The pictures are misleading. There is no rooftop or actual view of the water. The lobby and rooms are not very clean and the breakfast buffet is very poor. If I would have to do it again, I would select another location and come here just to visit the Blue Mosque and churches.

The room they gave us in the basement which they did not inform us beforehand, there was a rooftops showed at the advert , actually it is a misrepresentation of facts, there was no rooftop to sit with.

The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. We had only a brief overnight stay, checking in late and leaving early, so I can’t speak much to the facilities. But when we checked in at 2am, they were so friendly and quick. When we checked out, we scheduled their driver services to get to the airport, and learned they only take cash that morning! The person working the front desk told us where the nearest atm was in clear directions, and was so kind about the whole thing. He also served us Turkish coffee when we came back and were waiting for the car. Just great staff! Would stay there again if I make my way back :) also, on the way to the atm, we saw many highlights we were hoping to see in the morning, so definitely recommend the location!!!

Convenient Location

The hotel is conveniently located in the Sultanahmed area so we walked to the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, etc. Good breakfast and the staff was nice.

The room we stayed 105. Large room for 4 people. Located good. I had some issues like i went toilet and lock from inside and bow wli cant opened lock. Lucky my family was presented at that time they called reception. i waited about 20 munites inside locked toilet. Engineer came and changed the lock. Over its good. Customer service good.

Not very good not very bad. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood and close to many touristic places. The shower was defected but they fixed it. The room is not as wide as it looks in the picture neither the hotel.

Acra hotel

Nice hotel and great location to tourist attraction. Staff are friendly.Price very reasonable compared to other hotel with breakfast included. Clean hotel. Negative was one of room bathroom lock wasn’t working and AC not cold enough. I booked 3 single bed for one room but it had 1 single bed and 1 big double bed. I don’t cause fussy since in our group they could share bed together.

Property is extremely convenient to sites of interest. As this is in the old city section the streets are narrow and cobbled. Restorations next door. No disturbances but currently unsightly. Our shower and sink needs service and I alerted the front desk.

Overall the hotel was very good. The room was spacious, staff were very helpful and attended to all our requests. The breakfast was open buffet, and it was nice, contained hot and cold breakfast. It was a bit hard to get around the area though as it there was limited public transportation. But overall it was good compared to the other hotels nearby.

The room was spacious, quiet, and nicely furnished; however, many things were in need of repair: bathtub drain, sink plug, hair dryer, broken electrical outlet are some examples. It seems as though this used to be a very nice hotel but is not being kept up anymore. Breakfast was good.

I love Acra Hotel!

This was our second time staying at Acra Hotel. The staff is always welcoming and has all the information we need. We booked a room with 2 beds but unfortunately something was wrong with the room so they were kind enough to put us in 2 different rooms which totally worked for us. There are multiple options for breakfast that will fill you up. House keepers are always happy and laughing with you. They always ask if we need anything to replenish in the room. Zeynet is always so sweet. Last October, I lost my voice, and I communicated with him that I was sorry but couldn't talk and that we were leaving to have dinner and needed him to save our parking space. When we came back to the hotel and went to our room, I heard a knock on the door, and it was him with some hot milk and honey. He said that's what they drink to make the throat feel better. I thought it was the sweetest thing ever! I was happy he was still there at the hotel when we came back the second time. He actually walked us to the restaurant to make sure we got there safely. At night it's so quiet and peaceful we slept so well! I have no complaints about the Acra hotel, and I can not wait to come back and see everyone! Thank you so much for everything!

Disappointed

The hotel needs a make over. Didn't feel like a hotel when we got in. The bed was very small also. We requested for an extra pillow are we were told the hotel was full so they couldn't give us. Breakfast was no where as shown in the pictures. The tea in the machine was finished and when we requested them they just gave us tea bags. Wouldn't go back to the hotel.

By far this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have reviewed Many hotels and restaurants in the past as I book hotels depending on their reviews. The reviews of this hotel did not match the hotel. This hotel in Paris or New York city would have been considered a one star hotel. One of the staff at the front desk was very nice and helpful, we booked a city view room and once we got to our room it was not the same as was shown in the picture and they said the room we are in is much nicer. Well, the room we got was a connecting room as was mentioned, however, 1) The closet doors were missing handles. 2) The bathroom showers were not functioning correctly. 3) The water was changing between very cold and very hot temperature. 4) The room was facing stairs and not city as was booked. 5) The window was right above kitchen exhaust. 6) The AC stopped working sometime at 4:00am and the room became very hot and couldn't turn it back on. 7) The bed did not have top sheets to pull over myself. 8) A part of the flooring was bulged and we kept tripping on it. 9) Bathroom was not clean and there were mold and yellow stuff around the bathtub and sink. 10) Sleep comfort on their mattress and bed was terrible. 11) light fixtures in the room were either missing or falling apart. 12) Floors were sticky and it was clearly not cleaned prior to our arrival as we could see drops of liquid and dirty shoe prints. When we got to the room, the air conditioner was not on. The room was extremely hot and not bearable. When I brought it up to the front desk, they turned it on, but it was still hot. The internet did not work throughout my stay at acra, I complained about it every day, and the manager let me work in his office because it’s the only place where the internet worked. If the internet worked, it was not stable. I am very disappointed as I had to work 8 hours and their response was, you can always work in our office. The staff was extremely friendly, but my experience was very stressful. I expect a refund.

We stayed for a night. Room was very very small that doesn’t show in picture. Elevator and other common Daria was supper dirty. They didn’t care even when I mention! Not a good experience at all.

Amazing Hotel

Convenient location every staff member was very friendly always there to help if you have question,front desk staff helped me to arrange guide & tours packages made my trip a success….

The Receptionist call Hayati or whatever take money from me to bring big car because we have many luggage then send us a small car and until we find other car which take a long time and we arrived to airport so late almost lost the flight.

I liked everything! The historic ruins in the kitchen with the explanations... the staff were friendly and welcoming ...the foid excellent... the locations couldn't be a better one! Easy to comunicate with the receptionists, drivers, waitresses. The cleaning ladies were doing a wonderful job. The tours all around the Istanbul were delighted. The tour guide Aslan , was revealing us important historic events. Very happy with the trip to Turkey !

This is an old hotel right in the heart of the old town. You can't compare it to a new modern hotel, that is not what it is. There are actual ruins of the old wall in the dining room! And it is right by the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, tram stop, etc. All the people were super friendly and helpful. This place was a wonderful start to our stay in Turkey!

Nice stay in Acra Hotel

Perfectly located, 5-7 mins away from Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. No street noise and very clean. Good service, everything was on time as agreed ( Bosphorus tour pick up, PCR test, taxi pick up). Very responsive reception, special credit to Mr. Hayati. Quiet breakfast restaurant, good breakfast. On the minus side: bathroom smell at night ( disappearing during the day), rooms pretty acoustic so if your neighbours are loud at night you will probably hear them.

Lovely hotel only a 5 minute walk from the Blue mosque. Super convenient and close to Sultanahmet station. You can walk to Aristaar bazaar or along the hight street very easily. The hotel staff were brilliant, very accomadating. The room was a good size and kept clean.

We are so very pleased with our vacation at Acra in Istanbul. This was so conveniently located to all the sites, shopping and dining. AWFUL

We had 5 nights in Istanbul and to sum it up our stay in was not at all comforting. We had a smooth check in but the rest of our experience was awful. There was a voice coming from the AC we complained but useless. WIFI service and signal were pathetic. Daily complimentary water was not provided. Less options for breakfast and they were not entertaining our requests which was quite unpleasant for us. Elevators are way too small.

It was a great stay! My mom and my 10 months girl really enjoyed the place. Staff are very friendly and professional, from the moment I checked in until I checkout. Everyone seemed to be very welcoming. The location is amazing, it’s close to everything, all touristy areas. The room was clean and has a nice side view of the beach. The property was close to all the museums,Grand Bazaar and restaurants. Everyone there went the extra mile to make our stay pleasant and always offering us the best deals for tours what I like the most was that they were not pushy at all to sell their tours

أسوأ شيء يستقبلك موظف استقبال فظ! موظف الاستقبال الذي يعمل في ساعات الصباح هو ثاني أسوأ شيء في الفندق. الفندق جيد إجمالًا لكن لا يستحق الأجرة. الإيجابيات: الغرفة مريحة وتكفي لشخصين، خدمة النظافة جيدة جدًا، الموقع جميل وهادئ. السلبيات: الحمام يحتاج لتصليحات، المكيف كان معطلًا وتم إصلاحه يوم وصولنا، لكن صوته مزعج جدًا أثناء الخمس ليالي التي أقمناها. الإفطار أقل من مقبول، ولا أنصح بالحجز مع إفطار (تكلفة إفطار ممتاز خارج الفندق ستكون أرخص بكثير). لا يوجد موقف سيارات، سيكون عليك أن تتدبر موقف سيارتك بنفسك ولن يساعدك موظفو الفندق في ذلك! موظفي الاستقبال غير لطيفين بتاتًا.

Comfortable stay near Hagia Sophia

The location is near Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque which are main attractions for first time visitors of Istanbul. The airport bus 18TL from IST airport also stops at Hagia Sophia so it is convenient for sightseeing and airport trip. The road in the area is quite small and the area is full of hotels, restaurants and tour offices. There is Arasta Bazaar nearby that has good bargain similar to Grand Bazaar without having to haggle too much. Grand Bazaar sellers have tendency to give very high first price that you have to haggle half price :-( We went there for experience and did subsequent shopping at Arista Bazaar. The hotel lobby is comfortable and has enough chair when you wait or queue for check in. The check in staff can speak English. The check in process is fast. The breakfast is good variety for the hotel class. The cleaning lady is friendly and efficient. She knocks on the door on time to clean (around 12pm) and replaces all towels and toiletries. Breakfast lady always looks grumpy and slow to replace forks and spoons and water. Nevertheless, she gives you what you need (fork or water) when you ask. Overall it is a good stay.

Excellent hotel. Really nice location. About couple of minutes away from the main city centre (Sultanahmet). The hotel staff were amazing throughout our stay. We arrived early in the morning at about 7ish. And they sorted us out the room at about 8ish. Also they offered us buffet breakfast when we arrived. The hotel room was nice and cozy and really good size. When we checked out, one of the member of staff helped us carry our luggage to the coach station. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great location, hard working hotel.

This is an interesting hotel in a great location. The customer service was great with helpful tips, laundry service, and clean rooms. You are welcomed with a cup of apple tea and they strive to make you happy and comfortable. They even ran to the restaurant a few doors down and the waiter delivered right to our room. It isn’t perfect, but it was worth the price and having all the main sites within 5 minutes was perfect.

Amazing staff, amazing hotel amazing location and amazing breakfast option. This is my go to spot for sure when visiting Istanbul.

The hotel was at a good location and the staff were nice and helpful. However only two managers spoke English and the rest of the staff didn’t. We had booked 2rooms. The rooms and toilets are very poor standard. The room lighting was extremely dull and depressing. The wall paper in my room was ripped. You can hear everything from your neighbors whether it was flushing the toilet or sneezing. The net curtains again were ripped. The towels had holes and they looked and felt over used. Apart from toilet paper no other tissue was provided. The kettle didn’t have socket near so had to plug it next to the bedside. The Iron was broken and had stains on the iron plate, in fact when the iron was plugged in the electricity tripped. The beds are bigger then the bed sheets and duvet. The lift was extremely tiny and the light kept going off. The list can go on and on . I was very disappointed in the hotel especially it being advertised as a special class. I would only recommend this hotel to someone who is looking for something on the low budget standard side. It certainly is not worth the price we paid for and certainly not for someone who suffer depression as the entire hotel had dull lighting.

Well located, well run place

We ended up staying for six nights. The hotel itself is very well located for the major sites but quiet enough to escape the regular touts you come across on other streets in Sultanahmet. The Acra staff were extremely friendly and helpful at all times while the free afternoon tea is a nice touch. We also made use of the next door terrace for some breakfasts and that was also very good. Only have one minor quibble. We had a very loud neighbour the first few nights, who woke us up with their noise several times. However, the staff did respond quickly and effectively when we complained. So we would recommend the hotel to friends which i guess is a real test of a place

Perfect location--2 blocks from Hagia Sofia, extraordinarily friendly and helpful staff, yummy breakfast. Rooms are good sized and ours had a water view. What more is there? Would highly recommend.

Great location, friendly staff and generally a nice hotel. However, their breakfast is terrible. In addition, the shower would only give me hot or cold water. Any attempt to reach the right temperature would make the water either too cold or too hot.

Good hotel close to all the sights.

The staff were particularly good, helpful in every way. Intelligent and knowledgeable. The hotel needs a little attention to cleaning and detail. For example, the chandeliers, which are a great feature, are dusty and need cleaning, bulbs need replacing. The outside of the hotel needs upgrading-the step to the road is deep and uneven. The glass/Perspex covers over the ancient walls in the breakfast room need dusting. Otherwise it's great.

Good Old Town

Had 2 rooms for 2 nights in June 2014. The rooms were spacious, staff a little stiff but accommodating, everything worked fine, beds were comfortable, hot water was very hot, neighborhood is to die for. Just a few blocks from the hustle of Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque but this small one-way street had little traffic and was quiet. Restaurants, shops, restaurants, and restaurants are everywhere from Acra's doorstep for a couple blocks in any direction. Breakfast was good; served in a room where old city walls are preserved under glass.

The hotel staff were very helpful and nice. They would offer us coffee and snacks any time we miss the breakfast period. They were also helpful in advising us where to go for visiting or shopping, made good tours reservations for us. Even arranged a fixed price transportation to the airport in early morning (3:30 AM) Two problems though. 1- the hotel address is difficult to find by all taxis. you have to indicate the nearest land mark (like blue mosque or the Arasta bazar) 2- the room we had had two major problems: the shower needed fixing and we were located under the reception area so when midnight customers checked in (some very noisy) they wake you up and you cannot get back to sleep. Over all I would insist on an upper level room and check all bathroom installation before unloading your suitcases.
