Nice and quiet hotel

The hotel is very nice and clean but very remote from the places you need to visit. There is no public transportation close by. We booked it because we had a business convention next door and it worked out for those days. Overall is a very good hotel if you want to stay in the area.

The staff was made thus hotel felt like 7 star hotel it was spotless clean Mrs. Şirin and heartbeat was top notch our room was cleaned by a gentleman Mr.Ömer he did an amazing job he even folded our clothes the room was spotless Reception team was so kind and attentive Mr. Hüseyin was very kind and helped us with a smile on his face The whole staff was sooo professional and kind The location of the hotel was very convenient and it was easy to transport to nice restaurants and shopping area We reserved the rooftop suite and view of boshphorus was so beautiful I will highly recommend this hotel if you want to feel welcome and sleep in a comfortable clean bed Again I would like to say thank you very much to the whole hotel staff 🙏

Hill is too big and not close to subway

The hotel is situated in a safe and nice neighbourhood with lots of restaurants, cafes, etc. That said, I ended up staying in one of their overflow rooms in the basement because they simply exceeded their capacity. The room had no daylight, a faulty heating system, and was next to a heavy traffic room that is used by the hotel staff. They constantly smoked and all the cigarette smell filled in my room. My complaints about the heating system and smoking did not do anything (I stayed there for a full week). I am not much of complainer usually, and I live in Canada - so if I am complaining that my room is cold, it means it is sub-15degC. I think the hotel doesn't fit well for the Marriot brand. My friends staying in much cheaper, no-name hotels nearby, had much great time. Anyways, my two-cents, there is always a chance that you'll be dumped in one of these basement rooms and deal with the same problems.

Excellent hotel.

It was a bit of an uphill walk to get to the hotel but it is in a great area - so many restaurants and things going on especially in the evening. You can walk down to the water to view the Asian side of Istanbul.Ours was a quick 1 night layover stay but we would stay here again when we return. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The bedrooms are very confortable and clean. The neighborhood is a Beautiful area not far from touristic places. So many nice coffee places around it and nice parks. Also walking distance to Dolmabahçe Palace and the fancy area of Niçantaçi. I definitely would come back and stay in this hotel

The room was spacious and clean. The shower had really good water pressure and air conditioning worked perfectly. My room was near the elevator so there was some noise but nothing bad overall. The style was very modern and the bed was big and comfortable

Hotel was pretty good, in ways of location,rooms,and service. Room A/C was not the best. Bathroom are open to the room, so there is no partition. It was annoying for when you use the bathroom as it makes a huge sound around the room if your sharing the room with somebody else. Other than that the rest was average.

Hotel lacks warmth, no character + poor staff

Lady receptionist was great to her ability as she was only going by the confused information she was given; but her colleagues let it down with false COVID-19 information, one moment it’s this then it’s that the next. That even with a negative result I would not be allowed to leave the hotel and isolation is required but unsure for how long. However prior to checking in which I delayed to 9pm at night because of this confusion with the staff as they said if I check in I could potentially pay 14 days of hotel costs in isolation, then just before checking in he said no it’s fine you can leave before the test or after. I did ask who told you this information about COVID in turkey as I said it’s possibly a provisional rollout not set in stone and for definite as I checked the Uk gov website and couldn’t find anything on Turkish ministry of health. So the woman said oh they called me but it’s not on paper. So she got the website up and said oh last update is 23/11/2020. Considering I stayed there like 21. Anyway they tested me within the hour of checking in. Which was fine. Then in the morning the staff say it’s fine to leave just let us know where you are Staying next but with lack of trust by recording down my taxi registration outside Albeit even after my COVID test they did not feel obliged to update me via the email I provided or number for WhatsApp. Pointless. Useless uneducated staff. Hotel staff were unprofessional and lack adequate training.

Nice hotel , great location, room was modern and clean but there was no kettle, no minibar and no menu for room service. However the main issue was the breakfast. We booked the room with breakfast which was around 200 TL more expensive than the room without breakfast. We were highly disappointed with the breakfast provided. Because of the pandemic there was no open buffet but the breakfast plate was very small. I think this should be notified beforehand because if we knew we never would have booked the room with breakfast.

Mediocre stay

We were put in a room which was underground,super dark.The hotel was empty and they did not change our room. Other than that,rooms were clean,the design was good. One more thing,when you are in the restroom,whoever is in the room can hear everything. There is barely a door and it is not even a full door

My stay was paid in advance. During check-in, the receptionist asked me for a deposit (for any potential extra's), to be taken from my credit card which is totally inappropriate.

Great value for money...business and pleasure

Really great place...great value for the money. Close enough to Galata, The Grand Bazar and other cool places. Walking distance from bars, coffee shops and restaurants. The breakfast buffet was really good, we enjoyed the food and the service. The rooms are super clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

Location is great, easy access to public transit and landmarks, restaurants. Need more art in the hallways. and may be bigger TV

Hotel was clean, done exactly what you needed it to do! English isn’t great and it’s at the top of a hill so if you aren’t partial to some walking I would give it a miss all in all would I stay again? Yes! It’s reasonably priced!

Nice hotel in a great location and great service

Stayed at the hotel with friends and family for the Super Cup. The hotel is situated in a nice area close to restaurants, bars and transport links. We found the staff to be friendly and would stay again.

Boutique hotel middle of a local neighborhood

My stay at the Macka AC Marriot was very good. The hotel is more like small boutique hotel with a very homey feeling. The services was really welcoming and warm as everywhere in Istanbul. The location of the hotel is great, just behind the corner one finds handful of restaurants, coffee places and bars where locals sit and drink until long in the evening. Enjoyed my and would warmly recommend.

I don't have any complaints. After trying different hotels including those which claim to be five star, I will stick with AC Hotel from now on. What I like about this hotel the most is the small details they have thought of throughout the hotel. Love it!

Worth the stay in Istanbul

Had a good experience in AC istanbul Macka. There's a supermarket across the street and lots of restaurants just a 3 minute walk down the road. Rooms were clean and nice; small but very functional. A bit of walking required for public transport. Not too many options for breakfast but quality is good. overall very satisfied with this hotel.

Noisy Air Conditioning

Air Conditioning was VERY LOUD and made impossible to have a restful night sleep!

It is a very nice hotel, the staff are friendly and they have a good english accent, they were helpful. The location is not near affordable shopping area but it is a nice area close to a street full of shops. Recommended

A gem in Istanbul

The staff at the AC Macka were amazing. Extremely accommodating and handled our business group's needs and requests without hesitation. Rooms are not large (generally) but are quite clean, well-kept and check all the boxes for a comfortable night's stay.

Stay was TERRIBLE! Hotel is DIRTY , bathrooms are DIRTY and have a horrible smell ,they dnt change linen at all times! BAD SERVICE! Although its in a convenient area WOULDNT RECOMMEND it to any one!

Good - with room for improvement!

Very friendly staff, comfortable beds. Almost no “inner” sound insulation, you can hear the lift door opening in your room on the other end of the corridor. Cleaning staff knocks on your door and immediately makes a move in around 8:30 on weekdays and 9 in the weekends?!?!! Is it really that urgent?! It’s the first time in my life i have been woken up by the cleaning staff in a hotel - and mind you, i travel too often! Towels are not replaced properly, if you decide to have ‘some’ to be replaced by clean ones and put on the floor, you end up with fewer number of towels.

Overated, poor service and hygiene, go elsewhere

Stayed here in 2016, service was good in 2016. So booked it again in 2018 thinking it would be a good experience. Booked a twin room shows clearly on booking record was told there were no rooms available.?Standards and quality of service and cleanliness have dropped enormously. Torn bathroom towels with threads hanging, tells you that standards have dropped. Will not stay here again.

I arrived after midnight. I could’t find a room to stay. I was asked to come back at 2 pm . Good that i have a glat in yalova. So I rode my car and headed to my flat. Luckily the way was not busy that it took me one hour drive.

Excellent staff and location... however

Modern, clean and comfortable. But advertised as sound proof rooms?? You can hear everything. No television movies working and cigarette smoke blew in through ventilation ducts.

The reception staff, a few of them not very approachable, seemed shy. The staff serving the breakfast, were awesome and very approachable. The view from my room was wonderful and the cleaning lady very professional and kind. The location of the hotel was exactly what I wanted. Very close to Ferries, and Besiktas center.

Excellent Hotel for everything close

Stayed here for 5 nights. Location is perfect. Many places to eat, drink, etc just a 5-10 min walk away. Room was nice. Staff were excellent and very accommodating. Aysha (not sure if i spelled her name right) was the manager and went beyond and above to help me on my last day of travel by allowing me a late checkout. I will def stay again. Highly recommend.

Had a great stay - hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood outside of the main tourist area accessible by the nearby (approx 15 min walk) tram. There are an assortment of restaurants, cafés, embassies, and other businesses in the area. Staff are friendly and helpful. Clean and well maintained facility.

Brand new hotel with excellent management.

The hotel is brand new as of 2015. It is located on a very upscale residential neigbourhood close to Beşiktaş (7 min walk to the ferry port) and Nişantaşı (8-10 min walk to one of the best shopping & dining areas in Istanbul). The nearest subway station is a 15-20 min walk. Swissotel and W Hotel are only steps away -- you may want to check out their prices to compare. I really enjoyed staying at AC Hotel Istanbul Macka.

Lovely hotel in a shopping district

Very lovely hotel with polite staff who were very helpful. Free wifi is a plus! The only downside is that there are no free drinks supplied in the room...not even bottled water but thankfully the minibar is not expensive if you do want something. Those who love to shop, the hotel is in a great location for this. A great hotel I would stay at again if I visit Istanbul...hopefully soon!

Family friendly hotel.

This was our first trip away in a hotel with our son who's 10 months. We had a large room which gave us more than enough space for our luggage, pram, baby paraphernalia and for a crawling baby to roam around in. We didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on that, though we did have breakfast at the hotel on our last day which offered a selection of bread, meat, cheeses, fruit and hot food in a buffet style which we all enjoyed. We spent most of our week there with family so didn't use public transport or explore the immediate area as much as we might have done otherwise but there seemed to be plenty of shops and places to eat nearby. The staff were all very friendly and we would definitely stay again.

Excellent service, good value for money

This hotel is almost brand new, stylish and very well run. All the staff were pleasant and responded quickly to requests. It is a bit away from the main sights in Istanbul, but I did not mind that as it was good to 'escape' from hectic areas such as Sultanhamet. One can walk or take a short taxi ride to the last station on the excellent tramline I would be pleased to return and recommend it highly.

Nice and clean hotel

I travelled for business and stayed for 2 nights. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and the staff was helpful. Breakfast also offered a good choice of continental as well as turkish specialities. The reason for my low rating on room comfort was that the air conditioning had awful smell coming out of it so I didn't use, which made my stay a little uncomfortable.

Very good hotel in a very good zone. Staff did all they can to help. Worth it to upgrade to superior room for incredible views of the bosphorous.

Nice and clean!

Vey nice and clean hotel. The staff is extremely helpful (recommendation and booking of restaurants, taxis, information about sightseeing around etc etc). The location is pretty good, between the neighbourhood of Nisantasi and Ortakoy. There is a supermarket right across the street, a good hairdresser 20meters away and also a very nice breakfast place 'Siitis', a few meters down the street. First time in Istanbul and definitely happy to have picked this hotel.

Couldn't fault it.

My partner and I recently stayed in this beautiful little hotel. The staff were welcoming an extremely helpful from the get go. The room a very generous size , very clean and comfortable. As someone who travels a lot I have to say it really is a lovely place to stay . A great location , with some great spots of the city close by, and lovely cafes and restaurants on the very same street. I would definitely visit this hotel again if returning to Istanbul . Staying here have our trip that extra bit of pleasure.

Nice hotel, great staff

Staff were great and the hotel itself was clean and well appointed. Very pleasant stay. Very helpful for us traveling with baby: provided crib for our infant and put us in larger room to accommodate it.
