools, super market and a couple of restaurants all right there.
As a frequent traveller our stay at the alfagar was 10/10 we were travelling with our 3 children and we had a fabulous time the staff , the amenities , pools and apartment were the best we have stayed in. I would recommend this resort to family & friends
we are just from algafar village it was lovely the apartment was spotless and had everything you need for self catering apt 108 had sun on the balcony all day ! the staff were very helpful and nice, five euro for a taxi to visit the four leaf clover bar in the new town dave and shelly were excellent hosts we will certainly be back .Antoinette +Tim dublin
Great holiday for a family with a toddler
Alfagar village is gorgeous. I would really commend the owners, managers and staff on the condition maintenance of the resort overall and particularly the gardens and landscaping. The beach is beautiful also. The shops, bars and restaurants in the surrounding area were poor to be honest, so in general we stayed in Alfagar, which suited us as we have a 2 year old. Will go again.
STUNNING ALFAGAR
BEAUTIFUL LOCATION, QUIET ,CLEAN GREAT POOLS. PEOPLE WITH WALKING DIFFICULTIES MAY STRUGGLE TO GET TO THE BEACH
After many years
It's a beautiful facility. The staff went over and above the call of duty. Paula Viegas, Roberta Ribeiro, my hats off to you. The only things that needs changing are the mattresses, very hard on the back. This has been the second time staying, and after twenty years our return was just as pleasant if not more as always in this beautiful place

I liked that it was quietand the viw was really good. It was clean, I think ir needs a little TLC. Mind that there ia no elevator in the appartments. We ate at the cafereria and food was okay, a little pricey for the quality.
