Nice but dated
Overall it was nice but the pillows and bed are just average. Very old hotel, the decor is quite dated and feels very cold, it is also very dark. We were there only one night. For the price maybe would have stayed somewhere better.
Wonderful location in the heart of the CBD. Tough access up steep flight of steps ( no one offered to help with our 2 large bags, they just watched, and not sure how you get on if you have mobility issues.) Our first room had no WiFi connection ( they said they had problems on this floor) and the AC didn’t seem to be cooling properly. So we insisted on moving. The person helping us was very sympathetic. Next room was fine, but looked directly in to an office floor opposite (and more importantly they look directly in to us!). And this was top floor. Pool was fine. Have to access up the fire stair that is all peeling and has buckets on the floor to catch leaks ( probably not fire compliant but also pretty nasty access to a pool). They provide very limited breakfast and coffee. Although coffee machine broke down on second day!! All in all wouldn’t return. But useful central location.
We'll book this hotel again, for sure
The room was spacious and clean, with some nice snacks in the room at no cost. The staff was extremely helpful with some unusual requests that did not faze them in the least. In addition to all that, the price was quite competitive with other area hotels. Highly recommended.
Pool needs work. Otherwise great
Great location and lovely staff. Hotel was redesigned over a decade ago and now seems a bit tired and outdated. But for getting around central Melbourne it is perfect.
Great stay
We arrived very late at the hotel, on our wedding night and the hotel were super accomodating and even gave us a room upgrade which was fantastic. Plus all the complimentary minibar items. The welcome drink (bubbles) was very generous as well.
Ok. Could try harder.
A little disappointed compared to past stays. The internet wasn’t working which was a problem on a business trip. The complementary coffee and pastries advertised in the elevator look excellent. The reality was the cheap freezer croissants were inedible and flowery. Usually it’s a lot better. Will go back but hope this feedbacks helps them sharpen up.
Frequent guest, checking in this time to find the lobby bar closed; no grand piano playing, no guests chatting, no atmosphere at all. No television or WIFI; tried to get it fixed and was told by staff “No, it doesn’t work on this floor “. Very disappointed
The pictures advertised Dont reflect the actual waning condition of theHotel. It’s actually getting quite rundown. You are looking at the walls of other buildings. The windows aren’t double glazed and it is very noisy in the area particularly if the Regent theatre is packing up or setting up Outside your front door. On several occasions I wandered in and just waited around for quite some time for staff to show their head of which they’re only ever seem to be one. The pictures show that there is a possibility of being a bar upstairs with the pool but this is not the case. In fact on your way up the stairs to the pool you have to squeeze around three buckets collecting water dripping from the ceiling. The pool is getting quite rusty And it is now hard to see through the bottom also due to lack of cleaning. Initially the furniture in the photos look interesting however in reality they are quite dinky and small and quite useless to be honest. Unfortunately why we were there? The Internet wasn’t working and cell phone reception/data was a bit hit and miss. I assume everyone in the hotel was trying to use it which is why it was barely there. The bar/restaurant downstairs was closed while we were there and there wasn’t much explanation for that. The complementary drinks are pretty entry-level beer and champagne. Which have to be taken on one of you breakfast tables. Beds no great. Location great! But paying too much for this room. Not a self rated 5 star.
Below Average
There were a couple of challenges with my stay: 1. There was no wifi for the 3 days I was at the hotel. There staff didn't think to mention it was out of order when I checked in. 2. The AC unit in my room made a loud noise when ever it was on. With no ability to open windows in the room, the mouse woke me several times during the night 3. The hot water in the shower was inconsistent which meant having to constantly adjust the tap up and down for the duration of the shower. Overall, the hotel is looking tired and worn. It's certainly well past it's best.
Great location and friendly helpful staff. Loved the decor and the pool area . Also thought the free mini bar and light breakfast were wonderful extras. Will come to stay again!
Great Staff & Service
Awesome hotel & service
The room was very spacious and excellent value for money. Very friendly and courteous staff. Excellent facilities and walkable to all major shopping and eating precincts
Great location Easy parking next door Very nice property with great staff
Staff were lovely, enjoyed the welcome drink and complimentary snacks and breakfast pastries. Room was modern and comfortable.
very nice rooms and perfect location. nice breakfast included and loved free nibbles replenished everyday
Wonderful hotel with great vibe. Always great value
It was convenient to where we stayed
A hotel with a distinct character: contemporary and stylishly idiosyncratic, while still being sensitive to the beautiful old building in which it is housed. Very Melbourne! Lovely service, and it is worth spending time in the rooftop pool.
Hotel is very well positioned for walking around CBD. Nice staff. Room treats and pastries extremely enjoyable. Could be noisy overnight especially during weekend.
I arrived at 11:30pm after long flight delays to find the hotel locked and dark. Couldn’t even see the name of the hotel so ended up wandering up and down the street in confusion. On the doorstep I rang to be admitted and found the phone on night switch. Was about to go to the Westin when I found the intercom button and finally got inside. Terrifying.
Perfect location
Great room and check in. Fire alarm at 1045am on Saturday was annoying but understandable.
Not only was it a fabulous and comfortable hotel, but the staff were truly wonderful, I would definitely return if in Melbourne again.
Hidden little gem in the heart of the action. Was so conveniently located for an event at the plaza ballroom. Great little place and room was spacious and quiet. Be careful of street closures with all the works happening in the area, taxi was unable to drop off in front but no real issue for us, may impact someone with mobility.
Great Friendly Service, Very Cute and Tidy Boutique Hotel and in a really good location.
Great room, really good location. Bit noisy in morning as garbage day.
The room was great, but the noise from the construction works nearby meant we didn't get a great night sleep. The website also said there would be croissants in the morning but there was only apples.
Great hotel, staff extremely friendly. Offered an early check in. Thank you!
Friendly staff and very conveniently located a block from Flinders St Station and Fed Square. Complimentary pastries and coffee for breakfast and snacks in the room. A little bit of street noise, but didn't impact sleeping and is expected in the middle of the CBD in such a good location.
Great location near lots of restaurants, laneways and cafes. Friendly and helpful staff.
The best location, the staff are always smiling and helpful,, the rooms are beautiful,
Great location, no real food room service, snacks only. Poor room lighting and noisey.
Location was great and the staff is really friendly. The only downside was that it was very noisy until about 10:30 pm and Tuesday at 4 am they collect the garbage bins which is very loud! Other than that it was a wonderful stay 🙂
NA
Modern room, mini bar included, convenient, close to shopping & restaurants
Right near restaurants
Fantastic location near exceptional restaurants. Minimal breakfast options but good coffee. Would stay again.
A very positive experience!
Comfortable bed, pastries and coffee each morning was wonderful
I absolutely loves the Adelphi-definitely going back next time I’m in Melbourne
Great hotel in a great location
This is a great little boutique hotel in a fabulous location. You can walk to so many options in terms of dining and bars. You can also walk to the NGV. I would definitely stay there again if going to Melbourne.
Location is brilliant, so convenient for everything in the Melbourne CBD, like wow, some wonderful restaurants nearby. The check in was by far the most friendly ever, the room perfect and the soft drink minibar such a nice touch. We were here for a short stay and really enjoyed it and highly recommend this hotel
Good vibe as a little different to your standard hotel
The staff at the hotel were extremely engaged and welcoming. Loved the location and the access to public transportation. Great restaurants were within easy walking distance. Although the hotel could use a bit of freshening up…we would highly recommend staying at the Adelphi on your next visit to Melbourne.
A
Fantastic
Loved the city vibe. Breakfast was just right.
Lovely in every way, we stayed here as an anniversary celebration, the crew went out of their way to make our stay fabulous. Great location, easy to get anywhere, super comfy beds, generous daily room inclusions and very friendly and helpful crew. Bravo Adelphi.
Rooftop pool was a standout to enjoy after a day walking around Staff were extremely helpful Included continental breakfast and beer or wine was also appreciated and a nice touch
The staff are very friendly and so accommodating. Beautiful rooms. Everyone was helpful and assisted us lifting our pram up the front stairs. Lovely breakfast and nice snacks in the rooms. Always a wonderful place to stay.
Hotel was really good although the views were poor. Very industrial/commercial style bathroom with lots of stainless steel and spacious. Would have been good to have a window to open to allow ventilation and regulate heat/cold. All up a very chic place and worthwhile to stay as clise to everything.
Always a great stay
Room was musty and had a stale smell to it. Lay out and staff were good, but I’ll be trying somewhere different next time.
I love the Adelphi!!
Great location, friendly staff and lots of bonus inclusions in stay
Great location, helpful staff
Service was excellent, reception staff were great and very helpful. My only complaint was that the room smelt very damp and musty. There were no windows in the room that could be opened. As a result there was some mould in the showers which had a strong smell. The beds were incredibly comfortable.
The Adelphi is perfectly positioned in the heart of Flinders lane. However, the hotel is tired. The greeting upon arrival was underwhelming. The dark moody lighting of the lift is over the top rendering the buttons illegible. Walking in to the room to see rusted windows is a big letdown too.
Nice design, cleanliness terrible
Adelphi stay
Great location, close to Regent theatre, shopping and restaurants. Friendly welcoming staff. Room appeared clean, although noticed stained carpets, mould in shower grout and the stainless steal sink appeared rusty at the pipe on floor tiles. Stainless steal sink once used looked dirty. Our floor level appeared to have an unpleasant smell. Daily snacks and drinks provided free of charge in room each day, and breakfast was sufficient.
Love the pool, staff were great
It’s a nice little boutique hotel made you feel at home straight away. The staff are amazing and always very polite with smiles on their faces. Was not to keen on the workers on the road starting early morning like 5/6am but that’s not the hotels fault.
Such an enjoyable stay. Great location and staff were wonderful.
Awesome value for money. Super comfy beds. I understand it is upgrading at the moment so bathrooms are tired but that’s not end of the world! Lots of great extras….mini bar, snacks, welcome drink. And staff were really great, friendly, helpful, and welcoming
This place is in great spot in the city but I don’t think I would stay again. The rooms and the decor feel tired and the little extras they give you don’t make up for it. The shower isn’t great and changes temperature from burning hot to freezing cold multiple times while using. Staff were lovely and helpful but again, probably wouldn’t convince me to stay again
Lovely bathroom
A wonderful, large hotel bedroom (and a lovely bathroom) with generous extra's.
Building work everywhere. Trucks and machinery at all hours of the morning. Really hard to sleep, can’t fault the hotel at all though, would be perfect when they’d done with the works surrounding it!
Fantastic hotel. Great amenities and love the little complimentary additions of the snack bar and mini fridge goodies. Rooftop pool was perfect. Service was amazing and the place smells fantastic! Will definitely stay again.
Great art hotel. The pool bar was closed for renovations which was a bit disappointing and not enough deck chairs, once the temps are finished I’m sure it will be great. We will be back.
Very happy with the stay
Nicely positioned on Flinders Lane, close to Fed Square, Rod Laver Arena, food spots like Degraves. Service was impeccable, we had a 1 year old with us and needed help getting his pram up the stairs, many staff helped. Also offered a welcome drink and nice pool facilities too. Other than not having a lift from ground floor, overall experience was great.
Great location and friendly staff
The location is perfect - close to the free trolley and lots of good eating spots. Adelphi is creatively appointed. Nice to have free espresso, water and snacks in the room. Walls are somewhat thin and shower water was apt to go cold, then hot again without notice. That said, we would stay here again.
Seventh stay. That speaks for itself!
Rooms were large and unique. Bed was super comfy. Loved the breakfast and snacks in the room. Staff were genuine and caring. Central to everything. We loved our citystaycation!
Will stay again!
A Gem
Love this tiny boutique hotel! Great location walking to attractions, restaurants and shopping. Super comfortable, lots of freebies upon arrival, friendly and helpful staff. Rooftop pool! Can’t say enough good!
Brilliant location close to restaurants, bars and places of interest. friendly staff. Nice inclusions such as mini bar snacks and non alcoholic drinks. Rooms a little tired. Great parking option next door - just ask for follow up ticket from hotel Reception desk for discounted parking ( $16).
Probably a little overpriced
Great place in Melbourne
Great location, very stylish. Staff is extremely helpful
Business in Melbourne
Great hotel in the centre of Melbourne CBD. Close to all restaurants and cafes and a short walk to all transport options and shopping. Nice and quiet and very spacious room. Reception staff were very friendly and check in and check out was very quick and easy
Great location and vibe
Had a good stay. Staff are very friendly. Property is little tired and rooms are in need of a face lift.
Booked a weekend stay in the city - fantastic position as right in the heart for all the restaurants, shopping and theatres. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Bed super comfortable and complimentary mini bar and welcome drink really well received after a long day. Hotel has cocktail bar downstairs which is discounted for guests and heavily discounted parking which is right next door to hotel. Fabulous boutique hotel. Well done Adelphi.
Great location and room. Jimmy the night manger so friendly and nice 👍
Amazing from check-in to check-out. Beautiful room and a grand piano playing while we had cocktails in the bar. Perfect for a weekend in the city without needing to use a car.
Exceptional
Wonderful hotel in great central location, within walking distance to major city attractions, cafes & restaurants. Room was spacious and well laid out and the complimentary mini bar (non-alcoholic) & snacks replenished daily is very generous. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault this hotel & would definitely stay here again.
Most disappointing thing was not giving you any information on parking. Upon arrival we could see a parking facility and went in there to see you have to pay $85 for 4 hours or more. Which wasn’t ideal. I asked at the desk about the parking and they were very helpful and give you a validation ticket. To put in with your parking ticket to only pay $16 which is a better saving. But misleading when they don’t have anything stating you still have to pay for your parking each day while using the parking lot. The finished on the room weee a bit rough and black mould was in all the silicone in the shower. I’m not usually overly picky but was let down with this one. Staff are amazing thought and still a very beautiful hotel on the reception level.
Great location free parking really nice room with free treats and friendly staff
A little tired but otherwise good. Breakfast was great. Great location.

Can’t rave enough about the wonderful staff - nothing too hard. And OMG - a coffee machine!
Great beds and location. However, we paid extra for welcome drink and mini bar. When we arrived we were told bar was closed and mini bar contained no alcohol. We were told we could be given a bottle of beer or a glass of wine to take to our room. For what we paid, I have had better value and service for a lot less money.
This was a really friendly place to stay, easy to check in and out, great bar / restaurant downstairs too. Car park right next door - very handy for an cbd place. Highly recommend and we'll stay again.
I don’t like to be charged on arrival at a $495 per night hotel (do u not trust me?) - nor on my partner’s birthday for the reception to loudly state the charges!? Hotel good but not quite as great as once was
Great stay, the staff were fabulous. The room was clean and quiet, I loved that it was small and boutique. Thanks, I’ll be back!
The Adelphi is in such a great location in the Melbourne CBD. So close to excellence restaurants, art galleries etc. Bed was comfy and room furnishing contemporary. The customer service was excellent from all staff we met, super helpful and friendly.
Fantastic Stay
First time in Melbourne and stayed here - fantastic boutique hotel in the best location, superior customer service with such a helpful, friendly staff, and a really great vibe/style. Loved the little touches like the lipstick greeting on the mirror, the "free" snacks/drinks and the nice comfy plush robe. It was too cold to use the pool but looked amazing.
We've stayed at the Adelphi a couple of times and have always enjoyed our stay. Staff are always friendly and went above and beyond to accomodate us staying the day of our wedding. Love the snacks!
The noise from the next door apartment was terrible. We couldn’t organise a late check out until the morning we left, it would have been nice to organise a late check out the night before.
The reception staff were all very nice and accommodating. The welcome drink and free mini bar were all good. Reasonable price parking just next door. We received a very quiet room at the end of the 5th floor as requested. Upstairs pool area was nice but water a bit cool now. A hot tub up there would have been better. Nice lobby bar and street outlook for a drink and to read the complimentary newspapers. Close to everything.

Great location and very central! Easy to walk everywhere and very helpful staff. Coffee in the morning was a nice treat.
