SCAMMERS! upon arrival we’re told they’ve got some pluming problems and can’t give us the room. We’re offered a room at another hotel near the train station which is a very bad area and opposite to where we wanted to stay. When we said we did not want to change hotels and would like a refund we were told they cannot do it until Monday due to the manager not being there and there was nothing else they could do to help. Not only did they fail to provide a service, but also wanted to send us to a cheaper hotel without even offering to charge us less. Contacted the website where we made booking and told us they would take care of things yet up until today we did not get our money back and they will not provide a refund as the hotel rejects to do it. We have called the hotel several times and still did not get a positive answer.

This is a solid budget hotel. However, it is the only place I have ever stayed that did not have a 24-hour reception desk. This made checking into the hotel fairly tricky.

I booked a bigger bed but got 2 doubles instead,alot of noise as well as not so good neigborhood, also no AC. Positive the bathroom is clear and good waterpressure

The hotel room was small, bright, clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. The only downside was my room was near a parking lot and I could hear cars and sometimes people talking loudly in the lot. Not after midnight so didn't impact sleeping.

Lovely Hotel, great location

Car parking was the best thing about staying here as it meant not having to worry about it. Overall a good atmosphere.

2 of my friends and I spent 2 nights at admiral hotel. The receptionist was very kind and let us check in relatively early (12 pm). It's true the hotel is 15 to 20 mins walk from the city center but you can easily access the U-Bahn station and get to the city center in 5-7 minutes. we were very pleased with our stay.

The staff was rude, the room was small( now we did have three people in one room but it’s seem as if the room was made for two)But on the bright side the bathroom was clean.

The room may look clean on the facade but there are MANY BED BUGS on both our bed sheet and quilt. The staff allowed us to change another room but there are still bed bugs. The towel is also horrible with a clog of hair. Definitely not recommended. Lucky that we only need to stay for one night.

Receptionist upon checking was not helpful.

Very Nice Budget Hotel

Admiral Hotel is very clean. Rooms are small, but do have a small refrigerator and television. Beds are very comfortable. The Hotel Staff are very nice and knowledgeable. Breakfast Buffet is a wide variety of bread, meats,cheeses, boiled eggs, fruit and cereals. We are very pleased with the Admiral Hotel. The location is excellent, 5-10 minutes walk to the Center of Town. 10-15 minutes walk to Sachsenhausen. Zoo is located 1 minute away. European Central Bank 5 minutes away. We recommend it for those on a budget.

Quietness, close to restaurants, within 500 meters to S Ban 8 Metro station.

Really Enjoy this Hotel. It is a Budget Hotel, however it is always clean and nice. Staff are excellent!! Breakfast is just what we need to get us started in the morning. Location works Great for us. Just 2 minutes walk from the Subway!!!

Very well allocated, 10 minutes walking to the center of the city, two squares from the Main river. Small rooms, enough to sleep and go

I booked a room in Admiral due to its location. Its just 5 mins away from the main shopping area and still in a quiet neighbourhood. Accesible by U Bahn and S Bahn and bus within a minute. The hotel room which i had booked was really small like a cabin, but good for 1 person who is out most of the time. The staff is friendly. The room was clean. Most important the area is safe as there are no junkies around.

OK for one person.

The location of this hotel was very convenient since it was walking distance to the main plaza/square in Frankfurt. However, the room was extremely tiny.Two people were too many. No room to move around, to put suitcase, or to sit down comfortably.It was advertised as having Air conditioning and it did not. This was a big dissapointment.

Our positives for this hotel include good location to transport and shopping etc and good breakfast. The negatives outweigh positives from the noisiest street ever for a side street, updating stopped with bathroom, not the most happy staff (alona was friendly though), room much too warm even with full window open. Dicey neighbourhood, unfortunately regretted booking our rooms here and the only place out of 6 hotels so far we would not return to. Please replace your bathroom fixtures and wash walls down for next guests.

Lovely area, decent hotel - watch out for cleaners

The rooms here are perfectly fine. Just an average b&b room, surprised to see a bath, nice furniture. Room comes with a mini fridge and safe. Local area is beautiful. Literally across the road from Frankfurt zoo, Pizza Hut and also an underground station which easily connects you to the rest of Frankfurt. Can get on the underground for free if you fancy risking because nobody checked out tickets at any point (and we used it frequently over 4 days) and there is no barriers. There is also a ‘penny market’ 5 minutes away which is essentially Aldi. The main downside was the cleaner, they stole some of our food. I am fully aware that it is not an important thing, and no we definitely did not just lose it, but just beware and lock passports/money away If any tourists are wondering how to get here from the airport, we struggled so I’ll try explain it. Go to terminal 1 (a shuttle bus leaves outside terminal 2) and go to the regional train station which is reasonably well signposted. Go down the escalators in the building and look for the s8/s9 line. It’s not well signposted here but the right direction will say uber Hauptbahnhof. Get off at Hauptbahnhof and head towards the underground station (behind the info desk - look for a big U and it’s down there). Get the U4 line towards enkheim, and change at Konstablerwache. Then get the U7 towards enkheim or the U6 towards ostbanhof, either will do, and then get off at zoo which is the first. Head out and the hotel is right infront of you

A very pleasant stay

Nice(big city hotel) space minimal. Entering the shower could be a problem for very large people, I've never seen a smaller shower door! But overall a nice location for exploring the Christmas Markets room very clean and comfortable.

Location was good however it was questionably clean and the front desk did not accept change for parking fees.

Great stay

Great location, close to train stations or you can walk. Rooms are small but are modern and clean with everything you need. Would gladly stay again!

Walable hotel

It's right by the zoo. Easy access to train stop, very walkable spot. The room was small but clean. Parking is 10 euro per day. Overall, I'm happy with the hotel.

The hotel is a complete mess

After calling and confirming my reservation, 2 hours before i arrived. The hotel did NOT honor my reservation and left me stranded without a room at 12:30 AM (when i arrived in Frankfurt). The gave me excuses that they could not process my debit card while expedia never send me any cancellation emails and they conveniently had no rooms when I presented my credit / debit card for spot payments. The refused to even help me find a local room in nearby hotel and did not admit that I did not have a room to stay at mid night because of their accounting error. I was left out in the cold and rain in Frankfurt and finally found a hotel at 2 AM at night who had an empty room. This is a really BAD hotel and STAFF is Horrible!

Good hotel in a quiet area.

The area is great. Rooms are very small, but designed in a very good way. Everything is comfortable and cozy. Staff is very helpful. Easy connection with all parts of the city.

Great service and very helpful staff.

The hotel is great for a one or two days trip around the city. The staff was helpful and knew English. The location is also convenient and its not in a bad neighborhood, close to the train. Overall i was very pleased with the hotel and would stay there again.

Not bad for it's star range and price

The stay here was good. Room was small and basic, but for the price range and type of accommodation, I thought it was very decent. Receptionist helped me with an extra blanket and even came up to check my heating when I said it was cold. Easy to get to from the airport via metro.

Close to work and in nice calm area, but I really missed air condition. Especially during the hottest days in the year in Germany (35°C) the room was very hot.

Bad WIFI, Staff Rude, Not Clean Enough.

When I checked in I realised there I a skylight in the slope celling above my bed. The trouble was there was no blackout blinds so i woke up every morning sun in my eyes. When I spoke to the senior reception staff the attitude was rather then problem solving it was rude. He seemed to not care about it. Also WIFI did not work. There was stains on the floor carpet so I couldn't take my shoes off. Over all a bad experience for the money spent.

Run away

This is my first review ever. I booked that hotel at the very last minute. I'm extremely disappointed especially it was not a cheap hotel to stay at. My room was dusty and smelled terribly. I found a condom under the desk that has never been cleaned up during my stay (I'm assuming it is still there). The worst and extremely old bed mattresses ever as well. So uncomfortable to sleep. The hotel stuff not friendly. They must learn how to smile. Too bad I didn't take pictures though :(

Good value for the price

Very nice small hotel

This is a small, economical hotel which is neatly designed, modern, fully adequate but quite minimalist. If you are looking for luxury you should go elsewhere. If you are looking for clean, comfortable and nice, I can recommend this hotel. Euro7 breakfast was good value presented with a smile, but of course you could go to Cate Bohne across the road.

Absolutely satisfied with my stay

I have had no high expectations and i am absolutely satisfied with what I got. Staff is friendly and competent. Room is not big but has been clean and quiet. Who needs more? It's not a 5 star hotel, and so are the prices and the accomodation. And: near by the center of the city.

My review

Nice clean hotel in a good position. Lovely shower-room and shower. Polite staff. Two points to mention. (1) I am tall and would have liked a larger duvet. I wore socks in bed to compensate (2) I would have liked more plain yoghurt at breakfast as I have lactose intolerance and do not use milk. There were a lot of flavoured yoghurts but they do not go well with muesli. I would stay there again nonetheless.

I have stayed at hotels with free internet before and was surprised when front desk wanted to charge 10 Euros because we each had a laptop but then agreed to 5 Euros per day. Hotel staff was friendly otherwise.

I was not pleased with anything

The overall location, service, cleanliness of this room was not good at all. The only upside was it was very close to public transit. But it was in a neighborhood located far from main attractions.

Serviceable hotel, but rude service

The Admiral Hotel was serviceable for a one night stay in Frankfurt, but I would not recommend it for longer. The staff we encountered when checking in was very rude and unhelpful (lots of eye rolling and little direction), and our room was not ready until 3 hours after the appointed check-in time.

Hotel in great location of street fest

We booked this hotel for one night. We were headed to the annual street fest in bergerstrasse. Which was about 7 min away so it was perfect. The surrounding location was nice. The hotel was small and there are only like 5 parking spots so get there early to park in one. The room was small, and the bed was small. My husband and I were very cramped and the covers on the bed kept coming off the mattress when we moved. The room looked like they only did a quick cleaning and that was it. It definitely wasn't the cleanest. Bathroom was very small. Overall not bad for one night, but I dont think I would go back.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel location is one minute from a U-bahn station. The hotel has been completely renovated and is modern, comfortable, and very clean.

Basic but decent value

Flight from Frankfurt to Washington was canceled and I stayed here for the night. Basic room but the price was good... clean, decent breakfast room.

Hotel stay

The serivce was the best the people were very nice and helpful. You did have to pay for. Real fast as wells,s the Internet. Most hotels there provide both free. There was little in the neighborhood to see. If I needed to stay there again I would but would not be my choice. Too,far away from the airport for me

Admiral Hotel near Zeil

I have never written a negative review. In fact, i generally do not "write" a review beyond clicking multiple choice ratings. Here, i felt the need to goout of my way to say something. This was a most depressing hotel. The entrance "lobby" is like a small shop. The corridors are small and not well lit, the door locks are not clunky, the key chain is large and uncomfortable, the entrance "hallway" into the room is small, the room, bathroom, have a bad smell. The whole room and room experience had a very cheap feeling to it. It just made me feel bad and embarrassed for myself. It felt like i had slipped back 2 or 3 decades in my personal standard of living (and i live a fairly moderate .. not sophisticated, but organized and clean lifestyle). I was so glad to leave. I felt like i just returned to the present time from an average 70s or 60s small time hotel. HOWEVER, i must say, the hotel staff were nice. They were helpful, and friendly.

Admiral Hotel - very good budget hotel

The hotel was in a great quiet location, by the entrance to the zoo. There was an underground station 50 metres from the hotel entrance. The rooms were quite small but clean and functional. For us, it represented good value for money.

Close to metro and main shopping street

Small, nice hotel close to the main shopping street the Zeil (10 minutes walk). Right next to the metro (the zoo station). Fine room with newly renovated bathroom. The bathroom was small but well arranged. Being pregnant or having af large beer belly, you might have trouble getting into the shower ;o). The breakfast was not inclused in our offer. We payed for the breakfast when we arrived, it costed 5,5 Euro each for the small buffet (bread, butter, marmelade, nutella, cheeses, cold cuts, youghurts, boiled eggs and drinks). Good value for money. The only negative thing was that the room felt a bit damp (we were there in the winter), but maybe we should have left the fan in the bathroom on, when we left the room? The neighbourhood was quite and safe. Kiosk and fastfood just around the corner. Restaurants and supermarket close by.

Good hotel close to downtown. Nice area

Good for the price paid. Breakfast better than I expected. Excellent location close to the subway and close to tram stops. Nice confortable beds. The last floor do not have elevator. Early check is a plus since we got there around 9:30 AM. The bad: Our room had a strong smell to mold comming from the shower and the car parking is very limited and it is for small cars only. Took a while to get the car in and out. It is good for getting there by car, but leave it there until it is time to go to another city. Staff is very friendly and gave advice on the local attractions. Good neighborhood with plenty of stores and restaurants around.

Admiral Hotel - Frankfurt

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 night. The hotel is right next to the zoo. Very easy to get the the U bahn or light rail, I could see it as soon as I got out of the hotel. There was two cafes and a stand to get papers or drinks for cheap. Inside the hotel room was very nice. Bathroom was also very nice. They had a maid come in every day and give us new towels and make our beds. it was very nice place and I would stay there again.

Admiral Hotel - Great Location

We made it to our hotel with great ease. It is an awesome location which is right next to a train stop. After we checked in, my husband had to go up the stairs while I took the elevator with the luggage because the elevator was really that small. The room was small but had a nice bed and bathroom. The tv was such a joke. It was the smallest tv I have ever seen! We thought breakfast was expensive so we did not get the breakfast. Overall, it was ok. I would probably only stay there again if it was the cheapest option by a lot. For those looking at this hotel because they are looking for a cheap stay, this is the place to stay.

Admiral hotel- worth it if you get a good deal!

Admiral hotel is close to the city sights, easy acessex by the many forms of transport! In a quiet neighbour too so no noise if you need to leave the window open! Room was very clean and the shower was lovely! Well worth it if you get a good rate on the hotel!

fantastic small hotel with helpful staff

I will ALWAYS choose the Admiral Hotel for convenience, price, cleanliness, efficiency and fantastic rich breakfast, unlimited coffee, skillful response to the needs of a visitor to Frankfurt. One small drawback was the non-functioning of the wireless internet in my room, compensated for by FREE use of a public computer at the reception desk, with kind help from the personable and professional staff. I'm returning to Frankfurt in a month, and will certainly choose to stay at the Admiral. My stay in the middle of July was flawless. Excellent price, booked on the internet, and consistent with the description there offered. I will recommend this hotel to friends and colleagues.

A fabulous hotel and great family location

The hotel is located across the street from the zoo, and is easily accessible from the U-Bahn. Our son became sick early one morning with vomiting, and the staff was very accommodating with rehabing our room and getting us to a doctor (the Childrens Hospital is right around the block). The breakfast is full and complete and left us satiated. One of the highlights was the placement of my son's fuzzy animal companion on our pillows when the cleaning staff made up our room. It made is day! They stock the International Engish Edition of the NY times. When we were ready to leave, our host called a taxi for us that was reputed for it's integrity (that has never been a problem for us before). Sure enough, we arrived at the airport E3,00 less expensive than our journey inbound. This is a wonderful, family friendly hotel and we will definitely stay with them again when we are able to return to Frankfurt.

very convenient location

Located close to tram and underground. Room was clean and comfortable although small. Breakfast was good. Good value for money. Will use it again.

We specified a non smoking room, however the room stank of cigarette smoke and we were given twin beds after booking a king size bed. Reception was not helpful.

One night and glad it was only one night!

This hotel was odd to say the least. The girl at the front desk admitted it was her first day. She didn't understand prepaid hotel rooms and requested we pay the full rate. She called someone to the desk to sort it all out. In the end we were given a key to the fifth floor, the elevator only goes to the fourth and with all our baggage we were exhausted when we found our room in the "lofted attic". It was definitely an add on. We had to stoop in parts of the room to avoid hitting our head. Not to mention the shower and potty were in two seperate rooms. I don't know that I would chance booking with them again. You never know what you might get! Besides, the breakfast the next morning was marginal. The cleaning lady came through the eating area with a bucket, mop and cleaning supplies to store her stuff in a closet right by the guests eating dry bread, cold cuts and eggs. At least the boiled eggs were hot!

Admiral Hotel, Frankfurt - simple and solid

If it hadn't been during a very hot spell, the rating would have been higher . . . no a/c and very little air movement in the hotel. Clean and mostly competent service from this small, well-located hotel by the zoo in Frankfurt. Breakfast buffet got boring after a couple of days but was okay.

Highly recommended hotel near the Frankfurt Zoo

A very congenial and welcoming hotel seconds from the Frankfurt Zoo and several major ubahn, tram and bus lines. Lots of reasonable neighborhood eateries within minutes. The breakfast was standard high quality. There was one playground within walking distance of the hotel for our toddler son. We stayed at this hotel for two days after our arrival by air into Frankfurt, and two days at the end of our holiday as we were preparing to return to the states. the only complaint was city noise that started around 6:00.

Admiring, maybe...

There is no parking anywhere. They wouldn't let us park in the back of the hotel for some reason. Street parking is a joke. The bed was very nice and comfortable, however the pillows were too fluffy and our heads sank in them to the bed itself. The room otherwise was very clean. Its in a nice neighborhood with plenty of pubs and such, and a nice commons area to read or people watch. The parking was the most stressfull thing about the place. I would recommend otherwise.

CONVENIENT LOCATION

The hotel does not look like the pictures in real life. Condition of the room was quite dirty and there were no blankets on the beds. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful except the breakfast "buffet" lady. Breakfast options are very limited. The hotel is located in a desirable location but the rooms are extremely small compared US standards. O.K for an overnight stay but definitely not 3 stars.

another good stay

We stayed at the Admiral for two nights. left for two nights. and returned for a final night. They stored our big pieces of luggage in our absence, and even gave us our same rooms back.

Very Pleasant!

Although most of the guests were German, the staff all spoke English, and they were very helpful. The breakfast was very nice, and I also enjoyed the complimentary International Herald Tribune. Best of all is the location - in a pleasant residential area. There is a supermarket around the corner, and plenty of pleasant cafes.(And of course the zoo!) Each evening my husband and I relaxed at the fountain in the little plaza around the corner. The hotel was a simple tram ride from the train station, and a subway ride to the airport.

Very nice hotel near the historical old town in Franfurt am Main

I found the hotel extraordinally nice considering the reasonable price. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable which was exactly what I needed for one night. I cannot comment on the brekfast as I was very tired and slept until I was too late for that. If I come back to Frankfurt I would certainly like to stay there again and I will recommend this hotel to my friends and colleges.

O hotel é simples, mas é bom para uma estadia de poucos dias. Perto do transporte público e de lugares para comer. Fica a uma caminhada de cerca de 20 min dos principais pontos da cidade. Os funcionários foram muito educados e se empenharam para resolver o problema que tivemos assim que chegamos ao hotel. A recepção não funciona 24h(o que não foi um problema, pois já havia sido informado), mas caso o hóspede não fale Inglês, pode ser difícil, pois se você chegar em um horário em que a recepção não esteja funcionando, precisará telefonar para conseguir o código de acesso. O problema que tivemos foi o seguinte: reservamos um quarto triplo, mas ao chegar no quarto, o mesmo era duplo. Falei por telefone com uma funcionária, visto que não havia ninguém na recepção na hora em que chegamos, e depois de alguma conversa outras funcionárias foram até o quarto levar uma cama dobrável. O quarto ficou muito pequeno, pois não foi feito para comportar 3 pessoas. Mais uma vez digo, as funcionárias foram ótimas, mas o que aconteceu foi um absurdo, principalmente porque vínhamos de 24h de viagem e estávamos exaustos.

Perfekt zum Übernachten

Sehr gut mit der Straßenbahn zu erreichen. Klein, aber fein. Moderner (renovierter) Zustand. Frühstücken kann man in einem Café einige Häuser weiter. Gerne wieder.

Für den Preis eine sehr gute saubere bequeme und ruhige Unterkunft!

フランクフルト動物園の近くで、落ち着いています。不審な人はいませんでした。中心街へは電車もありますが、歩いて行けます。部屋はそこそこ綺麗でした。水回りはきちんと清掃されていました。壁とドアが薄いため、朝6時くらいになると活動音が聞こえますが、夜は静かでした。フロントの方も丁寧に対応してくれました。

Wir kammen an die Dane an der Rezeption Donnerstags Morgen war sehr hilfsbereit Ihre Kollegin abends war sehr unfreundlich. Das zimmer hatte Leider kein wasserkocher oder Tee, schade. Als Lkw Fahrer würde ich es benutzen aber für eine kleine auszeit ist hier nicht angebracht

Schreckliches Erlebnis, nie wieder! Wir haben zwei Zimmer reserviert, die Empfangsdame sicherte uns vorab telefonisch zu, dass eine Buchung der Parkplätze kein Problem darstellen sollte. Vor Ort war es jedoch eine Katastrophe. Die Empfangsdame sprach nur spärlich Deutsch, wir mussten unsere VW T5-Bullys mit einem Gliedermaßstab ausmessen und der Parkplatz auf dem Hof war durch den Porsche des Inhabers bereits vergeben. Nachdem uns dann noch pöbelnde Jugendliche vom Zoo entgegenkamen hatte sich die Sache für uns erledigt. Hier wollte keiner von uns noch nächtigen...!

Besonders gefallen hat mir die zuvorkommende und herzliche Art der Mitarbeiterin am Empfang. 🤗 Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, gut ausgestattet und die Matratze genau richtig. Die Lage ist sehr zentral in der Nähe vom Zoo zum Beispiel. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!

Ruhig gelegen, öffentliche Verkehrsmittel nur wenige Meter entfernt. Zimmer war klein aber neu renoviert. Sauber. Auf Grund von Corona kein Frühstücksangebot.

En general el hotel esta bien para solo descansar, esta en buena ubicación, limpio, con lo indispensable.

Kann ich nur empfehlen

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfreich. Zimmer war sauber und hatte alles, was man braucht, inkl. kleinem Kühlschrank. Location ist super, eine Minute vom Zoo. U-Bahn Station Zoo bringt einen in wenigen Minuten zur Zeil und zum Hauptbahnhof. Ein Supermarkt und Drogeriemarkt sind weniger als 5 Minuten Fussweg und Fast Food und ein Cafe gibt es auch.

Gute Lage, sehr sauber, freundliches Personal. Mein Zimmer war ziemlich klein (hatte die billigste Kategorie gewählt), aber es hat seinen Zweck erfüllt.
