Unique property.
Not so great
No body there when we arrived to check in. The he explained how hotels.com doesn’t discribe the room properly as it has a bathroom but it’s in the hallway!! He swapped us out of the room and didn’t change us extra but he really didn’t want to. The room was very rustic and had mold in the shower. They also didn’t have a commercial washer and dryer and we can only assume that the comforter on the bed doesn’t get cleaned. We for sure will not stay here again. The entire place needs upkeeping
Unusual place. Two different houses to stay in. Our room's lock didn't work, yet it was never fixed, The cleaning person never finished cleaning our room, so there was hair in the bath and only a handful of towels. The bath did not drain well at all. For $100 a night, I would rather stay at a chain hotel than the unusual decor and services we received at this location.
It was a great location and fit right into the history that Paducah is steeped in I would book here again
Comfortable with luxury type bathroom. Huge shared kitchen and dining area. Loved having coffee on large front porch with rocking chairs.
The person running the place was great and a caring person.
Very clean property run by pleasant staff . The guests are also very nice . Love the use of washer and dryer!
Best Place In Paducah!
Absolutely the best place I’ve EVER stayed in Paducah. They owner was extremely friendly, accommodating and made the entire experience amazing. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone staying in or around the area! It was a quiet, clean, comfortable & beautiful home! The kitchen was fully stocked to cook in which made the place feel more like an air bnb. & the bathroom was absolutely GORGEOUS with a huge jetted tub. It gives old farmhouse but with a modern vibe mixed in. Will be the only place I recommend to family/friends in the future.
Unique historic home and guest house. A charming, comfortable, one of a kind experience.
Poor location/ grounds need work
It’s a nice historic property with quiet & comfortable accommodations.
Our stay here was INCREDIBLE. I can't believe we managed to snag the room we did, at the price we did, on the short notice we did. The staff was kind, friendly, and super helpful. The hotel itself was gorgeous - down to the last details. And the bed? Like sleeping on a cloud. We definitely should've planned to stay longer than one night, because it was one of the best places we stayed during our entire honeymoon road trip. In the evening, we spent some time quietly sitting on the [beautiful] porch in rocking chairs, just enjoying the night and each other's company. I've never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, so I don't know what's standard, but this was SO much better than getting a hotel/motel of comparable price. I cannot recommend this place enough. We'd never been to Kentucky before this trip, but we're so glad we ended up crossing paths with this place in Paducah. Truly a gem of a place, and we will definitely be return/repeat customers!
Wow!! Enjoyed this stay so much.
Wow!! Thought this booking might be to good to be true but it wasn’t!!! Amazing place, staff was wonderful. Clean and comfortable. Lovely area, historic B&B. Will return to this site for sure!!!
Almost perfect
Only down sides are no iron and the fridge had bud lite but no water. A few water bottles is the fridge wold have been perfect.
Very neat place to stay! Loved it! Much better than a chain motel!!
Welcoming people, charming place, nice stay
The hosts were great from the initial greeting through the home-cooked breakfast. The room was a nice mix of modern amenities and old school charm. I enjoyed exploring Paducah from this base.
Staff Is An EXCELLENT Cook - Ask For The Pancakes! Also, Helped With Luggage At Check In - Great SPIRIT And Personality! This Property Deserves A 10 Out Of 10
Nice, but could be better.
The check in was easy, and it was located in a great location. The bathrooms were clean and awesome. Ours had a great jetted tub. Nice! Though the facility felt clean and fairly welcoming, it was obvious they were not ready for snow. None of the walk ways were cleared and the steps leading up the only entrance were icy and a bit scary to climb. One of the guest even said he fell. I did point this out when checking in , but the lady at the desk said it was someone else responsibility and moved on. The only other negative was the breakfast. Upon arriving, we were asked if we were interested in the $15 breakfast. When asked what that consisted of, we were told "pancakes and oatmeal." We declined. $30, for a couple plates of pancakes was a bit much. Other than the slippery walkways, it was a good price and well located. We would keep this as an option when visiting Paducah in the future.
Just amazing. Kind, caring people take care of this property. Amazing privacy & beautiful furnishing and art to make it feel like you've lived there for ages. Cozy! ZERO COMPLAINTS i was spoiled by the hydromassage in the bathtub mayB ? 8^]
Oh my, the value for this stay. I love history and older architecture (including the period- furniture) ; therefore, i was in 19- century heaven! WASHINGTON HOTEL!
The interior and furniture are very nice. Touching the history of this house remains in my memory. hot water from the tap did not flow
Very pretty place
The hotel is very pretty - it is obvious they have done a lot to make it nice and comfortable for guests. We appreciated having a full kitchen to use for our dinner.
The 1895 Washington Hotel is a wonderful historic home with a lot of charm. The host, Lindsey, was very nice and always helpful. She made it a pleasure to stay there.
A charming historic inn. It was comfortable, clean, and we'll appointed. Owners were helpful. We'd stay again.
Historic and beautiful
The owners are nice. They wasnt on site but was able to get us in without any issue. This is our 3rd stay. Everytime we come to PADUCAH we stay with them. I will highly recommend this place.
A true gem
Absolutely beautiful house. Warm and cozy room, fantastic bathroom, cozy robes!
Just what was needed...
Beautiful, well appointed room. Very nice for a quick overnight stay.
Great hospitality, clean, comfortable
A good place to stay. Enjoyed our night there.
We had a great time. I would recommend this place to everyone
Wonderful place to stay!
So clean and fancy house.
it is the best ever. We had a great time just beautiful
Ceiling fan inoperable. Ran out of toilet paper. Street parking. Extremely limited TV.
Clean clean clean!!
Once again we got to enjoy this Victorian stay. Top 3 cleanest lodging!! I just love the beautifully tiled bathrooms. Host is accommodating to our late arrival and lovely as always.
Very Lovely..
Grateful for such a clean place to stay. Bathrooms are beautifully tiled. Staff exceptionally helpful for our late arrival check in. Will stay on the way back home next week.
Absolutely lovely place
Absolutely beautiful room and home. I had been traveling for a month and this room was by far the best overall and best value. Beautifully decorated. Spotless. Comfortable bed. Huge bath tub. Great location. Well stocked, beautiful kitchen. Safe and convenient. Hostess very helpful. I didn't want to leave.
Very comfortable mattress, a welcome respite after a 7- hour drive!
The front desk was as sweet and helpful as can be! The whole place was charming and authentic, filled with history and charm. It was a pleasant surprise!!
Liked the historic nature. It was very quiet. The only thing that perhaps could be improved upon would be reconditioning the sinks in the common area in the guest house.
Excellent location. Could walk downtown. Loved it.
Beautiful home and guest house. Historic, and very comfortable. We were delighted to hear breakfast was available at the site. We paid $15 each for a home cooked breakfast. It was lovely and well presented. For that price they might like to upgrade their meal items. The hash browns were flat and thin (compact frozen patties), and the sausage, the same (like Jimmy Dean frozen patties-flat, dry, flavorless). Eggs were good, and toast was average. Juice and Coffee bar was very nice. We have a nice chat with our host, and she gave us some tips for area attractions. It was really nice to stay in a real, authentic B&B.
We wanted someplace close to the quilt museum and inexpensive - this meant our needs, Room was nice and although the bathroom was across the hall it was not an issue. Very lovely roon
Nice place to stay in paducah
Nice family running the place. The only concern I had was that it looked like the people staying there before us had placed towels down on the ice to gain traction up the stairs. It really should have been cleared off for safety. Otherwise very nice accommodations.
Charming Historic Home
Charming historic home with beautiful antique furnishings and comfortable bed. The host was very accommodating with preparing us a delicious vegan breakfast! Nice neighborhood in historic district. As expected in an old home with hardwood floors, it was a bit noisy when other guests were walking around above us and running water but nothing our sound machine couldn’t muffle. We were the last guests to shower and the hot water was depleted but other than that it was a very pleasant stay.
Nice place. Cute. Great service
Nice renovations. Only complaint would be the heat situation, it was warm in the house but cold in our room as there is no individual thermostat.
Wonderful experience
I was very impressed by the hotel very clean, and the service was impeccable. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the History I would stay again and refer friends.
Friendly staff, nice clean room, comfortable bed, good location and the history of the house is very interesting
I really enjoyed my stay and plan on returning. The mattress was fantastic. The other residents I saw were friendly. There were historical artifacts, also a plus. The caretakers were very accommodating. I can’t say enough about them.
Comfortable room and friendly owners
This B&B is in a good location. The room and bathroom were newly decorated and comfortable. The owners were friendly and helpful.
Lovely historic place in Paducah.
Wonderful B&B. I had the room with king bed and jacuzzi tub...very welcome after a long drive. Val was friendly and helpful. Walking distance to downtown. Home cooked breakfast! Highly recommend!
Valerie and Mark are great! The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, and breakfasts were delicious. We would be happy to stay here again!
The house was lovely. The staff were very cordial and the breakfast was prepared simply but was delicious. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.... Would highly recommend.
Friendly hosts, great area!
Fun to learn about the history of the place. Location was good, being close to downtown. The breakfast was delicious.
Awesome Bed and Breakfast. Our hosts were great and even gave us a great history lesson on this B&B and our first president, George Washington. We will be back.
I loved eating breakfast off the china. It was very quiet and my hosts were wonderful sharing local history. I’ll stay there again the next time I’m in Paducah.
You will love this place.
Great service and very friendly staff. Great breakfast.
First time staying in a B&B and it was a very pleasant experience.
Elegant splendor
House was esquisite and classical. Breakfast was delicious.
Paducah
Great attention from the staff - location ok - would stay there again.
A great Paducah experience!
The hotel was beautifully decorated with Victorian antiques and lovely quilts. We liked the high-end beds, which really made for a comfortable sleep. Located near the Paducah riverfront, we were able to walk to restaurants and the mural walls (about a mile walk). Our hosts were friendly and accommodating, and they also shared details about the history of the house. We would definitely recommend it to others who want a local hotel, a satisfying breakfast, and the chance to mingle with other guests.
Charming room; loved the front porches and rocking chairs; close to downtown and quilt museum. Friendly staff/owners who were happy to talk about local events and share history of the historic building we stayed in. Enjoyed meeting other guests over breakfast.
This was an amazing place to stay- wonderful hospitality, beautiful and clean room, scrumptious breakfast - lovely town!
We loved staying at this property, enjoyed hearing the history and all the work the went into updating the property. Enjoyed speaking with the owner and learning about what was going on in the community. We stayed in Room 7, it had a very comfortable bed. The thermostat for the room was set just right, considering it was 95 degrees outside. My husband loved the huge shower head with multiple spray options. Charming and memorable.
Near the old town
Very nice comfortable old house, renovated to a high degree. The bnb is made up of 2 adjoining houses, very well maintained and very comfortable with plenty of other available space for the guests to use. Breakfast was served in the main house, and ve1ry nice it was too. The house is located a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from the historic centre of Paducah, where there are bars and restaurants.
I really loved this place. I could have stayed in a chain hotel, but after plenty of travel, I really needed a place to feel at home. This place was great. The room was perfect with a comfortable bed and a beautiful marble bath room. Breakfast was cooked to order and served on real china (meaning the kind that you have to wash by hand). The hostess even played three short songs on the violin (fiddle) during breakfast that would have been heard in the days when this place was Washington property. I am so glad that I stayed here.
Beautiful but no service.
We were there for 4 nights, on the 3rd day had to ask to have the garbage can dumped and for more toilet paper. Beautiful building but no service at all in the room. Breakfast was ok, milk not cream or 1/2 and 1/2.
Very nice bed & breakfast!
Friendly host, comfortable rooms with eclectic vintage furniture, private baths, excellent breakfasts. I'd stay here again.
Beautiful B&B filled with history, brought back to life. Friendly owner filled with knowledge about the home & Paducah. Made our stay even more enjoyable. Very comfortable, large rooms. Highly recommend
Door was locked upon arrival. Note said to text or call. Sent text. No response. Was calling when spouse ran bell and someone came. Name of hotel did not match what we had on reservation information. Gentleman helping us received a cell phone call in the middle of checkin and passed us on the someone else. Seemed very disorganized. Room and bath were clean and hotel was a short drive to restaurants. Breakfast was good.
Great place!
We really enjoyed staying and will be back! Friendly hosts, comfortable room, and great breakfast!
A Welcome Surprise
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the 1895 Washington Hotel. I found it accidentally but am so thankful I did! I hope to stay there again soon.
Wonderful stay at 1895 !
I had a question and emailed through here. The owner contacted me back by phone. I checked in by phone it was great! The room #7 had a jet tub which I used after traveling 12 hours. The bed was super comfortable and we had breakfast and chatted with other guests which was nice. This place really is a diamond in the rough. It was a GREAT find. Would definitely stay here again.
Great people real nice and a cute place however, they dropped the ball on breakfast no one was there to make/serve it. Mistakes happen and I'd stay there again.
Historic houses close to downtown and the Quilt Museum.
Valerie and other staff were very welcoming. We enjoyed our stay
We chose the 1895 Washington Hotel as a quick diversion on our way home from a long road trip. Had I known what a restful and enjoyable stay we'd have, I'd have planned to stay longer. We will definitely be back, but next time as a destination not not as a stop-over
Historic house beautifully redone. Friendly staff and good breakfast.
Unique experience in charming old home with quite a history. Lovely furnishings, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast and very friendly host- Valerie. Not sure I’ll be in Paducah again but I’d stay here again!
Very quiet. Good breakfast. Television needs improvement. Put an ice bucket in the room. Bed was comfortable.
Nice boutique motel with history
A very nice place to stay with excellent service, breakfast included and unique rooms that will make you feel like you are not staying in a hotel.
Firework haven
Great place to just relax. If you want to watch the Paducah firework display you can see the big shots over downtown awesome
Appreciated the history of the home and restorations. Valerie is a true delight and breakfast was delicious. Walkig distance to downtown and awesome fireworks to celebrate the 4th!
Had a nice weekend in Paducah
Nice place, staff tried to accommodate you. Room was comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.
Beautifully decorated bed and breakfast.
Loved our stay here. The rooms were well decorated to represent the time period. Our host was amazing and the breakfast was delicious.
the bad: bed was extremely firm, urine in the toilet upon arrival, empty water bottle left when we came in. The good: the staff was friendly, easy check in and out.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The place is nice. Breakfast was tasty. Our host was pleasant. The relational aspect of a B&B is preferred over the typical hotel experience.
Beautifully decorated. Many amenities. Will stay again!
Very nice place. Parking was just OK. Very nice facilities.
Nice place to stay
Love it!
Valerie and Wil are the best! This place us truly a home away from home!
Beautiful Inn
Beautifully renovated old historic homes filled with period antiques and amazingly comfortable beds. Outstanding, complimentary home cooked breakfast served to you in the Washington dining room. Awesome, informed, helpful staff/owners. One mile from historic Paducah. Walk the shops, restaurants, museums, galleries, and river front.
enjoyed our stay
Charming and peaceful... staff very friendly and eager to please
Had to pay $75 for a locksmith when the facility had no key to unlock the door of the room. This could be catastophic if a guest engages the lock while in the room and experiences a disabling event lilke a heart atttack. The fire marshal should be advised.
Lovely house near historic district of town
My husband and I were fortunate to choose this lovely B & B for our stay in Paducah, KY, rather than the usual hotel. Our room was clean and cheery, with modern private bath. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to return!
Just OK. Pretty house, small room and bath. Guest house kitchen and common areas fabulous. Located next door to police station. Parking on street in area that raised concern re: safety.
