Beautiful sea views from balcony, really nice family, I had the most amazing gnocchi ever, however food is pricy which was a surprise during a check out because the owner insist to pay later and later. Prices were not listed on the menu. So if you want to avoid surprises ask for the prices. Breakfast is good but very limited options. Free parking is a great comfort. Unfortunately my room wasn’t cleaned once during 5 days stay.

Beautiful

Very clean and friendly.

We've stayed for 2 weeks overhere. Book it if you are traveling by car only (they have a lot of parking space). Their breakfast was very poor. Couple of slices of prosciutto and cheese. Some cakes. Some fruits with flies. (Although they asking every time "breakfast ok?") Cofee was too bad. 2 dinners that we had were absolutely bad. I didn't it my last dinner at all. But paid 40 euros for that. Overpriced. 3 sausage dogs were trying to steal my steak from the table. Some nights the dogs were barking. Nothing to eat. Lack of variety. No English. Room was OK. But mattress was too soft. And we slept like in the ditch. Location is good if you like to hike a lot. Pretty far from town (15 minutes by walk). And you have to climb about 70 vertical meters up. Yes it has very beautiful views from the balcony. But you gonna suffer without good food overhere. It's kinda expensive. We've paid $100 for the night. People are nice but they can't make a business.

Our stay at Agriturismo Mare e Monti was very pleasant. Silvio, the owner made us feel right at home and like family. Food was excellent and the ocean view was breathtaking. I want to personally thank Silvio for treating us very well… Silvio, we will definitely comeback…

Mare e Monti was the perfect spot for us. A small farm on the edge of a small village. Peace and quiet, no urban noise (with some amusing peacocks thrown in). A 15 minute walk to the village to pick up groceries for snacks, a pharmacy, ATM, and gelato made it all very convenient. Being 2,000 feet above the coast meant it was cooler and had stunning views.

Fantastic experience from beginning to end! The place, the food, the service, all of it was phenomenal. Mare e Monti is the embodiment of La Dulce Vita! Grazie

What was not to like about this quaint getaway at the top of a mountain overlooking the sea. Silvio and his staff were fantastic and always looking to help. The food and wine were great. If you like some R & R between big cities, and waking up to the roosters, this is the place for you!

Not the most authentic Agriturismo in Agerola

We stayed here for 2 nights. The a.c in our room didn't work, it seemed to not bother the owner too much. The food was average and way way too overpriced, there are plenty of good restaurants down in the center for half a price. The place and the view is very nice overall

Awesome views and great restaurant

Wonderful Agriturisumo, probably the best we've ever been to. Rooms are spotless clean and the owner family is very friendly and welcoming, with a lot of Italian charme. Food, we always had dinner there, was very tasty and plenty. A lot of the produces come from their own farm. Views from the estate over the Amalfi coast are amazing.

Amazing Stay

We stayed here for one week and we could have easily stayed several! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated very warmly by Silvio, Pasquale, Anna, Lucia, Rafaele and Annalisa. We felt like family as soon as we pulled in to this beautiful Agroturismo. We stayed on the upper level and had a balcony with a beautiful view of the sea and we sat out every evening and watched the boats go by as we enjoyed a little bubbles. The room was very spacious and had plenty of room for us and let in a lot of light. The property is beautiful and very well taken care of, it felt like we were coming home ever day after having been down to the beach. It was a piece of heaven our own little oasis in the mountains where there was peace and quiet along with a breeze. We looked forward to waking up to enjoy all the delicious choices on the breakfast table. There was so much to choose from and everything was fresh from the farm or locally sourced. We loved Anna's homemade cakes and you can order eggs of your choice. It was wonderful to sit out and enjoy our cappuccino and breakfast while overlooking the sea. We chose to eat here every night and we are so glad we did as every night was amazing. The fresh breads, the homemade pastas and gnocchis were to die for. The menu changes every day so you are able to try something new every day! The antipasto is also highly recommended. This was one of our favorite places we have stayed at and we look forward to returning!

Mare e Monti - Amalfi Paradise!

Amazing family business, amazing location.

Very friendly staff and owner, the farm had beautiful views

The stay was excellent. I’d say the staff were the highlight but everything was perfect. As an example: our stay started by being rescued in the rain by the owner. He had tried to call but I had a temporary Italian number. Somehow he found us and picked us up! In the rain. On a significant hill. This is right before a large group came to eat at the excellent restaurant. The rooms are clean, big and beautiful with a gorgeous view of the ocean and nice sunsets. Beautiful patios and agricultural fields and lots of different animals - but no smell to the rooms. I’m a shower snob, I like hot water and at a reasonable pressure. This had both. But the absolute best was the way we were greeted. No matter when or how, the staff were always so incredibly friendly and helpful and no need for translation. This was a *hard working* farm and I have a lot of respect for everyone there. I have never seen people work so hard. If you have any dreams of having a farm or a bnb or a restaurant or an event venue or all 4, this would be a good place to learn from. Google maps has a messed up way of getting to the farm from town - it’s easier than it looks. It’s a small town so ask when things are open before going. The farm was our base and using the Sita bus were able to visit the bigger and more touristic towns.

A really memorable stay

My wife my 7 year old son and I stayed here for 3 nights. Right from the beginning we felt welcome. Silvio and his lovely family were really kind and did everything they could to make our stay very memorable. Silvio even took our luggage upstairs to the room and upgraded our room for free! My son enjoyed visiting the farm animals. We loved the all the food and wine which were all prepared from the farm and at a very reasonable price. Silvio also offered a free sparkling red wine on our first day of arrival. We highly recommend staying there and we are already looking forward to go back.

Charming small hotel on a working farm

This was a charming small hotel on a mountain top with a beautiful view of the Amalfi Coast The rooms were very clean and well maintained with all the comforts. The owner, Mr Silvio, gave us some fantastic advice about which days we should visit the places / attractions we wanted to see and also where to park. Parking is an issue Every day he treated us to his awesome home grown peaches from his working farm (we were addicted). We all appreciated the great Italian hospitality.

We loved our stay at Agriturismo Mare e Monti. Silvio and his family go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The farm has spectacular views from every direction, and is only a short walk to the lovely village of San Lazzaro. We ate here every evening, as the food and wine are both excellent. This is a wonderful spot if you are looking for a quiet, romantic getaway. We are so glad that we stayed here!

This family run agriturismo was a pleasure to stay in. The family and staff went above and beyond in their desire to make our stay wonderful. Silvio walked us to a viewpoint upon our arrival. Amazing views of the 2000 feet below. He also walked us to a viewpoint one evening to see the lights of the villages and towns below. We ate all our dinners here and enjoyed the food immensely. The kitchen staff really was outstanding. The farm grows much of the produce they use for dinners, olive oil, eggs and wine. Our rooms both had patios and views although I am not sure that all rooms have views. We stayed for 4 nights. One day we drove to Ravello and then drove to the ocean below for a swim. You have to be prepared for challenging fully attentive driving. The next day we took the bus from the square below the agriturismo to Amalfi and then a ferry to Positano. The final day we did some urban walks around the nearby village. All 3 days were fabulous. We found the tourist info in the square very helpful and they spoke very good English. Free parking was in a parking lot just a short walk from the square. Each day we returned to Agriturismo Mare e Monti and found it to be an oasis. As Silvio said "Our farm/family is your farm/family" We feel like we truly had a feel of the Amalfi countryside and hospitality. Thank you for a beautiful stay!

Perfect experience

All over a very nice local family-run experience. Very reasonably priced with very friendly staff. Clean simple spacious rooms, with amazing views.

Awesome random find!

Booked this and got there in the same night. Great experience! Great fresh food - homemade pasta, and home grown veggies and fruits. They took good care of us, and helped us navigate.

Beautiful place, AMAZING food, and friendly staff

We only stayed at Agriturismo Mare e Monti for 3 nights, but it was one of the best parts of our 2 week vacation. The place has amazing views and they make you feel at home right away. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was always wonderful, but the dinners we had were absolutely amazing- fresh pasta, cheeses, vegetables, and roasted meats. The coconut cake was one of the best things I've ever eaten! Our room was large and very clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Unique experience

Lovely place; mountain and sea together , we had stunning views, very nice staff, they made us feel home. With all the care, sank at our disposition all the time, very generous. My daughter loved playing in the farm never got bored. Very clean rooms all good quality . We already miss this magic place. I think all ages enjoy such a place.

it is unique experience. tgough it is not close to the beach the view is wonderful the staf is very nice and helpful and would do everything to make your stay convinient. the breakfast is good and i will definitely recommend this place to people that look for something more unique than a hotel.

PASTORAL PLEASURES WITH FAB VIEW AND STAFF

We stayed five days at Mare e Monti--slept like logs, revelled in the view and the countryside atmosphere, and enjoyed the fresh and inventive home cooking every night. It makes a difference to the freshness of your boiled egg for breakfast when the signora goes out to the barn to fetch it from under the chicken!

Beautiful farm

A beautiful farm in a wonderful location, high above the Amalfi Coast in Agerola. When we arrived we were greeted warmly by the Owner and his staff. We'd spent the day hiking and arrived to a warm atmosphere, the smell of good food and a table waiting for us. The staff here go out of their way to make you feel at home and are really committed to service and ensuring you have a great stay. The Owner engages with all of his guests and took us for a quick tour of the farm, his garden and the views the next day. We spent two nights here and were able to really relax and enjoy ourselves. Amalfi is close by and the steps leading to it are very close to the farm. In addition to the amazing food we were served, we tried the fruit from the trees and left with some home-made marmalade. A great place to stay to get a local farm experience and leave the coastal roads for a little bit.

Great Hotel to experience the real Italy

We stayed 10 nights and can only praise this hotel and the Silvio's family who run it. You will be welcomed into their family home. All the food was produced on the farm or bought from a co-operative, which is all locally produced. We ate at the farm 9 out of 10 nights as the food was so good. Try the 'Plate Fantasy' - amazing. Silvio's homemade wine was light, fruity and very more-ish! Our room was plenty big enough and comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here. The walking is this area is fabulous, Silvio will supply maps and give lots of tips and information. Great all round holiday, thanks to Silvio and family.

Mountainside Views and Friendly Service

We stayed at Mare e Monte Agritourismo for 9 happy and comfortable nights. Our room was spacious and clean with regular supplies of fresh towels. This family run establishment was lacking in nothing and surpassed our expectations in terms of the warmth and helpfulness offered. Transfers to the village of San Lazzaro were enabled by Silvio and other family members in order to utilise both public and private buses to almost anywhere on the Amalfi Coast for the days I felt like giving over the crazy mountain road driving to the bus drivers. On the days I took our hire car, we were rewarded with wonderful curly road experiences like some of our Scottish Highlands single track routes...only with a world of difference in the volume of traffic doing the same here on this beautiful scenic Italian coast. Once those roads are mastered, the route up to the Lattari Mountainside farm of Mare e Monte is a breeze! The food here at the farm's restaurant was delicious and plentiful. Proper home cooked Italian food from the heart of this family, using their own fresh ingredients and produce daily, was a joy to savour. To enjoy home made gnocchi with pumpkin and almond, or chicken escalope with fresh lemon butter sauce while gazing at the sun going down over the island of Capri in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Colours, sights, sounds and tastes to carry in memory for a long time into the dark, dank winter months. This establishment and experience comes highly recommended to others from us.

Beautiful b&b, beautiful family, beautiful views.

I went as a solo traveller and was welcomed very warmly by everyone there, as if I were a member of the family. The food was lovely, always fresh. I didn't have a car and was offered a transfer down to and from the bus stop everyday. Room and bathroom both decent sizes. I would definitely come back, I had a wonderful time!

High above Amalfi

The hosting family creates a very personal atmosphere. Our room was recently renovated. The host provides all information needed to get around in the area, e.g. on how to take the bus into Amalfi. Close to the accomodation there is a spot with a spectacular overview of the coastline.

Wir hatten einen fantastischen Aufenthalt von über zwei Wochen. Die gesamte Gegend ist traumhaft schön, das Essen bei Silvio und Anna großartig und die Atmosphäre auf der Farm sehr freundlich und familiär. Man bekommt zudem ausreichend Informationen und Unterstützung zur Planung aller möglicher Aktionen rund um diesen wirklich einzigartigen Ort. Also genau die richtige Basis, um die gesamte Amalfiküste zu erkunden. Eine absolute Empfehlung.

If you want to combine the vibrant energy of the Amalfi Coast with absolute tranquility, Italian authenticity, and pampering, this family-run farm is perfect for you. Silvio, his children, siblings, dogs, chickens, and the entire family go out of their way to make your stay special. The evening menu changes daily and is top-notch. Amalfi town is 18 km away, and it takes about 50 minutes to navigate the winding mountain roads.

The drive to Amalfi from where you can go on several different boat trips to great beach areas and other cities of the Amalfi coast. The host is very helpful and care a lot about his guests have a good experience, and was always available for advice, help and a tour arround his farm to see the vegetables, fruit and animals being produced on the farm.. All the food on the menu and in the breakfast is with fresh products from the farm, and really well prepared. I highly recommend staying here for a few days if you are planning a trip to Italy!!

Amazing stay

Silvio, our host and Gaetano, our waiter every day and all the crew were excellent hosts! Friendly, always smiling, our room was super confy and the food was extraordinary! I’d recommend it to couples, families with young kids or solo travellers, too!

Der Aufenthalt im Mare e Monti war sehr gelungen. Die neuen Zimmer mit Meerblick sind geräumig die Bäder ebenfalls und sehr sauber. Der Gastgeber und sein Team sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Küche ist eher einfach jedoch sind die Fleischgerichte ein echter Genuss. Ich kann Mare e Monti nur Weiterempfehlung..

O ponto alto da estadia definitivamente foi a hospitalidade de Silvio e sua família, ele nos explicou como chegar às praias e a melhor forma de fazer todos os passeios. O restaurante que servia o jantar também foi uma grata surpresa, era tão bom e conveniente que acabamos comendo lá todas as noites. O quarto era confortável e bem espaçoso. Foi uma boa opção para quem quer visitar a costa sem estar na agitação dos outros centros, o único ponto negativo era que tínhamos que tomar um ônibus para chegar nos principais destinos.

Fantastisk hyggelig familiehotel. Ejeren og hans personale yder top service hele tiden. Super kvalitet på alle hans råvarer, som også er økologiske og friske.morgenmaden er god og om aften har man mulighed for tilkøb af aftensmaden. Den er billig i forhold til kvaliteten og første aften får man som gæst en flaske vin på husets regning. Hotelværelse blev også gratis opgraderet fra standard til comfort. Super udsigt fra hotelværelsets terrasse ud over amalfikysten.

Mysigt lanthotell

Silvio och hans medarbetare driver detta mysiga lilla lantliga hotell som ligger 700 m över havet med en härlig havsutsikt. Deras gästfrihet gör att man känner sig nästan som en i familjen och servicen är utmärkt. Frukosten består av allt från egenodlat, omeletter och nybakade pajer. Det är dyrt på Amalfikusten och mycket turister så uppe i Agerola trivdes vi bäst och vi valde också att äta kvällsmaten på verandan med utsikt. Hotellets mat gillade vi och det märktes också att andra uppskattade det då närboende med sina familjer kom dit för att äta. Kyparen Gailtone och hans kollega gör också allt för att man ska trivas. Vi åkte runt med bil och man måste vara försiktig i trafiken då alla kör som de vill. Alternativet är att ta buss som är billigt och man slipper dyra parkeringsavgifter. Nere vid havet rekommenderar vi att ta båtturer då man kan se hur vacker kusten är. Om man är ute efter en badsemester så välj något annat hotell mellan Amalfi och Vietri Sul Mare om man inte vill trängas.

Keine Bereitschaft seitens Agriturismo Mare e Monti zu erkennen, die im voraus gezahlten Übernachtungskosten zurückzuerstatten, obwohl der Betrieb wegen der Corona-Situation keine Gäste mehr annehmen darf. Mehrere Anfragen meinerseits blieben unbeantwortet bzw. wurden ausweichend, irreführend oder gar abschätzig beantwortet. Besonders beschämend für diesen Betrieb: Alle 5 weiteren Hotels auf der Reiseroute haben sich längst bei mir gemeldet, teilweise schon Rückzahlungen geleistet. Einzig dieser Betrieb stellt sich tot. In schwierigen Situationen zeigt sich der wahre Charakter.
